Ch. 621..630
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 621-Are You Giving up on Alec Too?
"You should go back to Bardoff City." Paul's voice sounded behind Jenny, and she turned back to look at him, surprised. "There's no point staying here," he said, making Jenny frown.
She looked at him. "This is my business."
She didn't think they were close enough for her to heed his suggestions.
"Idiot," Paul said. "Alec's been targeted for murder. It's obvious that he's wronged someone and that someone is not from Parrington."
These past two days, he had gone over Parrington with a fine-toothed comb. It was definitely not someone from Parrington. The only other possibility was someone from Bardoff City.
"I don't know whose anger he invoked in Bardoff City. But you should know. I want you to investigate things clearly when you're back," Paul said. Jenny was about to speak, but he continued. "There's no sign of Alec here. That means he might not be dead. He might have been taken away. If you find them, you might be able to rescue him."
It was not impossible. What if their motives all along were not to kill but to kidnap? It would explain why they could not find Alec.
Jenny frowned. After careful consideration, she thought that it was a likely possibility. She looked at Paul with a mixture of confusion. She was a little surprised. "Why are you helping me?"
"Helping you?" It was as if Paul had heard a joke. "I'm helping Alec. He's my best friend. I wouldn't just sit back and watch if something happened to him."
However, his abilities were limited. He didn't have many lackeys in Bardoff City.
He had no other reason to tell Jenny all this.
"Aren't you angry that Alec didn't help you when I took Stephanie away from you?" Jenny was curious to know how Paul’s mind worked.
"It doesn't matter if I'm mad. He's my best friend. I will not sit back and do nothing.' He could be mad at Alec for not helping him before, but that didn't change the fact that he wanted to rescue him.
It made Jenny look at him a little differently. Maybe he wasn't all that bad.
She nodded. "Alright. I'll investigate once I get back. You'll have to hold down the fort in Parrington."
"Alright." Paul nodded. He watched her leave. Then, he said, "Take care of Stephanie. I'll be in Bardoff City as soon as I can."
Jenny's back stiffened. She didn't think that was a good thing.
She left, but Paul still stood on the cliff. He looked at the raging waters below. ’I hope you got the right person, Alec.’ He sincerely hoped that Jenny would find a lead. His instincts told him that Alec's disappearance definitely had something to do with Jenny.
It could even be the Walters' doing. They would want to prevent them from being together. If that really were the case, Jenny's decisions would be critical.
Jenny had no idea that Paul was suspicious of the Walters. She believed in Graham. She wouldn't think that he would commit such a heinous act. Her suspicions were cast on the Glasses. Right now, they were the likeliest to do such a thing.
With this thought in mind, she booked a flight back to Bardoff City. But before that, she visited the hospital to see Old Mr. Faust.
He looked even frailer than before, probably because of Alec's disappearance.
Jenny was worried. "Grandpa."
"You're here. Sit down, Jenny," Old Mr. Faust said. He did his best to smile but failed.
"I'm going back to Bardoff City, Grandpa," Jenny said.
Old Mr. Faust’s hand paused midair. ' Are you giving up on Alec too?”
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 622-Complications Jenny knew he had misunderstood, so she hurried to explain. "No, Grandpa. I'm not giving up on him."' She then told him about Paul's suspicions. "I want to head back to Bardoff City to investigate. If Alec was really kidnapped, he might be waiting for us to save him right now.'"
She wouldn't find any clues staying in Parrington, so she might as well head back to Bardoff City. She might found out something.
Old Mr. Faust knew he had misunderstood her. "That makes sense. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding."
"It's alright, Grandpa." Jenny smiled. She didn't mind. "I will definitely find Alec, so you must take care of yourself."
"Alright. You may go. I believe in you." He smiled at her, feeling warmth in his heart.
Although Jenny had not yet agreed to be Alec's girlfriend, her attitude showed that she liked him. No matter what, his grandson's efforts were not in vain.
After a simple conversation with him, Jenny immediately rushed to the airport.
