To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 751-What If I Don't Want to?
"All we need to do now is send someone over to pull the plug," Wayne suggested. Jenny wouldn't have her guard up now that she was unconscious.
The only issue was how to get close enough to her to land the killing blow.
Randy nodded. "I'm on it."
The Glasses were not the only ones having a hard time sleeping for the night.
Jolene had been equally disturbed upon hearing the news that Jenny was still alive.
She had heard of Jenny's accident only after she was hospitalized and prayed to everything in existence that she'd just die. Such was the hatred Jolene had for her "sister."
It went without saying then that she wasn't in any good mood now that Jenny was out of the danger zone. Especially when James had rushed to the hospital first thing after hearing Jenny was in there. Even a blind person could tell how much he cared for her.
Though Jolene should've known by now that James had no feelings for her, she still felt hurt that the man cared so much for Jenny.
Just as tears were streaming down her face, the sound of footsteps came from the door. James was back.
"My.Js my sister alright?" Jolene asked, fearful of showing the hate she had for Jenny.
James said nothing, only sitting down on the couch. His face was dark and gloomy.
Jolene's heart skipped a beat. Why was James so upset? Did Jenny die?
After some brief overthinking, she asked tentatively once again, "Is my sister alright, Mr. Windsor?"
The moment she asked the question, James glared at her and stormed over to her side. In a flash, he wrapped a hand around her neck, tightening his grip.
"You just can't wait for something to happen to her, can you?" He hissed, eyes bloodshot. Jolene quivered frightfully in his grasp.
"I-L.no-" Jolene wheezed out, clawing at her neck as her air supply was slowly cut off.
Unfortunately for her, James didn't care that she was about to pass out. He snarled, "No? The Glasses were the ones behind this attack. You must've happily participated, too, no?"
Jolene was deeply offended. Neither her mother nor their family had informed her of their decision to do this. In fact, they barely got in touch with her these days.
What pained Jolene the most was that he addressed her as part of the Glasses.
Had he already grouped her in his mind with those bunch of people?
But she…she was still a Walter.
Tears fell down her eyes and landed on James' hand. As if regaining his senses, he let go of his grip around Jolene's neck.
Jolene gasped for air as she crumpled onto the floor, traumatized from her close brush to death.
After a moment, she murmured weakly, "You still like her…don't you?"
"Shut up!" James barked. "Go ask your mother who it was that sent this kill order. Now!"
"What if I don't want to?" Jolene gritted out. How could he assume she'd betray her mother just like that?
James crouched to her eye level and sneered, "Then I'll send you packing back to Walter Castle and call off the marriage. Well see if they still see you as their daughter then."
Jolene instantly paled.
Call off the marriage…
As terrified as she was of James, she wouldn't have anywhere else to go if he revoked their marriage agreement.
"F-fine. I'll call her."
In the end, Jolene still surrendered. She didn't have a choice any longer.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 752-Long Forgotten While Jolene gave Rowena a call, Jenny woke up in the hospital.
She just had a dream in which she was running on an endless path. At the peak of her despair, a person fell from the sky—Alec.
Seeing him, she was elated, thinking that Alec still liked her. She believed that his memory loss and disinterest were fake. However, amid her joy, she opened her eyes to the sight of Evan, not Alec. She was momentarily stunned but quickly remembered what had happened.
"What did you dream about? I saw you smiling earlier, but now you're not. Are you disappointed to see me?" Evan joked.
Coming to her senses, Jenny let out an awkward laugh. ’Evan, stop teasing me.' "Alright, fine. Are you hungry?" Evan asked.
Jenny nodded. Since she hadn't eaten for almost a day, she was hungry.
"You have to stay hungry a little longer. The doctor said you can't eat yet and can only drink a little water." He handed her the warm water in his hand.
Jenny rolled her eyes at him. "If I'm not allowed to eat, why did you ask me? Are you trying to pull my leg?"
"I'm just trying to lighten your mood," Evan said with a grin before helping her lean against the headboard.
