To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1001-Who’s to Blame Jenny lowered her head and took a while before she finally said, "I'm sorry."

"Sorry?" Alec sneered and wiped the corner of his eye as he said coldly," No need for that. You and I have nothing to do with each other. Now, you can take care of whomever you want. I have no right to interfere."

"He saved me…"

"Yes! He saved you! I damn well wish it was me who saved you at that time! H Even if he had to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, Alec wished he was the one who saved her. He rarely got angry, especially not in front of Jenny, but he couldn't hold back that day.

Jenny had promised to take care of Evan, which basically meant she wouldn't be able to be with him. He was already preparing to confess his feelings to her, but he didn't foresee things would turn out that way.

After a long time, Jenny regained her composure and raised her head. "You need to calm down first. It might not stay this way forever."

They'd already contacted the best doctors. Perhaps, there was another way.

"I can't calm down!’ After he said that, Alec turned and left the ward.

Jenny didn't know that he'd contacted doctors and asked about Evan's condition. He knew that it was almost impossible to cure him. Even if they found the best doctor, the chances of curing him were very slim. Taking care of Evan for the rest of his life was almost a foregone conclusion.

He hated it, but he didn't know who to blame. No one was at fault; the only one Alec could blame was himself. If he had saved Jenny himself at that time.Jf he hadn't let her go to work that morning…

Alec had never been as sad as he was now. Even when he watched his mother die in front of him, he didn't shed a tear. But now, he was really downhearted.

When Vincent got a call from Jenny, he was stunned and froze right where he was.

"Miss Walter, are you saying you want me to check on Mr. Faust? Did something happen?" Vincent didn't understand why she needed him to go and watch over Alec since they were almost always together.

Jenny didn't know how to explain the situation to him. ’We had a disagreement, and he left. Please go and check on him."

After Jenny ended the call, she got up to handle her discharge procedures.

Vincent looked at the phone in his hand, feeling utterly confused.

"Could Mr. Faust really have a disagreement with Miss Walter?" he wondered.

He then answered his question internally, thinking it wasn't likely. From what he knew, Alec would do anything for Jenny. So how could they have a disagreement?

Although puzzled, Vincent put away his phone and prepared to go and find Alec.

At the bar, Paul watched as Alec lifted his glass and drank one glass after another as if he were drinking his sorrows and life away. Paul felt a headache coming on as he watched Alec drink. After he came to Bardoff City for so long, this was the first time Alec had invited him to drink. He didn't expect the situation to be so serious.

"Come on, man. What happened?’ Paul grabbed Alec's glass, not letting him drink anymore. If he kept drinking like that, his body wouldn't be able to withstand it.

Alec leaned back on the sofa and laughed lethargically. "What could happen? I just wanted to drink with you for a bit. Why? Even you don't want to keep me company now?"

Paul was speechless. In no way could he agree with Alec that he was just"

drinking for a bit."

"Does this have something to do with Jenny?" Other than Jenny, he couldn't think of anything else to make Alec drink so much.

Alec didn't say anything, but a hint of pain flashed in his eyes when he heard Paul mention Jenny's name.

"Sure enough, he's like this because of Jenny,’ Paul thought.

He then sighed. "Did you fight with her?"

Alec didn't speak and lifted his glass to down another drink

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1002-Don't Be Fooled by Evan When Vincent rushed to the bar, Paul was desperately trying to stop Alec from drinking. Pushing open the door to the private room, Vincent was a little stunned to see the scene before him.

"Mr. Faust, are you okay?" Vincent asked.

Both of them turned to look at him when they heard his voice. "What could be wrong with me?" Alec replied.

"Miss Walter called me and said you had a disagreement with her. She was worried about you,’ Vincent said.

Alec sneered at his words and finally stopped trying to grab the wine glass from Paul. "Worried about me? Does she think I'll die because of her or something?"

Vincent felt awkward as he thought, "Isn't that what you're doing now?"

Paul sensed something was off and asked Vincent, "What's going on?"

