To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1171-We Have No Choice Mr. Ortiz was taken aback by the revelation. “They didn't do it? Who else would do that? Were they even telling the truth?"

"I’m not sure yet. But they don’t look like they're lying," Jenny sighed. The troubled look on his face tickled her. She chuckled. "Don't worry for now. I'll figure something out. Dad will be fine."

"Miss Walter, I hope you're not overexerting yourself." Mr. Ortiz knew that Jenny was more worried than him, but she still had the strength to comfort him. He was speechless at her resilience.

They left the Bell Villa. Not long after, Jenny got a call from Alec. They chatted quickly, and the call soon ended. Then, she rested her head against the window, wracking her brain to figure out the mastermind behind Graham's abduction.

Later, they arrived at Graham's temporary accommodation in Bayside City. Mr.

Ortiz opened the car door for her. "Miss Walter, this is where Mr. Walter and I stay in Bayside City."

"Got it." She nodded and followed him into the residence.

After learning that Jenny would fly to Bayside, the staff had prepared the daily essentials. The villa had everything for her. She went into her room and lay on the bed, but instead of drifting off to sleep, she was thinking about the missing Graham. She was stuck in her search, and that worried her to no end.

That was the moment she heard the ring of a text notification. She had wanted to ignore it, thinking it was spam. But she was surprised to find that it wasn't spam when she wanted to check something on her phone. She tapped into the text. Its content was simple-there was an address and a sentence. "If you want to keep your dad safe, leave Bayside City with him and never return."

She shot up on the bed. She had no idea who sent her the text, nor could she verify its authenticity, but it was good news anyway, especially when she had reached a dead-end in her search. She held on tightly to the new clue.

Rushing out of her room, she quickly called for Mr. Ortiz. "Mr. Ortiz, get everyone to come along with me." She needed to stay on high alert. It'd be a disaster if she went to confront the mastermind and got ambushed. Still, Graham's army of men should be good enough to handle any threat.

"Miss Walter, where are we going?" Mr. Ortiz gathered everyone but couldn't help asking. She was honest with him because she trusted him, and she told him about the text.

He frowned when he heard about it. "Miss Walter, isn't the entire thing rather sloppy? The text could be fake!' "Mr. Ortiz, we have no choice. Even if the text is fake, I need to check out the place with my own eyes," she argued.

Mr. Ortiz understood where she was going, but he was concerned. "I'm afraid that someone wanted to bait you. Mr. Walter is missing now. I can't have anything happen to you too."

"Don't worry. Look, that's why I asked you to gather all our men." She smiled at him. Although she was nervous, she had nothing to fear.

Still frowning, Mr. Ortiz made two separate calls. "I'll gather more men just to be safe."

Although all of Graham's men were ready to be dispatched, Mr. Ortiz needed to find some bodyguards for hire. With money, one could find such bodyguards anywhere in the world. Jenny agreed to it because they'd be safer with more men around.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1172-I Can Offer You a Piece of Information Jenny tried not to keep her hopes high before heading to the address. If the mastermind was that kind, they wouldn’t have stringed Mr. Ortiz along. She even prepared to fight any attackers at the place. Regardless of the motive, Jenny believed she'd at least get some information out of captives.

With that in mind, she arrived at the address with her men in no time. They saw an ordinary house, and nothing looked off. She frowned and went to the front door.

Mr. Ortiz hurriedly stopped her. "Miss Walter, I'll do that." He'd be putting Jenny in danger if someone awaited them behind the door.

She wanted to turn down his protection, but Mr. Ortiz had opened the door and barged in. Feeling defeated, she followed closely behind.

There was nothing wrong with the interior of the house. It was well-kept and looked lived-in. Just when they were scanning the environment with heightened alert, the door to a room suddenly flung open. The guards quickly formed a circle around Jenny and prepared to counterattack. However, they were caught off guard when they saw a woman emerge from the room. They did not know what to make of the situation.

Jenny made her way through the men and looked at the woman, who was staring back at her. Then, the woman asked, ’Are you Jenny Walter?” "Yes." Jenny nodded.

The woman turned to the side to make way for her. "Come on in. The man you're looking for is in the room."

Jenny was flustered once again. She wondered, "Is Dad really in there? Is it that easy to get to him?"

The woman noticed the doubt on her face and explained, "There's no danger in there. Just relax."

