Ch. 1191..1200
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1191-You're Pretty Ruthless Pete chuckled after Lynette fled to her room. He never bothered to mask his distaste for her, a fact that he made known ever since she joined the family.
"What exactly are you up to?" Eric fixed his eyes on his son in an attempt to read him. Alas, he realized belatedly that Pete, the son whom he had neglected, had grown into an unreadable young man.
Pete sat on the couch and said casually, "What else can I do? I just want to make her suffer."
"And you find that interesting?" Eric never bothered to explain the reason behind the divorce to Pete. He was too lazy to lay it out, even though everyone was clear about the reason. Instead, he sat back and watched as Pete released his anger on Lynette.
Pete chuckled again. "Of course. She's very interesting.” "Hah. Whatever.’ Eric couldn't care less about what Pete had in store for Jenny.
In his eyes, she was no different than a dead woman. However, he cautioned, "I need to warn you about Jenny Walter. She’s no average woman. You'd better be careful not to play into her hands."
Pete scrunched up his eyes, thinking, "Well, who knows? You might be the one playing into her hands."
"Don't worry. I won’t lose my sanity over a woman, unlike you. He tore apart Eric's hypocrisy without mercy and left the mansion. He made the visit to get the confirmation he needed, and he appeared to have arrived at an answer.
Soon, Jenny received a call from Pete. He agreed to work with her, and she was glad to hear that. Her plan was simple-the first step was to get Lynette out of the Dafoe Mansion, and to do so, she needed Pete's help.
"Jenny Walter, you're using me to save that woman, am I right? Will you really help me get rid of Eric if I get her out?" Pete was no fool. He learned Lynette was a bargaining chip, and she'd be equally effective under Eric's captivity.
However, if Jenny succeeded in leaving with Lynette, she could walk back on all her rosy promises, leaving him deep in regret.
She understood his concern and explained, ’They are legally married. Even if I bring Lynette with me, their marriage is still valid, and Eric can take her back anytime. You should know that is not my endgame."
"Oh? Does that mean you have a plan to make Eric agree to a divorce?" Pete laughed, thinking that it was impossible.
"I don't have a choice. But you know, we don't always need his approval to divorce," she suggested.
Pete was momentarily surprised, but he soon understood the meaning behind her words. Indeed, the death of one's spouse would make it easier to get a divorce. If Lynette wanted a peaceful life, Eric would have to be removed from the equation forever, and his fate seemed to be sealed.
"You're pretty ruthless," he concluded.
She smiled and denied it, "Don't read too much into it. I won't use any illegal means. I plan to lure Eric to Bardoff City and throw him behind bars there." She didn't mind sharing her plan because Pete was in the same boat as her-he had no other choice.
Since Bayside City was the Dafoes' territory, getting Eric jailed here would be impossible. But things would be different in Bardoff City, where the Walters had the upper hand and wouldn't be affected by the actions of the Dafoes. Once she found incriminating evidence on Eric, she would send him to prison
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1192-What Are You Afraid Of?
After hearing Jenny's plan, Pete sank into a long and thoughtful silence. Feeling unsure, he asked her, "Are you confident he'd follow you to Bardoff City? He's not dumb. He sure knows the huge risk in going there."
"He will come after me. A man as possessive and arrogant as him will do so."
She was sure about it. Although she didn't interact much with Eric, she had met countless men just like him. Wasn't Paul Wagner one of them? Eric was even worse than Paul. Therefore, she was sure he'd come after them once they brought Lynette to Bardoff City. He would not stop until he captured her and brought her back to Bayside City.
Surprisingly, Pete didn't refute it, for he knew Eric well, and his father was exactly like how Jenny described him.
"Even if he follows you to Bardoff City, are you confident in sending him to jail?
Are you sure you have evidence against him?" As a Dafoe, he knew that his family was not the most law-abiding, but he didn't have any proof of the shady dealings. Plus, he'd never act in a way that hurt his family.
Reading his mind, she assured him, ’Don't worry. I have planned for all of that.
