To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1011-Don't You Think It's Selfish?

"There’s no need. I'll go over by myself,’ Jenny declined quickly. Things were incredibly awkward.

Unfortunately, Evan refused to leave. "I'm already downstairs. Aren't you going to let me go up? Besides, you have to move all your things. Can you handle them?' God knew how happy Evan was when Jenny agreed to move in with him. He'd come there early to personally bring her over.

Jenny wanted to say that she could, but he was already downstairs. He wouldn't leave no matter what she said. "I'll come down to get you."

"It's alright. I have an assistant. Just tell me which floor you're on.' Evan didn't want to trouble Jenny. He was wheelchair-bound, but that didn't mean he had completely lost his mobility.

Jenny had no choice but to tell him which floor she was on. She hung up and looked at Alec anxiously.

"Evan is coming up. Why don't you…" Jenny opened her mouth to speak but didn't know how to express what she wanted. Alec had made this breakfast.

How could she chase him out?

Alec knew what she wanted to say, but he didn’t want to leave. "It's not like I have to hide. Do I have to avoid him?"

"I'm just worried that you'll fight with him.’ Both of them were important to her.

She didn't want that to happen.

Alec sighed. He didn't know what to do with her. "Don't worry, Jenny. I won't pick a fight if Evan doesn't come looking for trouble."

Alec had to tolerate Evan. He saved Jenny, after all. But only if the man didn't start a fight.

"Alright," Jenny said, and nothing more. She had no reason to let him leave.

Soon, the doorbell rang. Evan appeared at the door. When he saw that it was Alec who opened the door, the smile on his face vanished.

"Why are you here?" he asked, frowning.

Alec smiled and said, "I came to make her breakfast. I might have made you some if you said you were coming earlier."

Alec looked at the things that the person behind Evan was carrying. It was also breakfast of some sort.

Alec wanted to smile but held it in for Jenny's sake.

"Thank you, Mr. Faust, but I've already eaten." Evan's face was cold. He moved past Alec. His assistant pushed him into the apartment.

"Evan." Jenny got up, inviting him in.

Evan glanced at the dining table. Indeed, they were having breakfast before he arrived. He felt upset, but he was glad to have appeared in time. He didn't want them to be alone for too long.

"Have you packed up your things, Jenny?" Evan asked. He glanced at Alec. As expected, Alec didn't look happy. Evan's mood lifted.

Jenny did not notice that. She replied simply, "Yes."

"Alright. Let's leave after breakfast. We need to see if anything needs to be fixed in the villa.' They didn't know how long Jenny would be there. She could even be there forever.

Jenny said nothing and nodded, but Alec couldn't bear to listen any longer.

He went to the dining table and sat, saying in a mocking tone, "Do you really think it's fair to Jenny? Don't you think it's selfish?"

"Alec…"

Jenny wanted to stop him from saying unpleasant things, but Evan said, "I told Jenny before that I wouldn't force her to move if she didn't want to. I'll ask you again, Jenny. Do you want to move? If you don't, I'll leave immediately and won't hold this against you. I saved you voluntarily. I don't care even that I'm wheelchair-bound. I don't want you to be miserable."

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1012-Won't Let You Succeed He said it sincerely. Jenny’s eyes reddened as she listened.

But Alec wanted to laugh. Evan's words sounded sweet, but he wouldn't have said things like that if he didn’t want her to stay with him. He was saying it only because he was sure that she would agree.

"You don't have to say anymore, Evan. I'm taking care of you voluntarily," Jenny replied. She wasn't cold and ruthless. Evan had sacrificed his life for her.

Couldn't she take care of him?

Alec said that Evan was being selfish. Jenny felt that if she were to decline Evan, she'd be the selfish one.

Jenny's response was just as Alec expected. He glared at Evan coldly. Why hadn't he realized how sly this person was before?

Alec said nothing. He knew that he couldn't change anything.

"Come eat breakfast, Jenny," Alec said. He ignored Evan altogether.

Jenny murmured in response and looked at Evan. 'Have you eaten, Evan?"

"Yes, I have. You can go eat." Evan smiled at her. He didn't care if he suffered for a bit, as long as things escalated to the same outcome.