She couldn't meddle in Faust Group's affairs. However, both Vincent and Paul were around. Faust Group would not be thrown into turmoil. It was best if she went to investigate the Glasses at once.
Meanwhile, in a private villa somewhere in Bardoff City, a strikingly beautiful woman walked into a room. A person lay on the bed with various machines next to him. It was just like those in a hospital.
The woman looked at the doctor standing nearby. "When will he wake up?"
"The damage on his brain is too serious. It's hard to tell,’ the doctor replied.
Then, he shared his analysis. "Based on his current situation, even if he wakes up, the damage in his brain might cause him to experience a few…complications."
She frowned. "Complications? Like what?’ "He might lose his memories. He might not even wake up," the doctor replied.
"But these are all just my speculations. He might turn out fine."
"Amnesia?" The woman frowned as if she had not expected it. But quickly, she thought of something and smiled. "Proceed with the treatment. You must save him."
Following that, she turned and left, walking into the living room.
"Are those people's backgrounds investigated?" The woman looked at the bodyguard clad in black, standing not far off.
"Yes, miss. They are from the Faust family," the bodyguard replied.
It shocked the calm woman. She looked back at the room. "The Fausts?"
"Yes."
"Why would it be them? Why would they want to target him? He shouldn't even be in contact with him." If so, they merely shared the same name.
But there were many people on the planet with the same name. Not everyone was related to those Fausts.
Her instincts told her that things were not as simple as they seemed. "Keep on investigating. Get to the bottom of this. Why would the Fausts attack him so suddenly? There must be a reason behind all this. It might be very important.’ The bodyguard nodded and left. She sat on the sofa, thinking.
Jenny rushed straight to Walter Inc once she got off the plane. But she was not there to work. She was there to talk to Graham. She wanted to know if the Glasses were acting suspiciously lately, and Graham was her best bet. Only he had the power to do this.
"You're back, Jenny." Graham did not think it was unusual when Jenny walked into his office. He didn't even ask her where she had gone.
"I have something to ask you," she said. Even though she did not think Graham would do something like that, she had to be sure. Otherwise, it would eat at her conscience
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 623- Just Wanted to Make Sure Graham raised an eyebrow. He could sense Jenny's grim tone. "What happened?" "You wouldn't have hurt Alec, would you?" She looked straight at Graham, not giving him a chance to escape.
Graham was stunned for a moment. He probably wasn't expecting her to ask such a question. He was silent for a while before smiling bitterly, saying, "So, something has happened to Alec, and now you're suspecting me?"
Jenny said nothing. Her silence was enough of an answer.
Graham felt bitter. He had no idea how Jenny viewed him, but one thing was for sure; she had placed absolutely no trust in him. However, she was asking him this question outright. Could she be giving him a chance?
"It was not my doing," Graham said. 'Although I don't wish for you to be together, I wouldn't hurt him because of this."
Most importantly, he didn't want Jenny to hate him.
For whatever reason, Jenny's guard instantly lowered when she heard Graham's words. She believed him. "I'm sorry. I just wanted to be sure. I didn't want to suspect you," Jenny said awkwardly. She knew it wasn't nice of her to ask him a question like that, but she had no choice.
Graham smiled, brushing it aside. "The fact that you can ask me about it plainly is proof of your trust in me. Maybe I haven't been good enough to deserve your complete trust. But it's alright. I understand." He was never a qualified father.
Graham understood it more than anyone else. He didn't push the topic and asked, "What happened to Alec? Why did you think it was me?"
There must have been a reason why Jenny would suspect him.
Jenny didn't conceal anything from Graham. She briefly told him what had happened and said, "I suspect that it's by someone in Bardoff City. That's why I came to ask you about it."
Alec had not come in contact with many people in Bardoff City. It was pretty easy to investigate the few people with enough power to attack him.
"Your speculations are not unfounded." Graham didn't say much else. "You should investigate the people who have had fights with him."
"Yeah. I know." Jenny nodded. Now that she was sure it wasn't Graham, her next step was to find out who Alec had wronged in the past few days.
Graham saw how confident she was and knew she already had a list of suspects. "Did you come to ask for my help?"