Even if I don't look into the Dafoes, I’m sure Eric himself has plenty of blood on his hands. What you need to do is to help me with that."
"Is that all?" Pete was baffled—he thought Jenny would ask him to expose the Dafoes' illegal activities.
She nodded. "Yes, that is all. Give me the list of those who died in his hands, and I will think of a way to deal with it." i They saw eye to eye, but he was still unsure. "Will that be fine?"
"Are you afraid?" She scoffed at him. "What are you afraid of? Are you worried that he'd hurt you if you fail?"
He didn't argue because he was indeed scared. He might be rebellious in front of Eric, but he had always feared his father.
"Don't worry. He won't lay a finger on you because you're his son. Just shift the blame to me." Jenny was fearless because she was confident in herself.
Her attitude swayed him, and finally, he bit the bullet. "Okay! I'll go for it!"
He wouldn't die even if he failed, so why not give it a try? If he won, he wouldn't have to live under Eric's thumb, a freedom he had been craving.
After the call, Jenny started thinking hard about ways to smuggle Lynette from the Dafoe Mansion and out of Bayside City. She needed to give it serious consideration because Eric was a madman. If he found out about the plan, he'd rather go down in flames than watch Lynette leave.
She was too deep in her thoughts that she didn't notice Alec entering.
"What are you thinking about?" He went up to her and asked patiently. She confessed her worries to him, only to make him laugh. "Jenny, you underestimated the Fausts and the Walters."
"Oh? How? Tell me." Even though she was the head of the Walter family, she didn't have a full picture of their influence.
"The Dafoe family is king in Bayside City, but they're no match for us. Do anything you want. Eric's not a threat to us, at least from what we can see,* he explained.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1193-I Only Ask For One Thing Despite Alec's assurance, Jenny wasn't totally relieved. She'd rather be safe than sorry and didn't want to see anyone around her hurt.
After a few days of peace, Eric had to leave Bayside City for a business trip.
Jenny thought his absence would be a good opportunity for them.
However, Eric was no fool. As Jenny and Graham were still in Bayside City, he knew they hadn't given up on rescuing Lynette. Therefore, he would be worried about leaving Lynette behind.
"Pack your stuff and join me on a business trip tomorrow," he informed her.
The surprised look on her face quickly changed into confusion. "This is the first time in many years you have wanted me to join you on a business trip. Why?"
"I do what I want. Do I have to explain myself to you?" Eric had always been short-tempered with her through his words or actions. One couldn't tell his affection for Lynette judging from his behavior. But it was wrong to conclude that he didn't have feelings for her because he stubbornly refused to let her go.
She hung her head and pursed her lips. "I thought you refused to let me leave Bayside City because it's your territory, and no one could stir trouble here. Now, you're choosing to bring me with you. Aren't you worried we'd run into trouble once we leave Bayside?"
Eric made a lot of enemies, but no one could touch a hair on his head when he was in Bayside City. However, things would look very different if they left the city.
One of the reasons he refused to let her leave was for protection. On top of that, he believed that by physically restricting her to Bayside City, she’d be under his full control.
"You seem reluctant to go with me," he remarked. It was a statement, not a question.
She was openly honest about it. "It's too dangerous to be around you. I would like to live a few years longer."
"Hah! You always look like you're tired of living. I thought you didn't want to live,*
he jeered.
She pursed her lips. Indeed, she had lost the will to live before meeting Graham and Jenny in person. After seeing them, she suddenly believed she had the strength to keep going for a while. If she gave up before seeing the light at dawn, that'd be a great waste.
He seemed to have read her mind because he grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. "Lynette Bell, are you still hoping for that good-for- nothing, Graham Walter, to save you? You better know you can't escape from me as long as I'm still breathing.*
She didn't utter a word of protest, but her silence irked him more. He hated it when she put on a desolate and hopeless look. Still, after some consideration, he agreed that bringing Lynette with him was not a rational decision. He was sure that Graham would grab the opportunity to attack if he brought Lynette out of Bayside City. He didn't have resources outside of Bayside City, which might complicate things.