He didn't care about one-upping Alec. He was just a loser. So what if he felt upset on the inside?

Just like that, Alec and Jenny ate breakfast together while Evan and his assistant waited for them.

It was weird, but no one dared to break the silence. Not long after, breakfast was over, much to Alec's unwillingness. Jenny had to leave with Evan.

Before they left, Alec leaned in toward Evan and said in a soft voice, ' Don't think that I don't know what you're playing at. I wont let you succeed."

"I don't know what you're saying, Mr. Faust." Evan acted dumb, merely letting Howard follow him and Jenny. Who would care about Alec?

The elevator doors slid shut, and the two disappeared from Alec's sight. Alec felt like he had swallowed a ball of pain that had no way of being released.

He kicked the wall hard, but that achieved nothing except the pain in his foot.

He took his phone out and dialed Vincent's number. "Is that doctor here? Tell him to hurry up. I want to see him today." Alec thought Evan was fine. He seriously doubted if Evan really needed to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. "By the way, find out where Evan's villa is. I'm going to move in next door!" He wanted to keep on observing Evan. He would not let him win.

Downstairs, Evan knew nothing of what Alec was doing.

The car had already begun to move, heading toward the villa.

"By the way, Evan, this means you won't have to go to the company, will you?"

Jenny asked. Although she didn't involve herself in Walter Inc's matters, she was still the president. She could cover him somewhat.

Evan shook his head and said, "It's okay. I still have to work. I'll feel better if I do.

Don't worry, Jenny. Just because you're coming to take care of me doesn't mean I'll need your supervision every waking hour. You can still go to work like before. It's just that if I see you every day, I'll feel much better, and the pain won't feel as bad anymore."

He said it all very sincerely. Jenny couldn't bear it. "But it'll be tiring if you go to work every day." "It's okay. I'm fine with being physically exhausted, not mentally.' Evan smiled.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1013-Is That It?

When Jenny heard that, she opened her mouth, yet was at a loss for words.

She chose to remain silent.

Not long after, they reached Evan's villa. Howard helped her bring her things inside.

"Jenny, go pick out a room that you like." There were many rooms in the villa.

Besides the master bedroom where he slept, every other room was empty.

"I'll just stay in the room next to yours.=," Jenny said. "It'll be easier for me to care for you."

"Alright." Evan nodded and looked at Howard. "Put Jenny's things in the room."

"Alright." Howard took her suitcases upstairs.

Jenny stared as Howard left. It was then that Evan introduced him to her." He was my assistant when I was overseas. When he heard about the incident, he flew over to see me. You can order him around in the future."

"He…probably isn't just an assistant, is he?" Jenny smiled dryly. She wasn't clueless about what Evan did. How could he have an assistant in this situation?

Evan was stunned. He’d forgotten that he had already told her about his business overseas. Although Jenny didn't know that he was the commander of a troop of assassins, she knew that the work he did was dirty.

He snapped back to reality and smiled, saying, "It's not as bad as you think. I was just a muscleman. Because of my skills, I managed to have a few students."

"Is that it?" Jenny was surprised. She thought that Evan was the ringleader of some sort of gang.

"Of course. Don't overestimate me." Evan smiled, not planning on continuing the topic.

Jenny didn't press on. She remembered Alec saying that the doctor would arrive in two days. ’There'll be a doctor coming in two days. Why don't you let him perform a checkup on you?"

"Alright." Evan wanted to refuse, but he couldn't say it to Jenny.

He would never let the doctor touch him. As for what to do when that happened, Evan wasn't too worried.

Once the room was cleaned up, Evan told Jenny to rest. He went back to his own room.

Howard was already waiting for him.

"Have you found that missing henchman?" Evan said, getting up from his wheelchair.

If Jenny walked in now, she would be able to see this astonishing sight.

Unfortunately, she was staring into space in the other room. She would never, in a million years, think that Evan's injuries were fake.

Howard looked upset. "Not yet."

"Keep looking. We must find him no matter what." Evan would be at ease if he were dead. What he feared was if he was still alive and was being held hostage by someone. Especially if that someone was Alec.

