Ch. 701..710

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 701-A Decision After Jolene and James got engaged, Graham and James no longer needed to keep their interactions secret or discreet. There were often rumors of a collaboration between the two families, but nothing concrete had materialized from it yet, much to the curiosity of the people in Bardoff City. They were sure the two families were working together but didn't know what they were up to.

Jenny didn't bother herself with these matters as she couldn't intervene with them dealing with the Glasses. She continued to work as a junior employee in the sales department every day. Perhaps because Jolene and James were engaged, everyone assumed that Jenny would be the obvious choice to inherit the Walter family business. Hence, people in the company were more polite to her, and hardly anyone dared to oppose her.

Even when she went out to negotiate with clients, her success rate was almost ninety percent, making her the top performer in the entire department in no time.

Jenny felt somewhat helpless about this, knowing it would be unfair to the other employees if she continued to stay in the department. The commission they could receive would decrease as she took up all the sales.

After much hesitation, she finally made a decision. She went to Graham's office.

He'd just finished talking with James. Seeing her arrive, he smiled and beckoned for her to come over. "Jenny, come and sit here."

Jenny walked over and looked at James. "Are you discussing your plans?"

"We're done," James replied.

Jenny nodded, curious about the progress. "How's it going with the Glasses?"

The plan had been in progress for some time now, and with the contract that the Glasses had signed with her before, it should have already taken effect, but she hadn't heard any news yet.

"The Glasses have lost several projects recently in succession, and I guess they will soon realize it's me targeting them," Graham said with confidence, a slight smile on his lips.

Jenny raised an eyebrow. "Then you should be careful. Who knows what the Glasses might do when they go crazy."

"Dont worry. If they dare to make a move, they'll be digging their own grave. "

Graham wasn't worried about it at all. If the Glasses really took action, they would be doing themselves in and giving Graham more hold over them.

Upon hearing him, Jenny didn't ask further. Graham knew much more about business matters than her. Since he said it wasn't a problem, she didn't need to worry about it.

James noticed that she seemed to have something to say to Graham, so he announced, "I still have some work back at the company, so I'll take my leave first."

"Be careful with the Glasses. If they can trace it back to me, they can find you, too," Graham cautioned.

James nodded, but his eyes were filled with disdain, clearly not taking it to heart.

As he got up and walked past Jenny, he couldn't help but ask, "How about having lunch together at noon?"

Jenny was taken aback, as they hadn't had a meal together since the incident with Jolene. It was unexpected for James to invite her for a meal now, so she was slightly surprised.

"No matter what, you're still my friend. We shouldn't let others affect our relationship." James smiled with the same expression he'd always had in his eyes when he looked at her.

Jenny smiled back and nodded. "Okay, James. Wait for me downstairs. I'll come to find you after I finish talking with my father."

She had been worried that James would distance himself from her because of Jolene. But now she knew her worries were unnecessary and was naturally in a better mood.

James agreed and quickly left the office. Jenny withdrew her gaze and looked at Graham, only to realize his gaze was somewhat cold

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 702-Trust Your Judgment "What's wrong?" Jenny asked, puzzled.

Graham retracted his gaze and looked at her. "James is a good person, but he is engaged to Jolene. I don't want you having anything to do with him."

He thought favorably of James, and he still did. But this didn't mean that he could tolerate him being close to both of his daughters, especially Jenny.

Jenny was stunned. She instantly understood what Graham meant and was speechless. "You're overthinking things. He's my senior. He's just like family to me. Can't I have a meal with family?"

"I know you don't mean it that way, Jenny, but does James feel the same way?

Can you guarantee that people will keep their mouths shut?" Graham was grim.

He was truly trying to act in Jenny's best interests.

Jenny was exasperated. She looked at her father, saying, "I don't care what people think of me as long as I have a clear conscience."

Seeing that he was unable to convince Jenny, Graham shook his head." Just don't grow too close with him. Forget the outsiders. What would Jolene think?’ "Why should I be concerned about what she thinks?" Jenny scoffed. Jolene would come to bother her regardless and blame every single inconvenience on her. Thus, whether Jenny had lunch with James wouldn't make a difference.

Graham had no idea how to respond. He was silent for a while before sighing, then saying, "Forget it. We'll drop it. What did you come here for?"

Normally, Jenny wouldn't come to see him in the company unless she had a reason. Graham knew this very well.

