Ch. 1181..1190
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1181-I Don't Know What You're Talking About Lynette refused to listen to Graham, but he went on anyway, "Nettie, I married Rowena Glass because I fell into her trap. We have long since divorced.’ "You're divorced?" She didn't know about that.
"I have never loved her. You're my one and only love,' he confessed.
Her eyes brimmed with tears, for she shared the same affection. Still, the thought of Eric's wicked tricks stopped her from confessing her true feelings.
"Thank you for your love, but I'm doing well now, and I do not wish to be disturbed. Leave this city with Jenny if you care for my best interest. Do you know how much danger you'll put her in?' "I know. Jenny is quite stubborn, especially after learning that your life isn't all roses with Eric. We agreed to leave the city with you." He added, 'Nettie, Jenny is our daughter. We have owed her a lot over the years, but she cares about us and never holds a grudge against us. She's such a great kid.
Sometimes, I feel grateful for having a daughter like her."
It was heart-wrenching to hear his words. If she had a choice, she would choose to raise her daughter. Alas, she wasn't given the chance to do so years ago.
"Nettie, do you want to leave with us? We will live new lives from now on,' he asked for her opinion. She was taken aback by the suggestion and was tempted to agree, but…
She was too afraid to say yes. On the one hand, she knew she would never escape from Eric's grasp. On the other hand, even if she successfully escaped from him, she'd be recaptured, not to mention the danger it could bring to Graham and Jenny.
After a short silence, she shook her head under his intent gaze. ’I don't want to. I choose to stay with Eric. We get along pretty well.’ "Nettie! Stop lying! He hasn't been treating you right at all! He forced you to marry him, and you don't even love him!" Graham felt sorry for Lynette, and he could tell her hesitation was out of concern for his and Jenny's safety.
The more she worried forthem, the more certain he became.
Lynette was shocked to learn that Graham was in the know, and she was at a loss for words. "No matter what, I will not leave Bayside City with you. Both of you should leave the city soon."
"Nettie, did you send someone to knock me out?" he asked, and she appeared taken aback. He continued, "You had me knocked out and made me disappear because you wanted to protect me from Eric's assassination. Is that right?"
"I don't know what you're talking about!" She was stubborn but secretly surprised. How did he learn about her plan?
"Nettie, I know you have a place for me in your heart. Why else would you do that for me? You could have watched me die and live peacefully with Eric." He stared keenly at her, eager to confirm his hunch. Her silence was the best answer. "Don't worry. Jenny is smart. She'll think of a way to get you out."
Graham knew her answer and came to a decision for her.
"Did he really ask me not to worry?" she wondered as she silently smirked. How would that be possible?
"Graham, you don't know how scary Eric Dafoe can be!" she sighed. "Listen to me and leave the city with Jenny. Alright?"
"Nettie, I am no longer the man from years ago. I couldn't protect you in the past, so I watched on as you were hurt and brought away by the Bells. But now, I can offer you protection. So, give me a chance, will you?" he persuaded her sincerely, his eyes fixed on her.
She gaped, but no word came out of her mouth. What else could she say? No matter what she said, she could not change Graham's decision.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1182-She Should Call Me Stepdad At the event hall, Jenny engaged Eric in a talk. Anyone watching would think they were serious about the business partnership, but Eric knew all too well that Jenny was buying time. He downed the red wine in his glass and gave her an emotionless look. "Was that enough time?"
"What?n She appeared puzzled.
"You were buying time. Was that enough?" He chuckled as his gaze wandered to the restroom. Lynette seemed to have walked in that direction.
Jenny smiled at his cleverness. "Mr. Dafoe, it seems you care a lot about my mother."
He snickered and looked at her sharply. "Of course. She's my wife."
"Your wife?" She smirked. "But I heard that you're mistreating her."
"So what? Do you think you and your useless father stand a chance to leave with her just because I'm mistreating her?" His tone was full of mockery, and he looked disdainful upon mentioning Graham.
