Ch. 1481..1485: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1481-1485

Chapter 1481

Anne lowered her gaze as Anthony’s scent overwhelmed her, occupying her mind. Her mind fell into chaos, but she knew that she could not stay, nor could she allow Anthony to think that she would return to him.

Just then, the airport announced that boarding had started and Anne sobered, before shoving Anthony aside. “I’m going.” She walked past him and since there was no need for VIPs to get in line, she went onboard straightaway.

As she passed the security check, she could sense Anthony’s eyes on her, but she refused

to look back.

Anthony did not come aboard and she sat blankly by the window, feeling devastated, yet not knowing why.

She had no future with Anthony and though she thought that they stood a chance before, the thought vanished as soon as she learnt about Lucia.

She could not be certain that Anthony was not following her until the flight took off and she closed her eyes, feeling both relieved and depressed at the same time.

The flight took ten hours and she arrived at night. Anne called Yuri as soon as she landed. Where are you?”

“At home. You came back?”

“Yea. I’ve stayed long enough over there. I need my own life,” Anne said as she caught a taxi, all the while telling herself that she was right for thinking that Anthony had no place in her life, as all they had

between them were the triplets.

“I’m cooking. Come over,” Yuri said.

“I just got into a taxi. It’s an hour’s drive away from your place, so you should start without

me.”

“I’m not that hungry, anyway. You should arrive before I finish the movie I’m watching now.”

“Alright.”

An hour later, Anne arrived at a remote town, a place she found for safety precautions after she was attacked.

As soon as she opened the door, the salivating scent filled her nose and she noticed the food being served on the table.

Yuri was dressed in a black dress with an apron around it. She placed two wine glasses onto the table and said, “Right on time. Go wash your hands.”

“Wow, this smells so good. I’m starving.” Anne set her belongings down to the ground.

“I wanted to give you a change of mood after eating Luton cuisine for so long,” Yuri said.

“You know me well.” Anne washed her hands and sat by the table, while Yuri filled their glasses.

The two raised their glasses and took two satisfying sips.

Anne dug into the steak and Yuri said, “I thought that you were never coming back.”

“Why would you think that? I might be delayed, but I will always come back,” Anne said sincerely, determined to not leave Yuri behind. “Yuri, do you want to come with me?”

Yuri did not seem interested. “Why should I go back? I’ve lived here since I was little and I don’t think I can adjust.”

“But it’s dangerous here. I thought you wanted an ordinary life?”

Yuri remained silent.

Anne placed her hand on top of Yuri’s. “Trust me. I will have everything arranged. I have a mansion over there that belonged to my mom, an apartment my dad bought for me and my aunt-in-law’s house as well. You have plenty of choices when it comes to where to stay. It’s easy, too, if you want to work.”

Yuri wavered slightly, still feeling wary as she had never relied on anyone in her life. The only reason she became an assassin was because it was the only way she could make

ends meet.

Chapter 1482

“Any concerns, Yuri?” Anne asked.

Yuri chuckled and shook her head as she grabbed Anne’s hand. “I just don’t want to cause you any trouble.”

“I am the one who has been causing you trouble. Besides, I don’t consider taking care of you a problem at all,” Anne said sincerely.

It was the truth.

Without Yuri’s help, she would have been dead on the island long ago and she would never have the chance to see her children again, or to learn how devastated her triplets had been during the time she was gone.

“Okay.” Yuri’s heart was filled with hope and warmth and she agreed to follow Anne anywhere.

The sky slowly began to turn dark and unlike cities, darkness fell over the town, providing the best environment for one to hide themselves.

Anne sat on the ground by the fences with a glass of unfinished wine in her hand.

“Is something bothering you?” Yuri came over to sit next to her with a glass of wine in her hand as well.

Anne sobered and forced a smile. “No.”

“You can’t fool me. Did something…happen over there?”

Though Anne had never gone into details about her past, Yuri knew a thing or two and said, “Talk to me. You will feel better.”

“I…had triplets by accident when I was single. After that…I fell for the guy and despite wanting to get close to him, I’m scared of him and feel…anxious around him,” Anne said

sorrowfully.

“Does he love you?”

*…No.” Anne paused and added, “Maybe. I don’t know…”

Yuri stared at her without interrupting.

“He has been taking care of the kids and told me that he wants me to stay by his side, but I

turned him down.”

“Why?”

“Because he…is seeing someone else. A former co-worker. I am disgusted by it.”

“You only feel that way because you care about him,” Yuri said.

Anne wanted to deny it, but was rendered speechless when she asked herself if she truly did not care. If that was the case, why would she escape immediately as soon as she found out that Anthony was seeing Lucia?

She propped her head onto her hand, realizing that she had been overreacting, but she

could not help it.