Vincent looked bewildered and shook his head. "I don't know either. Miss Walter suddenly called me."

Paul pondered what was going on and continued asking, "Did something happen?"

He asked Vincent in detail about what had happened in the past two days and found out that Jenny was kidnapped yesterday and was rescued by Evan. He also learned that Evan might need to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.

After learning about what happened, Paul could guess what had transpired. "Did you argue with Jenny because of Evan's injury?"

"Why?" Alec asked. Then, he went on, "It's nothing. It's just that Jenny promised to take care of him for the rest of his life.

Once those words were said, both Paul and Vincent were stunned. They finally knew the reason for his sudden excessive drinking.

"My goodness…Miss Walter is such a benevolent person," Vincent praised from the bottom of his heart.

As soon as he said that, Alec gave him a disdainful look. With that, he quickly added, "But it's too ridiculous! How could she promise to care for him for the rest of his life just because he saved her?"

"I think Evan was using this incident to put Jenny on the spot. In that situation, Jenny had no choice but to agree. She must have wanted to refuse in her heart," Paul analyzed.

Alec thought Paul's analysis made sense. "You're right. Evan isn't a good person."

If it were him, he would never ask Jenny to care for him for the rest of his life.

He would only hope she would find her happiness and stay far away from him.

How could he ask her to stay by his side and spend the rest of her life so miserably?

"Paul's right, Mr. Faust. Don't be fooled by Evan. He's deliberately trying to drive a wedge between you and Miss Walter so that he can come between you both,"

Vincent said.

Alec nodded in agreement. "You're right." As he said that, he stood up." You guys carry on. I'm leaving."

"Where are you going, Mr. Faust?" Vincent asked, feeling worried and wanting to follow him.

Alec turned his head and glanced at him discontentedly as he said, 'Of course, I'm going back to the hospital. I'm not giving them any chances to keep spending time together." He wouldn't let Evan get what he wanted.

"Oh, right. Okay, okay." Vincent nodded in agreement and added, "Be careful on your way."

With that said, Alec left the private room, leaving only Vincent and Paul staring at each other in silence. They didn't have much to talk about.

"Well, Mr. Wagner, I'll be leaving now," Vincent said with a dry smile.

"Sure. Do keep watch over Alec. Who knows what he might do later," Paul suggested.

Although their analysis just now made a lot of sense, there was no changing what had already happened. Jenny still had to stay with Evan to take care of him, and Alec probably wouldn't be able to accept that fact.

"Okay, got it." Vincent nodded and left.

Paul looked at the empty private room and couldn't help but smile bitterly. He was the only one left in the end. Raising his head and downing the glass of wine he held back from Alec, Paul got up and left as well. He had no plans to stay there and drink alone in misery.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1003-No Way!

When Alec returned to the hospital, he found out that Jenny had already completed her discharge procedures; her ward was empty. He went straight to the ward where Evan was located, and as he had expected, Jenny was there.

However, besides Jenny and Evan, Gilbert was there too. He had probably come to visit because he had heard about Evan's situation.

Alec didn't go in and sat on a bench outside the door. He didn't know what he could do at the moment, but he couldn't just sit back and do nothing either. It made him feel a bit frustrated.

Inside the ward, Gilbert looked at Evan with a complicated expression and said, "Don't be too disheartened. There must be another solution."

"Yeah," Evan responded with little emotion.

"Regardless of what happens, you saved Jenny. If you really have to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair, we will take responsibility for it," Gilbert said.

Evan frowned and looked at Gilbert before saying, "Okay, I understand." He didn’t need Gilbert to take responsibility; having Jenny take care of him was enough.

After a few more words of advice, Gilbert exited the ward and saw Alec at the door.

"What are you doing here?" Gilbert asked coldly. He was never friendly whenever he had to talk to Alec.

Alec looked up at him and smiled. "Waiting for Jenny. What else can I do?"