After a furious internal debate, he called Pete over.
"What?” Pete asked impatiently.
Eric didn't want to fight with him, so he appeared gentler than usual." You're not a kid anymore. It's time for you to help out." His words puzzled Pete. He continued, "I need to leave Bayside City for a few days. I'll leave everything here in your hands. You can order my men around as much as you like, but I only ask for one thing."
Then, Eric stared keenly at him, saying icily, "Do not let Lynette Bell take one step out of the city. Even if she's dying, she should die here in Bayside City
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1194-Need to See Her Pete was silent with a somber look on his face. Eric might think he was considering the task, but Pete was actually panicking. He wondered," What's wrong? Why did he suddenly involve me in the family affairs? Did he find out about something?"
"You have an army under you. Why do you want me to watch over her?" Pete put on an annoyed look, showing his displeasure about Lynette.
"You're my son, and you will take over the family one day. It's time to get you to work. This is a new challenge for you," Eric explained. Truth be told, he didn't trust Lynette with anyone other than his family. After some debate, he only had one choice-Pete.
Pete was silently smirking at his father's excuse. He would have trusted Eric had he not known about his father's bastard children. Too bad he was in the know.
Therefore, he would not trust Eric's promise of handing him control of the family.
Still, he didn't call him out. "You knew that Jenny Walter is after Lynette. If you leave, they will make a move."
"Do you think you can't handle them?" Eric frowned, displeased.
"Of course not!” Pete hurriedly denied. 'I’m only worried that you might blame me if we suffered massive losses."
"Don't worry about that. Regardless of how many men we lost, I wont blame you as long as you keep Lynette safe." Eric wouldn't have left Bayside City at this critical moment had it not been for the business affair.
Pete seemed relieved after hearing that. "Okay then. I'll try my best."
"No, you shouldn't be trying your best. Give it your best!" Eric reminded him.
Pete said nothing, but he was silently mocking the madman that was his father.
Once Pete left Dafoe Mansion, he immediately called Jenny. "You're in luck. Eric is leaving Bayside City tomorrow, and he wants me to keep an eye on Lynette.
This must be the best chance for you."
"What luck? He must have a reason for leaving Bayside City at this time.' She smiled. She never believed in luck.
"Did you make him leave?" Pete guessed her plan right away. He was no fool.
She dodged the question and informed him, "The plan is scheduled for tomorrow. After confirming that Eric Dafoe has boarded the plane, we will show up and bring Lynette with us."
"If you take her, what should I say to Eric?" Pete asked, feeling jittery.
"Don't worry about that. You are still of use to me. I won't give you up," she assured him. "By the way, you can station some of Eric's men at the mansion. If something bad happens, you can at least shift the blame onto someone else.
Plus, I have set up an extra layer of protection for you." She only shared the information to calm him down but didn't go into details.
Pete could not stop worrying. However, he knew he had no way out ever since he decided to work with Jenny. He had no choice but to bite the bullet and pray that Jenny would keep her promise of not abandoning him.
After the call, Jenny dialed another number. "Has she arrived? Okay. Bring her to the villa. I need to see her."
She wasn't joking about the extra protection for Pete. If Pete were smart, he would soon realize that Eric wouldn't hurt him-he would only marvel at the ingenuity of their plan.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1195-e Doesn't Disappoint Me The next day, Eric left Bayside City in his private jet. Even after making the arrangements, he was plagued by anxiety. He had a hunch that something bad would happen.
"Sir, you look worried." His subordinate was concerned after noticing the frown on Eric's face.
Eric collected himself and asked coolly, "Do you think Pete is any good?"
"Mr. Pete might look unreliable, but I think he deliberately puts on that front. He's still pretty capable," the subordinate answered.
"Is that so?" Eric stared out of the window. "Hope he doesn't disappoint me. " He had a few children out of wedlock, but he had no plan to make any of them the family heir, at least for now.