"I came here to talk about my resignation," Jenny said, not beating around the bush.

Graham wasn't surprised. "That's alright. There's no point in you staying on in the sales He had assigned her to the sales department in order to train her, but it seemed pointless now. Jenny was much more capable than he had thought, so the training was unnecessary.

"I will assign you as my assistant so that you will be introduced to the heart of the system. This way, you'll inherit the company sooner," Graham suggested.

But Jenny frowned, upset. "Didn't we agree on letting trustworthy and capable people take over the company?"

"That's true, but you cant be completely clueless about how things work.’ Graham was amused. Jenny didn't seem to want to understand how the company worked at all, but that wouldn't cut it. There was no guarantee that the people they got to take over the company would be dependable forever.

What if someone betrayed them? What if Jenny was manipulated without her knowing?

Jenny waved her hand nonchalantly. "I trust your judgment."

Graham was speechless. He didn't trust his judgment, but here Jenny was, saying that she did. He was at a loss for what to say.

"Well, since you don't want to inherit the company, I won't force you to. However, I hope you'd find a good husband to whom I can entrust the company." Graham brought up his request. He thought that this was the best solution. If Jenny could pick a husband from the pool of suitors he had compiled, everything would be perfect.

He placed the documents of the eligible bachelors on the table. "These are all young and talented men. Their fathers are all loyal employees of Walter Inc. I trust them all very much, which is why I'd like to nurture them."

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 703-Finding A Good Husband Jenny was speechless. She had walked in there expecting to talk about her resignation, but here they were, discussing future husbands.

She looked at the documents on the table. Graham even opened the folders for her neatly, so she would see their photographs on the covers. They were indeed young and handsome, but she had no intention of finding a husband.

"You're thinking too much." She smiled dryly, not knowing what to say.

Graham, on the other hand, didn’t think so. He explained, "Since you're uninterested in managing the company, these are the people I’ve specifically chosen to nurture. Wouldn't it be perfect if you married one of them?’ The corners of Jenny's lips twitched. She couldn't smile at all. "Pretty much, n "I know you're not too happy about it, but this is just a suggestion. If no one here catches your eye, you can bring over one you like, and I'll nurture him step by step. I'll let him take over the company.’ Although Graham trusted these men, they were not part of his family. He would be more at ease if the successor were his own.

Jenny didn't want to argue with him. It was still early, so she responded carelessly. "Alright, whatever you say."

"Are you agreeing to it?" Graham smiled.

"Agreeing to what?" Jenny shook her head. She had not agreed to anything.

"To find a good husband that will take over the company," Graham said. He couldn't bear to let Jenny become part of someone else’s family tree.

Who would run the business if Jenny married someone outside their circle?

Jenny rubbed her temples. "How can I guarantee that? What if they don't agree to it?"

"Well, find someone who does." Graham was upset. If Jenny left and Graham retired, his days would be filled with endless fighting with Rowena.

The thought of it sent chills up his spine.

Jenny sighed, replying, "We'll see when the time comes. It's too soon to say anything yet. You're still young; you can take charge of this company for another ten years."

"Young? I'm already old. I'm not young anymore." Graham sighed. He didn't think he was young at all.

Jenny didn't want to press the topic further. She said, "This seals my resignation. I won't be coming to the company anymore starting tomorrow."

"Alright, whatever you say." Graham nodded, not stopping her.

"Well, I have to go." James was waiting downstairs. She couldn't let him wait for long.

Graham knew at once why she was so anxious to leave. He waved her off, adding, "Please just try to keep a distance from James in case Jolene comes looking for trouble."

Although he knew that his daughters did not see eye to eye, Graham hoped that they could at least tolerate each other once Jolene married James.

"I wouldn't be the one to start the trouble. If she does come to bother me, I won’t hold back.* Jenny felt the need to make this clear in case Graham thought she was merciless later on.

Graham sighed. He understood what Jenny meant. "Alright."

"I'm going to leave now." Jenny waved and left, walking out of Graham's office.

Graham watched her leave and sighed, shaking his head. He couldn't bear to think of the sight of his two daughters fighting to the bone.

He had to marry Jolene off quickly. At least they would see each other less and wouldn't fight as much.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 704-Rip Her Face Apart Walking out of Graham's office, Jenny didn't go down immediately to get James.

suggested dividing her performance bonus for the month with everyone in the department.