"Why aren't you dealing with the mess within the Fausts instead? Jenny doesn't need you to wait for her," Gilbert said disdainfully. During this time, he hadn't pressured Jenny to get together with Evan anymore, so he'd kind of implicitly accepted Alec to be Jenny's life partner. But he didn't expect Alec to fail to protect Jenny and nearly cause her to get hurt.

Alec didn't mind Gilbert's cold tone as he simply said, "I know she's busy taking care of Evan and doesn't have time to pay attention to me. There's no need for you to remind me."

"Evan was injured because of her. Shouldn’t she take care of him?" Gilbert could see that Alec was greatly dismayed at the situation. However, he felt that Alec didn't have the right to do so since he failed to protect Jenny, so everything that was happening was his own fault.

"Didn't Jenny tell you? Evan asked her not to leave him for the rest of her life.

Wouldn't this mean she had to stay and take care of him for the rest of her life?"

Alec sneered. He really couldn't understand how Evan could ask that of Jenny.

Upon hearing that, Gilbert's expression instantly became grim. ’No way!"

He knew that Evan had a crush on Jenny, but he never expected Evan to ask Jenny to stay and take care of him. Wasn't he taking advantage of the situation by doing that?

Alec had a cold smirk on his face and didn't say anything.

"I'll get to the bottom of this. Jenny is my sister, and I won't let her suffer," Gilbert said coolly. He turned around and walked back into the ward.

Soon, Alec heard the sound of an argument coming from inside. He could hear Jenny and Gilbert arguing. Clearly, she was unhappy about Gilbert questioning Evan for making that request.

Alec just listened and didn't leave or try to go in. He wanted to know if Jenny was willing to stay and take care of Evan or if she was forced to do so.

After a while, Gilbert pulled Jenny out of the ward. Upon noticing Alec at the door, her expression turned grim.

"Did you tell Gilbert about it?" she asked.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1004-Out of Sight, Out of Mind "Yes. Are you blaming me right now?" Alec wanted to laugh, but he couldn't.

It hadn't been long since all of it happened. Was Jenny protecting Evan just because he was injured?

Jenny opened her mouth but ultimately didn't say anything. Instead, she looked at Gilbert and said, "Evan has just woken up. Why are you talking to him like that? What if something happens to him because of how you talked to him-"

"Just because he saved you, he thinks he can make such an unreasonable demand now?" Gilbert regretted bringing Evan back in the first place.

But then, he thought that if Evan hadn't been there, then Jenny would have been the one who got hurt yesterday. That was not the outcome he wanted to see either.

Jenny sighed. "Gilbert, Evan didn't ask anything of me. I volunteered."

"Liar. I heard him make the request." Alec spoke up from the side. If Evan didn't make such a request?

As soon as he finished speaking, Jenny glared at him and said, "Can't you keep your mouth shut?"

Alec pursed his lips and didn't say anything else. He continued to sit there and didn't leave.

"Jenny, I know you're grateful to him and want to repay him, but we can find other ways to do it. Even if I have to support him for the rest of his life, I won't let you sacrifice your happiness." Gilbert tried his best to persuade Jenny.

But Jenny shook her head and said, "Gilbert, I understand what you mean, but Evan ended up like this because of me. Even if we can provide him with a life of material comfort, we can't make him feel better emotionally."

She knew that Evan liked her and understood why he asked her to stay by his side. It was simply to make himself feel better. She knew such a request was unreasonable and could refuse it, but she couldn't bring herself to do so.

"Heh, you still care about his feelings? What a good doctor you are, Dr. Walter,"

Alec mocked her intentionally, thinking that she cared too much.

Jenny rolled her eyes at him and couldn't be bothered to respond.

"Jenny, if he really can't get up from the wheelchair for the rest of his life, you'll have to take care of him for the rest of your life. Then your own life will be ruined!" Gilbert still couldn't accept it.

Jenny gritted her teeth. She hadn't thought about these things at first, but she gradually realized the implications as they discussed the matter. "I know, but if it hadn't been for Evan saving me, I might have died back then."

