To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 761-On the Brink of Death Although Alicia didn't say it, Jenny could guess what she was thinking.

"I only told you because I didn't want others taking advantage of you. You can still seek revenge on me. After all, Jonathan's death was related to me. H Although she didn't think she was wrong, she knew it was logical for Alicia to hate her.

Alicia began to waver, and it seemed she didn't truly want to kill herself. Noticing that, Jenny continued, "Think about your brother. He sacrificed so much to save you. Do you really have the heart to let him die in vain?’ Alicia gritted her teeth. Of course, she didn't want her brother's sacrifice to be in vain. But she knew clearly that she couldn't kill Jenny. It would be difficult for her to even meet Jenny as they were from entirely different worlds.

Jenny didn't care about what she was thinking. When Alicia hesitated, she slowly moved closer to her and grabbed her when she was distracted.

Perhaps it frightened Alicia because she fell off the roof instead of toward Jenny.

It caught Jenny by surprise. Fortunately, she reacted in time, grabbing Alicia's ankle with one hand and holding onto the edge of the rooftop tightly with the other.

It was also fortunate that she had some combat training and was not weak.

Otherwise, she might not have been able to hold onto Alicia.

At the brink of death, Alicia began trembling. "Don't let go! I don't want to die yet."

Jenny was exasperated. She wondered to herself why Alicia made such a scene if she didn't want to die. Nonetheless, she was too afraid to speak for fear that she might end up letting go of Alicia.

All Jenny could do was pray that the rescue team would arrive soon. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to hold on to Alicia.

Just then, Jenny heard footsteps. She didn't know who it was, but she cried, "Hurry! Pull me up.*

As soon as she said that, someone grabbed her hand and then pulled her and Alicia up. It was then that Jenny discovered the person was Alec.

"Thank you,’ she said, unsure how to feel about the situation.

"You are too impulsive! What if you didn't catch her? Do you really want to die with her?" Alec scolded her. He didn't know why he was so angry.

As soon as he heard that Jenny was on the rooftop, he rushed over immediately. Fortunately, he arrived in time, or the unthinkable might have happened.

Jenny looked at Alicia, whose legs were trembling. It seemed that she was facing difficulty standing up.

"Let's send her to the hospital first.’ Alicia's body was not in good condition to begin with. If something really happened to her, Jenny would feel guilty even though it wasn't her fault.

At that moment, Evan and the rescue team arrived. Although he saw Alec there, he didn't ask about it but instead accompanied them to send Alicia to the ward.

After that, it was Jenny's turn for an examination. The doctor confirmed that Jenny was fine, and Evan sighed in relief.

"You scared me."

He had panicked when he saw Jenny falling off the rooftop when he returned with the car. Although he rushed up there as fast as he could, he was still a step slower than Alec. However, he didn't feel like Alec had stolen his thunder.

Instead, he thanked him for showing up on time. Otherwise, Jenny might have…

Evan didn't dare to think about the consequences.

Jenny let out an embarrassed smile. "I'm sorry I made you worry. I didn't think it through at that time."

All that went through her mind was that she couldn't allow Alicia to have an accident.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 762-I'm Not Interested in Him While the two were talking, Alec didn't leave and continued trailing behind Jenny. Only after confirming that she was fine did his heart finally stop pounding in his chest.

Seeing that he had not left yet, Jenny was a little puzzled. "Is there anything else, Mr. Faust?"

"No." Alec shook his head, but his gaze was fixed on Evan. He seemed to be very curious about him, or more precisely, he was curious about Evan's relationship with Jenny.

As if knowing what he was thinking, Evan extended his hand to him.

"Hello, Mr. Faust. I am Evan Clarke, Jenny's family."

The word "family" could be interpreted in many ways. It could mean anything from siblings to relatives and even someone's husband.

Although his expression shifted, his face didn't betray his emotions.

"Hello."

After the two men exchanged pleasantries, Alec was ready to leave since he had nothing left to do.

"By the way, Mr. Faust.” Jenny stopped him. "About the surgery you mentioned earlier, if it's urgent, you can bring me the information tomorrow for me to look at first."

"It's not urgent. Your injury-"

"I'm fine. It won't affect the surgery," Jenny said.

Alec wanted her to rest for a few more days, not because he was worried about the surgery being affected. However, he didn't correct Jenny's misunderstanding of his intentions.