Jenny didn't want to take her word for it, but since they had traveled all the way there, she needed to take a look. Therefore, she followed the woman into the room.

When she saw Graham on the bed, she was gripped by a wave of mixed emotions. Before she could speak, Mr. Ortiz ran past her and asked, "Mr.

Walter? What happened to you?' Graham was unconscious. Jenny shot a confused look at the woman, who explained, "He's fine. He's just knocked out for a while and will wake up soon.” Jenny sighed in relief and performed a checkup on him. His condition was as described by the woman. "I'm sorry, but what exactly is happening?" The situation was beyond comprehension, and Jenny looked at the woman in the hope of an explanation.

However, she was destined to be disappointed. The woman shook her head.

"I'm sorry, but I have no idea either. Someone paid me to take care of him. I was told that someone would show up and pick him up today, and I was told your name. I know nothing more."

Jenny started thinking again. Who would be behind this? She recalled the text she received and suspected the sender was the mastermind. But that begged the question—who was that person?

Did they have something to do with Graham's disappearance? Or did they save him?

She was drowning in questions, but no one could help her out. The woman added, 'You are asked to leave Bayside City immediately after picking up the man."

Jenny nodded and thanked the woman, "Thank you for taking care of him. I hope you bring this secret to your grave after we leave." Regardless of the woman's identity, Jenny could not trust her and had to remind her to keep her mouth shut.

When Mr. Ortiz handed the woman a check, she seemed taken aback but quickly accepted it with a smile. "Don't you worry. I will not tell anyone."

Next, Jenny asked Mr. Ortiz to instruct the men to carry Graham out of the house as they prepared to leave. When Jenny turned around to exit the house, the woman called her from behind. "By the way, I can offer you some information.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1173-It's a Woman However, the woman did not elaborate on that information. Instead, she glanced at Jenny in anticipation. Speechless, Jenny asked Mr. Ortiz to furnish a second check. "Tell me, what's the info?"

"The person who called me to take care of this man is a woman,’ she answered.

A woman? That was indeed an important clue.

Soon, Jenny left with Mr. Ortiz, Graham, and the other men they brought along.

Graham woke up in the middle of the trip, but she didn't notice it.

"Jenny? Why are you here?" He rubbed his temples and thought Jenny was merely an illusion. At that time, the car had arrived at the entrance to the villa.

Jenny didn't answer, but she opened the car door for him. "Let's talk when we are in the house."

Graham agreed, and he was helped into the villa by Mr. Ortiz.

Once they were in the villa, she reminded Mr. Ortiz to increase the security of the compound by hiring more guards. Somehow, she felt that the case had not come to a close. After she made all the necessary arrangements, she finally turned to Graham. "Dad, can you tell me what happened?"

A moment of silence later, he told her everything from the start. After arriving in Bayside City, he searched for Lynette's whereabouts, but he failed to gather any clues. Just like Mr. Ortiz said, Graham had survived a few assassination attempts, confirming his suspicion that Lynette was indeed in the city. He must have been close to the truth. Otherwise, the mastermind wouldn't have sent assassins after him.

Still, he was unable to get more clues on Lynette. On the day he went missing, he had been walking along the streets when he spotted a woman who looked like her. He sprinted after the woman without much thought and ran into an alley, where the woman vanished into thin air. While worrying about his next move, someone hit his head from behind, and he fainted.

The next thing he knew, he woke up and saw Jenny in front of him.

"So, you're saying that you were unconscious throughout the time you went missing?" she asked.

He nodded, and she frowned. It seemed that the person behind this incident wanted to keep him unconscious on purpose. If so, what would be her motive?

Jenny could not find a reasonable explanation for the move. She was even baffled and sank into silence.

Graham felt bad for her. "I'm sorry, Jenny, for giving you trouble."

"Dad, what are you talking about? I have to save you because you're my dad!’ She sounded impatient and dropped the topic. "Let's focus on finding out the person who hit you. Why did she text me to bring you home? Wasn't that too much?"

Graham nodded, but he held a different opinion. "Jenny, I don't think she has bad intentions. She must have been doing that in my best interest."

"Oh, how is that so?’ "I told you that I survived a few assassination attempts, right? If I kept looking for Lynette, I might run into more attempts. Perhaps, she knocked me out to save me from the danger," he offered his analysis.

She thought his explanation was solid. "So, once she learned I was in Bayside City, she instantly contacted me, telling me to collect you and leave the city."