Although she couldn't pursue her own happiness for the remainder of her life, the fact remained that she was still alive, and she owed that to Evan.

"You're so hopelessly stubborn!" Alec couldn't help but speak up again.

"Alec! Shut your mouth!" Jenny scolded him.

"Why should I listen to you? You're not anyone to me,’ Alec retorted indifferently.

Just the thought of Jenny staying by Evan's side to take care of him for the rest of his life made him inexplicably angry. He was currently restraining himself and doing quite a good job at that.

Jenny had no words to counter him and could only say, "You're right. We have nothing to do with each other in any way. You can say whatever you want, and I can make my own decisions without your interference."

"Jenny!" Alec was angry. He stood up and looked straight at her.

Jenny met his gaze squarely. They were both angry and unwilling to back down.

Seeing that, Gilbert felt exasperated. ’Alright, let's talk about this later. I'll go contact the doctors first."

The best solution was for Evan to recover, and then everyone would be happy.

Alec snorted coldly and didn't continue the conversation with Jenny. He turned and left the hospital. He couldn't bear to watch Jenny take care of Evan and was afraid he might lose control and lash out.

For now, the best option for him was to extricate himself. The old adage rang true-out of sight, out of mind.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1005-Delusional After Alec was some distance away, Gilbert finally spoke up and asked Jenny, 'You should know what it means for you and Evan if you choose to take care of him for the rest of your life, right?' "I know." Jenny nodded and turned her gaze away from Alec's back.

"Maybe we're just not meant to be," she added.

In fact, Jenny was ready to accept Alec's confession and become his girlfriend.

She hadn't expected this turn of events.

Gilbert sighed. He used to be opposed to Jenny getting together with Alec. But now that they really couldn't be together with each other, he felt a little saddened. Perhaps it was because this wasn't what Jenny had chosen voluntarily.

"I still hope you think it over carefully. There are many ways to repay him. It's not necessary to resort to such an extreme arrangement," Gilbert advised. To him, this kind of lifelong commitment was far too much.

Jenny understood what he meant and nodded in agreement. "I know. Gilbert, you should go back to work now. Don't worry about me. I can handle this."

Gilbert wanted to say he didn't have the mood to worry about work right then, but he knew Jenny was also upset and probably didn't know what to do.

"Okay, I'll take my leave now. Take care of yourself." Gilbert didnt say anything else. He thought he should contact a doctor first; maybe there was still hope.

After Gilbert left, Jenny stood at the door for a while. After finally calming down, she turned and walked back into Evan's ward.

He was sitting by the bed and looking at his phone. When he heard the door open, he put his phone away and greeted her, "Jenny, is everything okay? Are you feeling unwell?" Then, he shook his head and smiled wryly. "I just wanted to tell you that I was joking about you taking care of me for the rest of my life. You don't have to take it seriously."

"Don't worry about it, Evan. I know what to do. You just focus on resting and recovering." Jenny smiled. Whether he was joking or not, she'd already made her decision.

Evan looked at her and didn't say anything else. He wasn't surprised by Jenny's response. He knew she had a strong sense of responsibility and would never leave him to his own devices. If it weren't for this, his plan today would never have succeeded.

At Faust Manor, Zeke noticed that Alec reeked of alcohol and furrowed his brow slightly.

"Why did you suddenly decide to come back? I thought you had no intention of returning to the Faust family."

"How is that possible? I'm ready to take over the Faust family," Alec sat on a chair and glanced casually at Zeke, not taking him seriously.

Since he was unhappy, he wanted to make others unhappy by dragging them down with him.

"Take over the Faust family? I'm afraid that's not something you can do now,"

Zeke sneered.

"I have already handed over the Faust family to Yakov. Even if you are capable, you don't have any shares of Faust Group. As long as I refuse to, the Faust family business won’t fall into your hands."

"Is that so? I think you'll personally hand over the Fausts' business to me sooner or later." Alec smiled at the old man, his eyes full of confidence.

Zeke's brow twitched as he felt uneasy. "You're delusional!"