After all, Pete was his eldest son, and he also had a team of capable men. He didn't mind handing over the family responsibilities to Pete if the kid looked promising. However, he wouldn't waste time on Pete if he was hopeless. Eric had many sons, one of whom would prove to be smart and worthy of the position.
Meanwhile, Pete had moved into Dafoe Mansion after Eric left. He was busy strengthening the security at home. Everything looked smooth and secure.
"Stop looking out. Jenny and Graham Walter had better not come. If they show up, I promise not to let them leave alive," Pete provoked Lynette, who was on the second floor.
She went silent as she secretly worried about the doubled-up security at the mansion. She knew this was the best chance for Jenny to make a move, but Eric might have foreseen the plan. He wouldn't allow her to be rescued.
She thought, "Jenny, I'd rather you and your dad leave than put yourselves in danger."
Jenny and her men moved fast. When gunshots rang in the compound, Pete jumped up from the couch and yelled, "Take them down! I'll watch over that woman!"
With that, he ran to the second floor and pointed a gun at Lynette's head.
The guards were worried that he'd take the opportunity to kill Lynette, but none had the guts to speak up. Before Eric left, he had instructed them to take orders from Pete. When they left the mansion to take on Jenny's men, he let go of Lynette and smirked. "You should thank your lucky stars for that good daughter of yours. I'd really like to get rid of you if not for her."
"Pete, what are you doing?" Lynette was no fool. She sensed that Pete was acting rather unusually, and he didn't seem to be holding her hostage.
He glanced at her and chuckled. "What else can I do? I'm working with Jenny."
"You…" She stared at him, bewildered. Why would Eric Dafoe's son work with Jenny?
However, Pete didn't bother to explain himself. He shoved Lynette into her bedroom and stood guard over her. He had no idea about Jenny's resources and wondered if they could take down Dafoe Mansion security. At the end of the day, he would not step a foot outside of the mansion for fear of getting injured.
Whatever the outcome, it wouldn't affect him much.
The gunshots didn't last for long. Truth be told, Eric had underestimated the capability of the Walters and the Fausts. Although they were not from Bayside City, with their influence, they could descend on the Dafoes with an army they assembled. The Dafoes would be no match.
After the shooting ended, Jenny opened the door to Lynette's room. Pete was a little surprised to see her
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1196-'ll Take Care of Everything "Is.Js everything settled?" Pete sounded uncertain.
Jenny nodded and turned her attention to Lynette. "Let's go. There's no time to waste. I'm worried that Eric Dafoe has something else in store for us."
"Right, right. Leave now!' Pete was equally concerned. "But what do I do if you leave me behind?"
He was the only one standing after everyone else was taken down by Jenny's forces. Not only that, Lynette was gone. Wouldn’t he be in hot water?
Jenny glanced at him and gestured at someone behind her. A woman showed up at the door, and Pete's jaw promptly fell to the floor. His gaze traveled between Lynette and the other woman. Even Lynette was similarly baffled.
"After we leave, this woman will remain here. From now on, she will be Lynette Bell. When the time comes, you can tell Eric that everyone was taken down, but you forced us to leave by pointing a gun at her head. As for how long you can go without Eric finding out about the fake Lynette, it's all your luck,’ Jenny explained. She had made all the necessary arrangements for Pete. She contacted the Glasses and got in touch with the woman who resembled Lynette.
Before this, Rowena had attempted to force Graham and Jenny into submission using the woman, but they managed to see through the lie.
She brought the woman to Bayside City and taught her Lynette's mannerisms.
Truthfully, if Eric didn't spend his time at the mansion daily, it'd be hard for him to spot the fake Lynette. Still, there was a chance he'd see through the setup instantly after his many years living with her. In the end, it all boiled down to luck.
Luck? Pete felt a shiver down his spine. "Do you take my father as a fool?"
"How about this? Tell him that we brought Lynette with us, but she decided to return. You believe she came home because she couldn't part with the luxurious life. That's why she refused to go with us. And tell him that you never thought she was a fake," Jenny cooked up an excuse for Pete.
He agreed that it was a better lie than the first one. "Okay then. You should go.