Jenny's performance that month had broken their records. With such a huge bonus, even if it were divided, everyone would get a significant amount.

Jenny smiled, shaking her head. "Of course I'm not. I won't be coming to the office anymore starting tomorrow. Thank you for looking after me all these days."

I didn't do much. You're very capable."

He knew very well that Jenny was destined to be the heir of Walter Inc. This was the future president he was talking to. He couldn't anger her.

However, he could not suck up to her. After all, he had worked with her for a while and understood her personality more or less.

She wouldn't mind if someone didn't suck up to her. But if someone deliberately attempted to win her favor, it would backfire on them.

"That's that, then. You can help me notify the others. I'm not going to say anything." Jenny would be there for a long time if she did. James was downstairs, and she couldn't let him wait any longer.

happens in the future, the entire department will be on your side."

"I'll remember that. Thanks.’ Jenny could tell that he was expressing his loyalty to her. She didn't reject it. It didn't matter whether she managed the company in the future; it would be nice to have someone on her side.

Then, she left the building and went up to James' car.

"Sorry for the wait," Jenny said awkwardly. "There were some things I had to do."

"It's okay." James shook his head. He didn't mind.

The car moved. James asked her what she wanted for lunch, and she replied, "I'm down for anything. I can't think of a place right now."

James didn't ask anything else, and they fell into silence.

On the other side of the city, in James' villa, Jolene put a lot of effort into preparing lunch.

She had never cooked in her life. These few days, she had been tormented by James. Not only did she have to prepare meals daily, but she also had to be scolded if she messed up. She felt as if she would collapse at any second.

She looked at the four dishes on the table. They probably didn't taste very good, but it was edible, at least.

She hoped that James would be in a better mood today.

While her mind drifted off, someone sent her a message. She took her phone, her worried expression instantly shifting to one of anger.

It was a photo of Jenny sitting in James' car.

The person who had sent her the text was Philippa, her assistant from when she worked at Walter Inc. They no longer kept in touch after Jolene left, but now she was unexpectedly sending her a message.

Jolene didn't care about that, though. She only cared about Jenny and James.

They were having lunch together, and she was at home, waiting for him to come with food already prepared.

She was furious. In one swift motion, she swept all the food off the table, scattering them all over the floor.

"Bitch!" she screamed.

She was already engaged to James, but Jenny was still seducing him.

In a fit of rage, she ran upstairs to put on new clothes and stormed out. She was going to rip Jenny's face apart.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 705-No One Cared About Her James and Jenny sat in a private booth in the restaurant.

Jenny wanted to ask him how he was doing, but she didn't know how to phrase it. She was afraid that she'd make him upset.

"I've been so busy lately that I haven't had the time to catch up with you. How have you been?” James asked. He had a smile on his face as if things were just like before.

Jenny felt even more worried seeing him like this. ’I'm doing pretty well. What about you?"

"Me?* James raised his eyebrows and slowly poured her a cup of coffee." I'm fine."

In fact, with someone to yell at every day he got home, he felt even better than before.

Jenny wanted to ask him about his situation with Jolene, but she knew it would upset him if she did. She had to keep it to herself.

Not long after, the waiter served them their food.

"You've lost weight. Have things been hectic lately at Walter Inc?" James asked, handing her a plate of mashed potatoes.

Jenny shook her head. "Not at all. On the contrary, I think I gained weight."

"Nonsense. You should be eating more." James handed her yet another plate of food as if he was worried that she didn't have enough.

Jenny didn't refuse the food. Back when they were under Mr. Birkett's mentorship, James would give her food just like this.

At the thought of Mr. Birkett, Jenny asked, ’Have you heard from Mr.

Birkett lately? He's been in Skaland for quite some time now."

Mr. Birkett would usually visit Skaland two weeks at a time. But now, he seemed to be there for a while.

"I'm not sure, either. He did try to contact me before, but I wasn't around.’ James didn’t think it was unusual. He smiled, saying, "Old people are like that. He probably found a really nice place and decided to settle down.' "Really?’ Jenny ate, feeling worried.

"If you're worried about him, I'll get someone to find him," James said, sensing she was anxious.

Jenny thought about it for a while. In the end, her anxiety took over. "Yes. He's already of old age, and no one is by his side."

Mr. Birkett had trained a few people, but Jenny was his last student. She didn't contact her other seniors often, only James. When she joined, only James was there. The rest had gone off on their own paths.