"Yakov is not capable enough, and you know that better than anyone else. The Fausts' current mess cannot be cleaned up by Yakov, and he will even make the situation worse. You should be more aware of this than I am."

Alec didnt mind what Zeke had said. Right now, he was just stating the facts.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1006-Personally Keep an Eye on Things Upon hearing that, Zeke's frown deepened immensely. "He may not be able to resolve everything now, but you should take into account the fact that I'm not dead yet!"

"How can he be so sure that Yakov won't be able to sort out our family's mess with me watching over him? What arrogance!” Zeke fumed inwardly.

"Since you don't believe me, let's wait and see." Alec stood up. He didn't intend to do anything to Zeke right then; he just wanted to vent.

As he reached the door, Alec stopped in his tracks and turned back." You're old now. There are many things that you can't do anymore."

Zeke's face turned ashen instantly, and he stared coldly in the direction Alec left.

Alec quickly disappeared from Faust Manor. He seemed to have come over just to say those words on purpose, and Zeke was baffled about his intentions.

"Go find out what happened." Zeke had experienced many things and lived for many years. He was aware that Alec's behavior was unusual.

The butler nodded worriedly. "Sir, Mr. Yakov…is indeed facing some difficulties."

Yakov was struggling to handle the people within Faust Group. As he had his plate full dealing with internal matters, he hadn't even gotten around to taking care of external affairs yet.

"How worthless! If I'd known this would happen earlier, I would have handed over Faust Group to Xavier."

Previously, Zeke thought Xavier was too ruthless, and he was concerned that Xavier wouldn't leave a way out for the other members of the Faust family if he took over. Now, he realized that the head of the Fausts should be ruthless and relentless. Allowing others a way out would just spell disaster for the person in power later on.

It was a pity he didn't think of it earlier.

"Tomorrow, I will personally go to Faust Group to keep an eye on things. I want to see who dares to act recklessly under my nose!" If he taught Yakov everything, he should be able to learn it all and stand on his own.

Alec, who had already left Faust Manor, was unaware of all this. But even if he knew, he wouldn't care.

The Fausts were walking on a tightrope. If they weren't careful, they would fall off unceremoniously. He wasn't in a hurry. After all, there were plenty of families who wanted to bring down the Fausts. Even if he did nothing, others would still take action.

Being lost in thought, Alec wandered automatically to the entrance of the residential area where he was staying. It was a familiar place, but there were no longer any familiar people there.

The reason why he came to live there was that Jenny lived there too. But now that she was caring for Evan in the hospital, she probably wouldn't be back tonight. To be more accurate, she might not come back again in the future. He didn't want things to develop this way, but it was the most likely thing to happen judging from the current circumstances.

Before he drove into the residential building, he saw someone waving at him.

He lowered his car window and found that it was Blake. Alec found it surprising that she would appear before him again.

Seeing that he'd come to a halt in his car, Blake walked over and said," Alec, get down. We need to talk."

"I don't think there's anything to talk about between us. If my memory serves me right, the Watkins family planned to stab me in the back. You could have been a part of that plan."

When Xavier was killed, two people were caught, and Zeke asked him to interrogate them. However, those two suddenly claimed that he was the mastermind. After an investigation, it was found that the Watkins family had bribed those two men. Hence, Alec deduced that it was likely related to Blake.

"Since we broke up, I have almost no say in the Watkins family. I don't know anything about what you've just mentioned." Blake denied it, knowing that Alec wouldn't be able to find any other evidence besides being aware that it was the Watkins' doing.

Alec shrugged and didn't care. 'I could care less whether you intervened or not.

After all, you still helped them in the end."

Whether Zeke believed it or not, it was eventually found that the Watkins family was responsible, and they bore the blame.

Blake laughed dryly in an awkward manner. "Can I come up and sit with you for a while? I haven't been to your place yet."

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1007-1 Need Your Help Alec was amused by her words and stared at her with a hint of derision." Do you think we're that close?"

