Ch. 961..965: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 961-965

Chapter 961

Anne was nervous when she heard that.

The deceased was Bianca’s mother, while Anne herself was the suspect. Would Bianca go easy on her?

She held Anthony’s arm nervously, and tears rolled down her eyes. “Don’t go, don’t leave me alone here, I am scared…”

Anthony held her tiny hand. “Don’t be scared. I will be right outside, and I will be right back.”

“Don’t go…” Anne shook her head.

“Not only will I not go away, but I must also bring you out of here today,” Anthony said in a deep and heavy tone. Everyone in the interrogation room could hear him. He caressed Anne’s pale face gently. “Just be good. I will be right back.”

The words ‘just be good‘ pierced right through Anne’s heart like a curse.

Her hand on Anthony was taken away; her fingers wanted to get hold of his sleeves, but she found them stiff.

She watched as Anthony left the interrogation room, and then the door of hope was closed, leaving her in the dark.

Would Anthony be back?

Why did he want to see Bianca as soon as he heard that she was back?

Was she so dispensable in his heart?

“I want to see Anne! Where is she? I want to see her…”

Bianca was making a scene. She then saw Anthony walking out and then went to him sadly. “Anthony, my mother is dead. Anne killed her. You must make justice prevail!”

“It was not her.”

“No?” Bianca could come all the way here, which meant she knew what had happened. “There were witnesses, and Anne’s fingerprints were even found on the knife. Anthony, you cannot be so biased just because you married her! I have known you for so many years, and I was once your fiance too. You cannot treat me like this…”

“Stop making a scene here. When they finish the investigation, someone will update you regarding the situation,” Anthony said and wanted to go back into the trial room.

Bianca desperately went all the way over and blocked his path. “Anthony, my mother is dead! Do you not remember how she and dad treated you? No, I cannot believe it. I cannot believe that you would be so ruthless and so heartless toward me. Anthony, now I don’t have a single family left. I only have you…”

Then, she hopped into Anthony’s arm and burst into tears.

Anne was sitting in the trial room waiting for Anthony to be back. Time was ticking, and besides Marco’s superior leaving the room, there was no other noise.

Marco looked at Anne, who was unnerved. He lost his patience.

He had the witnesses and the evidence. He could just take her.

Why was he wasting time?

He wanted to see what was going on outside, so he stood up and left the trial room.

Anne wanted to say something, but she did not.

She was left alone in the trial room.

The room was dimly lit. There was only one light in the entire room. There was a bright spot, but there were also dark spots in the room, and the moving shadows were creepy.

Anne did not dare look anywhere else. She kept her head low and paid attention to what happened outside.

It was so quiet that she could hear her own heartbeat.

Not sure how long it had passed when the door of the trial room finally opened again.

Anne’s body shuddered. She looked up and felt much more grounded when she saw Anthony. “Anthony…”

Anthony walked up to her and sat down next to her. His dark eyes looked right into her heart.

“Can I go now?” Anne asked nervously.

Anthony’s face was grim, and his facial muscles tensed. Anne, you have to stay here for a night. I will bring you back once I am done dealing with something.”

Chapter 962

Anne was shocked and held Anthony’s hands firmly. “I don’t want to stay here, Anthony. You have to believe me. I did not kill her, I did not…”

“I know.”

“Then bring me home. I don’t want to stay here, Anthony

“Just one night, I will arrange for it. Don’t be scared, okay?”

Anne bit her lips, and her eyes were watery as her heart sank into a bottomless pit.

There was a knock on the door again. Marco and his people entered, and they urged, “Ms. Vallois, please follow us.”

“No, I will not… Anthony, I don’t want to…” Anne cried.

“Listen to me. Nothing will happen when you stay here.”

Why did he always ask her to listen to him? So only if she listened, then would he want her?

Anne’s wet lashes were trembling, and she did not say anything more. She stood up and followed Marco out of the room.