"Yeah, I think so." He nodded, thinking that there was a good chance they were right.

Jenny agreed with him, but she struggled to figure out the motive of that woman.

"But why did she do so? Does she know you? Why would she help you?"

She did not believe that people would help others out of pure goodwill. She worried that the woman who helped Graham might turn out to be a ticking time bomb if they could not figure out her identity soon.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1174-I Do Not Want to Leave Just Yet Graham had no answer to Jenny's question. "I don't know, but I have a feeling that she isn't acting with malice."

She could have jumped on all the opportunities to take his life when he was unconscious if she had bad intentions.

"That aside, may I know when exactly you plan to leave Bayside City?" Jenny started entertaining the idea of leaving Bayside City with Graham. After all, the city was too dangerous, and she agreed that Graham shouldn't hang around for too long.

He fell silent. A long pause later, he insisted, "Jenny, I dont' want to leave just yet. I have a feeling that your mom's around. If I leave, I might never find her again.’ "I went to check with the Bells. She has left home for decades. Are you sure she's still in Bayside City?’ Jenny countered.

Graham was shocked to hear that Jenny had visited the Bells. "You went to meet them? What were you doing there?"

"They were prime suspects in your disappearance. Of course, I had to question them," she answered, confident in her decision.

Looking defeated, he said, "Why would they tell you the truth if they were behind it? Have you ever considered that something bad could have happened to you when you confronted them without thinking?" The look of protest was written all over his face, and he was slightly enraged.

"Oh, don't worry about it. I know the Bells are quite something in Bayside, but us Walters are not to be messed with as well.’ She smiled. She confronted the Bells exactly because she was confident they wouldn't lay a finger on her.

Graham sighed and let go of the matter because he knew Jenny was strong - willed. He asked, "Did they tell you that your mom has left the family for decades?"

"Yeah. The Bells seemed to be very sensitive around the mention of Lynette Bell. Sounds like she's been away for a long time." Judging from their reaction, Jenny felt that the Bells were telling the truth.

Graham was silent. Where would Lynette be if not with the Bells?

Jenny pressed on, "So, are you not going to leave, even if you know she's not with the Bells?"

"Of course. Even if your mom is not with her family, she must be somewhere in the city. Why else would assassins come after me?" The assassins must have been sent because someone wanted to obstruct his search. It proved that he was going down the correct path.

In the face of his insistence, she knew she couldn't change his mind. ’ Alright then. I'll help you to look for her."

"But Bardoff City…"

"Don't worry. Everything's fine there," she replied.

He didn't say anything after that. He could use an extra pair of hands. Maybe the search would be more effective with two.

Meanwhile, a Dafoe Mansion was located south of Bayside City. The city was full of mid and small-sized families like the Bells, but the Dafoes were on another level-they were the kings. It was not an exaggeration to describe the city as belonging to the Dafoe family. Anyone who wanted to make a living in the city needed the approval of the Dafoes. Otherwise, their business would fail, or worse, they might end up as bodies abandoned in deserted corners of the city.

The mansion was gorgeously and intricately designed in a courtyard style. Birds and blossoms filled the courtyards, turning the compound into heaven on earth.

Lynette Bell sat in her bedroom as she watched the view of the courtyard, but she wasn't in the mood to enjoy it. Clutching her phone, she constantly fixed her gaze on the screen until it lit up from a text notification. "They picked him up."

She let out a relieved sigh. Next, she took out the SIM card, crushed it in half, and threw it into the toilet.

When she was done, she heard a knock on the bathroom door. "Lyn."

Her adrenaline rushed as she forced herself to calm down. She combed her hair in front of the mirror and finally wandered out of the bathroom once she found no hint of panic in her.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1175-?

"What are you doing in there?"

She heard a man's voice from above her head. Her heart sank, but she acted normal by looking into his eyes. ’What else can I do in the bathroom? If He gave her a doubtful look as if he wanted to find the truth in her eyes. Too bad she was no longer the naive young lady she used to be. Now in her forties, she was no longer youthful and had long shed her innocence from her younger times.

"Why are you here?" She looked away and went around him. Eric Dafoe stared at her but did not ask more questions. "There's a dinner tonight.

You'll go with me."

That was not a question; it was an announcement.

Lynette wasn’t surprised at his attitude. He had always been like that. "Me again? You have an endless supply of women around you. Why do you always want me to go with you? Aren't you worried that I'd stir trouble?"