Sitting up, Jenny finally had the opportunity to ask, "Evan, why did you suddenly come back? You haven't answered my question."
They hadn't seen each other for many years, and they hadn't had much contact during those years. Jenny had almost forgotten that he existed. "If I said you're the reason I returned, would you believe me?" Evan looked at her, his eyes filled with emotions. He believed that Jenny could see the emotions in his eyes.
Jenny did see it, but it only made her confused. 'Evan, would you stop joking around?' Evan let out a laugh to ease the tension. "I met Gilbert while I was abroad, and he invited me back to do work with him."
Jenny nodded, believing that this was the real reason.
"Where's Gilbert?" Jenny asked.
"I told him to go and rest. Since he worked hard to find you, I guessed you wouldn't want him to stay here and wait for you to wake up."
Jenny didn't deny that. Looking at Evan, she asked, 'You must have come with him to find me, right? Arent you tired?"
"I'm alright," Evan said. There was no way he could tell her that he had intentionally remained there just so that he could be the first person Jenny saw when she woke up.
"I'm fine now. You can go and rest." Jenny felt bad for making him stay. Even though they used to be close, many years had passed, and many things had changed.
However, Evan didn't leave. Looking at her, he recalled something from the past.
"Jenny, do you remember what you said when you confessed to me all those years ago?"
Jenny blushed slightly when she heard that. "Evan, that was years ago. I've long forgotten."
Disappointed, Evan said, "But I haven't. After all these years, I still remember it clearly."
It put Jenny in an awkward position, and she didn't know what to say.
Grinning, Evan said, "Don't think too much about it. I'm just trying to tell you that you were really cute back then. You've changed a bit now, and we've grown distant. Go to sleep. I'll stay here with you."
With that, Evan walked over to the nearby sofa and lay there, showing no intention of leaving.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 753-Can't You Feed Her?
The next day, Jenny woke up, and when Evan saw her awake, he approached her and said, "The doctor said you can drink some chicken soup today."
He then brought the chicken soup over and prepared to feed her with a spoon, saying, "Come, have some. It's not hot anymore."
"I'll do it myself," Jenny responded. Although he had always been kind to her, she felt a little uneasy and uncomfortable. Perhaps it was because they hadn't seen each other in so many years that Jenny wasn't used to it.
"Can you move it?" Evan asked, referring to the wound on Jenny's shoulder, which was still bandaged. She probably shouldn't move it.
Embarrassed, Jenny replied, "I still have my other hand."
Her right shoulder was injured, which rendered her right hand useless, but her left hand was fine, so she had no issue eating. Since she was so insistent, Evan didn't say more. With a nod, he put the chicken soup on the table in front of her, and she used her left hand to eat.
Halfway through her meal, Gilbert knocked on the door and walked in.
"Gilbert!" Jenny was happy to see him. After he went abroad, they were apart for the longest time ever.
Gilbert nodded at her. He was displeased when he noticed Jenny eating the chicken soup with her left hand. Turning to Evan, he asked, "Can't you feed Jenny? Must you make her use her left hand?"
He thought Evan would care for Jenny meticulously and was unhappy with his performance. Before Evan could explain, Gilbert picked up the spoon and began feeding Jenny.
Jenny smiled apologetically at Evan but didn't refuse Gilbert's assistance, leaving Evan feeling helpless.
"Jenny, aren't you biased?" Evan grumbled to himself.
After she had finished the chicken soup, Jenny felt much better. She asked Gilbert, ’Did you fight those mercenaries yesterday?' "No, they probably saw us coming and left quietly," Gilbert replied. He had decided not to chase after them as Jenny's safety was more important.
Jenny wasn't surprised to hear that. "Those mercenaries were hired by the Glasses."
"I heard everything from Mr. Walter. You took too much of a risk this time. I'm going to send some people to protect you, and you're not allowed to refuse,"
Gilbert said, knowing Jenny's character and how she always relied on herself.
