A bald man strode up. “I’ll be frank, girl-it’s not like we’re making light of you, but no one stoops for second best after seeing the best in action. Don’t you think you should show some chops if you want some of our respect?” Sadie smiled and nodded. “True. You kids may be talentless, but if I remain like an innocent maiden, none of you would be content.”

Suddenly, she was in front of the bald man, punching him and sending him crashing into the other bouncers behind him.

Then, without giving the others a chance to respond, she floored the rest with a punch each.

Seeing that, Meg was clapping and exclaiming, “That’s Mr. Frankton’s apprentice for you! She’s just built differently!”

Then, striding up to the rest, she snorted. “Weren’t you all getting full of yourselves, grumbling about this and that? Do you now understand that there’s always someone better?”

Even as the bouncers struggled to their feet, their attitudes changed drastically as they smiled.

“Yes, Ms. Quill-this is really new to us! It has never occurred to us that there are so many powerful people in this world!”
