Ch. 861..870

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 861-Can't Force It After the trio of them were done with their conversation, they stood up and went to the parking lot. Gilbert asked Jenny to wait in place while he took Evan to get the car.

On the way there, Gilbert looked somewhat displeased with Evan. ’I brought you back so you could pursue Jenny and make her happy, not say things you shouldn't say in front of her.’ Evan looked innocent as he shrugged and said helplessly, "How was I supposed to know that you never told her? With all the commotion, I thought Jenny already knew."

"I didn't want her to know," Gilbert said.

"Okay, I promise I won’t say anything in front of her, alright?" Evan didn't think too much about it. It was indeed embarrassing, and it was understandable that Gilbert didn't want Jenny to know.

Seeing that Evan didn't mean any harm, Gilbert didn't say anything more but asked, "How's it going? Why do I feel like Jenny is still indifferent toward you?"

"Oh, you're pretty spot on with that." Evan didn't see the need to deceive Gilbert.

It was true that he hadn't successfully won Jenny over, and he wasn't as confident as before.

His words angered Gilbert. "What do you mean by that?"

"Jenny has rejected me. She said she only sees me as a brother," Evan explained, feeling a little dismayed. If he hadn't rejected Jenny's confession, they might have been married by now. He was too young to know how to cherish what had been his.

Gilbert stared at him blankly, not knowing how Evan could say that so calmly.

"So? You're just giving up like this?"

"Of course not, but I can only take it slow. You know Jenny. If I push too hard, she'll only resist me harder."

That was something they both understood. Gilbert felt annoyed and even began to doubt if bringing Evan back was the right decision. If Jenny didn't like him, then what was the point of him coming back?

Sensing what Gilbert was thinking, Evan patted his shoulder. "Things like this are ultimately up to fate. We can't force it."

Besides, this was Jenny they were talking about. Even if they wanted to force it, they wouldn't stand a chance.

"Fate?" Gilbert murmured, then sighed bitterly.

"Don’t think too much about it. I brought Jenny with me today to see you.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have stayed with me for so long. So, you should understand your role, right?" Evan asked.

Gilbert gave him a disdainful look and scolded, "Do I have to help you with pursuing Jenny now? Can't you come up with better ideas?"

"I want to, but I really can't find any."

If it were any other woman, he could either be forceful or use money. But Jenny was different. He couldn't do that with her. More importantly, would Jenny accept him if he used his usual ways on her?

Obviously, she wouldn't.

Gilbert felt a headache coming on and rubbed his temples. Ultimately, he decided not to say anything anymore and took Evan to his car. Jenny was still waiting at the original spot, and when she saw the two of them driving over, she didn't think too much and just hopped on.

"Gilbert, have you been busy with your company lately? How are things?" They hadn't been in touch much these days, so Jenny didn't know much about Gilbert's recent situation. She was concerned and wanted to know more when she finally saw him.

Gilbert nodded as he drove. "It's been good, and everything is on track. I've contacted Zack, and he should be coming to Bardoff City soon."

Although Zack's company was thriving in Parrington, both Gilbert and Jenny were in Bardoff City, so there was no reason for him to continue to stay in Parrington. Moreover, Bardoff City had relatively better development opportunities. As long as Zack had bigger aspirations, he would definitely come to Bardoff City. It was better for him to come over so that they could watch each other's backs.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 862-Someone's Watching Us "Is Zack coming to Bardoff City too? That's awesome!" It had been a long time since the three of them hung out together. Jenny missed those days very much.

Seeing how happy she was, Gilbert asked, "Why won't you let him come here since you want him in Bardoff City so much? He'd happily oblige if you just said the word.” "You and Zack are good to me. I know you would agree to my requests, but I can't influence you for my own sake." Jenny would be happy if they came to Bardoff City to further expand their companies. However, if they came here purely for her sake, it would be different. Jenny didn't want to be such a selfish person.