"Lynette Bell, you are my wife!" Eric looked furious. He hated when Lynette put on an uninterested look. She always seemed unbothered by the number of women he kept outside.

She smirked at his words and leaned against the wall, staring coldly at him.

"Wife? That's an unfamiliar word."

"Cut the nonsense. Are you going or not?" he snickered.

She pursed her lips but ultimately agreed to it. After all, she had to keep an eye on Eric in case he sent someone to assassinate Graham again.

Eric left the bedroom and went into his study.

"Sir," the assistant lowered his head and greeted Eric right when he entered.

Eric took a seat and asked, "Is Graham Walter dead?"

The assistant's expression froze in terror. "I'm sorry, sir. Graham Walter went missing, and we haven't found him."

"You haven't? What are you doing?" Eric was unhappy with his men and questioned their abilities for failing to get rid of Graham Walter.

The assistant dared not utter a word. Worse, his phone buzzed at the wrong time, making him sweat all over.

Eric glanced at the unmoving assistant and said unhappily, "Take the call! What are you doing, standing there?"

"Oh, sure." The assistant quickly picked up the call. Soon, a smile appeared on his face. "Sir, Graham Walter showed up."

"Okay. So, you know what to do, right?" Eric looked intently at him. If his men failed to kill Graham Walter, they'd be good for nothing, and he would have no reason to keep them around.

The assistant nodded furiously and was driven out of the study by Eric.

Meanwhile, Eric sat in his chair, staring blankly at the room next door. No one knew what was on his mind.

Back at Graham's villa, Mr. Ortiz looked a little concerned. ’Miss Walter, Mr.

Walter has just come home. If the outsiders learn about him, they might send someone to murder him." In his opinion, Graham should be kept hidden.

"Mr. Ortiz, since we're here to look for Lynette, we need some clues. If those people do not show themselves, how will we get the clues?" At the very least, they should figure out who harmed Graham.

In contrast to Mr. Ortiz's worried face, Jenny was totally laid back. "Isn't there a charity dinner tonight in Bayside City?"

"Yes. There seems to be one," he answered.

Jenny stood up and beamed at him. "Get my dad ready. We'll attend the dinner tonight."

"Huh?" Mr. Ortiz was confounded. "Miss Walter, shouldn't we lay low during these times?" They had attracted unwanted attention with just their presence. If they attended the dinner, they'd only attract more eyes.

Moreover, Mr. Ortiz felt that Graham was in no mood to attend any charity dinner.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1176-Lynette Bell Knowing what Mr. Ortiz was thinking, she smiled and said, "We don't have clues now. If we attend dinners like this, we could at least get something. Go, Mr.

Ortiz. Tell my dad everything I’ve said. He will go.’ She knew Graham would agree to anything as long as he could find Lynette.

And she was right. After hearing the message conveyed by Mr. Ortiz, Graham agreed to the idea without hesitation. Mr. Ortiz was visibly worried, but all he could do was arrange for more bodyguards.

When night descended on Bayside City, crowds were swelling in its grandest five-star luxury hotel. Those who attended the charity dinner were famous names in the city. They mingled around with wine glasses in their hands. Those who watched from the outside might mistakenly think of it as a meetup among close acquaintances.

The dinner was about to start when Jenny and Graham showed up. They located their seats and sat down. Since they were at the event searching for clues, she kept a low profile and picked a place in the back, where she started observing the guests in attendance.

Barry Bell and Georgina Simpson were in attendance as well. They sat in the row before Jenny, but they didn't notice the presence of Jenny and Graham.

Just when Jenny thought the dinner was starting, the door to the hall opened, accompanied by a flurry of activity.

"It's Eric Dafoe!" someone gasped.

"He even brought Lynette Bell to the event. The audacity!" another added.

Jenny and Graham were shocked to hear Lynette's name, and both turned to look at the two guests. At the door, Eric had an arm around Lynette’s waist.

Although both were no longer youthful, they looked regal from afar. Complicated emotions gripped Jenny. The woman for whom her dad was searching high and low effortlessly showed up before him with another man. Worried for him, she turned to look at him. ’Dad, are you okay?"

Graham didn't answer. She looked closer and saw tears shimmering in his eyes.

His attention wasn't on the man with Lynette; he cared more about Lynette herself. Indeed, anyone would be as agitated as him at a reunion after decades.