"Alright, I'll send you the information tomorrow."

As Alec left. Evan watched his retreating figure, his gaze a tiny bit hostile. He could tell that something was going on with Alec. "Are you going to perform surgery on him?" Evan asked.

Jenny nodded, oblivious to the strange look in Evan's eyes.

"He needs to undergo craniotomy surgery because of the cerebral hemorrhage caused by the trauma of the impact."

"Of all the doctors in Bardoff City, he just had to look for you," Evan sneered, thinking to himself that it wasn't just about the surgery.

Jenny glanced at him, saying, "He approached my mentor first, and my mentor referred him to me."

"Oh, I see." Evan's reply seemed a little stiff and unnatural. "I was just asking."

"Is that so? Why do you seem very interested in him?" Jenny watched him, not believing he was just asking a casual question.

Evan scratched his nose and laughed dryly. "I'm not interested in him."

Jenny didn't ask more. Instead, she said, "Let's go home."

"Alright." Evan did not dwell on the topic, but he believed that Jenny understood what he meant.

Before they left the hospital, Jenny went to ensure that Alicia was okay. After that, she followed Evan out of the hospital.

By the time they arrived at Walter Castle, Graham had been waiting for some time. It was his first time meeting Evan. Facing his future father-in- law, Evan put on his best behavior.

Although Graham couldn't figure out the relationship between Evan and his daughter, he supported Evan and was friendly to him because he seemed like a good person. To no one's surprise, Evan stayed for dinner. Jenny didn't pay any attention and returned to her room to freshen up before returning to the living room.

Meanwhile, Rowena was also in the living room, looking defeated and dispirited.

Perhaps it was because the Glasses had gone bankrupt. Her family had been her greatest backing. Now they were gone, and the Walter family had turned their backs on her. Despair was beginning to overcome her.

Nonetheless, her pitiful state did not garner Jenny's pity.

Smiling, Jenny greeted her. Her unexpected action caused Rowena to break out in cold sweat when she saw Jenny grinning at her.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 763-3 How Are You Feeling Now Gulping, Rowena put on a smile and asked, "What is it? Is there anything I can help you with, Jenny?" "Not really. I just wanted to know how you are feeling now that the Glasses are bankrupt,' she said, deliberately provoking her.

Graham, who was in the room, didn't seem to care and ignored the conversation.

Rowena understood it all too well. Graham had always been on Jenny's side.

"It's their own fault that they are in this state. Although I am sad, I won't help them."

There was nothing Rowena could do except cling to the Walters. If she didn't, she would have nothing left.

"Listen to yourself. Haven't you been helping the Glasses?" Jenny sneered at her.

Rowena's heart began to pound, and she began to feel uneasy. "Jenny, what do you mean? I have never helped the Glasses. I know I have asked your father to spare them before, but that was all I did."

Although she worried that Jenny might know everything, she thought it was unlikely.

"Is that so?" Unfazed by her denial, Jenny handed the information she had gathered to Graham. "Dad, take a look."

Jenny believed her father didn't know any of this, or he wouldn't have tolerated Rowena for so long.

She was right. After Graham digested the information, his face fell instantly. "Is all of this true?"

"Absolutely." Jenny nodded. Although she hated Rowena, she wouldn't make up false information. In addition, Rowena had done many things, so she didn't need to make up stories.

Flinging the information at Rowena, Graham rose, pointing at her and shaking all over.

Jenny hurried up to comfort him, saying, "Please calm down. It's not worth it getting all worked up and angry over someone like her."

Although he calmed down a little, Graham was still furious.

Rowena looked at the information Graham had flung at her and shivered as she paged through them. The first thing she saw was a photo of her and Graham's first cousin, once removed, entering and leaving a hotel together. She continued to flip through the pages and found her chat records with him.

There were also records of her transmitting information to the Glasses and the chat records between her and them on the day Jenny had an accident, in which she informed them that Jenny had gone out.

Rowena couldn't believe it, wondering how Jenny found all the information.

Weren't her chat records only accessible on her phone?

She began to panic. Jenny was too terrifying!

"Look, I can understand that you want to get rid of me," Jenny said. "But it's strange that you would help others attack the Walters. Would it benefit you if the Walters fell?"

She didn't understand why Rowena would do all this. Meanwhile, Rowena realized there was no point in keeping up her lies.