Gilbert looked at her, a mixture of emotions swirling in his chest. "It's okay to be selfish once in a while, Jenny. You don't have to be so understanding."

One's heart would ache seeing someone be too considerate. Gilbert felt that Jenny had the right to make outlandish requests. She didn't have to consider their feelings so much.

"It's not about being selfish. I think it goes both ways. You guys are so good to me. I'd want to be good to you, too," Jenny said.

Evan sat behind them, his heart aching when he heard their conversation.

Although Jenny had promised to treat him like she treated Gilbert, Evan knew that they were different. He would never be as close to Jenny as Gilbert was.

Thus, if he wanted Jenny to stay by his side forever, his only choice would be to make her his lover. Otherwise, they were certain to drift apart.

Not long after, the car stopped at the largest mall in Bardoff City. They walked in.

"It's been such a long time since I've taken you shopping, Jenny. You can splurge however you please. I'll pay for everything," Gilbert said boldly.

Jenny smiled. "Well, don't mind me."

She was delighted. She thought that she and Gilbert had gone back to how they once used to be. They were family again.

They walked into the mall. Gilbert brought Jenny around the entire place. They shopped at nearly every store, making a bunch of purchases and then getting the employees to deliver them straight to their homes. Meanwhile, they went to the restaurants on the top floor.

They discussed restaurant options as they walked. But not long after, Jenny paused in her tracks and looked over her shoulder. However, she saw nothing.

Her instincts were sharp. This was the result of years of training.

"What's wrong?" Gilbert and Evan both asked.

"It's nothing. I just feel like something is watching us." She hadn't seen anyone behind them, but her intuition was usually right.

At those words, Gilbert and Evan looked back, their expressions matching the other. But there was no one suspicious behind them. Only shoppers.

Jenny patted them on their shoulders. "Let's go eat. I might be wrong."

It was a good day. She didn't want to ruin it.

They said nothing, but their guards were up.

At last, they chose to dine at a soup restaurant. Jenny and Evan sat down to order their food while Gilbert went to the washroom.

Evan glanced at the direction Gilbert had taken. He realized that Gilbert had not gone to the washroom. Instead, he had gone outside. It was odd.

"What would you like to eat, Evan?" Jenny had already chosen a few dishes.

She slid the menu toward him.

He recovered his senses and smiled. "I'm alright with anything. You can order for me.' "Alright." Jenny had a rough idea of what Evan liked to eat. She ordered a couple more dishes that would suit his and Gilbert's tastes and handed the menu back to the waiter.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 863-, but you're saying no to this little thing from me. Are you really treating me like your brother, Jenny?"

Jenny was at a loss for words. If she refused him again, it would show she didn't think of him as a brother. However, she didn't want to accept the gift from him.

"Seems like I’m nothing to you." Evan began to take it away, the disappointment apparent in his demeanor.

Jenny felt guilty and hurriedly took the box. "How could that be? You're my brother. I just didn't want you to break the bank."

"Don't worry. I have the money for this." Evan smiled, watching her take it."

Open it up," he said. He'd bought it when Jenny and Gilbert were shopping. He thought it suited Jenny well, which was why he wanted to give it to her.

Jenny opened the box. A turquoise pendant was nestled inside. It was obviously of good quality. The box suddenly felt heavy in her hands.

She said nothing. Evan asked, "How is it? Do you like it?"

"It's beautiful.' It was. It was also very expensive. But she had already received it. If she gave it back to him now, Evan would get up and leave the restaurant at once.

Jenny had to comfort herself, thinking she would give him something of equal value. That would make things even.

They exchanged conversation. Meanwhile, Gilbert's face was as dark as thunder in the washroom.

"When did you return to the country?" He looked at the woman before him, who was lowering her head in suppressed anger.

Marigold was intimidated. She said weakly, "Yesterday."

"You got back yesterday and began stalking me today. Didn't I make my words clear enough before?" He couldn't believe that Marigold actually had the balls to show herself around him. Did she have a death wish?

She shook her head meekly. "I wasn't stalking you."