Jenny was stunned and then amused. "You guessed it. Right off the bat, too."
"You're my daughter, after all," Graham said, smiling.
Jenny did not retort. Before coming to the Walters, she did not care for her birth parents. In fact, she felt a little repulsed by them. She didn't want to involve herself with them. But now, after spending some time with Graham, she discovered that he was not as bad as she had thought. She was even looking forward to getting to know her mother. She didn't know what sort of woman she would be. But was her mother even still alive?
Jenny realized she was drifting off and snapped back to reality. "I want you to help me investigate the Glasses. Find out about their recent movements or if they have any secret hideouts."
These were all things that Alfred could not find out. That was why she wanted Graham's help.
"Are you suspecting that the Glasses have brought him to Bardoff City?"
Graham frowned and shook his head. "I don't think that's likely. If it were the Glasses, Alec would probably be dead by now." Instantly, he regretted his words. "That's not what I meant. I…"
"It's okay. What you're saying makes sense. But what if?" Jenny smiled. She would not be angered because of a few words from Graham.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 624-The Plan Must Go On She wasn't a fool. She knew that the Glasses would not be so cunning.
But what if? What if the Glasses thought that Jenny and Alec were close enough that they could kidnap him to threaten her? After all, everyone knew that Jenny was the most likely to inherit the Walters.
If they could make her give up the Walters by threatening Alec's life, the Walters would fall into Rowena's and Jolene's hands.
The more she thought about it, the likelier she thought it to be. The Glasses may have had that in mind when they attacked Alec.
She made up her mind to investigate the Glasses thoroughly.
"The Glasses are not much weaker than the Walters. I probably wouldn't find anything out if I were to investigate them. It would be easy for such a huge family to hide someone," Graham said slowly. He wanted to urge Jenny to give up, but he didn't say it in the end. If he did, he would be very cruel.
She was his daughter. Although he disliked Alec, he didn't want her to be miserable. He might as well let her try. Perhaps time was the remedy to cure all illnesses.
Jenny was in no mood to think about all that. She considered things carefully.
'That makes sense. If someone were to investigate the Glasses, it would have to be…" She paused for a moment, a mysterious glimmer shining in her eyes. "Are we continuing with the plan?"
"Are you talking about taking down the Glasses?" Graham asked.
Jenny nodded. "Although Alec can't join us right now, with the Windsors, it shouldn't be a problem. If not, I'll convince one of the other elites to join us. It'll benefit them in every way. No one would refuse."
Graham could see Jenny's eagerness. She was probably afraid that something would happen to Alec if things dragged on. He signed inwardly, but he said, "There shouldn't be a need to. The Windsors are stronger than the Walters and the Glasses."
Everyone was a part of the Ten Elites, but there was a hierarchy among them.
The Glasses were weaker than the Walters, but the Walters were not as strong as the Windsors. Meanwhile, the Britts were at the bottom of the chain, which was why Jolene could not be convinced.
"Who is the strongest elite?’ Jenny asked instinctively. She hadn't really discovered this before.
With no hesitation at all, Graham said, "The Fausts."
"The Fausts?" Because of Alec, Jenny was very responsive to this name.
"Yes. They have a history that spans hundreds of years. They have internal power issues, but that doesn't affect their strength," Graham said lightly. His eyes looked ahead.
If he could bring the Walters to a height comparable to the Fausts, Jenny would not be bullied by anyone.
Before Jenny could ask more questions, Graham continued, "The Fausts are in turmoil. They have not yet decided on an heir. Everyone in the Faust family is fighting for it. The politics run deep."
Jenny nodded. She didn't take it to heart. "Alright. I'll go contact James. Well have dinner with him tonight to discuss this."
"Very well.' Graham knew that Jenny was anxious, so he didn't refuse.
Jenny got up to leave. She didn't spare much thought on the Bardoff City's Fausts. She didn't even consider the possibility that Alec's disappearance had anything to do with them.
At night, Jolene had somehow heard of Graham having dinner with James, and she rushed to the company.