When they went out, Bianca saw her outside of the room.

Her gaze was deadly, and she wished Anne to be dead.

Anne’s heart felt as though it was soaked in strong acid, and it was painful.

Why did Anthony treat her this way? Just because Bianca showed up, he changed his mind about bringing her out.

She said she did not kill…

Anne was put into the lockup, and her body jumped when the metal bars clanked shut behind her.

She turned and only saw a police officer standing not far away from the room. She did not even see a shadow that suggested Anthony’s presence.

He probably had gone to console Bianca, who had just lost her mother…

Anne sat down next to the bed. She was so terrified, and then she stood up again.

What should she do? Did she really have to stay here for a night?

It was so quiet, and she only heard some footsteps occasionally. Every time she did, she would immediately dash to the metal bars door, hoping it was Anthony.

However, she was disappointed every time.

She had so many disappointments that eventually, she did not have hopes for it anymore. She sat on the bed, curling herself up.

Only people who did not have a sense of security would have this posture.

Anne lay on her side and looked at the clock on the wall outside the cell.

It was getting late, but she dared not fall asleep and kept her eyes wide open.

It was such a strange and cold place, as though there would be monsters coming to hurt her once she was asleep.

After all, she had gone through immense mental pressure during the day, and the interrogation exhausted her.

Finally, she fell asleep in fear.

When Marco came by, she saw the person curling up asleep in the corner through the bars.

She looked terrified.

She, indeed, did not look like a murderer from the outside.

However, all the evidence pointed to her. Even the glass window panel on the balcony had only her fingerprints.

The neighbors even said that Dorothy fell from the top first, then only they saw Anne coming out of the stairwell.

This was a pretty silly move of a murderer.

Plus, he had understood the sour relationship with Dorothy’s daughter.

The issue seemed to have long been established.

The hospital had also testified that she had lost her memory.

If she had lost her memory, why would there be so much grudge, to the point that she had to kill her?

Obviously, the murderer wanted Dorothy to be dead very badly.

Not only was the knife stabbed right through her heart from the back, but she was even pushed off the balcony from the fifth floor.

Chapter 963

There was no mercy at all.

The residential area was rather secluded. There was no surveillance camera, and they could not find another suspect.

Marco’s years of experience told him that something did not add up. Nothing, in particular, was suspicious, but his gut feeling told him so.

Of course, he could not rely on his gut feelings to resolve the cases, but they had to have concrete evidence.

After all, he would continue to find out other suspicious points. Otherwise, Anne would be the accused as the murderer.

It was already two in the morning when he was back in the office. He did not prepare to go back to sleep.

His superior gave the order to get to the bottom of the case. Otherwise, they would all have to pack their bags and go home!

Marco did not expect that Anthony would back Anne.

This man would cause an economic catastrophe to the country if he just stomped his feet. Honestly, Marco felt stressed.

Then, Bianca came by.

Marco, who was smoking while going through the information on his computer, frowning, saw her and said, “What is up?”

“I left out something when I provided my statement today, so I deliberately came to tell you about it.”

“Have a seat. What is it?”

Bianca sat down and said, “I think Anne is the murderer. Before she lost her memory, she came to my place and wanted to stab me. She was stopped because Anthony appeared. Anthony will never testify because of the kids. However, the nanny was at home that time, and she could be a witness.”

“Okay.” Marco jotted that down.

“Do you believe that she really lost her memory?” Bianca asked.

“Why do you ask?”

“Even if she lost her memory, the doctor said it is temporary. Perhaps she had already regained her memory but kept lying about it?”

Marco thought that there was a possibility for that too. However, he still said, “The lies will be exposed. You do not have to worry about that.”

“Inspector York, you have to convict Anne. She is definitely the murderer!” Bianca said.

“We will continue to investigate. If there is no other suspect, Anne will be convicted.”

Bianca said, “Can I go and see Anne now?”

“What do you have to tell her?”