She leaned back in her chair and relaxed. In the face of Jenny's question, she sneered, "As if I'll benefit from the Walters not falling. The Walters belongs to you and your father. It has nothing to do with Jolene and me."

Even though Jolene was also Graham's daughter, what could she gain from the Walters?

"So, you conspired with them to destroy the Walters?"

Jenny couldn't quite understand. Even if the Walters didn't give her anything, wasn't she living a splendid life as Mrs. Walter? Moreover, Graham had never mistreated her. While he didn't love her, he gave her what she deserved. Many people envied and coveted the life Rowena possessed.

 

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 764-Divorce Rowena did not deny it.

Sneering, she replied, "Jenny, before you returned, I never thought of doing this.

Although I knew your father doesn't like me, the Walters are still my family. But everything changed since you showed up!"

She looked at Jenny as if she were her greatest enemy. In fact, Jenny was her greatest enemy. If she could do it, she would have annihilated Jenny.

"Stop making yourself sound so noble. Just admit that my return threatened whatever benefits you hoped to receive," Jenny retorted.

Glaring at her viciously, Rowena gritted her teeth and replied, "Yes, it did. Even so, it doesn't change the fact that you never should've come back! Let me correct myself. You never should’ve been born!1’ She roared loudly, finally saying what she had been holding in.

Jenny's expression changed slightly when she heard that, and her hand clenched into fists. Rowena's words hit a sore spot. Jenny had always thought that her mother might not have had an accident if it weren't for Jenny. Perhaps she and Graham would still be living the best of their lives if it weren't for her.

Although Graham said that her mother was still alive, they had no news about her despite the many years that had passed. They didn't know if she was still alive.

It upset Graham to see the hurt in her eyes.

He slapped Rowena and said, "Jenny is my daughter and will always be my precious daughter. You, on the other hand…l shouldn't have married you." His daughter wouldn't have suffered so much if he hadn't married Rowena.

Covering her slapped cheek, Rowena began to cry. Even though she was a tough cookie, she couldn't stop her tears from falling. "Graham! You're too cruel.

I've followed you for so many years!"

She had worked hard, yet in the end, this was how he treated her.

He shouldn't have married her? Rowena wanted to laugh at that. She should have listened to others instead of marrying him. If she had listened to them, she wouldn't be in the position she was in.

"Let's get a divorce," Graham said, sighing. Since things had evolved to this stage, their pointless marriage should also end.

Rowena wasn't surprised to hear that. She had expected it.

Letting out a chuckle, she looked at Graham and said, "I refuse!"

How could she allow him to dump her so easily? She had to make Graham suffer too.

Since the Glasses were gone and Graham wanted to divorce her, how could she survive if she didn't get enough properties and possessions?

When she refused, Graham's anger flared up again. "You refuse? How could you have the audacity to refuse? Do you really want me to announce your true colors to the whole world?"

"Go ahead. Do it if you can. We'll see who ends up getting embarrassed about it," Rowena retorted, stubbornly refusing to relent. She had nothing to lose, so she wasn't afraid of Graham making a big fuss. Compared to her, Graham, as the head of the Walters, had more to lose.

Furious, Graham was about to hit her, but Jenny stopped him.

"Don't be hasty. There must be a way for a divorce."

If Rowena hadn't done such a vile act, Jenny wouldn't have done anything to her. She might have even allowed her to accompany Graham to his grave.

However, she had betrayed Graham. It did not help that both Jenny and Graham could not tolerate her. Hence, divorce was inevitable.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 765-'s All in the Past Rowena was kicked out of the Walter family. The very sight of her disgusted Graham, and there was no way he would allow her to stay, so he had his lawyer prepare for divorce. After everything was settled, he turned to Evan, who was still in his home, looking a little stunned.

"I'm sorry you had to watch the whole circus.’ "Mr. Walter, don't worry about it. Jenny is my family, and you're her family, so you're my family too."

What had happened made Evan realize how much Jenny had suffered at Rowena's hands.

His words changed Graham's perception of Evan. Of course, Graham knew Evan had feelings for Jenny. He had also heard that they grew up together and were childhood sweethearts. However, if he really had feelings for her, why did he only come to pursue her now?

He didn't know the reason, nor did he want to ask. Hence, he stuck to exchanging pleasantries and small talk.

Later, when Jenny sent Evan to the door, she said, "Be careful on the way back, Evan."