Lynette seemed to have sensed Graham's burning gaze. She wanted to turn around to have a look, but Eric forcefully led her to the first row and sat her down. The couple didn't notice Graham's presence, and Lynette kept her mouth sealed about her odd feelings just now. Instead, she sat beside Eric with feelings of resentment and disgust for her partner.

The dinner started in no time. The items at the auction were all sponsored by the dinner guests. Jenny sponsored an item in her collection-a ruby pendant left behind by Lynette years ago- to look for her mom. To her disbelief, Lynette turned up at the event with a man. The man seemed to be an Eric Dafoe from the whispers around her.

Jenny pulled out her phone and covertly texted Zack, asking for help to look into Eric Dafoe, who appeared to be from an unusual social background. She knew she had to proceed carefully from now on.

The auction continued. The items auctioned at the beginning did not attract Eric's attention. His eyes were mainly on Lynette. When she expressed a liking toward any of the items auctioned, he'd win the bidding to get it for her, and his biddings were generous.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1177-She Found Love Again Graham collected himself, his eyes still on Eric and Lynette in the front row with a bitter smile on his face. "Looks like your mom has found love again after all these years. That's good.’ He had no plan to disturb Lynette. If she was truly happy, he would not interfere in her life.

At that time, Jenny looked away from her phone after reading the information sent by Zack. The sight of Eric and Lynette seemed the more ironic to her.

"Dad, you're overthinking. Don't you think Lynette doesn't like Eric Dafoe?"

Jenny still squirmed at the thought of addressing Lynette as "Mom". After all, they'd never met in person. It took her a long time to address Graham as "Dad."

At this moment, Lynette was nothing more than a stranger to her. Had it not been for Graham's insistence to search for Lynette, Jenny was prepared to live a life without her mom.

However, her mindset shifted after she read the details about Eric.

Graham turned to her with a confused look. "What do you mean? Is your mom forced into the relationship?"

"From the information in my hands, after her family took her back to Bayside City, she was forced into marrying Eric Dafoe. They don't have a good relationship over these years." The information showed that Lynette wasn't into Eric, but the man seemed to treat her well.

Still, Jenny believed that there was more to the story. Even if Lynette disliked Eric, she could have treated him with basic respect. There must be a good reason behind her intense disgust for him, and Jenny was sure she’d find out the truth sooner or later.

Graham didn't know what to feel about the information. "If your mom doesn't like Eric Dafoe, we need to figure out a way to help her escape!" He knew too well the torturous feeling of spending years with a partner one didn't love.

"Let's find a chance to ask more questions about this statement. What if the information is incorrect? We can't break their marriage." Although she hoped to see Graham living out his later years in happiness, they should not be breaking up anyone's family in the process. Even if Graham was her dad, she would not accept him if he ruined anyone's family.

Graham nodded. He didn't need Jenny's reminder. "Don't worry. I'm not that hopeless."

The auction was still ongoing, and Lynette felt someone's gaze on her. In Eric's presence, she dared not act in a way that raised eyebrows. She focused on the items on the stage to divert her attention.

“The next item is a ruby pendant sponsored by Miss Jenny Walter from Bardoff City. The starting bid is one million dollars." Once the host introduced the items, the guests at the event started whispering to each other. The Walters, from Bardoff City? Why would the Walters attend this particular charity dinner?

Not only was Jenny unflinching in the face of the attention and gossip, but she also stood up and greeted everyone at the event. This time, Lynette finally noticed Jenny’s presence. In fact, Lynette's mind was a mess after she heard the Walters being mentioned onstage. She immediately knew Jenny's identity from their close resemblance. She turned to the ruby pendant being auctioned on the stage, and her face soured.

The ruby pendant was something she left behind for Jenny before her family dragged her away. She was surprised to see the ruby pendant again and at an auction event at that.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1178-That's an Honor In a second, multiple thoughts rushed through Lynette's mind. Eric clearly spotted the change in her expression and cast a different look at Jenny.

The auction started. Someone bid for the ruby pendant, but not for much. There was no reason to keep the pendant in the auction since Jenny had intended to look for Lynette with the pendant, but Lynette was right there in front of her. So, she decided to take back the ruby pendant by bidding for it.

"Five million." Jenny raised her auction paddle. The people around her understood her intention and let her have her way. They did not want to get on the wrong side of a Bardoff City family.