"Alec, I know you're upset because of Jenny, but you don't have to take it out on me." Blake was displeased. No matter what, she was still a daughter of an affluent family. Although she didn't have much presence within the family, no one else dared to talk to her so rudely.

Unfortunately for her, Alec never cared about her status or upbringing.

He looked at her impassively, and Blake felt a shiver run down her spine. "I know about Jenny's situation, but I swear it has nothing to do with the Watkins.

They wouldn't want to mess with the Walters."

Even until now, the Fausts were still keeping an eye on the Watkins. If the Watkins dared to offend the Walters at this time, they would be seeking death.

"What do you want from me?" Alec was not in the mood to chat with her and just wanted to send her away.

"I just came to see you. You must be feeling bad about Jenny taking care of Evan for the rest of her life. We were together for some time, and even though we've separated now, we’re still friends. As a friend, I should care about you,’ she justified.

However, Alec's expression became more displeased because of her words. He stared at her glumly with an unamused gaze. ’You seem to be quite informed of the events in the city.’ "The Watkins has some influence in Bardoff City, after all." Blake didn't deny the fact that she was keeping an eye on Jenny because there was nothing to deny concerning that. Not to mention Jenny, who among the Ten Elites in Bardoff City didn't keep an eye on each other? Even Alec was probably keeping an eye on everyone as well.

Alec sneered and started his car. "I don't need your concern. You'd better take care of yourself. If I'm not mistaken, the Watkins should be preparing to hand over the family business to your younger brother. Are you okay with that?"

Blake's expression froze as she bit her lip. ’I’m not okay with it. That's why I want your help.’ "Why do you think I would help you?' Alec said disdainfully, finding Blake quite amusing. He wondered where she got her confidence from.

"Don't you want to know who made a move against Jenny?" Blake smiled. She observed the sudden change in Alec's expression and felt good about it. She sniggered internally that no matter how powerful Alec was, he still had a weakness.

Alec took some time to regulate his emotions and asked, "What do you want me to do?"

"It's simple. I want you to help me take over the Watkins family." She didn't hold any expectations of becoming Alec's girlfriend anymore. Her ultimate goal when she got together with Alec was to take control of her family business. Since that was the case, she should just focus on that.

Unfortunately, when Alec heard her words, he couldn't help but laugh." You're overestimating me. I have nothing now and don't have a chance to intervene in the Fausts’ affairs. How can I have the ability to help you take over the Watkins?"

"I know what you're capable of." She'd been in contact with Alec for some time, so she knew how powerful he was. Therefore, she wasn't worried about whether Alec would be able to deliver.

Alec had a faint smile on his lips but didn't say anything.

Seeing that, Blake became a little anxious. "You should think it over. The person I can contact is the only one capable of finding the mastermind. Are you sure you don't want this lead?"

"What's the point of finding the mastermind? Can it change what has already happened?" Even if they found the one behind all this, Evan wouldn't get better, and Jenny still wouldn't give up taking care of him for the rest of his life.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1008-Blake was speechless hearing Alec's words. She didn't expect Jenny would decide to take care of Evan for the rest of his life. If that was the case, she couldn't do anything about it. "I can't possibly ask Jenny to give up on that idea, can I?” Blake started racking her brain for a solution.

While she was nagging about the impossibility of it all internally, Alec suddenly spoke up.

"If you want me to help you take over the Watkins family, it's not entirely impossible.’ Upon hearing that, Blake's eyes lit up. "Are you agreeing to help me?" she asked.

"I can help you take control over the Watkins on the condition that I can successfully gain control over the Fausts. So, you have to find a way for the Watkins to stir up some trouble, do you know what I mean?"

Blake was stunned for a moment, but she soon understood what Alec was hinting at. The Fausts were already in trouble, and giving them more trouble at this time would double the pressure on Yakov and render him unable to cope with it all.

However, Blake also had her own difficulties. ’I don't have much say in the Watkins."