"Jenny, I'm sorry." Evan’s apology confused Jenny. "If I hadn't left back then and had been by your side all along, maybe you wouldn't have suffered so much."

At the very least, he wouldn't allow Jenny to marry Alec, nor would he allow anyone to bully her.

Jenny chuckled. "It's all in the past. Look at how well I turned out."

"Well, you're right. It's all in the past." With him around, Jenny would never suffer again.

He reached out and patted Jenny's head. "Go back and comfort Mr. Walter.

I think he's not feeling very well."

Although Graham didn't like Rowena, they were married for many years. He wouldn't feel good finding out that she cheated on him.

Jenny nodded before heading back in. In the living room, Graham was still in the same position he had been in when Jenny left. Seeing her, he asked," Has he left?"

Jenny nodded. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Graham said, though he didn't look fine.

Jenny approached him and said, "Let me massage your temples."

Graham didn't refuse her offer. Her massage really did make him feel much better.

"It was my fault. If it weren't for Rowena, you wouldn't have been in danger, "

Graham said, feeling guilty.

"Don't blame yourself. Who would have imagined she was so crazy?"

"Yeah, who would have thought?" Graham sighed. Although he didn't like Rowena, he still respected her. He thought she would be content with what she had, but…

Sighing again, Graham said, "Sometimes I can't help but wonder if I am part of the problem too. Did all of this happen because I treated her badly?"

Jenny paused and looked at him. "Don't blame yourself for someone else's mistakes. Even if you treated her well. I’m sure she wouldn't have been satisfied." "Well, that makes sense." Although sometimes he felt guilty for what had happened, he didn't exactly think he was at fault. Even if he was, Rowena could have chosen to divorce him instead of doing what she had done.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 767-Do You Still Plan on Marrying Me?

Although Jolene was deep in despair, she hid her troubles from Rowena, knowing that she'd only make her mom more upset on top of the divorce row.

After she comforted Rowena and coaxed her into sleep, she finally left the hotel and rushed back to James' villa. She had wanted to spend time with Rowena at the hotel, but James set up ground rules for her, and one of them was a ban on spending the night out.

She dared not go against the rules and rushed home as fast as she could, even when the clock had struck midnight.

After arriving at the villa, she cautiously opened the door, thinking that James must have gone to bed at this time. She planned to tiptoe back to her room to hide the fact that she'd been out.

To her dismay, the lights flickered on once she reached the living room. James sat on the couch and shot her an icy glare that sent shivers down her spine.

"Where did you go?’ "What's the matter? Why would he be sitting in the living room at this hour?

Could he be…waiting for me on purpose?" Those thoughts plagued Jolene's mind. Instead of feeling happy, she was gripped by fear. She was scared he'd go physical on her, even though he never laid a finger on her.

She tried her best to remain composed and went up to him, explaining calmly. "I went to see my mom."

"Rowena Glass?” He raised an eyebrow, showing no respect for her mother at all. He had heard about the incident involving Jenny and Rowena's role in it.

Rowena had to thank her lucky stars that he had not taken action against her. In fact, James had wanted to avenge Jenny, but he had to sit out because Graham wanted to resolve the matter by himself.

Jolene nodded and walked up to him. "My dad wants a divorce. She's in a bad mood.’ "Hah," he snickered. 'Your dad is cursed for marrying a woman like her."

She pursed her lips and fell silent. Although she disagreed with how James addressed Rowena, she didn't have the guts to talk back to him and merely protested in silence.

He appeared to have read her mind and warned her, "We're not married yet, but you are now my fiancee. I'm warning you not to help her, or I won't go easy on you.’ "Have you ever gone easy on me?" She didn't vocalize her thoughts and flashed a bitter smile instead, lamenting, "I can't even help her even if I want to."

She had nothing to her name apart from the title of James Windsor's fiancee.

She even lost her stature as the second daughter of the Walters.

"She isn't worth it," he replied.

"But she's my mom," she blurted out and instantly witnessed the change in his expression. Stumbling backward in fear, she said shakily, "I won't help her."

In reality, Rowena didn't need any of her help. Jolene was the one who needed to be saved.

"Good to hearthat.' He stood up and prepared to go upstairs. 'Ifyou plan to come home at this late hour, you might as well never come back."

