Elena headed back, clearly disappointed. She yawned and said to Cecilia, “I was hoping to see Robert really show his fangs tonight. Didn’t expect it to wrap up this quickly.”

She didn’t feel sorry for either side.

The Leighton family wasn’t any better.

Cecilia nodded. “Yeah. I didn’t think something like this would end up being settled with money either.”

Elena patted her shoulder.

“You’ll have to get used to it. In families like these, nobody talks about feelings. It’s all about profit.”