She never took those who meant her harm seriously. However, there were always powerful people in the world, and nobody could defend themselves all the time, which was what happened to Jenny this time.
Jenny accepted his help as she had suffered the consequences. She understood why Gilbert was concerned about her.
"The Glasses spent a lot of money hiring mercenaries from abroad. I'm concerned that they have other motives. You should ask my father to be careful," Jenny said, fearing that their next target was Graham.
Gilbert nodded and then said, "Rest well and tend to your injuries. Mr.
Walter will take care of everything."
"Okay," Jenny said. As they understood the situation, they had likely started dealing with the Glasses, so she didn't have to worry.
When she was silent, Gilbert took out a phone from his bag and handed it to her, saying, "Here's your phone."
"Thank you, Gilbert," Jenny thanked him, surprised that Gilbert had found it for her. She had thought that she would have to buy a new one.
After deliberating for a while, Gilbert finally said, "When I found your phone, Alec was calling you. I answered the call."
Stunned, Jenny was silent.
"He said you called him. I guessed your phone somehow called the emergency contact when it was knocked away,’ Gilbert said. "I was angry that he didn't answer your call. Otherwise, he could have discovered that you were in trouble earlier, so I blocked him,"
He didn't want to hide that from Jenny.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 754-Don't You Still Like Him?
Jenny laughed when she heard that.
"Let's just leave him blocked. We have no need to contact each other anyway."
With that, she put away her phone, not intending to remove Alec from the list of blocked contacts.
Jenny was resentful because if Alec had answered her call, she might have been rescued earlier, and she wouldn't have been shot twice nor forced to jump off a cliff. Although she knew a river was below the cliff, she hadn't known if she would survive.
She wondered if Alec would feel guilty if she had died there. She had no way of knowing the answer and didn't care to know.
"Could you buy me a bottle of water?" Jenny asked Evan. "I'm a little thirsty. N Evan nodded and got up, understanding that she wanted to talk to Gilbert alone.
After Evan left, Jenny turned to Gilbert and asked, "Why did you bring him back, Gilbert?"
Gilbert sat down beside her bed and asked, "What's wrong? Are you upset to see him back?"
Without much emotion, Jenny replied, "I have no reason to be happy or upset about it."
Confused, Gilbert wondered if his good intentions were doing more harm than good. He asked, "I remember you used to like him when you were young. Dont you still like him?"
Jenny answered, "That was a long time ago. How could you take that seriously?"
Aside from Zack and Gilbert, Jenny had grown up with Evan. Since he was the only person who wasn't her sibling, who else could she have liked? It certainly didn't help that Evan was handsome and kind. However, she had matured since then, and her feelings for Evan had disappeared.
Gilbert felt a little frustrated as he thought Jenny still had feelings for Evan.
"I brought him back to manage my company. He's been doing really well abroad."
"That better be the case," Jenny replied. "If it's for any other reason, you better put a stop to it."
She gave him a side-eye. Having grown up with him, she knew what he was upto.
Gilbert was a little flustered as she didn't hold back from calling him out. He quickly answered, "Don't worry. I know what I'm doing."
When Jenny remained silent, Gilbert couldn't help putting in a good word for Evan. "Evan told me that he regrets rejecting your confession back then. I guess that kid definitely likes you." When she didn't answer, Gilbert said, "Alright, I won't say more."
He knew Jenny didn't want to hear about it.
Waving at her, he said, "I'll head back to work. I just returned, and there's still much to do."
Although he stopped pestering Jenny about Evan, he was still creating an opportunity for Evan to get closer to her.
Jenny nodded and said, "Be careful. Who knows what those mercenaries will do before they leave."
She didn't know what the Glasses would do next. Since they had spent a large sum hiring the mercenaries, they were unlikely to stop attacking her.
"Okay, I have arranged for people to watch over you, but you still need to be careful," Gilbert said before leaving the ward

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 756-I Have No Right to Blame You The atmosphere in the room turned awkward again. Jenny forced a laugh and pretended not to hear him.