Jenny's expression contorted. She had not come across someone as impudent as Eric in a long time. Still, she was understanding of his lack of manners. He was the king of Bayside City who had no regard for anyone else. Suppressing her rage, she asked, "Who knows? What if we do?"
"I advise you to give up on that idea. It'd be a pity if you and your dad were to remain in Bayside City forever," he suggested with a smile as though it wasn't a threat.
Jenny smirked, seemingly unbothered. "That's fine. I am attracted to danger."
"Huh. You're very different from Lyn.’ If Jenny didn't bear a striking resemblance to Lynette, Eric would have doubted their mother-daughter relationship.
"Well, every person is different," she chirped. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed Lynette entering the event hall again and assumed that Graham was done talking to her. So, she excused herself, "Mr. Dafoe, we shall see what happens.’ "Interesting. I can't wait for it." He saw Lynette as well and gestured at her to come over. The light in Jenny's eyes dimmed as she left without a word.
At first, Lynette thought she had a chance to speak to Jenny, but she was disappointed to see Jenny leaving just when she rejoined Eric.
"Your daughter is an amusing character." He pulled Lynette into his arms as he looked in the direction where Jenny had left. He didn't sound too different, but his words sent a shiver down her spine.
"What do you want to do? You’d better stay away from Jenny. I'll fight you if you dare!"
"What is in that dirty mind of yours? She should call me her stepdad. Why would I be interested in her?" Eric was a playboy, but he had no interest in smart women like Jenny. He'd much prefer dumb blondes.
Stepdad? The idea made Lynette sick. She explained, "I have no plans to reconnect with her. And you're not her stepdad either."
"Oh? Don't you? She was confident she could leave with you, from what she told me." He looked at the woman in his embrace, eyes crinkling in a smile.
His words caught her by surprise. Did Jenny say that to Eric? Did she have any idea how dangerous it was?
Knowing Eric, Lynette felt anxious and added, "I am your wife now. Of course, I won't leave with someone else." "Is that so? Good." He didn't interrogate further.
He was smart enough not to take someone at their word
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1183-I'm Not a Mistress Jenny spotted Graham standing not far away from the hotel entrance and approached him. "Dad, how was the talk with Lynette?' she asked.
Graham had a complicated look on his face mixed with slight concern." She said she wont leave with us and requested that we leave Bayside City."
"Cut that nonsense, Dad. I don't care what she said to you. Most importantly, what do you think about her life with Eric Dafoe?’ Lynette would definitely refuse to leave because she was concerned for Graham and Jenny's safety. Jenny hadn't had much chance to interact with Eric, but she could tell the man was no angel.
After her question, Graham shared his thoughts, "She's in the exact situation as the information you gathered on her. Eric Dafoe probably doesn't treat her well."
"That's good enough. Once we confirm that, we will leave with her no matter what. We can't leave her behind to suffer." Lynette was, after all, her biological mother, and Jenny wasn't heartless.
"It's not that simple. She's still married to Eric. They aren't divorced.’ In other words, bringing Lynette with them was futile because she would remain Eric's wife on paper.
Indeed, it was tough to get Lynette to divorce Eric. "Let's not rush it. We'll go home and figure it out. At least we know where she is. Right?' "True." He nodded. Locating Lynette was a huge step forward compared to his blind search from before.
They went into the car and left the hotel. On the way back, Jenny was thinking hard about how to leave the city with Lynette. Before that, she had to figure out how Lynette could divorce Eric. However, judging from Eric's possessiveness, it was unlikely that he'd ever divorce Lynette. Sighing, she wondered if they had finally reached a dead-end after locating her mother.
After the charity dinner ended, Eric and Lynette went home as well. In the car, Eric scrunched up his eyes without saying a word. Lynette leaned against the car window silently, worrying that Eric would lay a finger on Jenny and Graham.
Still, she wouldn't bring up her worries-not even bringing up Jenny and Graham's names-out of fear that it'd drive Eric mad.
Soon, the car arrived at the Dafoe Mansion. They entered the house one after another.
"Yo, you're back." The voice of a young man greeted them once they entered the living room. Lynette immediately frowned.