"You weren't?" Gilbert refused to believe her.

"I truly wasn't. I was just here to do some shopping. I didn't know that you'd be here," she said.

Gilbert was frustrated. He asked, "Shopping? By yourself?"

"No. There's someone else," she said.

"Who?" Gilbert was going to get to the bottom of it to gauge her honesty.

But Marigold didn't want to answer. She finally looked up at him with conflicted emotions. "This has nothing to do with you. If it weren't for you suddenly stopping me, we wouldn't even have met."

"Do you think I want to see you?" Gilbert would not see her again if he could.

The moment he saw her, those disturbing images would flash through his head.

It irritated him further.

Marigold's heart ached, but on the surface, she remained calm. 'Alright. I'm going to leave."

Gilbert didn't stop her. He would find out afterward if she was stalking him or truly just shopping.

If she were stalking him, he would not let her go easily. He would banish her from the country, so he would never have to see her.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 864-I Don't Have Those Thoughts When Gilbert got back to the restaurant, the food was already served.

Jenny and Evan were waiting for him to come back.

"Apologies. I was taking a phone call.’ Gilbert sat down, showing nothing out of the ordinary on his face. At least, not to Jenny.

Evan glanced at him for a while, but he said nothing. Quite frankly, Gilbert had nothing to do with him. Evan couldn't be bothered, either.

They began eating their food. Whether by coincidence or not, Marigold walked into the restaurant, too. There was a man next to her.

"Let's eat somewhere else,* Marigold said. She'd spotted Gilbert and the others, and was afraid she'd be misunderstood. Furthermore, she didn't want to be seen with him.

The man next to her did not agree. ’ Why should we? I think this place is great.

Didn't you say you wanted to have soup earlier?"

Marigold wanted to say something else, but Jenny and others were looking over.

She had no choice but to follow him into the restaurant. They sat down.

Jenny was surprised to see her. "That's Marigold, Gilbert. I remember her having a crush on you."

She was teasing Gilbert on purpose. She did not expect Gilbert's face to shift instantly. "Who would remember a woman like that?"

"That's true. I know you don't like her. She seems pretty close to that man next to her. Perhaps they're married."

It was rare for them to meet someone they knew. Jenny was naturally curious, especially since Marigold had once liked Gilbert.

Gilbert didn't turn to look, absolutely disinterested in her. Jenny did not think too much of it. As long as Marigold did not trouble her as she had in Parrington, Jenny would not go looking for her.

Evan looked at Marigold not far off, and looked at Gilbert. He felt that something was off.

If his memory served him right, the scandal that Gilbert was involved with when he was abroad had something to do with someone called Marigold.

Could it be the Marigold that Jenny was talking about? He thought that it was likely. Gilbert didn't look happy at all.

"You're not young anymore, Gilbert. Just get to it if you've found someone suitable." Gilbert was a few years older than her. He was already in his thirties.

He had long turned the appropriate age for marriage.

Gilbert was not expecting Jenny to start pressuring him into marriage. He had come out for food. Running into Marigold was already bad luck enough. He was now completely speechless.

He glared at her, angry. "Alright. We haven't met in a while, and you're worrying about me. Do you intend to introduce someone to me?"

"Well, if you don't mind."

"Hold up. I don't have these thoughts just yet. I just want to work." Gilbert waved his hands hurriedly. They were getting sidetracked. Jenny seemed as if she were really going to introduce him to someone.

Jenny smiled dryly. "You can do both at once. It won't even take up much of your time. What's wrong with getting to know someone?"

"What do you mean, it won't take up my time? If I spend my time on a relationship, I'd be spending less time on work." Gilbert disagrees. He did not possess any desire to have a relationship.

Jenny was helpless to change his stance. She knew that once Gilbert refused something, nothing she said would change his mind. She sighed in exasperation. "Alright. You can decide for yourself. Grandpa's in Heaven looking down at us. Don't let him worry." "Are you using him to threaten me, you brat?"