"Alright. I'll get someone to find him when I get back. Don't you worry," James promised.

He learned from Mr. Birkett not because he loved painting; he just wanted to enhance his wisdom. He didn't expect to meet Jenny there. In retrospect, it was the best decision he had ever made.

As they ate, Jolene reached the entrance of the restaurant.

She bribed the waiters and learned from them that Jenny and James were in the private booth. She rushed toward them at once.

She slid open the door. They were stunned, turning their heads toward her.

"Jenny, you bitch!"

Jolene darted at Jenny before they could even react. Right before her sharp claws landed on Jenny's face, she was sent flying by one of Jenny's kicks. She crashed onto the ground, considerably hurt.

"Sorry. Old habits die hard,' Jenny apologized, but there was no hint of remorse on her face. Jolene came looking for trouble, and Jenny wasn't going to hold back.

"You. J…" Jolene stammered, unable to even say a word. Tears streamed down her face.

What a pity. No one there cared about her.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 706-I Hate You It took a long while for Jolene to prop herself up. She looked at James and Jenny standing together as if they were the couple and she was the mistress.

A thunderstorm of emotions surged through her chest.

"I'm your fiancee, James! How could you do this to me?" Jolene looked at James with tears in her eyes, holding back her pain. She thought he would appreciate her effort these past few days and would at least stand up for her at that moment.

Alas, he did not.

Jenny looked at her coldly, but James' gaze was even colder.

He walked toward her and lifted her chin. "Who let you in here? Who do you think you are?"

"If you want to stay in my house, you'll have to suck it up. Don't you dare say that something is going on between Jenny and me. Even if there was, you have no right to point it out." His tone was ice cold. He was gripping her hard, and her chin quickly turned red.

Jolene was so angry that she burst into sobs, but crying was no use. James would only hate her even more.

"Fuck off!" He waved her off, not wishing to see her for another second.

In that instant, Jenny pitied Jolene. But she had only herself to blame. This was all her doing.

Jolene left. She couldn't stay. Things would only be worse if she did. However, Jenny had now witnessed another side to James.

"Sorry about that. She disrupted your mood," James apologized to Jenny. He was even a little embarrassed to meet her eyes.

Jenny shook her head. She didn't mind. "Why did you let her stay with you if you hate her so much?"

James could ignore her completely. Their engagement didn't matter. As long as they didn't marry, there was really nothing much between them.

After some time, once they found something to use against Jolene, they would have a reason to cancel the wedding. If that happened, even the Windsors would have nothing to say.

"Since she wants to be with me so much, I'll fulfill her wishes." He just wasn't sure if she regretted it yet.

James' face was dark and moody. Jenny rarely ever saw this side of him." Are you planning on marrying her?"

"Let's just eat." James didn't reply to her question. There were just some things that he couldn't change.

Jenny didn't press the issue. She knew it as well.

Jolene, who had left the restaurant, called Rowena on her phone. Her mother met up with her quickly and sent her to the hospital.

"I hate her, Mom." Jolene's gaze was empty as she lay on the hospital bed.

Hurt and resentment bubbled in Rowena's heart when she saw the state her daughter was in. "Don't worry. I'll make Jenny pay."

"Can you really?" Jolene wasn't too sure.

Seeing her daughter lose confidence, Rowena whispered something in her ear, and Jolene's eyes instantly brightened. "Is that for real, Mom? Can we really take down the Walters?" Jolene no longer cared whether she could inherit Walter Inc. All she cared about was not letting Jenny win.

Jenny would be an easy target if she didn't have the Walters to fall back on.

Rowena shushed her and said softly, "I've already contacted your uncle.

Someone is cooperating with us in Walter Inc, too. Don't worry. They will meet their demise soon enough." "That's fantastic." Jolene and Rowena shared the same thoughts. If Graham was going to play favorites, they would just demolish the Walters. Without the Walters, Jenny would be a nobody.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 707-Quit Pretending Jenny had no idea what Rowena and Jolene were conspiring, but she had her own line of defense.

Jenny knew something was up the night Rowena snuck off with someone for a secret meeting. Once Jenny learned of the person's identity, she knew at once that Rowena was planning something.

Rowena probably didn't know that she had long been targeted by Jenny. The moment she did anything to harm the Walters, Jenny would instantly be able to use something against her.