"Didn't I ask you to buy me water? Where is it?"
"Uh, don't you have some water by your bed?’ Evan pointed to a flask of water on the bedside table. He was all but telling her that he knew she deliberately tried to get rid of him.
It made Jenny more embarrassed. Gritting her teeth, Jenny forced herself to say, "I wanted some bottled water."
"Oh, is that so? I'm sorry I didn't buy you any." Evan apologized to her without exposing her lie.
Jenny decided to move on from that topic. "I'm fine here. If you have something else to do, please go ahead and do it."
"I just returned to my home country. What is there to do?" He didn't have anything else planned, and he was also worried about Jenny.
"Didn't Gilbert bring you back to help him with work? Why don't you help him out?" Jenny knew there was no way Evan could weasel himself out of that.
With a helpless smile, Evan replied, "Sure, I'll take a look later."
Despite continuing with some small talk, Evan didn't reveal his intentions. He had just returned to the country, and he and Jenny were a little distant. Hence, he decided that there was no need to rush things.
After he left, Jenny relaxed a bit. Perhaps it had been too long since they last met. She wasn't as relaxed in front of Evan as she was in front of Gilbert.
Putting him out of her mind, she began browsing the news on her phone to kill the boredom of recuperation. Suddenly, her eyes spotted an article that had garnered widespread attention and discussion.
It was about Alec and Blake. The two had attended an event together, where Blake held Alec's arm. When a reporter asked what their status was, Blake said they were in a relationship. Alec stood aside and did not refute, tacitly agreeing.
Although there had been rumors about the two being together before, the article confirmed them. Jenny looked at the news, lost in thought.
Just then, Alec knocked on the door to Jenny's hospital room. When he walked in, Jenny hadn't turned off her phone yet, and he spotted the news she was reading.
For some reason, he felt a little flustered.
"Anything I can help you with, Mr. Faust?" Jenny turned off her phone and looked at him coldly.
Alec walked over and sat beside Jenny's bed, "Your injury.Js it alright?"
"What do you think, Mr. Faust? If I had shot Miss Watkins three times instead, would you still think it's no big deal?" Jenny knew she had to be rational. She knew it was Alec's choice of who he wanted to be with, but seeing them together still upset her. Hence, the way she spoke to him wasn't very nice.
Perhaps Alec felt guilty as he didn't retort to her ridicule.
"I'm sorry I didn't answer your call right away."
"It's fine, Mr. Faust. We're not that close anyway. It's normal for you not to answer my call." Jenny was cold and distant, all but telling him that she was upset.
Hearing that, Alec's heart suddenly felt heavy. 'I'm sorry."
His sudden apology surprised Jenny. "Mr. Faust, you don't have to apologize. I meant what I said. You didn't have to answer my call. Besides, I have no right to blame you," Jenny said, feeling a sharp pang in her heart.
She couldn't even understand how she and Alec could come to where they were after they were so close to getting back together.
Perhaps they were really not meant to be. They divorced after they married and broke up after they got together. Just when they were about to reconcile, something like this happened.
It was fate.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 756-'m Trying to Avoid That After Gilbert left, Jenny leaned against the bed and took out her phone, scrolling through the latest news. She checked her call log and saw that she had made an emergency call to Alec, but he hadn't answered and had only called her back about an hour later.
She continued thinking about what would have happened had Alec answered her call. At that time, she had just entered the mountains, so if someone had come to her rescue, she might not have had to suffer the two gunshots later on.
But then again, he had no obligation to come to her aid. She blamed herself for setting him as her emergency contact, which almost cost her life.
She decided to change her emergency contact to Gilbert. She felt confident that he would come to her rescue no matter what. As for Alec, she decided to keep him on the list of blocked contacts and have no further contact with him.
Although he had no obligation to save her, Jenny's heart still hurt and felt uncomfortable.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door of the ward. Jenny thought it was Evan returning and said, "Come in."
It was Derrick who entered instead. Jenny was hospitalized in Bardoff Hospital, and all the well-informed people in the hospital knew she was there. Derrick was one of them.
