Chapter 6318
In the United States, when it comes to financial transactions, it generally signifies that a considerable sum of money has been spent. Before a prominent family like the Rothschilds, there is almost nothing they cannot achieve.
When the helicopter arrived to pick up Charlie and Maria from Stanford, the president of Stanford was already present at the edge of the campus tarmac. The president was aware of the identity of the incoming guests. He had just received word that the pilot of the Rothschild family’s helicopter informed Stanford’s administrators that they were sending two visitors and requested permission to land. Although no one from the Rothschild family had directly contacted him, it didn’t stop him from greeting these esteemed guests as soon as he learned of their arrival.
As soon as the helicopter touched down, the president stepped forward despite the strong wind generated by the rotors and personally opened the door for the distinguished guests seated in the back.
When Charlie and Maria emerged from the helicopter, the president was momentarily taken aback.
He hadn’t expected the representatives from the Rothschild family to be two young individuals of Asian descent.
As the helicopter’s rotor finally ceased and the overwhelming noise faded, the president smiled humbly at Charlie and Maria, saying, “Welcome to Stanford, esteemed guests. I am James White, the president of the university. May I know your names and how I can assist you?”
Charlie understood that for such an influential academic figure to treat him with such respect, it was undoubtedly in deference to the Rothschild family.