But before Jenny could find out Rowena’s secret, Randy found her.

"Jenny." Randy looked at the beautiful woman before him, his eyebrows furrowing.

Jenny was a little surprised to see him. "What's up, Randy?"

Since leaving Walter Inc, Jenny had been looking for a job at a hospital. What she truly wanted was to be a doctor.

"I have something to ask you," Randy said. "The Glasses have been losing quite a few projects lately, and our research shows that it might have something to do with Walter Inc."

He stared hard at Jenny as if he could see through her. However, reality disappointed him. Jenny honestly had no idea about it.

She knew that Graham and James wanted to take down the Glasses, but she didn't know the concrete plan. Thus, when Randy expressed his suspicion, she looked bewildered. "Is that so? It could be a misunderstanding. The Walters and Glasses are still working together."

The project that Randy had approached her with was still in motion. She didn't know when the Glasses would reveal that the plot of land was unsuited for the project.

"I think it's unlikely, too,’ Randy said. However, his father insisted it had something to do with the Walters. That was why he came to hear Jenny's opinion.

Jenny smiled at him and said, "That's great of you to think that. We work together, and we're relatives. The Walters would never target the Glasses. Don't worry."

Randy frowned. He still thought that there was something off with Jenny." But the Glasses have been unlucky lately. There must be someone pulling strings behind the scenes."

Jenny looked at him and replied carelessly, "Could it be one of the other elites?

It must hurt for some people that Jolene is being married off to the Windsors."

"The Britts?’ Randy instantly thought of the Britts. Jolene was supposed to marry Brandon, after all.

But what did that have to do with the Glasses? Shouldn't the Britts be messing with the Walters instead?

As if guessing his thoughts, Jenny said, "The Britts won't have the balls to target the Walters."

The Britts were afraid of the Walters but not so much of the Glasses. After all, the Glasses did not compare to the Walters.

Randy thought it was likely.

Seeing that he had believed her, Jenny thought that he was stupid. However, she didn't let it show. "Is there anything else you'd like to talk about? If not, I'm going to work.’ "What are you being so anxious for? Why don't we have a meal together?"

Randy suddenly smiled at her and even attempted to lay an arm around Jenny's shoulder.

She dodged him, disgust flashing through her eyes. "I'm busy. I'm going to leave now."

Before he could say anything else, Jenny got up to leave.

Randy watched her leave, his gaze turning dark. "Quit pretending. Let's see how cocky you are when the Walters are destroyed."

When that time came, he would destroy her completely. He would make her kneel to him and beg.

"What are you looking at?" Not far off, Blake went to Alec's side and followed his gaze. She saw Randy's grim expression.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 708-What Does That Have to Do with You?

Blake raised an eyebrow. She walked toward Randy.

"Mr. Glass," she said. Although she disliked Randy, he was still the successor of the Glasses. She could use him to her advantage.

Randy immediately cleared up the expression on his face when he heard her.

When he saw that it was Blake, he smiled. "Miss Watkins. What a coincidence that you're here."

"Yes. Alec and I are here on some business," she said, looking at Alec.

Randy only now realized that Alec was there, too. He deflated a little. "Oh, it's Mr. Faust."

Alec was the director of Faust Group. Everyone called him Mr. Faust to not embarrass him since he was part of the Ten Elites. However, he was only a pawn to the Fausts. He would basically never reach the inner workings of the company.

"Why don't we have a meal together since we've bumped into each other?"

Randy looked at Blake with a smile. He directed his question to her and couldn't care less about Alec.

Blake hesitated. She looked at Alec, who was walking over. "I have other plans,"

Alec said.

His words were simple enough. He didn't care if Blake was going to eat with Randy. He wasn't going to join them either way.

Blake stiffened. In everyone else's eyes, Alec depended on her to get where he was. However, Blake knew that Alec never really thought much of her. He didn't care about her feelings, even when they were in public.

"You can go do your own stuff." Randy waved at him. It would be great if Alec didn't tag along, anyway. Randy would be able to grow closer to Blake.

Alec's face darkened. He said nothing, but he didn't leave.

Blake smiled. "I can't eat with you today, Randy. Maybe another day."

Randy looked displeased. He knew Blake wouldn’t go because of Alec, so he vented his anger on him. "You used to like Jenny so much, Mr. Faust. And now you’re abandoning Blake once you're done with her. That's not very nice of you, is it?"