"Dad, I want to have dinner with you tonight,’ Jolene said. She seldom had any chances to see James; if she missed this opportunity, there was no telling when the next one would come.
Graham knew tonight's discussion was a serious one, and Jolene was close to the Glasses. How could they let her be present? He refused her at once.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 625-You're Picking Favorites Jolene was indignant when she was refused. "Why can Jenny go, but I cant?"
"Jenny is there to talk about serious matters," Graham said truthfully. He hoped that Jolene would not make a fuss.
But Jolene would not hear of it. She merely thought Graham was displaying his favoritism, intending to introduce James to Jenny without regard for her feelings.
"I don't care. I want to go." She pulled at Graham's arm. She didn't want to miss this opportunity.
Graham frowned, expressing his displeasure. "You're not a child anymore, Jolene. Don’t be insolent."
Since Jenny showed up, Graham had been learning to be a good father. Even if he felt displeased, he didn't act in anger.
Unfortunately, Jolene didn't know that. "You're picking favorites, Dad. You stopped caring about me ever since Jenny showed up."
Graham didn't retort. It was the truth.
"We're both your daughters. Can’t you treat us fairly?" Jolene asked, still holding out her fantasies.
What if her dad was just being silly at the moment?
After a long while, Graham grimly told her, ’In my eyes, no one will ever surpass Jenny."
"Dad!" Jolene couldn't believe that Graham would actually say that to her face.
"Jolene, you should be more self-aware. You don't have what it takes to maintain a company. Even after Jenny takes over the company, you can still be a princess and be treated well every day. Isn't that a good thing?" Graham thought that being a carefree socialite was the dream for many.
But Jolene would never agree to that. That was something that used to belong to her, and it was being taken away. She would not accept it.
"You haven't even given me a chance. How would you know that I don't have what it takes?" Jolene asked. She had discarded her puppy eyes for something colder.
Mom was right, her dad only had Jenny in his heart. They had to make their plans early.
"You think I'm incapable? What a joke." Jolene smiled coldly. "You're picking favorites. You would have given the company to Jenny even if she were trash.
You don't need to make up so many excuses."
Graham said nothing. However, he looked at Jolene as if she was a stranger.
"I won't give up." Jolene gnashed her teeth, getting up to leave.
Graham watched her leave and sighed in exasperation. He had no way of treating them equally in this aspect.
Jolene walked out of the office and happened to run into Jenny, who was about to go in and get Graham for dinner with James. They were already at odds with each other, and since Jolene had just fought with Graham, she looked at Jenny with hatred.
"Don't you dare be too cocky! I won't give up." Jolene wouldn't give up on either Walter Inc or James Windsor.
Jenny was speechless. Was she being cocky? She was feeling miserable right now.
Jolene didn't say anything else to her. She was in a hurry to see Rowena at home. They had to have a deep discussion. They could not let Walter Inc fall into Jenny's hands. They didn’t want to be under Jenny's control.
Jenny did not read too much into it. Jolene was always like that, and she was getting used to it.
She knocked and went into the office. When Graham saw it was her, a smile replaced his serious expression. "Is it time?"
"Yes. Let's go. It's not good to be late when we're meeting someone," Jenny said. She wanted to meet James quickly so they could agree on working together to take down the Glasses. That was her only chance to find Alec.
She didn't want to wait for a second longer.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 626-Are You Sure You Want to Do This?
Jenny thought that she and Graham were early. However, James was already sitting in the private booth.
"Mr. Walter." James got up from his chair and greeted Graham with a smile.
Though the Windsors and the Walters were not friends, they were still acquaintances. James and Graham had greeted each other before. He didn't know that Jenny was his daughter, so their conversations were usually brief.
Now, it was different.
Graham was surprised to find James being so polite. Before, they had only nodded in acknowledgment. "Mr. Windsor."
"Just call me James, Mr. Walter." James had a smile on his face, looking amicable. Graham found this all very puzzling. However, he said nothing.
When they sat down, James handed the menu to Jenny. "You can choose whatever you want. You don't have to be so polite around your senior."