Be prepared in Bardoff City. I bet he'll be after you in no time."
He didn't believe he could stall Eric for long with the fake Lynette.
"Okay." Jenny nodded. Even without Pete's reminder, she'd be fully prepared to take Eric on. She turned to Lynette and said defeatedly, ’Let's go."
"Just like this? But I'm still legally married to Eric…" Everything felt unreal to Lynette, who thought leaving was futile because she would still be Eric's wife on paper.
Jenny understood her concern, but she didn't have time to explain. "Don't worry about that. I'll take care of everything. Just listen to me now and come with me."
Lynette stared at the daughter she hadn't seen since birth while struggling with complicated feelings. Jenny was a familiar stranger to her.
"Okay. I'll listen to you,” she finally agreed, out of desperation to escape from Dafoe Mansion and her wish to live with Jenny. She had missed the early years of her daughter's life and wouldn't want to miss out on the remaining time she had with Jenny
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1197-She's Probably in Shock Jenny left with Lynette and her men. Pete went up to the fake Lynette and asked, "What's your name?" "Lynette Bell," the woman answered in a tone and mannerisms that resembled Lynette.
Pete thought that was a non-answer, but at least she was immersed in her role.
"Okay. Go to bed and rest. If Eric Dafoe comes home, try not to talk to him too much." He believed that sleeping was the best course of action. The lookalike might fumble if she talked to Eric.
The woman agreed and lay down in bed. After that, Pete exited the room and was greeted by the sight of other men. They were not stationed at the mansion but rushed over after getting the news of the attack.
"Mr. Pete, what happened?" they asked.
"The Walters charged at us and killed many of our brothers. It's despicable! " He gritted his teeth with acting that deserved an Oscar award.
"How merciless! We'll go after them!"
The men sprang into action but were stopped by Pete. ’It's fine. They have been gone for a while. I bet we can't even track them down. Just inform my father.’ No one objected to his suggestion. "So, is Mrs. Dafoe…"
"Tell my father not to worry. She's still here," Pete explained.
Someone immediately called Eric, while the others cleaned up the mansion.
They soon realized that the losses were not as huge as previously assumed.
Most of the men were alive but lost consciousness due to excessive blood loss.
That kept the new group of men busy, sending their wounded brothers to the hospital.
In no time, Pete got a call from an enraged Eric, who barked, "What happened?"
"Just like you predicted, Jenny Walter made a move," Pete replied.
"What about Lynette?’ Eric's priority was to keep his wife safe, and he couldn't care less about the casualties.
Smirking, Pete answered, "She's still in the mansion. She was taken by Jenny at first, but for some reason, she came back. I reckon she probably couldn't bear to part with our family wealth. She's not as virtuous as she seems, you know." Pete still sounded as disdainful as before.
However, the situation felt odd to Eric. ’Did you say she was taken earlier but came home by herself?"
"Yeah."
"Where is she? I need to see her." Eric wouldn't believe Pete's words without seeing Lynette with his eyes. He always assumed that Lynette would never return once she had a chance to escape, but the situation turned out differently from what he expected.
Pete knocked on Lynette's door and turned on the video call. "Looks like she's asleep."
A blanket was draped over the woman, blocking the full view. Still, one could tell she was "Lynette" from the angle. Eric was much relieved upon seeing that.
"Why is she asleep?"
"She's probably in shock. It's a bloody mess out there." While speaking, Pete quickly left the bedroom in case Eric spotted any irregularities.
One could tell that Eric was in a foul mood from his sour face. "I'll send extra security. Keep her in the mansion."
"Roger that." Then, he asked, "Do you plan to come home soon?"
Eric fell into silence. He did think about rushing home.
"You don't have to do that. I can hold down the fort. Jenny Walter has suffered major losses, so she won't attempt again anytime soon." Pete didn't want Eric to be home so soon, for the sooner Eric arrived at the mansion, the earlier he might find out about the fake Lynette. Pete would prefer to keep his father away from home for a few days to buy time for Jenny's plan
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1198-ent Finally, Eric was convinced to return after he was done with his business trip.