"Why are you here?’ Eric cautiously examined the young man.
Pete Dafoe glanced at his father and protested, "I'm still your son, you know?
Why? Can't I even visit home?"
"Home? Do you finally know where your home is? I thought you'd forgotten about your home after you had your crazy fun out there," Eric scoffed. He was always strict with his son.
However, Pete was unbothered. Instead, he shifted his gaze to Lynette. "I refuse to come home because you married your mistress.' Lynette's face fell at that word. "Pete Dafoe, how many times did I tell you? I'm not a mistress."
"Aren't you?" Pete chuckled. "Would my parents have divorced if it weren't for you?"
Lynette thought his accusation was ridiculous. She had been married to Eric for decades. Pete was only a few years old when she first joined the family. For some reason, he thought of her as his father's mistress since then, and he was always hostile to her
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1184-Try Me Lynette almost lost it a few times and wanted to beat up the rascal, but she couldn't because Eric doted on his son.
"Eric Dafoe, have you never told your son what actually happened? You pressured the Bells for my hand in marriage. Did you think I'd marry you otherwise?' She was truly angered. After being forced to marry Eric, Eric's son accused her of being a mistress, and she refused to take that lying down.
Eric's expression soured. 'You said you didn't want to marry me? Who would you prefer, then? Graham Walter?’ She shouldn't take his silence on the way back home as his forgiveness.
"Eric Dafoe! Your son is slandering me!" She jumped in anger.
"Why are you taking him seriously?' Eric countered as though the twentyyearold Pete was still a child.
Lynette gritted her teeth and came to a realization when she glowered at the father and son. "Sure, I shouldn't take him too seriously. I'm a fool for expecting you to speak up for me. You'd rather have me accused than get yourself dragged, isn't it? You and your son are both disgusting!"
With that, she stomped up the stairs. Although she badly wanted to escape from that horrible place, she knew that she wouldn't stand a chance to do so.
Eric was still furious after hearing Lynette slam the bedroom door. He stared at Pete coldly. "Why are you here?"
"Nothing, really. I heard there were some interesting episodes at the charity dinner. So I made a visit on purpose." He was always gleeful to witness Eric and Lynette arguing.
Eric shot him an icy glare. "Be thankful that you're a Dafoe. You'd be dead meat otherwise." Had Lynette agreed to bear him children, he would have long given up on Pete, the problem child.
"Right. Everyone knows that you're ruthless.’ Pete snickered. ’You got my mom killed because she refused to divorce you, isn’t that right? I'm curious, thoughwhy didn't you get rid of me along with her?' He knew that Lynette was speaking the truth about the mistress accusation.
After all, he was no longer the naive kid from years ago, and he had thoroughly investigated his father's affairs. He would still hate on Lynette because his parents wouldn't have divorced if she hadn't shown up, and his mom wouldn't have lost her life.
"If that's all you have to say, you can get lost now." Eric looked unperturbed.
Pete knew that his empty insults wouldn't hurt his father in any way, but he still hurled the words at him just to release his pent-up frustration. "Well, that's not all. I heard about that woman's daughter, and that makes me curious."
"What do you want to do?" Finally, a frown crept up Eric's face.
"I think that woman's daughter might be an interesting character. I kind of want to give her a try." Pete chuckled.
The bedroom door suddenly flung open, and a wild Lynette appeared in the corridor. She gave Pete a death stare. "If you dare to have any funny ideas about Jenny, I'll dig up your mother’s grave!’ "You—" Pete was astounded by her chilling threat.
"Try me! If you so much as lay a finger on Jenny, I'll see it through!" Lynette threatened him, knowing he cared the most about his late mother. Too bad his mother was dead. If that woman was alive, Lynette could have held her hostage, but she had no choice but to threaten him with his mother's dead body
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1185-Be More Attentive In the end, Pete left the mansion in a storm of rage, and one wondered if he had taken Lynette's words to heart.