"Senior?" Graham was bewildered. Why hadn't he heard of this from Jenny before?
James was surprised, too. He didn't think that Jenny had never brought up their history to Graham.
Jenny smiled dryly, saying, "James and I were Mr. Birkett's mentee."
She did not go into too much detail about it. It wasn't important.
It was then that Graham remembered. He remembered assigning Mr. Birkett to be her mentor, but the old man had refused at the time. Why had he agreed to it later on?
"I've never seen you have a meal with James, even though you're so close."
Graham was also calling him James. After all, they were going to work together in the future. It was vital for them to build trust in each other.
"He's so busy. He wouldn't have the time." Jenny brushed it off.
But James took it to heart. He smiled, saying, "I would. As long as you say the word, I'm there."
Jenny was speechless.
"That would be great. Why don't you come to my house for a meal tomorrow?"
Graham wanted to build rapport with James. It was partly because of their future cooperation and partly because of other reasons. He looked them both over, thinking that they were well-suited for each other.
"That would be great," James said at once. He wanted to spend more time with Jenny.
Jenny was exasperated seeing them agree to it so readily. She coughed dryly, cutting them off. "Dad, James, let's talk business before the dishes are served."
Graham grew serious. James was still in the dark. Jenny had invited him out, saying that they had matters to discuss. However, she had not told him what exactly.
"What do you think of the Glasses, James?" Jenny said, getting straight to the point.
A mysterious look flashed through James' eyes. He seemed to have sensed something. "They're alright. Weaker than the Walters but a powerful force in Bardoff City, especially in real estate. They have the lion's share."
Each family in the Ten Elites had their own strongest industries. They would not be worthy of their ranks otherwise.
"Well, are you interested in their power, James?" Jenny asked, smiling. She believed that James would understand the meaning behind her words.
As expected, he understood. However, he fell into doubt. He looked at Graham and asked uncertainly, "If I remember correctly, Mrs. Walter is part of the Glasses. Are you sure you want to do this?"
He only directed his question toward Graham because he knew that Jenny and Rowena did not have much of a relationship. In fact, they hated each other.
Something like this would have to depend on Graham's stance.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 627-Our Cooperation "Relax. She has married into my family and is now part of the Walters. I will not let her affect our cooperation." Graham knew of James' concerns, so he said them out loud to avoid any doubt between them in the future. He never really liked Rowena, much less the Glasses.
Before he inherited the Walters, the Glasses had bullied and tormented him relentlessly. He was merely paying them back for all they did.
James understood. He nodded. "With our forces, it would be hard to take down all of the Glasses, though not impossible."
"I feel the same way." Graham nodded. It would be no easy feat. Although the Glasses did not compare to them, they were still one of the Ten Elites. They would not be easily destroyed.
Jenny grew confident when they said that it was possible. "It's okay. We can take our time taking them down bit by bit."
"Let's talk about how we're going to do it, Mr. Walter." James was intrigued by their mission. He was no longer in the mood to exchange formalities with Jenny, merely focusing on the subject at hand.
Graham looked at Jenny, unsure whether to talk about it now or later. After all, they hadn't prepared anything.
Jenny nodded at him and stood up, saying, "You guys can talk for a bit. I'm going to check on the food."
She wasn't escaping; she simply wasn't too well-versed in the way of business.
Staying there might even hinder their abilities.
She left the private booth and went into the restaurant's main area, where many people were hanging around. Jenny was still worried about Alec, so she had no appetite.
She walked outside the restaurant. A cold breeze blew over her, and she realized winter was approaching.
People on the streets were already donning jackets. She lowered her head, realizing she was only wearing a thin dress. She couldn't help feeling cold, but it wasn't a bad thing. It made her feel even more awake.
"Jenny." Someone called her name from behind. Jenny looked back and saw that it was Brandon.
"Is something the matter?" Jenny raised an eyebrow. She didn't want to grow too close to him.
Brandon was put off by her attitude. "Have you forgotten about us working together?"
Jenny thought for a while and instantly understood what he meant.