Still worried, he wanted Pete to report to him daily about Lynette. Pete readily agreed to the request because it would be hard for Eric to spot the fake Lynette through phone calls.
At the same time, Jenny and her entourage had boarded a private jet to Bardoff with a heavily disguised Lynette. There, she met Graham again. He had been staring eagerly at the entrance. When she showed up, he headed to her without hesitation.
"Nettie."
"Graham." She bit her lips as she felt a wave of emotions washing over her.
Jenny glanced at them and interrupted at a rather bad timing, "Take your seats now. We're taking off soon. You'll have plenty of time to chat later." Lynette and Graham looked sheepish. They had forgotten about the existence of other people on the plane out of excitement.
Everyone went to their seats. Lynette took her seat beside Graham. She watched the plane ascend into the clouds, leaving behind Bayside City, which looked tinier from the air. Suddenly, she was immersed in the sweet taste of freedom. She had finally escaped from the city that had been her prison for decades.
"Nettie, are you okay?" Graham was worried about her because she looked a little upset.
She was pulled back to reality and smiled at him. "I'm fine. I've never been this fine before."
She had mentally prepared herself to be Eric's captive in this life, but she finally had the chance to leave. She might have laughed hysterically if she didn't have to worry about being perceived as a madwoman.
She was on cloud nine, but she remained rational.
"Jenny, how did you convince Pete to help you? He has hated me forever."
Lynette was caught off guard when Pete offered his help.
Jenny looked at her. "He's not helping me. He's helping himself."
Lynette was perplexed, so Jenny explained the plan to her. There was nothing to hide anyway. Once Jenny put Eric behind bars, Lynette would file a divorce lawsuit, and he'd have no choice but to agree.
"Jenny." Lynette felt bad after hearing Jenny's plan. "I'm sorry. I owe you a lot, but you're the one helping me instead."
"You don't owe me anything. I think I've been doing quite well over these years."
Jenny was unconcerned about Lynette's guilt. She also had no attachment to her mother. She only searched for Lynette because Graham stubbornly wanted to do so. Honestly speaking, she didn't care about Lynette's life in Bayside City at all.
Her indifference upset Lynette. "Jenny, I…"
Graham took Lynette's hand and shook his head. He whispered in her ear,"
Don't rush it. Take your time. She acted the same way when I took her home and slowly opened up to me.” "Yeah. You're right. I'm too impatient." She was rushing it because she was eager to hear Jenny calling her "Mom." She understood that asking for an intimate relationship was too much to ask, especially when Jenny had grown up without her.
"That's true. I shouldn't be impatient." Lynette calmed down and said to Jenny, "Thank you, Jenny."
Jenny glanced at her without a word
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1199-You're Really Taking the Liberty Jenny finally felt relieved when the plane touched down at Bardoff Airport.
Although Alec reassured her throughout the trip, she still felt uneasy. It wasn't until they were physically in Bardoff City that her worries eased. Even if Eric showed up in Bardoff City, she had nothing to be scared of because he couldn't bring Lynette away.
Graham and Lynette returned to Walter Castle, and Jenny followed them home.
It had been some time since she last visited. She hadn't lived there for long, but it was home to her. The Walter family was home.
There, the staff and bodyguards gathered. When Graham and Lynette arrived, the staff split into two lines and respectfully greeted them, "Mr. and Mrs. Walter."
Graham was pleased with the welcome, but Lynette thought the title was unsuitable. 'Graham, tell them I'll go by Madam Bell. I haven't divorced Eric, so I can't be Mrs. Walter."
He pursed his lips, looking reluctant.
"Dad, Madam Bell is right,” Jenny interjected. She agreed that it was not the time for Lynette to go by Mrs. Walter. Since she had shared her opinion, Graham had to agree to it and made the staff readdress Lynette. Next, they went to the living room, but Lynette felt awkward because it was her first time visiting.
"Nettie, this will be your home now. You can change the arrangement and decor, pick your room, and plant flowers as you like," he told her. She looked cheerful, like a young lady. She was in her forties, but she had the same youthful smile from her twenties.
