Thea was amused. “James, do you really think you’re omnipotent, that you can handle everything by yourself?”
Seeing James fall silent, Thea drew in a deep breath.
“Yes, when facing such a powerful opponent, I really can’t help you. But if I hadn’t appeared in the myriad realms, do you think Waitara Path’s present and future bodies could have been exposed?”
James looked at Thea, his expression angry, though deep down he smiled bitterly.
“Yes, you’re doing this for my sake. You’re afraid something unexpected might happen to me.” Thea spoke word by word. “As my husband, you always think about me, even preparing for the worst. As your wife, I’m deeply moved.”
“But are you the only one you want to protect?” Thea fixed her gaze on him. “Don’t forget—you’re the master of the Haleth Realm now, the hope of all living beings.”
“You know the nature of Waitara Path’s reincarnation. He’ll stop at nothing to find me and the Bright Heavenly Dao. By placing me in the new world, are you planning to use all those beings as cover for me—or worse, sacrifice them to be buried with me?”