"I haven't. I was just a little busy these days.” She just so happened to be preparing to take down the Glasses. Jenny thought it was time to help Jolene find a way out in case she wasted away in the Walters' house.
Brandon didn't believe her. "You already have the contract. You promised to help out. When are you going to do it?"
"Don't be so anxious. My father just so happens to be here. I'll bring you in to greet him. You know what to do, don't you?" Jenny smiled, thinking that Brandon was spot on with his timing.
Brandon was surprised. He wasn’t expecting Graham to also be there." Alright."
After a while, Jenny figured that the two men were probably almost done with their discussion. She brought Brandon in. She knocked as if to serve a warning.
If Brandon walked in while they were talking about the Glasses, things would become awkward.
"Dad, look who I brought." Jenny walked into the private booth, and Brandon entered Graham's field of sight.
Something flashed in Graham's eyes. "Mr. Britt."
"You can just call me Brandon, Mr. Walter." After all, Graham was his future father-in-law. Brandon was nice to him.
Jenny was dubious. Why were they all being so polite tonight?
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 628-What Are You Planning?
Upon seeing James, Brandon greeted him, "Mr. Windsor? You're here too?"
James simply nodded expressionlessly, clearly not interested in talking to Brandon. Brandon could tell, so he turned his attention to Graham, who was the real reason he was there. He quickly started chatting with Graham and was able to make him laugh.
Jenny sat beside them, quietly eating, pleased with the situation.
"What are you planning?" James whispered to her, sensing that there was a reason she had brought Brandon.
Jenny grinned and answered, "Don't you think Brandon and Jolene are a good match?"
It caught James by surprise, but he quickly understood what she meant. After taking a look at Brandon, he grinned back at her and said, "Yes, they are indeed a good match."
After the meal, the four of them left the restaurant. Graham patted Brandon on the shoulder and said, "Pay me a visit whenever you're free."
"Sure, Mr. Walter," Brandon replied happily. From Graham's tone, it seemed he would not oppose Brandon and Jolene being together.
Just then, Jenny suggested, "Dad, how about tomorrow? It just so happens that James will also be there. The more, the merrier."
She had to create opportunities for Brandon; otherwise, how could she get Jolene to marry him?
Graham thought it was inappropriate since he had already made an appointment with James.
However, Jenny shot James a look, who then said, ”1 have no objections, Mr.
Walter."
Brandon also chimed in, "I'm good with it too."
After they parted ways, Jenny was in a good mood. She had accomplished two things in one day and made some progress.
Graham wasn't a fool; he had already figured out what she was planning when she brought Brandon to dinner.
"So, you brought Brandon to dinner to set him up with Jolene?" Graham asked.
Nodding, Jenny didn't deny it. "She's not young anymore, so we should start thinking about her. I think Brandon isn't bad."
In Jenny's opinion, Brandon was better than Jolene in all aspects. However, she was aware there was a chance Graham thought otherwise. He might have thought she was out of his league in all aspects.
"He's not bad, but it still depends on what Jolene think,” Graham said.
Although he didn't like Jolene as much as Jenny, after all, she was his daughter, and he couldn't force her to marry someone she didn't like.
Jenny nodded and said, "They seem pretty close from their usual interactions.
Maybe Jolene has liked Brandon for a long time."
"It would be great if that's the case." Graham was also worried about Jolene, mainly because of her awful temper and personality, which made it difficult to find someone suitable for her.
Jenny wasn't worried. Since Jolene treated Brandon as a tool, she wouldn't be direct about it even if she didn't like him. All Jenny needed to do was tip the scale to make something happen.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 629-'ve Got It Covered Jenny thought that the conversation would end. To her surprise, Graham continued, “Now that Jolene has reached such an important milestone in her life, what about you?"
"What about me? I'm a divorcee. I'm not in a hurry," Jenny replied, chuckling.
Marriage was not on her mind at the moment. There was also Alec in the equation. At the thought of him, she couldn't help feeling a little sad.
As if he could read her mind, Graham said, "I know that you and Alec are very close, but I still stand by my view that you two are incompatible.