Gilbert was amused. He flicked his finger against her forehead.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 865-What Do You Take This Place As?

Jenny wanted to say that she had no intention of threatening him, but then Evan pulled her towards him. "Jenny is under my protection now. You can't pick on her like that."

"Oh, so you're protecting her already." Gilbert smirked. "Alright, alright.

You'll protect her."

Jenny was a little embarrassed, but she smiled, saying nothing.

After the meal, Gilbert sent Jenny home. As for Evan, he returned to Walter Inc.

If he agreed to do something, he would do it to his best ability.

He wanted everyone to see his strengths so that everyone would know that he was capable and worthy of Jenny.

After a whole day's worth of shopping, Jenny was exhausted. She wanted to take a nap, but her phone rang.

It was Alec. She was stunned and didn't reach out for the phone.

Yesterday's incident was still fresh in her mind. She remembered what Stephanie had said. She had to calm down. Thus, she did not intend to pick upThankfully, the call ended quickly, and Alec no longer called again. Jenny sighed in relief. She didn't know what to say to Alec right now. It just felt so awkward.

On the other side of the city, Alec looked at his phone. Jenny had not picked up.

He could guess what she was thinking, so he didn't chase after her relentlessly.

It was good to give her some time to think about it.

At that thought, he put his phone away and continued working.

At night, James drove back to Windsor Villa. He saw someone standing at the entrance.

He drove toward it and stopped in front of the person. He got out of the car.

"James…" Jolene looked at him, biting her lip.

James couldn't describe what he felt when he saw her, but there were no changes in his expression. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you already be out of the country?"

"I gave it another thought and decided to stay because I couldn't bear to leave you," Jolene said.

Doubt flashed through James' eyes, but mostly, he felt sardonic. "You were clamoring to leave, but now you suddenly want to stay. Do you think I'm a clown, Jolene?"

"I…I don't mean it that way." Jolene shook her head quickly. "I only want to stay with you because I like you."

"You think you can leave and stay whenever you want. What do you take this place as? A hotel?" He smiled coldly. There was no warmth in his eyes. Jolene grew anxious.

She had chosen to stay because Rowena, after hearing the entire story of how James let her leave, deduced that James had feelings for her. If she didn't want to leave, she would choose to stay.

It was a gamble. Jolene knew it very clearly, but she still wanted to give it a shot.

She used to think that James had no feelings for her at all. She saw no hope for her here, and she would live a happier life with her mother outside of the country. However, after listening to Rowena, she suddenly thought that James could have feelings for her. If she put in the effort, she might be able to make James fall in love with her.

Because of that, she chose to stay.

"So why aren't you leaving?" James looked at her scornfully.

She gritted her teeth. "Because I like you."

James smiled coldly. He was no fool. If that were the case, Jolene would not have insisted on leaving before.

There had to be another reason. One that he did not know yet

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 866-What a pity it was that she had not analyzed anything before. She merely thought that her days, if spent there, would be dull and dreary.

Jolene bit her lip, deciding to try her luck. "Well, in that case, I'm going to leave now." She tugged on her suitcase, preparing to leave.

Seeing that she was actually going to leave him, James was stunned. He thought Jolene would beg him for another chance. He wasn't expecting her to leave just like that.

Was this what she meant by liking him? It was very half-assed.

Jolene walked with her suitcase in tow, murmuring to herself. If James were near, he would have heard her counting to a hundred. She wanted to see how far along she'd get before James told her to stay.

"Seventy-seven, seventy-eight…"

"Stop right there!"

James' voice sounded from behind. Jolene smirked. So, Rowena was right.

She turned, pretending to be bewildered. "Is there something else?"

"Are you leaving just like that?" James asked.

"Of course. You're not letting me stay. What else can I do?" she said.

James was incredibly frustrated. He felt that he was being manipulated, but he thought it was impossible. How could she manipulate him? He was clearly the one making all the decisions.

In the silence, Jolene's heart thumped hard. However, her anxiety dissipated when she heard James say, "Get the fuck in the house!"