Just as she let out a sigh of relief, Eric went up to the second floor and stood in front of her. Before she could speak to him, he grabbed her by the neck. "So, did you meet Graham Walter? Did he get intimate with you?"
It turned out that Eric wasn't as unbothered as he appeared on the surface. To him, Lynette was his woman, and regardless of whether he actually loved her, no other man should touch her. He was silent on their way home because he was figuring out a way to teach her a lesson. What could be done to scare her into not seeing men behind his back?
After racking his brains, he concluded that a beating was the most effective.
"Let go of me!" Her attempts to push him away were futile. "Eric Dafoe, you're a sick man!"
"Yeah, this isn't your first day knowing that about me, is it?" he was as calm as water, but he tightened his grip on her neck, and she instantly gasped for air.
Then, she was dragged into the bedroom and thrown onto the bed.
"Eric Dafoe, get out of my room!" Even after many years of marriage, they never shared the same bedroom.
"Get out? You're my wife. What's wrong if I want to sleep with you?" While speaking, he pinned her underneath and ignored her struggles. He was dead set on taking her.
She fought back against him but ended up being beaten before succumbing to his aggressive advances. Even though they never shared a room after many years, that was not the first time Eric had forced himself on her.
Many times, she considered taking Eric with her to her death, but she had lingering affection for the world. To be exact, she couldn't bring herself to part with Jenny and Graham for good. When she thought she couldn't go on anymore, she'd think of her daughter and the man she loved the most.
Whenever Eric assaulted her, she'd keep thoughts of Jenny and Graham in her mind. She could only tell herself that Eric was a tool for her. That was the only way she could live without the crushing humiliation.
Meanwhile, back at Graham's villa in Bayside City, he tossed and turned for the whole night, thinking of a way to bring Lynette with them. Unfortunately, he didn't make any progress on that.
Jenny woke up in the morning to his dark eye circles. "Dad, did you not sleep last night?"
"How could I when Nettie’s suffering?" he sighed, wishing fervently that he could bring her with him right away.
Jenny went to the dining table and wolfed down her cereal. "Don't worry. Eric Dafoe's running a huge business. There must be some dirt on him. We need to dig up that dirt. As long as it poses a threat to the Dafoes, I believe he'd choose to protect his family name over keeping Lynette."
A man like Eric would pick his family's reputation over everything else.
"Will that work?" Graham sounded concerned.
"Yes." Jenny was confident about the plan. Now that they found Lynette, everything else would eventually work out.
He was visibly relieved when he witnessed her confidence. "I'm aging now and not as shrewd as you when it comes to strategizing. You need to be more attentive to your mom's case."
"Yeah. I got it," she answered without much thought while finishing the cereal.
Graham sat across from her with a complicated look on his face. "Jenny, have you never thought of Lynette as your mom?" Every time Jenny referred to Lynette by her first name, he would feel upset.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1186-I Hope You Don't Resent Her Jenny put aside her cutlery and stared at Graham defeatedly. "I had not seen her at all when I was a kid. Now, you want me to call her ’Mom'? I cant dothat."
"I know, and I hope you won't resent her. It's all my fault that she had to leave."
Things wouldn't have ended this way if he were capable enough to keep Lynette by her side.
Jenny didn't seem to mind as she brushed it off. "Both of you shouldn't feel guilty at all. I was living a good life at Orchid Village. And you hired all those teachers to give me lessons. You played a role in shaping my success today."
Although Graham had never once visited her at the village, she found the teachers he hired very helpful and meaningful.
"It's my duty." He wallowed in regret, even though it was too late. The conversation ended there.
Jenny quickly changed the topic. "You'd better not go out in the next few days.
Eric Dafoe would probably send his men. We've strengthened the security here at the villa. You'll be safe if you stay inside."
"Okay. I got it." He nodded. "But what about you? You're in danger too."
Lynette had never wanted to be with Eric. Jenny showing up would only strengthen her resolve to leave, and under those circumstances, Eric would likely get Jenny out of the way.