Before he left, she blurted out her burning question, "D-do you still plan on marrying me?' They were engaged with marriage set in sight. Right now, the Glasses were ruined, and she also lost the backing of the Walters. Even her parents wanted a divorce. Jolene really had nothing left. Her only concern was her coming marriage to James, and she shuddered at the possibility that she might lose everything.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 768-You Are All I Have Late at night in a hotel suite, Rowena poured herself a glass of red wine and downed it without savoring it. Looking out the window at the bustling traffic below, she laughed to herself.

"Rowena, you wanted the world, but you ended up with nothing in the end," she told herself.

She was unwilling to give up, but what could she do?

The Glass family was gone, and Graham wanted a divorce. She had nothing left.

By the time Jolene arrived, Rowena was already drunk.

"Jolene, you are all I have,” she said.

All she had was her daughter.

"What's going on, Mom? Why are you staying in a hotel?" Jolene received a call from Rowena, who just asked her to come and accompany her without telling her what had happened, so she didn't know what was going on.

Pulling Jolene to sit beside her, Rowena said with a bitter smile, "Your father wants a divorce."

"What!” Jolene was shocked and couldn't believe it. "A divorce? What's going on? Did Jenny say something to Dad?"

Jolene's first reaction was to blame someone else. She never even considered that it might be Rowena's fault.

Rowena didn't deny it. In her opinion, it was all because of Jenny. Graham would not have wanted a divorce if Jenny had kept quiet.

Jolene knew that Rowena's silence meant she was right, and her expression turned ugly. "That bitch! I'm going to kill her!"

Rowena held her back and stopped her from going. "Forget it. You're not her match."

They both knew it all too well.

Turning pale at the realization, Jolene asked, "So, are you really going to get a divorce?"

"It's very likely. Your father is very determined this time," Rowena said. She was well aware that any of those things she had done could make Graham furious, and now there was no turning back.

"Why did it have to come to this? How did everything suddenly turn out like this?" Jolene sobbed as she hugged her mother.

She didn't understand. They used to be a family, and even though her parents argued a lot, Jolene still felt happy. But everything changed when Jenny returned.

"Don't cry!" Rowena tried to comfort her. "At least you have good marriage prospects."

Good marriage prospects? Jolene felt even sadder and cried even louder.

"Jolene, I can't help you anymore. You have to hold onto James tightly and make him marry you, or else you'll be finished," Rowena said. Jolene knew that her future would be uncertain if she couldn't marry into the Windsors.

However, given how James treated her, she would have a better chance at entering heaven's gates than marrying him.

It seemed that Rowena knew that Jolene was struggling.

"I know James isn't treating you well, but he's not trying to push you away either.

You still have a chance. What you need to do is try to have his child. Even if he's reluctant, the Windsors will force him to marry you."

As long as she became a part of the Windsors, it wouldn't matter whether Graham acknowledged her as his daughter. She would be Mrs. Windsor, completely different from her current status.

However, the thought of having a child with James only made her cry harder.

Since moving into James's villa, Jolene had been diligently cooking, cleaning, and keeping everything in order, but it seemed to be all for nothing. James paid her no attention, and she had not even set foot in his room. Given these circumstances, how could she possibly conceive a child with him?

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 769-What Does That Have to Do With You Ignoring his advances, Jenny reiterated her words and added, "I can perform the surgery on you, but you have to understand the risks that come with it."

"Got it." Given that he was willing to come for a consultation, he must have been mentally prepared for the worst-case scenario. Curious about his insistence, she asked, "I remember you said you didn't care about the memory loss. Why would you change your mind now?"

"What are the consequences of not getting the surgery?" he suggested, directing the question back at her.

She immediately understood him and chuckled. ’Mr. Faust, you are indeed smart. Without the surgery, you will gradually lose your eyesight and likely suffer a brain hemorrhage."

Alec could opt for surgery when his condition deteriorated, which would not threaten his life, but no one could foresee other uncertainties in his life at that time. Therefore, it was clever of him to get the surgery out of the way.

"When can I get the surgery?’ he asked.

Jenny checked her schedule and thought about it for a moment. "Let's do it in a week. I need to prepare for the surgery and get assistance from other departments."

"Sure." He had no objections.

After their discussion, she had to politely ask him to leave because it did not seem he would make a move. "Mr. Faust, you may leave now if you have nothing else to discuss. I need to see my next patient."