"Jenny, are you okay? I heard about your accident this morning and rushed over immediately." Derrick approached her and asked how she was doing.
Jenny forced a smile and said, 'I’m fine."
Derrick pointed to the bandaged wound on her body and asked curiously," How did you get hurt?"
"I fell," Jenny said.
Derrick thought to himself, "Even if you take me for a fool, at least come up with a better reason." However, he didn't say that out loud and instead said, "Oh, okay. Be more careful in the future."
Jenny didn't have much to say to Derrick, and she felt she had already made things clear to him. She didn't know why he was still here. The atmosphere became awkward, and Derrick could tell that Jenny didn't want to talk to him much. But he didn’t want to leave either, feeling he should do something.
Just then, Evan knocked on the door and came in. Seeing someone else in the room, he asked, "Who's this?” "A colleague," Jenny said.
"A friend," Derrick said.
They both answered, but with entirely different answers. Evan smiled and didn't pay it any mind, saying, "Why don't you take a seat, Jenny's colleague? Thank you for coming to see Jenny."
Derrick didn't like how Evan acted as if Derrick was a guest in Evan’s home.
"Jenny, who is he?" Derrick asked.
"My brother," Jenny answered.
"You are not related by blood, right?"
"No," Jenny confirmed.
Derrick felt uneasy, wondering if Evan was her "boyfriend" instead. Although he didn't know Evan, he could tell from his behavior and appearance that he was probably wealthy. Although it pained Derrick to admit it, Evan was even more handsome than him.
"Is there anything else? If there isn't, why don't you run along and do your own thing," Jenny said to him, not wanting to talk to him any longer.
Derrick nodded with a smile. "Okay, then I'll go busy myself. Take care of your injury, and I'll treat you to a meal when you recover."
Jenny smiled but didn't agree. She didn't want to have a meal with Derrick.
Soon, Derrick left, and Jenny turned to Evan. "Do you still want to be my brother?" "No, I'm trying to avoid that," Evan said, a broad smile on his face

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 759-Why Can't You Just Die?
Jenny stayed in the hospital for about a week, during which the Glasses went bankrupt. It didn't surprise her. After all, Graham and James had been preparing for so long. If they couldn't handle the Glasses, they would have wasted all their time.
On the day she was supposed to leave the hospital, a patient was admitted and specifically asked for Jenny. Although she was on leave, she still went to take a look.
"Alicia?" Jenny was a little surprised when she saw the person lying on the hospital bed. She never thought she would see her again.
Although Alicia had sworn she would seek revenge the last time they met, Jenny didn't care since she didn't think Alicia couldn't do anything to her.
"I heard that you almost got killed?" Alicia asked. Perhaps because of her illness, her face was a little pale. Although it had been cured through surgery, her former health was still not restored, and she needed to take medicine all the time and avoid rigorous activities.
Jenny frowned, ‘What do you want to say?"
"You are so lucky. Why can't you just die?" Alicia looked at her with unabashed hatred.
Jenny chuckled. Before she could reply, Alicia continued, "You killed my brother, but you have no remorse. I guess the lives of ordinary people like us are as insignificant as ants in your eyes."
"That was his own fault, and it has nothing to do with me." Jenny didn't think she had done anything wrong. Although she didn't expect Jonathan to commit suicide in prison, even if he did, it wouldn't change the fact that he had assaulted her. She would have been killed if he hadn't been caught. There was no way Jenny would sacrifice her life for his sake.
Her response only made Alicia hate her more.
"In the end, my brother sacrificed his life for others. Why didn't you go after the mastermind instead of my brother?"
"I wanted to find the mastermind, but your brother refused to tell me who it was.
What could I do?"
If Jonathan had been willing to tell Jenny who the mastermind was, Jenny might have even pleaded for mercy for him, as she still admired him.
However, Alicia didn't know about it. Sneering at her, Jenny continued," Your brother didn't reveal the mastermind because he hoped that the mastermind would look after you even in his death. But he was still too naive. After he died, no one in the hospital cared about you."