At the thought, he said, "Get someone to observe movement on Alec's side. You know what to do if he's found with the hostage."

"Alright." Howard nodded and asked, "How long are you planning to keep up this pretense? I'm afraid that people are going to attack you once they know you're hurt.’ Evan sneered. "Really? That would be even better, then. We could finish them all together."

Evan was no saint.

"But…we don't have enough men.’ They had suffered a great loss before, and this plan had caused them to lose yet another group of people. They were already running out of manpower in the country.

"Don't fret. I've already contacted the other side. There will be people joining us soon." Evan waved his hand around, wanting to put Howard at ease.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1014-This is My Personal Business Howard didn't fret about the matter. He looked at the room next door, seemingly struggling to find the words to say. "Do you really like Jenny, sir?"

"I'm warning you, don't you dare harbor any ill-intentions toward her." Evan's face turned sour. He would not allow anyone to lay their hands on Jenny, not even Howard.

Howard turned pale, understanding what Evan meant. "You care too much for her. That's not good."

If he cared too much about her, she would become his weakness. If Evan had a weakness, he would not be able to be the commander of his assassins.

"This is my personal business. It's none of yours." Evan waved him off, clearly not wanting to talk about it anymore.

Howard had no choice but to stay silent.

"You may leave." Evan sat in his wheelchair once more, becoming immobile.

Howard's eyes flickered. He left the bedroom, saying nothing.

After he left, Evan left his room and knocked on Jenny's door.

Jenny was lying on the foreign bed. She wasn't sleepy, so when she heard the knock, she got up and opened the door. "What's wrong, Evan?"

"What would you like to have for lunch? I'll get the kitchens to prepare it.” Evan was still wearing a smile on his face as if no trace of sadness was to be seen.

Jenny felt that Evan was hard to read. She didn't care either. She just wanted to take care of him.

"I'm fine with anything. You can make the arrangements.’ Jenny didn't care about it. Besides, she had no appetite.

She pushed him downstairs and went into the kitchen. He ordered them to cook their lunch, and it was all food that Jenny liked.

They got along pretty well together. It was just Alec who was unhappy.

Vincent had found the best doctor in the world and had brought him to Bardoff City. Before he went to see Evan, Vincent took the records from the hospital and showed them to him. However, after seeing the records, the doctor said there was no way to cure him. Not even by his hands.

"Is it really that serious?" Alec said, speaking the doctor's foreign language perfectly.

The doctor nodded. "Yes. It is very serious indeed. In fact, even sitting in a wheelchair with this condition is hard to do, much less recover."

"What do you mean?" Alec frowned.

"He should be resting in bed. It will be very hard for him to move," the doctor said.

Alec thought of how Evan interacted with them in the morning and felt that Evan hadn't even been in pain in that wheelchair. He sighed. "Alright.

Please perform an extensive checkup on him tonight."

Although the records showed that recovery was beyond the realms of possibility, Alec still did not give up hope. He wanted to thoroughly examine Evan.

"Alright." The doctor did not object. He was brought over at a high price. It was what he was supposed to do.

After sending him off to rest, Alec grew quiet.

If there was no way to treat Evan, did that mean Jenny would have to look after him for the rest of her life?

He couldn't let that happen. Not a chance.

He turned and looked at Vincent. "Keep looking for doctors. I don't care what they specialize in as long as they can cure Evan. Bring them all to me."

He didn't believe that Evan's injuries were so hard to treat. Besides, Evan seemed perfectly fine sitting in that wheelchair.

"Alright, sir. I'll keep looking." Vincent nodded and continued, "There seems to be turmoil in the Fausts. Things are happening, and Yakov can't handle them.

Even Zeke can't stand it anymore."

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1015-be expected. "There are many families in Bardoff City. Plenty of them have their sights set on the Fausts. They never had the chance to strike before, but now they do. Of course, they'd have to kick them down. We'll just wait. As long as Zeke does not think of a plan quickly, those people will only grow more aggressive, and the Fausts will be destroyed."

When that time came, they might even be bankrupt. After all, the Fausts were not doing clean work.

"What if Zeke would rather let the Fausts be destroyed than look for your help?"