“Honestly, I am very much traumatized. No matter what, she could not kill my mother. I wanted to hear what she had to explain.”

Marco brought her to the holding cell.

Anne was still asleep.

Bianca saw Anne sleeping in the corner of the bed and thought that it was too easy for her!

She should be hung up and not allowed to sleep the whole night!

She could be asleep now, but what about her mother?

“Anne, someone is here to see you.” Marco knocked on the metal door.

Anne was shocked. She came off the bed and went to the metal door. “Anthony… Is Anthony here? Is he bringing me away?”

Bianca’s eyes were full of contempt. If it was not for the metal door and the police officers around, she would have killed Anne right there and then!

“You killed my mother. How would Anthony come and see you? He will only be disgusted by you,” Bianca said.

“No… It is not me. I did not kill your mother, I did not… Bianca, you have to believe me, I will not kill anyone… Anne shook her head.

“Do you think if you just said no, then it is not you? All the evidence pointed to you. I know you hate me because Anthony loves me. However, you cannot just kill my mother because of this. This will only make him hate you more!” Bianca scolded.

“It is not… I did not…” Anne’s tears rolled down.

Had Anthony hated her already? Did he hate her?

“Where is Anthony? I want to explain to him I did not kill …” “Anne said desperately.

“He dumped you here because he did not want to see you. Don’t you understand?” Bianca asked.

Marco looked at Bianca from the back.

“No, Anthony said he would bring me back tomorrow,‘ Anne said, unnerved.

Chapter 964

“Don’t you be silly, he was only coaxing you. Not only will he not be here to bring you back tomorrow, but he also will not ever again.” Bianca did not mind telling her the harsh truth.

Anne was crushed and took a step back. “No… He will not

“You killed my mother, and this pissed him off. How would he forgive you? Anthony loved me right from the start. He only married you because of the kids. What else can he do if you do not accept the reality?” Bianca said.

Beads of tears rolled down Anne’s eyes. She looked up from her blurred vision, and she could still see Bianca’s condescending face, clearly written with her consequence for being abandoned.

It hurt her deeply.

Bianca turned and looked at Marco and immediately looked gentle. “Inspector York, I have some personal matters to speak to her. Can you please…

“Be quick.” Marco walked out.

Bianca’s menacing eyes turned to the vulnerable Anne. You killed my mother. The evidence is concrete. It will definitely be a death sentence.”

Anne shook her head; she could not die, she could not die

“Of course, if I forgive you, you could be exempted.”

Even if Anne was naive, she knew well enough that Bianca was not easy.

“File for a divorce with Anthony.”

“Div… Divorce…” Anne’s tears rolled down again.

“Then, I will provide my statement, and you would only be sentenced to a few years of jail. You could still come out of it eventually. It would be better than death, don’t you agree?” Bianca coaxed.

Anne was pondering about it.

She definitely did not want to die, but would it just be a few years in prison?

“However… However, I did not kill her.”

“Don’t say something like that anymore. Who would believe you? I tell you, this is a rare opportunity . If you don’t tell Anthony by tomorrow about this, then you could very well wait for your death sentence! I will tell you first now. Anthony listens to everything I say. Only I can save you.”

Anne stood there, feeling anxious and worried.

“I will leave you alone to think about it,” Bianca said and left.

The holding cell was then suffocatingly silent.

Anne took a few steps back fearfully. She laid her back closely on the wall and then squatted down, curling into a ball, as though her fear would be lesser if she maintained this way.

No, Anthony said he would be there for her tomorrow.

She should believe him.

She should just persist through the night.

After that, Anne could not fall back asleep. She looked at the clock on the wall. It felt like an eternity had passed before it was finally morning.

She heard noises from outside and stood up. She finally saw Anthony.

Anthony saw Anne’s frail appearance, and frowned heavily, then shouted, “Open up!”

The police officer opened the metal door. Anthony went in and asked, “You did not sleep last night, did you?”