Jenny left the living room for the backyard with Alec to avoid interrupting her parents.
"Sorry to trouble you," she thanked him as they walked side by side. He took her hand and pulled her closer. "Jenny, we are one. Your troubles are mine. Your mother is my mother too. You don't have to thank me."
"Pfft, you really took the liberty of doing so.’ She rolled her eyes at him. Only Alec would claim that Lynette was his mother too.
"I always take the liberty when I'm around you. To me, you're family." He pointed that out because he wanted Jenny to realize she hadn't seen him as one of her own.
While the two were strolling in the backyard, Lynette had chosen her room. She stood on the balcony and gazed at the couple on their walk.
"How's that guy…Alec Faust?” she asked. Although she claimed she wasn't in a rush to get to know Jenny, the sight of her daughter walking close to another man was concerning to her.
Graham frowned at the difficult question. ’Their relationship is complicated. I'll tell you more about it, and I need your opinion too."
"Sure." She nodded. "What do we do now?” "We rest, of course. You must be exhausted after a few hours on the plane. " He wanted her to stop worrying and have a good rest.
She was indeed tired, and it wasn't because of the plane ride. She had been losing sleep, especially after learning that Jenny would save her during Eric's absence, and she worried for her daughter's safety. When the dust was settled, exhaustion crept in. "I'll take some rest."
"Alright." He nodded and left her room
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1200-
After so many years, he no longer knew what kind of clothes Lynette liked, so he had someone prepare several different clothes for her to wear for the time being. But it didn't matter as they still had plenty of time in the future to figure out what she liked.
After that, Graham left the room, leaving Lynette to explore her wardrobe full of new clothes and dresses. She was moved. This was the man she loved. Even after so many years, he was still as attentive and gentle as before.
Lynette chose a set of pajamas, went to take a shower, and then lay on the bed.
For the first time in many years, she enjoyed a peaceful rest. While she and Graham rested, Jenny was still busy with work.
She had just received a list from Pete. It was a list of people who had died in Eric's hands over the years. Looking at the long list, she thought Eric deserved to die. It was her first time thinking that way about a person. She began investigating and getting people to contact the families of those who had died.
She wanted to ensure that Eric would never leave Bardoff City.
Jenny did as much investigating as she could while Eric had yet to discover that the Lynette in Bayside City was fake. Alec was also helping her. Working together, there was hardly anything they couldn't find out.
A week later, Eric returned to Bayside City. As soon as he got off the plane, he went straight home without any delay. He pushed open the door to Lynette's room and saw the woman sitting on the balcony. For a reason unknown to him, he breathed a sigh of relief, relieved that she was still there.
He walked over to her and asked, "Why didn't you leave with Jenny?"
The woman hesitated for a moment when she heard his voice from behind her but quickly regained her composure. "I have gotten used to it over the years. My life here is fine."
Her voice and tone were very similar to Lynette's. Hence, he didn't suspect a thing.
"Is that so? I thought you would be eager to leave," he said, attempting to see her face to determine whether she was lying.
Her long hair covered her face, blocking most of Eric's view, which upset him.
"Look at me!’ he ordered.
However, she didn't turn to him, which made him angry. He reached out and grabbed her neck, forcing her to look up at him. Instantly, his eyes widened in disbelief, and he cried out loud, flinging her to the ground.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Lynette," she answered without hesitation.
Everyone said she was Lynette.
"No! You're not Lynette!" Eric wasn't stupid or blind. Although he and Lynette had had disagreements in recent years, they have lived together for decades.
He would know if a different person was pretending to be her.
The woman kept her head down and remained silent.
Furious, Eric stormed out of the room and went to Pete, who hadn't had a chance to leave yet.
"What is going on? Who is that woman upstairs?" He grabbed Pete by the neck, the veins of his forehead bulging.
Despite the dire situation, Pete maintained an innocent, clueless expression.
"Father, what are you talking about? Isn't the woman upstairs Lynette?