Vincent knew that Alec's ultimate goal was to inherit the Fausts. He was afraid that Zeke would be stubborn.

Alec sneered, not worried at all. "Relax. He'd never sit by and watch if that happened."

Alec knew how much Zeke valued the Fausts. That was precisely the reason Alec was sure he would become their last hope.

"Okay." Vincent harbored no doubts. He trusted Alec's abilities fully.

He hadn't yet left the room. Alec looked at him. ’Is there anything else?"

"The hospital called. They said…they said that Mr. Mortimer seems about to awaken.” Vincent was troubled. He knew how Alec felt about Mortimer. He'd never see him as a father.

Alec was surprised. Could a person like that still come back to life?

"Does Alfred know about this?" Alfred was Mortimer's son now. Alec couldn't be bothered. He'd sent someone to look over Mortimer so that Mortimer would not play any tricks. It wasn't because Alec cared about him.

"Yes, he does." Vincent nodded.

Alec waved his hand dismissively. "That's alright, then. We need not interfere."

"Alright." Vincent was not surprised. He just knew that he had to tell Alec about it.

After a while, Alec said, 'If he really does awaken, get someone to fetch my grandfather over. I was worried about him being in Parrington. It'd be better if he were here."

Alec didn't want to bring him over before because he was afraid that Old Mr.

Faust would not be able to handle the news of his son's state. But now that Mortimer was awake, Alec didn't have to worry.

"He might not come over. He can't bear to leave Parrington behind," Vincent said.

"Just ask him if he'd like to see his grandson sit at the top of the Fausts. He'll come if he does." Old Mr. Faust was very insistent about that. If Alec said that, he might just come.

Vincent nodded and turned to leave.

After he left, Alec worked on his laptop. Then, he went out. He looked at Jenny's house next to his and sighed.

She probably wasn't going to come back for a long time.

He started the car and drove toward Evan’s villa.

In the afternoon, Jenny and Evan had their lunch and were currently taking a stroll in his garden. In the villa next door, Alec opened the window and smiled at them.

"Have you eaten yet, Jenny?"

The two villas were near each other. Since Jenny and Evan were in the garden, they saw and heard him easily.

Their expressions said different things. Jenny was surprised. Evan looked as if he wanted to murder him.

"Why are you here?" Jenny came to her senses.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1016-t him for her. Well, that would depend on whether he could Jenny was speechless. Alec was on the second floor of the villa next to them.

He wasn't kidding.

"You've got too much time on your hands, Mr. Faust." Evan sneered, suppressing the anger in his chest.

"Not really. I'm just rich." Although Alec still hadn't inherited the Fausts, money was not a problem.

His words incensed Evan. Alec was rich; that was true. Evan busted his ass off overseas, sacrificing his life for money, and was still nowhere as rich as Alec.

Sometimes he was amazed by how unfair life could be.

Alec was born into a more affluent family than he was. That was fine because Evan could fight for the same things later on. But Alec was still better at earning money.

Although Wagner Group was controlled by Paul on the surface, Evan knew that it actually still belonged to Alec. On top of that, Alec had assets all over the globe. Even if he didn't inherit the Fausts, he was still much richer than him.

Besides, it was still possible that the Fausts would be given to Alec.

Evan snorted and said indignantly, "It's no wonder you've got that rich stink.

II "That's not very nice, Mr. Clarke. You've earned quite a bit over the years as well." Alec looked at him coldly. He knew what Evan had done overseas.

At least Alec's ways of earning money were honest. Evan's were dirty.

If it weren't for the promise he made during Xavier's murder to not tell Jenny about what Evan had done, Alec would have dragged out every skeleton in Evan's closet.

Evan could feel that Alec was threatening him, and he glared at him. ’ Jenny, I'm feeling unwell. Wheel me into my room.' "Unwell? Where? Do you need a doctor to examine you?" Jenny was worried.

Evan shook his head. "There's no need. I'm just feeling light-headed. Some rest will suffice."

"That's great. You have to let me know if you're feeling sick." Jenny pushed him back into the villa. She had no time to entertain Alec right now. After all, no one had told Alec to infuriate Evan. Although she hadn't understood what was said between them, she sensed Alec's animosity toward the man.