"This is a problem you have to solve. If you can't solve it, you won't be able to help me, so why should I help you?" After Alec said that, he then drove into his apartment building without paying attention to Blake.

Blake stood there for a long time, watching Alec's car disappear into the distance. She gritted her teeth and made up her mind as she got up and left.

In the following days, Jenny took care of Evan in the hospital, and Alec didn't go to the hospital to torture himself by seeing them together. He was busy investigating the mastermind and contacting the best doctors internationally.

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed, and there were only three days left until the New Year's. Bardoff City was covered in heavy snow, and Alec had to entertain clients until late at night before returning home.

When he arrived at his apartment, he noticed Jenny's door was ajar. Jenny had been staying at the hospital during this time and had hardly returned home, so it was strange to see her door open.

"Jenny?" he called out as he walked toward the door.

No answer came from within the unit. That made Alec instantly alert, and he sobered up a bit. He walked into the living room, which was lit up, but he didn't see anyone. There was a sound coming from the bedroom. Alec frowned, mentally preparing himself for a fight before heading there.

However, when he pushed open the door and saw Jenny, who was completely naked, he was stunned and rooted to the spot.

Then, a loud scream sounded. Following that, a soft pillow hit Alec in the face, and he didn't even try to dodge it.

"Sorry! Your door was open, so I thought someone had broken into your house!"

he explained hurriedly, then quickly averted his gaze. That was obviously unnecessary because he’d already seen what he needed to see.

Jenny was speechless as she hastily got dressed.

She had gone into the bathroom to shower without grabbing her clothes earlier.

Thinking it was her home, she didn't care too much and walked out naked. She never expected Alec to come in right at that time.

After getting dressed, she cleared her throat and asked, "Did I forget to close the door?"

"Yes, you did," Alec replied.

It was probably because she had come back in a hurry that she didn't exert enough strength to close the door properly. She found that she couldn't blame Alec for walking in on her.

"I see."

"Huh?" Alec didn't understand what she meant by that. Was she not angry anymore?

Turning his gaze back to Jenny, he saw she was already dressed, but her hair was still wet, dripping with water.

"Why did you come back?" he asked.

"Evan has been discharged from the hospital," she replied and then took out a hair dryer to dry her hair.

Alec followed her and took the hair dryer from her hand. "Let me help you," he said.

Jenny wanted to refuse, but in the end, she didn't. So, she sat there while Alec dried her hair, and everything seemed great and surprisingly peaceful between them.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1009-You Can Save the Explanation Soon, her hair was blown dry. Alec then asked, "Have you had dinner?"

"Not yet." She'd just come home from the hospital, and all she'd wanted was a shower and good sleep. She hadn't been getting good rest these few days.

"I'll make something for you." Alec got up, wanting to go into the kitchen.

Jenny grabbed him quickly. "There's no need. There aren't a lot of ingredients here. Let's just order takeout."

She could smell the alcohol on Alec. He'd just come home and had to be exhausted. She couldn't bear to let him cook for her.

"That's fine too." Alec did not insist on cooking. He was actually feeling dizzy, but that didn't stop him from cooking for her if needed.

They went back to the living room, and Alec shut her door, saying, "You should be more careful in the future. What if someone else besides me were to walk in?

That would be dangerous."

"Okay." Jenny nodded. She wasn't this careless before. She was probably too exhausted to notice. She was debating with herself whether to let Alec know. His mood would be affected if she told him, but he'd find out sooner or later anyway.

While she was still considering it, Alec noticed something was off with her.

"What's up? Has something happened to Evan?"

"No. He's just like before," she replied.

"You look preoccupied." Alec trusted his instincts. Jenny was acting weird.

She thought about it for a while and said, "I'm going to move to Evan's house tomorrow so that it'll be easier to take care of him."

At once, the air turned cold. Alec's gaze changed as well.

"I'm sorry. I have to…’ "I know. You can save the explanation," Alec interrupted. He smiled a bit." You have the freedom to do whatever you want. I have no right to say anything."