Jolene smiled. She said nothing, going into the villa with James.

She was back in this familiar place. But this time, she had a completely different outlook on things.

Perhaps this time, victory would be hers.

In the following days, Jenny didn't meet with Alec even though he called every day. He would not stop calling even if she refused to pick up, as if to test the waters.

Jenny didn't know what to say. She hadn't yet given the matter any careful consideration, which was why she neither picked up nor met him.

Alec looked at his phone in Faust Group. The familiar robotic voice was playing.

Jenny had not picked up once more.

He sighed, a little exasperated.

"Mr. Faust, Luke has said that his new turf club will be launching soon. He has invited you to the launch.* Vincent walked in. He was transferred over to the company and was Alec's assistant once more.

Something in Alec's eyes flashed. "Have they finally come?' He had waited for days. He thought that the people from that family would have moved ages ago. They were unexpectedly patient, waiting until now to strike.

"Mr. Faust, they don't bear good intentions. I'm afraid of the danger." Vincent frowned. Ever since Alec had come to Faust Group, this was the first time Luke invited him to a gathering. It was unusual, no matter how one looked at it.

Alec was not surprised. He smiled, saying, "It will always be dangerous. The question is for whom.' The Fausts had their plan to attack him. Likewise, Alec had a plan to defeat them.

"Tell Evan to begin the plan. Tell him to consider the consequences if he fails,"

Alec said.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 867-Sticking to the Plan Vincent nodded. He had served Alec for many years. He knew of his abilities well. If he dared to go to the launch, there wouldn't be much to worry about.

After Vincent left the office, Alec investigated the turf club that had just opened.

He wanted to observe the geographical layout of the place so that he could figure out what they'd use to finish him off.

He figured it out very quickly, but he was speechless.

It was a cliff, again.

They wanted to make it look like he had lost his footing and fallen into the water.

They would be riding horses, after all, but horses had a rebellious streak. If they ran over the cliff, it would be pronounced an accident.

He could tell that they had done this very secretively. Alec even suspected that this turf club was prepared specially for him. No one would choose a place like that for horses. A fool could tell that it was an accident-prone place.

If he didn't prepare himself beforehand and figure out that they would hurt him, he might actually lose his life.

But now, it was hard to say who the victim would be.

Evan looked upset when he received Alec's message. "Does he honestly think that I'm his underling?"

He could be upset all he wanted, but Evan knew he had to do it.

At that thought, he called his henchmen and got them to keep an eye on Xavier so that they would find an opening to strike.

He hung up and left, using the excuse of meeting a client to meet with his henchmen.

It was the first time he launched an attack since returning to the country. He had to make sure that it was perfect. Even if the Fausts could not trace it to him, Evan had decided to send his henchmen abroad and bring in a new group of men once this was over. That way, the Fausts would never be able to trace it back to him.

After all, it was all within the country, and the Fausts were not like regular people. He had to be extra cautious.

Xavier had no idea this would be the day of his death instead of Alec's as they had planned.

When Alec reached the turf club, there were plenty of rich people coming to support Luke. When they saw Alec, they formed a path for him to walk through.

They chose to suck up to Luke, so they did not greet Alec. No one liked people who sucked up to everyone.

"You're here, Alec. Choose a horse that you like. We'll race each other." Luke went forward and patted Alec on the shoulder. Anyone might think that they were close.

Alec looked at him and the doubtful glances around him. Realization dawned on him. Luke was pretending to be on friendly terms with him so that if something happened later on, it would seem like just an accident.

He found it all amusing. Humans were such pretentious creatures.

Luke clearly hated him, yet he refused to show it. What was the point of this?

"Alright.” Alec nodded. Luke was targeting him. Of course he'd have to comply.

Luke sighed in relief when Alec agreed. ’Let's go take a look."

Afterward, he got someone to bring Alec to the horses. He went to the restroom to call his father.

"He's here, Dad," Luke said.