She knew the reason behind it. She couldn't blame Alec entirely. However, Evan was a patient. Jenny hoped that Alec wouldn’t trouble him at the moment.

When they left, Alec saw Evan look back to smile at him. It was a smile full of glee.

He was taunting him. So what if Alec had money? So what if he had moved in next door? Jenny was still by Evan's side.

Evan's actions were indeed infuriating. Alec gnashed his teeth. He had to stop himself from rushing forward to punch him.

After sending Evan to his room, Jenny went back to her bedroom. While she lay in her bed in a daze, something knocked on her window.

She was on the second floor.

She got up apprehensively. The next second, she saw Alec's smile.

As luck would have it, her bedroom faced Alec's study directly. He was currently using a pole to knock on her window.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1017-Just Miss You "What are you doing, Alec?" Jenny glared at him. She hadn't expected him to move and to be so near.

Alec smiled at her. This villa was built in the perfect spot. Even if Jenny and Evan stayed in the same room, he would be able to see their movements. It was so convenient.

"Have you had your lunch?" Alec asked.

Jenny nodded, thinking that he simply had nothing to do. "You look carefree."

"Not really. I just miss you," Alec said those tender words with a tender look on his face. Jenny blushed, unable to describe what she was feeling.

Just before she was about to speak, Evan pushed his window open next door.

He glared at Alec coldly and said, ' Do you know what being a public nuisance means?"

"Was I being that loud? Were you tossing and turning in bed, perhaps?" Alec mocked. He hadn't even been able to talk with Jenny.

Evan didn't plan on arguing with him. He looked at Jenny. "You can go over to his house if you'd like to say anything to him. I'd like to rest."

"Sorry, Evan," Jenny apologized. She could tell that he was in a bad mood." You can go rest. I won’t bother you."

"Great." Evan closed his window as if he were really going to rest.

Jenny waved to Alec. But then, he called her phone, and she picked up in bewilderment. "What?"

"This would work, wouldn't it? Don't go. Just let me look at you," Alec said, looking at her.

His voice had grown softer. Even Evan wouldn't be able to nitpick at it.

Evan stood behind his window, watching Alec's smile through the crack in the curtain. His intent to kill had long spread through his entire body.

Did he honestly have no way to win against Alec?

That afternoon, Alec and Jenny talked for two hours over the phone. They only hung up when they had nothing else to say.

Before an hour had even passed after their call, Alec appeared once more in Jenny's sight. This time, he knocked on the main door.

"What's wrong, Mr. Clarke? Aren't you going to let me in?" Alec stood outside the door, looking at Evan.

Evan was already planning to kill him. He hadn't even thought that Alec was this annoying before. He was like a piece of gum stuck fast to the bottom of his shoe, no matter how hard he tried to peel it off.

However, he kept a smile on his face. "Do come in."

Howard opened the door a little deviously for him. It was then that they realized Alec had company.

An old man stood behind him. Jenny thought that he looked familiar.

They went into the living room before Alec introduced him to them. He was a famous chiropractor and was the best when it came to injuries like Evan's.

"I specially invited Dr. Julian Gaarder over to examine you. He's old and skilled.

There might be a way to treat this," Alec said.

No matter how much he hated Evan, he wanted to see him go back to normal.

Thus, he did his best to procure a doctor for him.

Evan didn't react to Alec's words, but Jenny did. "Hello, Dr. Gaarder. I can't believe that I'm seeing you in person."

It was no wonder she thought he was familiar. He was someone who frequently appeared in her textbooks. Although she was not a chiropractor, she knew of him. That was why she was so excited.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1018-The Bias Runs Deep Once the formalities were over, Jenny looked at Evan excitedly. "With Dr.

Gaarder's help, Evan, you'll definitely recover."

However, Evan didn't reply. He had not expected Alec to put in so much effort in finding treatment for him.

Of course, Evan didn't think Alec was doing this for his own good. He just wanted to steal Jenny away from him.

His face darkened, and he said calmly, "There's no need. I believe in the doctors at Bardoff Hospital. They will find a way to treat me. I don't trust anyone that Alec brings me."