Alec frowned. "What does that have to do with you?"

Randy was angered by his words. Where had Alec gotten the balls to go against him? Was he honestly thinking of himself as a Faust?

"You and Jenny really do share the same temper," Randy said sarcastically. He didn't know where they got their boldness from.

Alec said nothing, but his displeasure was shown clearly on his face. Blake didn't want them to fight, so she said, "We'll be going now, Randy. I'll treat you to a meal some other day."

She pulled Alec away.

Watching them leave, Randy's expression darkened. "These women are blind."

First, there was Jenny, and now, Blake. Why would they fall in love with someone who had nothing?

In Randy's eyes, Alec was a nobody. He might be a Faust, but everyone knew that the Fausts didn't even consider him to be a part of their family.

Alec's face remained grim even as they left in the car. He was obviously unhappy.

"I know you don't like people like him, but we're at a critical stage. We don't need to anger people like that." They were better off insulting someone more forgiving than Randy.

Alec murmured in response, but it went unnoticed. He could dislike Randy, but he couldn't cross the line.

"My parents have invited us to a meal. Are you coming?" Blake asked nervously.

She couldn't look him in the eye.

Alec frowned and looked at her. "We're only pretending. Didn't you tell them that?"

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 709-The Interview Everyone was spreading rumors about them being together. Since both Alec and Blake had not cleared anything up, it was considered a confirmation.

They were in agreement. Blake would help him inherit the Fausts if Alec agreed to be with her.

"How can I tell them about something like this?' Blake shook her head. Her parents would rage at her if she did.

Moreover, Alec might think that what they had was fake, but Blake didn't share the same sentiment.

She noticed he was unhappy and said, 'It's fine if you don't want to go.

We're just going to have a simple meal. I told my father you wished to be the Fausts' next heir. He thinks favorably of you. He's probably inviting you over to talk about this."

Alec did not want to join the Watkins because he did not think he and Blake were a couple. At most, they were collaborators.

But Blake was a psychologist. She saw through Alec's heart clearly. She knew that what he wanted right now was to inherit the Fausts. Hence, when she brought the matter up, Alec didn't seem as repulsed.

"We'll go, then." Alec agreed to it.

Blake smiled at once. She knew that Alec would agree as long as the Fausts were involved.

It didn't matter if what they had between them was fake. She would make them a real couple one day.

It wasn't because of her parents' support that she wanted to help Alec win the position as the Fausts' next heir. It was because she didn't want any other woman to be with him. She wanted to hold him tightly in her grasp so that no one else would be able to have him.

Jenny walked out of the director's office in Bardoff Hospital.

She had plenty of hands-on experience and had published many journals. On top of that, she was a famous teacher. Hence, her interview went very well.

She believed that the letter of employment would arrive in a few days' time.

When that happened, she would be able to return to the operating room to do what she loved most.

"Jenny?"

A man's voice floated over. Jenny looked at him, surprised. ’Derrick."

They met at Parrington Medical University's anniversary celebration. When Derrick had learned that she worked in Parrington Hospital, he had mocked her.

But then, when he knew where she had received her tutelage, he ceased mocking her.

"Why are you here?" Derrick was surprised. He had heard that Jenny had resigned from Parrington Hospital, but he didn't know she was in Bardoff City.

On top of that, regular citizens didn't know about Jenny's identity as the Walters' daughter. People would not really know unless they paid attention to the elites.

As for doctors like him who worked day and night and had to write journals even in their free time, they had no time to pay attention to such news.

Jenny smiled and said, "I resigned from Parrington Hospital, and I'm preparing to work here."

There wasn't much to hide from him. Derrick would find out about it sooner or later.

Thank goodness they specialized in different areas. Jenny didn't want to be Derrick's colleague.

"Is that…true?’ Shock flashed through Derrick's eyes, along with a trace of jealousy. He knew that with Jenny's identity and experience, getting a job there would be a breeze. But he had overcome several obstacles and challenges to get to where he was. Naturally, he felt upset.

Jenny nodded. She saw the hatred in his eyes and felt puzzled. She hadn't wronged him.

"You're so brilliant. You’ve probably already passed the interview," Derrick said cautiously.

"I'm not certain. It might take a few days for me to know." Although Jenny didn't think it would be hard to get in, she didn't want to discuss things that were not yet confirmed.