Alicia was shocked when she heard that. "Impossible!"
If no one cared about her, how were her hospital bills paid?
"I paid for your surgery because I pitied Jonathan and you. Little did I know saving your life would create another enemy of mine," Jenny said, chuckling.
Turning pale, Alicia refused to believe that Jenny had saved her.
"Lies! Yvonne paid for my surgery!"
"It appears that you know that she is the mastermind."
When Alicia remained silent, Jenny said, "If Yvonne were such a kind person, your brother wouldn't have died in prison. I'm telling you all this not because I want you to thank me. Really, I can't be bothered by that.
However, I want to remind you not to let others take advantage of you."
It took Jenny some time to realize how odd it was that Alicia thought Jenny had caused Jonathan's death. Hence, she suspected someone had told her, and it was most likely Yvonne.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 760-What's the Point?
With that, Jenny left. She didn't care whether Alicia believed her or if she appreciated her. Alicia could easily find out the truth if she spent some time asking around at the hospital where she had her surgery done.
However, Jenny couldn't be bothered. It was the day of her discharge, and she didn't want her mood to be affected because of Alicia.
When Evan came to pick her up, Jenny didn't know how to feel about it.
"Where is Gilbert? Why isn't he here to pick me up?"
"Gilbert? You know he’s a workaholic," Evan said with a chuckle as he led Jenny out of the hospital.
If Gilbert had heard what Evan said, he would have been furious. A workaholic?
It was Evan who didn’t want him to come. Evan had told him he would be a third wheel if he went.
Nonetheless, he didn't really insist on going either, as he knew that he really had to create an opportunity for Evan. Otherwise, the man might not be able to win Jenny over.
Meanwhile, Jenny was oblivious to whatever arrangement they had agreed upon. While Evan went to get the car, she waited at the hospital entrance.
Suddenly there was a cry from inside the hospital.
"Someone is about to jump!’ Jenny instinctively turned and followed everyone's gaze to see someone sitting on the hospital's rooftop. Although it was quite far and Jenny couldn't see the person's face, she could vaguely see their hairstyle, which looked familiar.
Suddenly, she thought of Alicia, who she had just met, as she had the same hairstyle. Disregarding whether the person was Alicia or not, Jenny quickly ran and took the elevator to the top floor. When Jenny reached the rooftop, she saw Alicia sitting on the edge.
Her heart raced as she cried, "Alicia! What are you doing?"
"What am I doing? I'm going to find my brother."
Jonathan was her only relative, and now he was gone. When she found out that Jenny had saved her, she realized that the person she thought was her enemy was actually her benefactor. Instantly, her resentment disappeared, and she suddenly felt like life wasn’t worth living.
Jenny didn't expect her to react in such a manner. Although she was annoyed, Jenny tried to calm her down.
"Calm down, Alicia. You're still young. There are so many possibilities waiting for you to explore in the future.’ At this point, the hospital had already called the police, so ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks were on their way. However, Alicia seemed determined to die. She stood on the edge of the rooftop. If she took another step, she would be gone from the world.
Terrified, Jenny tried to comfort her, saying, ’Alicia, don't act impulsively. Think about your brother. He gave his life to save you. If you die like this, how can you face him?"
Her words seemed to work. Stunned, Alilcia didn't take another step further.
Jenny walked toward her slowly as she spoke, "If you die like this, how can you meet your brother? The life you’re living now is all thanks to him. How can you be so irresponsible?"
Alicia gritted her teeth, "Shut up! My brother wouldn't have died if it weren't for you."
"If you hate me that much, seek revenge for your brother. What's the point of committing suicide?" At this point, Jenny would rather Alicia hate her because only hatred could give her the will to live.
Gritting her teeth and glaring at Jenny, she said, "If you wanted me to seek revenge, you shouldn't have told me everything. You saved my life. How can I hate you? How can I find someone to kill you?"