He could perhaps object to it if she were his girlfriend, but she wasn't.

"I'm only going to take care of him. I have no other intentions, Alec," Jenny said, explaining anyway.

Unfortunately, her words failed to comfort Alec at all. "Yeah, you're just going to take care of him. Like, forever." What was the difference between that and marrying Evan outright?

Maybe just the marriage certificate.

Jenny said nothing. She knew that all was lost; Alec was feeling upset now.

"By the way, the doctor I found is coming to Bardoff City tomorrow. You can let him take a look at Evan. Maybe he has hope after all." Alec didn't want to let go of a single opportunity.

"Alright. I'll let him know." Jenny nodded. She wanted Evan to recover as well.

They fell into silence again. It was even more oppressive than before.

The doorbell rang, and Alec went to the door to get the food. He carried it to the living room and opened it, placing it in front of Jenny. "Here, eat something before going to sleep."

"Alright. Let's eat together," she said.

He didn't refuse. No one knew if they would have a chance to eat together like that again. He had to treasure it.

Why was his heart feeling so bad?

They ate in silence. Occasionally, Alec gave her the food on his plate, and she thanked him. Besides that, there were no other sounds. It was so quiet as if no one was around.

He didn't like it at all, but he didn't know what he could say to make things better.

Thus, the silence carried on.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1010-gs had been suppressed for too long. Jenny didn't know what was going through her mind. When Alec prepared to leave, she pulled him back and kissed him on the lips.

She felt that she had gone mad.

But then Alec pushed her away and stared into her eyes. "Do you know what you're doing?"

"I don't. I don't know anything at all." She didn't want to know, either, and she didn't want to think. She was only following her heart.

"You’ll have to remember that you brought this on yourself." Before Jenny could respond, Alec leaned in and kissed her passionately.

How they got to the bedroom and ended up lying on the bed was just a blur in Jenny's head. But when she woke up the next morning, her body ached all over as if a tank had run over her in the night.

She came to her senses and stared at the empty bedroom, their clothes scattered all over the floor. It was then that she understood what had happened last night.

She and Alec…

She held her head, feeling a headache coming.

Nothing had ever happened between them when she was his wife. It was the same when she was his girlfriend. But now that they were nothing to each other, they suddenly had sex, and just before she moved in to stay with Evan, too.

Alec had drunk last night, but she was sober. Jenny wasn't sure why she would agree to it. If she had to think of a reason, it'd be because she didn't want to have any regrets.

If they couldn't be together, at least they'd be able to say that, for one moment, they belonged to each other.

The door was pushed open. Jenny instinctively covered herself with the blanket.

When she saw that it was Alec, she blushed. "Why didn't you knock?"

"Do we still need to knock around each other? I've seen every part of you," he said with a bright smile.

Jenny glared at him and said hotly, "Get out. I want to dress myself."

"Alright. I'll be in the living room waiting to have breakfast with you." Alec smiled, not teasing her any longer.

After he left, Jenny got up and washed up in the bathroom. After dressing herself, she went into the living room.

Alec had apparently gotten up early. There was oatmeal and pancakes on the table. Jenny didn't know how he had the energy to cook so early in the morning.

The pancakes were such a hassle, too.

"Let's eat." Alec waved to her.

Jenny walked over, feeling her emotions swirl around in her chest. "Aren't you tired?"

"I'm fine." He smiled and teased, "You slept very quickly last night." He'd wanted to talk with her after sex, but she had already fallen asleep.

Jenny was speechless. "You're Mr. Faust, after all. Even your energy is incomparable," Jenny mocked.

Alec didn't mind. He placed a pancake on her plate.

As they lapsed into silence, Jenny's phone rang. They looked over and saw that it was from Evan. Their expressions shifted.

"What's up, Evan?" Jenny said. She felt Alec's gaze resting on her, and she was feeling a little anxious.

"I’m outside your apartment building. Where do you live? I'll come and get you."

Evan's voice floated through the speaker.

Alec's expression turned from nasty to worse.