Just when Jenny was expecting to retrieve the ruby pendant, Eric raised his auction paddle from the front row. "Ten million."

There was a collective gasp because no one had expected Eric to express interest in the pendant. He spun around and looked at Jenny. "I'm sorry, Miss Walter. My wife loves the ruby pendant."

"Is that so? That's an honor, but it's an item that my mom left behind for me. If possible, I'd like to have it back." With that, she raised her paddle and pushed the bid up to 15 million dollars. By saying that, she informed Eric of her identity.

She knew he was not dumb, and he would figure out her identity by now.

Before this, she had doubts about the claims of a bad relationship between Lynette and Eric. By now, she was confident that there were no feelings of love between the two. Lynette feared Eric, and he was driven by a sickly urge to possess her. She decided that she'd bring Lynette with her.

"20 million." Eric engaged in a battle with her. She smiled and offered 30 million, but he doggedly outbid her.

Feeling defeated, she said to Eric, "Mr. Dafoe, why don't you offer 100 million dollars if you can afford it? I'll give up if you do so. Otherwise, keeping up this bidding war is a waste of time." She made it clear-if Eric could not afford to offer 100 million dollars, he shouldn't waste his time bidding because she was more than capable of offering that figure.

"If so, I shall grant your wish." He scoffed and lifted his paddle. "100 million! 11 Everyone gasped again. No one had expected the unassuming ruby pendant to be the item that was auctioned off at the highest price in this event. More than that, they were curious about Eric's feelings for Lynette.

Rumors had it that the couple were not close. Someone even claimed that Eric physically abused her at home. But if the couple were on bad terms, why would Eric spend 100 million dollars on an item Lynette loved?

Lynette had no idea what was going on in the mind of others. If she knew, she would scoff and spit on their rosy take. Others might not understand Eric's motive, but she knew he was doing everything out of his urge to possess her.

Eric knew about Jenny's identity, and he naturally noticed Graham, who was right beside Jenny. Of course, he would not admit defeat in front of his wife's exlover.

Lynette and Graham exchanged glances. The last time they looked at each other was decades ago. They were no longer a young man and young lady, but they confirmed their feelings for each other after the look. Falling for each other again after many years-that was the definition of true love.

"Congratulations, Mr. Dafoe! The ruby pendant is yours." Jenny gave up on the bidding war. "I've long heard that the wealth of the Dafoes from Bayside City could rival that of a nation's riches. The rumors are true!"

She had poured over the information sent by Zack, from which she learned the prowess of the Dafoes. But she was not going to back down.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1179-I Never Joke Around Eric shot a glance at her and smiled. "Miss Walter, you are being humble.

Everyone here knows that the Walters is one of the Ten Elites in Bardoff City."

The guests were speechless. Right, the Dafoes and the Walters were influential families everyone had to defer to.

"If that's the case, I wonder if you're interested in a partnership?" she inquired.

Eric was astonished at her comments because he could not figure out what she was up to.

"I'll discuss further with you after the auction." Since the auction was ongoing, she didn't want to discuss more under the watchful gazes of the others.

The conversation ended there, and the auction took off again. Still, Jenny and Eric were not in the mood to watch anymore.

Eric whispered in Lynette's ear, "Your daughter is way more clever than you. "

Lynette did not say a word. He added, "What do you think the father and daughter are up to? Are they here to bring you with them?" Upon closer look, the smile on his face appeared murderous.

She bit her lip and denied it, "You're thinking too much. I'm now your wife. Why would I leave with them?"

"Is that so? Good." He chuckled and said no more. No one could tell if he was convinced by Lynette's words.

At the same time, Lynette was dumbfounded by Jenny’s move. She wondered, "Jenny, what exactly are you doing? Didn't I ask you to leave with your dad?

How could you engage in his shenanigans?"

After Jenny took her seat, Graham frowned. "Jenny, what are you…"

"Dad, it's fine. Everyone knows what's going on, and there's no need to beat around the bush with Eric Dafoe. Even if you claim you're not here to look for Lynette, he wouldn't believe you." Jenny was unconcerned. Eric would make a move anyway, so all they needed to do was to prepare for the imminent attack.

Graham nodded. After learning that Lynette wasn't having a good time with Eric, he badly wanted to leave Bayside City with her. Therefore, he offered Jenny his full support. His only concern was for Jenny's safety.