"Don't worry about that. I have security." Moreover, she was skilled in combat herself. To top it off, she had invited Melissa to Bayside City to stand guard over her in secret. Jenny could stay safe from Eric's men if Melissa is with her.
Graham said nothing more and granted Jenny a peaceful breakfast. After that, she left the villa to look into the properties under Eric Dafoe's name to investigate any illegal activities. She thought, "He rules over Bayside City, but so what? He's not above the law."
To her surprise, she was greeted by a black sportscar when she arrived at one of Eric's properties. A young man hopped out and glided over effortlessly with a smile. "Hey there, lovely. Care to have a drink with me?"
"Sure." She nodded.
"How does coffee sound?" the man inquired, inviting her into his car. She agreed with a smile and entered.
Pete Dafoe was overjoyed. He had thought highly of Jenny, but it seemed that she was ready to submit to him. The Walters? They were nothing but a fake Bardoff City elite that amounted to nothing.
Jenny would've laughed hysterically if she knew what was on his mind. The Bayside City residents were narrow-minded, perceiving their city as the whole world and thinking they were invincible just because they were wealthy. How laughable!
The sports car was parked in front of a high-end cafe. Jenny and Pete entered the cafe, and he selected the most expensive private lounge, perhaps to show off. After they took their seats, he asked, "Oh, I haven't asked for your name."
"Oh, didn't you know? I thought you were prepared." She glanced at him with a smile, resting her chin on one hand. Her gaze was full of ridicule, as though she was staring at a clown.
His face contorted, but he remained composed. "What do you mean?" "Mr.
Dafoe, you're no fun." She smiled and sipped on the coffee that the waiter brought her. She examined his changing expressions, finding them amusing.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1187-What's There to Work On?
After an excruciatingly lengthy silence, Pete gave in and asked, “When did you recognize me?"
"First of all, you bear some resemblance to your father," she explained."
Secondly, I looked into the Dafoes before this. Not only do I know you well, I am privy to the matters of all your family members.’ If people in the Dafoe family tree stood before her, she might recognize and name them better than Pete could.
At this point, Pete's smile was wiped off his smug face, but he soon emerged from his silence as he recalled the main goal of his meeting with Jenny. "Is that so? That's great. I don't even have to introduce you to all of them next time."
"What?" She was perplexed, as though she hadn't figured out the meaning behind his words.
"I think you're a lovely young lady. Since I'm single, I shall allow you to date me."
He sounded rather frivolous and seemed to believe that it was Jenny's good fortune to have a chance at dating him.
This time, she burst out laughing. "Are all the Dafoes narcissists?” Eric was conceited, and so was his son. They were family indeed.
"Jenny Walter, I know your family is one of the Ten Elites of Bardoff City, but you are nothing compared to us Dafoes. I am giving you a chance right now," he huffed.
She sighed as she silently questioned her decision to join him at the cafe.
Finally, she put on a straight face. “Pete Dafoe, why don't you tell me about your motive instead of wasting time with pleasantries? I still think there is an opportunity for us to work together."
"What's there to work on?" he scoffed.
"Isn't there? I thought you were ambitious." Her gaze pierced through him as she smiled. "You must have had nothing to do with the invincible Dafoes that you keep harping about."
He grimaced at her remark. At first, he thought that Jenny was an interesting character. If he could date Jenny, he'd make Lynette choke on anger. However, his impression of Jenny had since changed.
"I know you're unhappy about Lynette Bell and think of her as the reason behind your mother's death. That's why you approached me-you wanted to provoke her.
But does that even mean anything?" She gave him a look of pity. Yes, she pitied him, and she also thought that he was pathetic.
When he realized what was going on, he could no longer smile. "What are you saying?"
"I believe you understand very well that your father, Eric Dafoe, was responsible for your mother's tragic death. Things wouldn't have ended up this way if it weren't for him. So, you should work toward replacing him, not wasting your time on Lynette. Provoking her is a useless move." She wouldn't have wasted her time persuading Pete if she didn't need his cooperation. The Dafoes were all crooks to her anyway.