"Good. Stick to the plan. Do not let him leave that turf club alive," Xavier said.

Luke agreed. He had long hated Alec. If it weren't for his father's inhibitions, Luke would have struck ages ago.

Now the time had finally come. He would not give Alec the chance to escape

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 868-f.

The race began quickly. There were quite a number of people watching them, curious to know about their relationship with each other.

The media said that they were like fire and ice, but they didn't seem too bad.

Alec rode on his horse. Luke suddenly neared him and said in a not-so-soft voice, "Do you know what day it is, Alec?"

Alec said nothing. Luke continued, "It's the day that you die."

Luke then whipped his horse so that his horse would surpass Alec's. He rushed toward the mountains.

Alec smiled lightly, not expressing too much emotion. He knew Luke was intentionally provoking him, but he went over anyway. How could they have the chance to kill him if he didn't?

The people around them watched them disappear into the mountains.

They were surprised. "Why did they run to the mountains? Has something happened?"

"Everybody, relax. The mountains are also part of the race tracks. Although the conditions are worse, it’s very suitable for people who like to race," the employees explained.

The people said nothing more. They dispersed, no longer paying attention. Luke didn't go very fast, as if he were purposefully waiting for Alec.

Alec had seen the map. He knew that Luke was riding in the direction of the cliff.

So, they were going to murder him there.

Not long after, Luke stopped a distance away from the cliff, glaring at him.

Alec slowed down as well and rode over. He smiled coldly. ’Why aren't you moving forward?"

"I'm not going to accompany you anymore. You can go by yourself." Luke sneered. This beat up trail was better suited for Alec alone.

Just as Alec guessed his next move, Luke raised an arm and signaled with his hand. At once, something hit Alec's horse, and it reared wildly.

Alec turned back. A needle poked out of the horse's back. There was no telling what the horse was injected with.

The horse ran forward in panic. It was going to run off the cliff.

Luke was grinning widely. 'You could have done anything you wanted, Alec, but you just had to fight the Fausts. You pretty much lost your life the moment you did that."

He thought that Alec would be panicking right now. At the very least, Alec would be cursing. However, he did not.

Instead, a smile appeared on Alec's lips. Luke rubbed his eyes, wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him.

The next second, right as the horse was about to go down the cliff, Alec jumped off the horse and landed squarely on the ground. He only had a few inches to spare.

The smile on Luke's face froze. "You…"

"Is this all you've prepared? I thought you were more capable than this."

Didn't they know that he was pretty good at parkour?

A normal person would not have been able to recover, but Alec was welltrained. If he couldn't get the horse to control itself, he could at least jump down from it.

Alec couldn't help wondering if it was Luke or Xavier who came up with this plan

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 869-Stall Him Luke felt embarrassed. It was indeed his plan. Although he had run it past his father, he had not offered any suggestions for improvement. It led to Luke thinking that his plan was perfect.

But now, it seemed that his plan was far from perfect. He hadn’t even investigated Alec's abilities.

"Don't you dare get too excited!" Luke gnashed his teeth and waved his hand.

The people hidden in their surroundings rushed forward.

He had other things prepared. So what if Alec was good at combat? He couldn't possibly win against everyone here.

Alec was a little more impressed now that he saw Luke's other preparations. He wasn't as stupid as he thought.

Although he looked relaxed on the outside, Alec knew he would have to put a lot of effort into knocking all those people out. What was more, he feared that he would lose much of his energy after he was done.

As the thought played in his mind, he was already battling with Luke's henchmen. He was the only one fighting for himself against a group of people, yet they began dropping like flies.

Luke couldn't help taking a few steps back. Was Alec really this good?

He felt troubled. If he had known it earlier, he would have called in more people.

But it was too late now. Alec would be long gone by the time they got there.

Luke began to grow anxious. If he failed now, Xavier would be furious. He'd think that he was a failure.