"Don't be too cocky, Evan!" Alec roared.

Jenny rushed over to advise him as well. "Evan, Dr. Gaarder is a specialist in this field. Just let him examine you."

"There's no need," Evan insisted. He looked at Dr. Gaarder. "Thank you for coming here personally. However, I don't quite need you at the moment."

Dr. Gaarder had never encountered something like this before. However, he was not angry. He'd seen many things in his old age, and he could tell what was happening between the three of them with just a glance.

He said nothing, merely looking at Alec next to him. He was the one who brought him there, after all.

Alec looked displeased. He roared, "Is it because you don't dare to be examined, Evan?"

"Why wouldn't I know what you're doing, Alec?" Evan met his gaze with no remorse at all.

Alec was incensed. "What would I be doing? What could I be doing?"

"First, you moved next door. And now you're pretending to care about me by hiring a doctor. Who knows if you're trying to kill me?" Evan said coldly. He did not conceal his animosity at all.

"Don't be so petty, Evan!" Alec was so angry he could punch him. But Jenny was there.

Evan glanced at him and then beckoned for Howard to push him into his room.

"You know if I'm being petty or not. I just don't think that you want me to recover.

Hence, I will not receive any treatments from the doctors you bring."

These words would cut off any chances of Alec bringing him any other doctors.

Alec was about to lose control of himself. Jenny held him back, shaking his head. "Take Dr. Gaarder back. I'll talk some sense into Evan."

"Hmph! The question you should be asking, Jenny, is whether or not he's really hurt!" Alec seriously doubted the authenticity of Evan's injuries.

Who wouldn't want to be cured immediately and be freed of a lifetime spent in a wheelchair?

"Don't you dare say that, Alec!" Jenny glared at him. "Who would lie about a thing like this? Your words are making me angry."

It was then that Alec came back to his senses. "I'm sorry. I wasn't slandering him on purpose. I just don't think that his refusal is normal. Even if he doesn't like me and distrusts anyone I bring, he should at least trust you. You know Dr. Gaarder.

Could I bribe him?"

A bigshot like Dr. Gaarder could be paid to treat someone. But he could never, ever be paid to hurt someone.

"I know. His bias toward you runs deep. I'll talk some sense into him." Jenny would not pass up this opportunity. She had to let Dr. Gaarder examine him.

What if there was a way to cure him?

Alec brought Dr. Gaarder away. "I'll leave now. Let me know if he agrees, and I'll bring Dr. Gaarder over."

"Okay." Jenny nodded.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1019-Are You Saying He Could Be Acting?

Alec's expression shifted when he walked out of Evan's villa.

Alec didn't expect Evan to be so unwilling to let Dr. Gaarder check his injuries.

He turned and said to the doctor, "I'm sorry. I'm making you stay in Bardoff City for a few more days."

"It's fine. It's been a while since I've been in the country. I could walk around the city for a bit." Dr. Gaarder didn't mind. He looked at Alec and said, "That gentleman seemed very resistant to my treatment."

"Yes. But it has nothing to do with you. It's a personal strife between us," Alec said.

Dr. Gaarder smiled. He considered Evan's condition based on what he saw and said, "Although I have not performed a check-up on him, I think it's odd. N "Really? What is?" Alec halted his footsteps and looked at him.

"From the records you showed me, Mr. Clarke's injuries should be very serious.

Even if he could sit in a wheelchair, he would not have been as animated as he was today," Dr. Gaarder said.

That instantly made Alec realize that there was more to this situation.

When he told Jenny that Evan was afraid of being examined, he was only venting his anger. But now that Dr. Gaarder said it, Alec began to doubt Evan as well. Could Evan be putting on an act?

He asked, "Are you saying that he's not really seriously injured?"

"I can't make assumptions. It's just a possibility. I must perform a check-up on him before I can conclude anything." What if Evan was the one-in-a- million lucky survivor?

If Dr. Gaarder said it was a possibility, Alec thought it was definite.

Oh, Evan. He was just pretending, after all.

Alec began to suspect that Evan actually orchestrated Jenny's kidnapping. What would his motives be?