James, on the other hand, is a good fit for you. Be it his family background or his personality, he's excellent in all aspects. Why don't you give that a thought?"
When Jenny wasn't around, James told him he liked Jenny and hoped that Graham could help him. It so happened that Graham was worried about Jenny's love life, and he was also pleased that James met all his criteria. Hence, he had no reason to refuse James's request.
With a frustrated sigh, she said seriously, "James and I are just like siblings.
There's no way anything can happen between us."
"Why not? You haven't given it a try. Why are you so certain that you don't like him?’ In Graham's opinion, as long as Jenny was willing to try, she would find many men better than Alec.
"Anyway, how did it go?" she asked, not wanting to dwell on the topic." What are our chances of acquiring the Glasses' business?"
"The chances of success are pretty high, but it'll be difficult to do it quickly."
Jenny was anxious to save someone, so she didn't want it to happen too late.
However, acquiring the business of a wealthy family didn't happen overnight, and it required patience. While the rest of them could wait, Jenny couldn't.
"That's alright. Let's split into two groups. You just need to keep the attention of the Glasses on you while I look for him." When the Glasses were overwhelmed, she would seize that moment to infiltrate them.
Graham nodded. Suddenly, he realized that she had changed the subject."
What about what I just told you-’ "Dad, I've got it covered, so don't worry about it." Jenny cut him off, refusing to dwell on the topic.
Graham sighed helplessly. "You're just like your mother."
"Speaking of her, didn't you say you were looking for her? Any updates on that?"
Jenny asked. She wanted to know if her mother was still alive.
At the mention of her mother, Graham fell silent. "No."
She seemed to have disappeared. No matter how hard he searched for her, he couldn't find any traces.
"Don't be upset. I'm sure you'll find her someday." Jenny comforted him, gaining comfort from the company they shared in their misery.
He had persisted for so many years, so Graham refused to give up-he told himself that to keep himself going.
"If I don't find her, you have to keep looking for her in the future." It was hard for them to believe that she was dead without seeing her dead body.
"I will." Jenny nodded.
Soon, they arrived at Walter Castle.
Meanwhile, Brandon had just arrived home too.
"Father,’ he called, walking into the living room.
His father nodded and beckoned him over. "I heard you met Graham Walter tonight?"
"Yes." Brandon was not surprised that his father knew. After all, the Britt family was still not under Brandon's full control. In fact, his father had still been watching over the family.
"What did you talk about?" his father asked.
Brandon didn't withhold any information from him. After giving him a rundown of what had happened, he told him, "Tomorrow, I will go to Walter Castle for dinner, and then I will propose to Jolene.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 630- He Lost His Memories, Not His Mind His father nodded. Then, he asked, "Do you think Jolene is that person?” After a moment of thought, Brandon answered, "I understand what you're trying to say. You're suggesting that it's more likely to be Jenny, right?"
"Don't you think so?" his father asked. "I think that Jenny is better than Jolene in terms of ability, conduct, and connections."
"I agree." Brandon didn't refute his father’s statement. "However, regardless of that, Jolene is the rightful daughter of the Walters. Jenny is an illegitimate daughter."
Graham had not married Jenny's mother back then. Even though they were in love, the Walters did not acknowledge their relationship. Therefore, Jenny was not a proper daughter of the Walters.
Jolene, however, was different. She was the daughter of Graham and Rowena.
Regardless of how bad the relationship between Graham and Rowena was, they were still married.
"That makes sense." His father agreed with his point of view.
In a family like theirs, there were many illegitimate children. If they all had the same status as the legitimate child, it would be a mess.
After a while, Brandon's father sighed, "That old fortune teller predicted many things, and they all came true. My father trusted his words. He told me that if a member of the Britt family in your generation marries a daughter of the Walter family, then we will definitely become stronger. Becoming the head of the Ten Elites would not even be a problem."
That was the reason Brandon only had one mission: to marry the daughter of the Walters. They had set their sights on Jolene wholeheartedly, thinking that she was the one who could change their family. Although she wasn't particularly excellent in any aspect, they didn't give up on her.