When Luke thought of the other illegitimate children eyeing his position as the heir, he panicked. He no longer cared if backup would arrive in time. He called them, then said to the ones fighting Alec, "Trap him! Stall him!"

They were no match for Alec. Anyone who tried to attack him would be taken out at once. There was no point in fighting. They would rather save themselves and wait for backup.

Alec knew what Luke was thinking. Naturally, he would not let him win. These people dared not fight him, so he charged toward them, forcing them to fight him.

In the blink of an eye, the group of Luke's men was taken out. Alec was exhausted. He could take them all on, but he had to make sure he was not hurt in the process. But right now, even if he were hurt, he would not show it.

He walked toward Luke with a smile on his face. "Is that it? Just how much do you underestimate me, Luke?"

"What…what are you doing?” Having seen Alec's wrath, Luke stepped back in fear. Could Alec be taking this chance to beat him up, too?

Alec smiled coldly, reaching out toward him.

Suddenly, there was a bang. A bullet shot towards Alec's outstretched hand.

Alec reacted quickly. He ducked behind a large boulder, his eyes clouded."

You're a brave one, Luke, getting out the guns."

Even the Fausts had to be diligent about guns in Bardoff City. They were a family with a rich heritage, after all. But once the line was crossed, there would be disastrous consequences.

That was why Alec had chosen to partner up with Evan. Evan was from abroad, and even if he were to use firearms, he would be hard to track. It would be practically impossible for them to trace it to Alec.

Luke looked at Alec behind the boulder, wanting to say that this was not part of his plan. However, he ended up saying nothing.

He was no fool. If this wasn't part of his plan, it was his father's plan. No wonder his father hadn't said anything before. He had already made his own plans

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 870-m.

His grumbles ran deep, but he was smart enough to brush them off for now.

Right now, what he needed to do was make Alec disappear.

Everything else would follow.

The gunshots were still being fired. Xavier had planned this well. There were several men hidden in the mountain. Alec was beginning to tire out.

He had been careless. He hadn't thought that the Fausts would be so incredibly ruthless. Weren't they afraid of being caught? On top of that, Zeke was still the head of the Fausts. Weren't they afraid he would find out about them using guns?

While Alec's mind drifted off, one of the bullets hit his thigh. However, he did not stop running. He had to leave quickly and escape their circle.

His arm and thigh hurt really bad, but the pain made him even more alert.

The head of the Fausts was indeed Zeke. Without his permission, Luke and Xavier would not have used guns.

Everything was so clear now.

Alec smirked. Couldn't they hold it in any longer?

Very quickly, he was forced to the edge of the cliff. He realized that the snipers did not mean to kill him by gunshot. They merely wanted to force him to the edge. Did they want him to jump?

Cowards!

They wanted him to die, but they were afraid of being caught and affecting the family name. That was why they wanted him to jump. After that, they would say that he had lost his footing and fallen down. It would have nothing to do with them.

As for the bullet wounds, no one would even notice.

Alec stood at the cliff, the gunshots stopping. He knew that someone was staring at him. They would fire if he did not jump.

He smiled coldly. He was not afraid at all.

He looked back. He sort of understood why the Fausts insisted on the cliff. His previous accident involved one, and he'd be haunted by it. If he fell, it would simply be fulfilling his destiny.

"There's no escaping, Alec. Just jump. What if you're lucky and you're saved again?" Luke walked over. However, he did not go near him just in case.

"Do you think my death is definite?" Alec looked at the cliff. He did not believe that the Fausts would be so sure. Who could guarantee that he would die this time?

If Luke was so sure, something was waiting for him at the bottom.

Luke smiled. "If you can survive this, it's written in the stars, then. I promise not to bother you in the future."

Survive?

This was not the cliff from before. There was no water below them. If Alec fell, he would break every single bond in his body. Alec knew this.

"You have no other choice, Alec," Luke said, laughing gleefully.

Alec looked at him and said, "I hope you'll always be able to laugh as loudly as you did."

After saying that, he turned and jumped off the cliff, disappearing before Luke's sight.