“I… I was waiting for you. Are you here to take me away?” Anne grabbed Anthony’s arm like a floating log, and her intention to leave was burning.

She did not want to stay here any longer.

Not even one more second.

Anthony’s dark eyes looked down and caressed her tiny face. He said in a low voice, “You can’t leave yet, for now…

“Why? Anthony, I… I did not kill her!” Anne looked at Anthony, who kept quiet. Her tears were almost frozen. ” Do you… not believe me?”

Anthony’s phone buzzed. He took out his phone and saw the caller before walking to the side to answer the phone call.

Anne looked at Anthony’s back silhouette and had a bad feeling about it.

When Anthony hung up, he said, “I have something to attend to, and I need to go now. I will see you later.“

Chapter 965

‘Where are you doing?”

“Dorothy’s funeral,” Anthony said and planted a kiss on Anne’s lips.

When Anne looked up, Anthony was no longer to be found.

The metal door was closed, leaving her alone in the cell again.

Anne sat by the bed, soulless, her helpless tears streaming down.

It was just like what Bianca said, Anthony would not bring her away. He was even eager to attend Dorothy’s funeral.

Even if she did not kill, he did not believe her either.

She was already very obedient. Why did he still treat her this way…

Just because he did not love her?

In the graveyard, Dorothy was buried with Bianca, Anthony, and their other friends were present.

After the funeral, their friends left. Bianca did not want to leave yet as she was still sobbing.

“Mom, please don’t worry. The murderer was already captured, an eye for an eye.”

Anthony’s eyes constricted slightly, and his tone was cold. “Let’s go.”

Bianca turned and left.

As they walked downhill, Bianca said, “Anthony, can I hitch your ride? I don’t want to be alone.”

Anthony was silent. The Rolls Loyce exited the graveyard and drove downhill.

Bianca took out her handkerchief to wipe away her tears. She said, “When I knew that I was not biologically related to my dad, it had not felt like the walls crashing down on me. Now I don’t even have one single family member left

The person that is the closest to me now is only you, Anthony because we were once so intimate.”

…

“My condolences,” Anthony said as he turned the ring on his ring finger.

Bianca noticed his gesture and immediately felt jealous. She said, “I am so disappointed in Anne that she would do something like this! If I knew this would happen, I should have just let her stab me back then. Then she would not have the chance to hurt my mother…”

Then, her tears streamed down again.

“If it was her, she deserved to be convicted.”

“It is certainly her. The witness and the evidence all led to her, and she even had a motive!” Bianca said. She was afraid that Anthony would meddle in Anne’s business.

“Anthony, you are unbiased, aren’t you?”

“Yes.”

Bianca would only be satisfied when she obtained the affirmation.

She wanted to see Anne dead!

The Rolls Loyce sent Bianca back to the mansion where she stayed with Dorothy.

Bianca disembarked the car and saw that Anthony did not intend to get off. She asked, “Don’t you want to come in for a chat? Anthony, please keep me accompanied. I feel so terrible now…”

“I have something to do.”

“Are you going to see Anne?” Bianca asked.

Anthony did not reply but shut his car door.

Bianca’s face sank as she watched his car drive away.

Fret not. As long as Anthony was not biased toward Anne, Anne could not get away with it.

Kill her mother? Who gave her the balls to do so!

The Rolls Loyce drove steadily on the road.

Anthony sat in the backseat, his entire person engulfed in the shadows. His expression could not be seen.

However, the low air pressure within the vehicle suggested that he was suppressing his feelings.

Ivan, who sat in the passenger seat, said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Marwood, we have arranged everything back at the police station. We have everything on watch. Mrs.

Marwood is safe inside. Mr. Marwood can attend to your matters without worry. However, do you think this has anything to do with Ms. Faye? We did not find any suspicion previously about her connection with Lilian. Plus, Dorothy is her own mother. I don’t reckon she is so brutal?”