Alec thought of Jenny moving in with Evan. If he kept up the wheelchair pretense, Jenny would be by his side forever. That was probably his motive.

If Alec’s speculations turned out to be true, that would mean that Evan was a conniving manipulator.

Alec couldn't let Jenny be fooled. He had to expose Evan's plot.

As he thought this, Evan was in his study. His expression was grim. ’ Investigate Dr. Gaarder. See if he can be bought over.’ He could refuse treatment now, but based on Alec's character, he would not give up so easily. On top of that, Jenny wanted him to be examined, too. Evan couldn't keep refusing forever.

"Alright, sir," Howard said.

"Do you think Alec has already found out?" He had already secured a doctor. It was hard not to be suspicious.

Howard frowned slightly. "Probably not. We've done everything very secretively.

On top of that, we have the doctors from Bardoff Hospital covering us. There shouldn't be a problem at all."

Even so, Evan was worried.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door. Evan went back to normal and said, "Come in."

Jenny walked in and saw Evan and Howard. "Evan, I'd like to talk to you."

"Alright. Please go out," Evan said to Howard.

Howard nodded and left the study. But before he left, he glanced at Jenny.

Jenny went to Evan's side and said, "Evan, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I am. What do you want to talk about? Alec?" Evan asked. He could already guess what Jenny was going to say

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1020-Just Answer The Question Jenny could tell that he was still angry. She was exasperated. "Not him.

Your injuries."

Evan said nothing. She continued, "I know you don't like Alec, but Dr. Gaarder is truly a specialist in his field. He's seriously amazing. I hope you'll let him examine you. Maybe there's a chance for you to recover after all."

"Is Alec that nice? Jenny, you know of the animosity between us. I don't trust him," Evan said.

"He just wants you to recover quickly." Jenny knew Alec's character very well.

He wanted Evan to get better quickly so she would not have to stay by his side forever. She believed that Alec was not harboring any ill intentions. However, talking sense into Evan would prove to be a challenge.

Evan looked at Jenny and asked, "Would you leave me if I never recovered? n "Evan…" Jenny was at a loss for what to say.

"Just answer the question," Evan interrupted.

Jenny shook her head. "Of course not. But I hope you'll receive some treatment and recover quickly."

"Alright. I'll get someone to investigate Dr. Gaarder. If Alec hasn't bribed him, I'll consider your suggestion." Evan no longer said anything about refusing. He just wanted to delay the treatment.

Perhaps it was time for him to make some other preparations.

Now that he wasn't so adamant about refusing treatment, Jenny sighed in relief.

"Alright. You can get someone to investigate him. I believe that someone like Dr.

Gaarder wouldn't be bribed by anyone."

Was that so?

That wasn't good news to Evan.

On Monday, Jenny went to work at the hospital as usual. Her life looked to be normal, but something had already happened to make a huge change in it.

She saw Derrick and McKenna in the canteen. When she remembered what the director had said to her, she looked at them and said, "Thanks for before."

Although McKenna was making a mountain out of a molehill, Jenny didn't mind.

It was these two who insisted on checking the surveillance footage and discovered that she had been kidnapped. They saved her.

They looked awkward when they heard her thanking them. "It's no problem.

We're colleagues. That's how it should be.’ McKenna was the one who said that. She was still a little embarrassed.

"It's not just that. You guys could have ignored it but still chose to check it out.

Thank you," Jenny said.

McKenna was blushing. She remembered slandering Jenny.

After that, Jenny took her food and left. She wasn't planning to keep interacting with them in case any misunderstandings surfaced.

However, McKenna did not share the same sentiment. She got her food and brought Derrick to Jenny. ’Are you alright? The kidnappers didn't do anything to you, did they?"

She was curious to know what those kidnappers were like.

Jenny looked at her suspiciously. She saw through McKenna's nosiness and smiled, saying, 'Tm fine. You guys discovered me in time, so I was rescued."

McKenna was surprised. "Is that so? I feel like we hadn't done much."

"There's no need to doubt yourself. You guys really saved me." Jenny smiled at her from the bottom of her heart.

She didn't say much to Derrick. She knew that McKenna had a jealous streak.