Jenny's words got Pete shaken up and thinking. He approached her to play her, but she was talking business with him. He needed time to process the huge change.
Silence filled the lounge once more. Suddenly, Jenny's phone buzzed from Mr.
Ortiz's call. She looked serious when she saw the caller ID, but she openly picked up the call in Pete's presence. When Mr. Ortiz informed her that the villa was under attack, she merely acknowledged the incident and hung up. Instead of leaving, she stared at Pete, waiting for him to speak
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1188-s My Proposal Attractive?
Pete gathered himself with a shocked look on his face. "Aren't you going home?
Are you not worried that your dad is dying?"
"Don't worry. He won't die." She sounded confident because she had made the security arrangements according to her investigation into the Dafoes' dispatchable security.
As long as Eric Dafoe did not send his full force, the villa would be safe. And she was confident that Eric wouldn't do so, because he wanted to get rid of Graham with his own hands.
"So, Mr. Dafoe, is my proposal attractive?" She was more interested in Pete's reply.
He looked at her with a seriousness that replaced his flippant attitude from earlier. "Why would I listen to you and go up against my father? I'll be taking over the family sooner or later."
"Oh. Are you sure?" Jenny flashed him a knowing smile and furnished him with a few photos from her bag. "Your father bore a few children with his mistresses.
Every one of them is more capable than you. You're still the eldest son and heir of the Dafoes only because your maternal grandfather is still around. Your father dare not cross a line because their family is pretty influential. Guess what Eric Dafoe will do once your grandfather is no longer around?" She casually stated the truth without any provocation.
Pete stared at the photo in front of him. It was a photo of Eric having a meal with a woman and a young man around his age. The other photos were in the same vein, only with different women and children of varying ages. He didn't question the children's identity at all because they all bore a resemblance to Eric.
As he flipped through the photos, his expression started to crumble. "You dug pretty deep." This was information that he had never come across, proving that Eric was meticulous in hiding his secrets.
"That's for sure. How would I have the guts to show up in front of your father without any solid proof?" She smiled. If she was incapable of getting her hands on simple evidence like the one she showed him, their meeting today would have been meaningless.
He shifted his glance from the photos to the woman seated across from him.
"Since you have dug deep into his life, you should also know that I don't have a say in family affairs."
Eric had consolidated the power in his hands, and Pete was nothing but a jobless bum. It was almost impossible for him to win control of the Dafoes from his father.
"Don't worry about it. You're still the eldest son and heir of the family, at least to the public. If something happens to Eric Dafoe, you'll be next in power."
She smiled at him with a devilish look in her eyes, sending a shiver down his spine. He couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth as fear crept up in him. "W-what do you plan to do? Are you seriously going to take him out? You better forget about it because it's impossible!"
"Calm down. That's not the only method. As long as you're willing to cooperate, just leave the strategizing to me. You will execute the plan.
How does that sound? Do you want to bet on this?" Jenny had a plan in mind, but she needed someone to work with, and Pete would be her best candidate.
He appeared hesitant, not knowing if he should trust Jenny. If they worked together and the plan failed miserably, he'd suffer a horrific death.
She knew he was undecided, but she wasn't in a hurry. "If so, take your time to consider my proposal. I need to return to the villa and take a look." "Okay." He nodded. Indeed, he needed time to think long and hard about her suggestion
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1189-Are You Using Me?
Jenny was ready to leave, but she was not leaving alone. Looking at Pete, she requested, ’Now, please send me home." "Are you asking me to send you home?" He furrowed his brows, displeased at her orders.
She smiled and added, "Eric Dafoe's men are watching me nearby. They will make a move once I walk out alone. I’m not scared of them, but I don't like wasting my time warding them off. I need to get home as soon as possible to check on my dad. Got it?"
Pete, who was initially confused, finally understood the situation. 'Are you using me?"
"How can you say that? As partners, you should ensure my safety. Don't you think so?" She lifted a brow at him, feeling completely justified.
Pete was unhappy but had to follow her instructions. After all, the last thing he wanted was to see Jenny harmed. They left the lounge and got into his sports car.