"What's your relationship with Evan Clarke?" he blurted out as he stared at her.

She froze in astonishment. "Mr. Faust, you're quite a busybody, aren't you? That is none of your business."

"I'm just curious," he replied.

Feeling disdainful, she refused to give him a second look and called out to her next patient, "Lisa Green!"

He had no choice but to leave, but the feeling of uneasiness lingered. On his way out, he bumped into Evan Clarke, who was there to meet Jenny.

Evan was startled to see him but gathered himself. "Mr. Faust, are you here for a consultation with Jenny?"

"Yes." Alec nodded but didn't leave. He hung around and chatted with Evan, perhaps out of curiosity about his relationship with Jenny.

"You don't have any feelings for Jenny now. Am I right?" Evan went straight to the point.

Frowning at Evan's boldness, Alec retorted, "What does that have to do with you?"

"It has everything to do with me," Evan explained. "I have known her since we were young. She went through a lot these years because I was living abroad.

Now that I'm back, I won't allow anyone to hurt her." He glanced at Alec with hostility. "I hope that people like you, who have hurt her, stay far away from her."

He knew very well that the visit to the hospital was Alec's excuse to meet with Jenny.

Ashen-faced, Alec snorted. ’Are you telling me that you're childhood sweethearts with Jenny?"

"That's not wrong." Evan did not deny it. "My only regret was rejecting her confession years ago."

"Jenny confessed to Evan Clarke, and he rejected her?’ Alec thought.

Alarmed and distressed, he might act on his temper had his rationality not held him back.

"Mr. Clarke, what's the point of telling me? I'm not interested in your relationship with Jenny. I was only here to book surgery with her." Alec's excuse was flimsy, given that he was the one who had initiated the conversation.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 770-Give Up on Your Vain Hope Hearing that, Evan raised his brow. "Oh, is that so? Great. I, too, believe that you wouldn't harass Jenny."

"Mr. Clarke, you have a wild imagination." Alec scoffed and left, not willing to speak to him any longer. Evan smiled at the sight and went to Jenny's office.

It was close to noon, and Jenny was done seeing all her patients scheduled in the morning. She said, "Evan, good timing! I'm about to get off work."

"Nice. Let's have lunch together?" He beamed, and she nodded. She brought him to the cafeteria, her attitude vastly different from when she dined with Derrick Clearwater. Evan didn't mind cafeteria food as long as he was with Jenny.

At noon, the cafeteria was bustling with hospital staff who weren't close to Jenny but recognized her nonetheless. They looked at Jenny and Evan with curiosity and wondered about their relationship.

Jenny ignored the eyes on them and searched for a table with Evan. Meanwhile, Derrick glared at the two of them. He had harbored suspicion about their relationship, and his guess was proven right. He finally understood the reason behind Jenny's rejection-she had chosen the other guy over him. However, he was clueless about Evan's background and wondered if Evan was one of the members of the Ten Elites. If so, he would never stand a chance against his rival.

The thoughts troubled him. His average background frustrated him, unlike Jenny and Evan, who were born into wealth.

While he was ruminating and grumbling, someone appeared in front of him.

"Derrick Clearwater, why are you here alone? I thought you were going after Jenny Walter. Why is she having lunch with another man?"

"McKenna Poole!" he hissed, knowing she was mocking him.

She smiled even brighter at his angry outburst. "You have to know your place even if you want to be a social climber. Did you seriously think you are good enough for the Walters?"

McKenna harbored resentment toward Jenny after learning that Derrick was pursuing her romantically. Therefore, she went to her dad and requested that he come up with an idea to get Jenny fired. However, she decided not to pursue the idea after she learned about Jenny's identity from her dad.

Even though Dr. Poole was a respected director of a hospital department, he was nothing compared to the Walters. McKenna refrained from giving Jenny trouble out of fear of implicating the Pooles. Moreover, after she learned about Jenny's family background, she was confident that Jenny would never be interested in Derrick.

When she dropped by the cafeteria, she found a handsome man with an unusual air on him sitting across from Jenny. She beamed when she noticed Derrick sulking in a corner-he was gritting his teeth in silence.

She put on a fake front and comforted him, "Give up on your vain hope. Jenny Walter is living in a world different from ours. She's working here out of passion.

"You're right."

McKenna smiled after seeing his act of resignation. "There's a good movie showing in the theaters. Do you want to watch it tonight?"