The auction came to a close, and thus began the boring dinner event. Between the glass clinking and small talk, Jenny located Eric and prepared to approach him with a glass of champagne.

"Jenny, you…" Graham was concerned. ’Why don't I go to him instead?"

"Oh, forget about it. You're his love rival. I'm scared that he'd only end up fighting you."

If the two grown men were embroiled in a fight, they'd only humiliate themselves. Plus, Jenny knew that Graham was no match for Eric in a physical battle.

Graham did not refute. After learning that Eric wasn't treating Lynette right, he knew that he would be easily incensed upon seeing the man.

Jenny told him not to worry and instructed him, "I'll buy time by talking to Eric.

You'll take the opportunity to find Lynette and clarify the situation, especially asking her if she's willing to leave with us."

"Yes. Got it." He nodded.

Then, Jenny left him and marched in Eric's direction.

"Mr. Dafoe!" She looked at him with a smile. Eric was standing with Lynette beside him. ’Let's continue our conversation from before. I'm very interested in a partnership with the Dafoes."

He snickered and raised an eyebrow at her. "Miss Walter, are you joking with me now?"

"Of course not! I never joke around." But she had no idea if the "partnership "

would ever come to fruition. Eric scrutinized her, his eyes traveling between her and Lynette. "Miss Walter, you resemble my wife."

Jenny chuckled and winked at him. "Well, that's for sure. Mrs. Dafoe is my mother, after all.’

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1180-for the Partnership?

Silence hung over them after Jenny's remark. It was so quiet that the only sounds heard were their breathing. Eric and Lynette were shocked at how casually Jenny dropped the information, which was different from what they had anticipated.

"Mrs. Dafoe, you look shocked. Do you need to take a breather in the bathroom?" Jenny stared at Lynette.

Lynette wanted to say that was unnecessary, but she noticed the look in Jenny's eyes and guessed that her daughter had other plans. "You're right. I need to leave for a moment to calm down."

She looked at Eric. He caught the back-and-forth between Lynette and Jenny but was not too bothered because he knew they could not do much in his territory.

"Go. Call me if you need anything,’ he said to her. She nodded with a wry smile and headed for the bathroom. When she was far away, Eric's expression changed. He wiped the fake smile off his face. "Miss Walter, what are you up to?"

"Mr. Dafoe, you're overthinking things. I really want to work with you. I think Bayside City is a decent place. If the Walters ever expands our business here, we'll still need your support," she assured him with a smile.

He glanced at her, not believing a single word out of the mouth of this shrewd young lady. Still, he couldn't be bothered to call her out because he would soon find out about her plan.

"Are you saying the Walters wants to expand in Bayside City? Why? Is Bardoff City too cramped for the Ten Elites?" he scoffed, sounding disdainful at the mention of the Ten Elites.

Jenny didn't mind his arrogance, knowing he was born into wealth. "That's right.

Everyone's looking for better opportunities elsewhere. We're the same."

"Hah! And what's your plan for the partnership?" he asked. Next, Jenny started bluffing him. She was not a business expert, but she learned a few tricks after spending time with Alec.

Meanwhile, Lynette was trying to calm down in the bathroom. She started thinking about the reason Jenny wanted her to come there. Someone entered the bathroom, interrupting her thoughts. When she turned around, she immediately understood Jenny's intention.

"Nettie." Graham's eyes were brimming with tears as he stared at the woman in front of him in a daze. He had never thought that he could see her again in this life.

Her first reaction upon seeing him was panic. "Why are you here? Leave right now!" She was scared that Eric's men would spot them together. If Eric learned about their short encounter, given his character, he would never spare Graham.

"Nettie, how have you been doing over the years?" Graham ignored her words and pressed on.

Tears filled her eyes when she felt his care for her. "I'm pretty good. How about you?"

"I-I'm not," he confessed to her. "Life hasn't been good ever since you left."

"How is that so? I heard you got married and had a daughter." Lynette smiled bitterly. She picked up the details from Eric, who would spite her with Graham's life updates during their arguments to force her into giving up on him.

Graham felt a little sorry for Lynette when she mentioned his second marriage.

"I'm sorry, Nettie. I was…"

"You don't have to explain to me. I've been married for years now. We have our lives. You shouldn't come looking for me anymore." She refused to listen to him.

No matter the reason behind his second marriage, it wouldn't change the fact that he was a married man.