Eric's men were caught by surprise. "That…that woman is with Mr. Pete. Do we still make a move?"
"Of course not, stupid! We'd be damned if we injure Mr. Pete." The assassination plan was thwarted.
When Pete drove Jenny to the villa, they found Eric's men had been taken down. Mr. Ortiz was busy cleaning up at the entrance. When he saw her, he hurried over. "Miss Walter."
"Hey. Is my dad okay?" she asked.
"Mr. Walter is fine. Thankfully you arranged for adequate security, and Mr. Faust came just in time," he answered.
"Mr. Faust?" A puzzled expression appeared on her face. The next moment, they saw Alec emerging from the villa. She was taken aback by his presence.
"Why are you here?"
"I'm worried for you. That's why." He had been worried for her ever since he heard that Jenny was challenging the Dafoes. After finishing his work in Faust Group, he rushed to Bayside City without wasting time.
Feeling touched, she walked to him. "Thank you, but I can handle this on my own."
Pete suddenly interrupted their conversation with dissatisfaction. "Hey! Won't you invite me for tea since I sent you home?"
"Mr. Dafoe, you should skip tea and hurry home to think over my proposal.’ Jenny was in no mood to entertain him. With that, she went into the living room with Alec, leaving Pete speechless at the door. However, he didn't protest further and left in his car very soon.
He had been hesitating about the collaboration with Jenny, but he came to a decision after meeting Alec Faust. With the support of the Fausts and the Walters, he stood a higher chance of success-it would be a rare opportunity that he wouldn't want to miss.
In the living room, Jenny was pulled into a hug by Alec, who sounded a little jealous. 'Look at you, going out with other men after I left you alone for a bit!
Jenny, you're making me upset."
"What other men? That's Eric Dafoe's son! I'm discussing working together with him." She rolled her eyes at him. She wondered, "Can't he see that I am uninterested in Pete Dafoe?"
Her words failed to assuage him. "I don't care. I just don't like seeing you surrounded by men. I'm angry now, so you'd better know what to do."
Dumbfounded and helpless, she coaxed him, "Alec, don't fool around." It didn't work on him because he was anticipating a sincere act of ’apology.’ She had no choice but to give him a peck on the lips. ’Are you happy now?"
"Not really." Then, he hugged her tighter and bit her lips as his kiss deepened.
To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1190-nd See When they wrapped up the long kiss, Jenny playfully glared at him. "You're shameless!" Alec had pretended to be upset just so he could take advantage of her.
"I don't mind acting shamelessly in front of you." He held her and refused to let go.
Suddenly, they jumped at the wry cough from the second floor. Jenny immediately broke free from Alec's arms. Graham descended from the stairs, acting as though he didn't witness the intimate act. "Jenny, you're home. Did you run into any trouble?*
"Dad, I'm fine. How about you? You're not in shock, are you?" She collected herself, putting the attack at the back of her mind.
Graham joined them in the living room and sat across from them. "This is not my first time-l'm experienced. Why would I be in shock?"
"Sure, you're amazing,’ she jokingly complimented him. After that, she told him about the suggestion to work with Pete Dafoe, to which he responded with worry.
"Will he agree to it? Eric is his father, after all. Any average man will not agree to work with us to take down his father."
"Well, there you have it. Pete Dafoe is no average man."
Technically, all members of the Dafoe family were not your average Joe. Since Graham had no better idea, he allowed Jenny to make the decision." You can decide on what to do. I have no objection as long as we leave this city with your mom."
"Alright. Don't worry. I'll give it my best," she replied.
Graham retired to his room, leaving some space for the new couple who were madly in love. He knew better than to be the third wheel.
When Graham left, Jenny glanced at Alec. "Why didn't you say a word just now?
Are you scared of my dad?' "I'm not scared of him, but I'm worried I might leave a bad impression. Silence is golden.* He knew that Graham held a grudge against him for divorcing Jenny.
She chuckled and looked at him, amused. "I’ve never thought I'd see you acting this way. What a rare sight!"