“I don’t know what happened between you and that man and how you feel, but I want you to be happy and to live without regret,” Yuri said, “there’s no hurry, though. If it’s meant to be yours, it will be. Don’t push yourself too hard.”

“Yeah.” Anne nodded.

Just then, Anne’s phone rang. She realized that she had promised to call Anthony upon arriving, but it could not possibly be a call from Anthony as it was in the middle of the night on his end.

However, considering how obsessive Anthony was, it did not seem impossible.

She grabbed the phone and noticed that it was from a strange number. “Hello?”

“I see that you are back.” It was the voice of a man that had been altered by device.

Though she could not tell who it was, Anne instinctively paled.

“Once a member of Tianya, always a member of Tianya. You can’t escape us unless you die.”

“I won’t die, nor would I go back,” Anne swore.

“That’s not up to you.”

“What do you want?” She asked patiently.

Yuri snatched the phone away from Anne and switched it into a speaker.

Chapter 1483

“If you want to get out alive, you are going to take one last mission,” the man said.

Yuri and Anne shot one another a hopeful look.

“Is it really going to be the last mission?” Yuri asked.

“I said what I said,” the man responded.

“Who are we killing?” Anne asked.

“Anthony Marwood of Luton.”

Anne jolted in shock at the name.

“Alright, send us the details. We will complete the rest,” Yuri said.

“I look forward to it,” the man said before ending the call.

Once she set the phone down, Yuri finally noticed Anne’s lack of response and asked, What’s wrong?”

Anne sobered. “We can’t take that mission.”

“Why not? So long as we do this, we won’t have to hide again. We can live like ordinary people under the sun,” Yuri questioned in confusion.

Anne shook her head. “Anthony Marwood…is the father of my children.”

“What?” Yuri gaped. “What a coincidence.”

Anne felt the same, but realized that it made perfect sense. Tianya targeted some of the most powerful individuals and considering how wealthy Anthony was, someone ought to want him dead. She simply did not expect the mission to fall over her.

She could not possibly kill Anthony and would rather die to do so.

“Let’s cancel the mission. We can always go to Luton. It’s safer there and we can still lead

a normal life.”

Anne shot Yuri a grateful look. “Thank you. Anthony…cannot die. He can’t die…”

She could not imagine a world without Anthony in it and tears welled in her eyes.

“Don’t cry,” Yuri muttered.

Anne calmed herself and said, “If we call the mission off, Tianya will only send someone

else.”

“Which is why we are not going to call it off right now. We will pretend like we are traveling back to kill this guy, when we are actually leaving this place,” Yuri said. The pale look on Anne’s face was enough evidence to show how important the man was to her, likely more

so than her very own life. “Once we get back, we can pay attention to anyone who gets close to him. It will be alright.”

Anne nodded. “I just…didn’t expect someone to target Anthony…I’ve killed like a machine so far and now it’s the turn of someone I care about…Yuri, is this karma’s work?”

“It’s not your fault. We are all innocent. We would have died if we didn’t kill. The person who established Tianya is the one who deserves a taste of karma, not us.”

Anne sniffled and sobbed pathetically.

“Don’t overthink it. Get some sleep and we will get ready tomorrow to travel,” Yuri said.

“Okay.”

Just then, someone knocked on the door and both Anne and Yuri jolted in shock.

Regardless of time, no one should have come knocking and the only ones who might come to visit would be people from Tianya.

The two tensed and Yuri immediately pulled out her gun from under the rug, before signaling Anne to back away, she installed the silencer and moved toward the door, making sure that she pressed her body against the wall as she did.

The door was made of wood and anyone with a possession of a machine gun would easily kill them by shooting at the door.

Yuri stood on the right side of the door while Anne stood behind the couch on the left, both ready to eliminate anyone who dared to come inside.

As the two slowed their breathing…

“Anne, it’s me.”

Chapter 1484

When Yuri heard the voice, she shot Anne a strange look and Anne stood dazedly, seeming more confused than Yuri as she stepped toward the door.

Yuri scowled as facing the door would be dangerous and darted up to pull Anne to the side.

Anne stood by the door and asked, “…Anthony?”

“Yeah.”

Anne eased slightly, but her mind was instantly filled with anger when she pulled the door open.

The man stood within darkness as he stared into Anne’s eyes. He lifted an eyebrow and asked, “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Before Anne could say anything, Yuri showed herself and eyed the ‘intruder’ warily.

“This is Anthony Marwood,” Anne introduced.

Instantly comprehending the situation, Yuri said, “I’ll go for a walk. You two go ahead.” She headed outside and disappeared into the darkness.

Anne understood what had prompted Anthony to appear unannounced and mocked, “Here I thought you are a brand new man. You haven’t changed one bit.”

Anthony went inside and approached her without waiting for an invite, his dark eyes trained on her as though he was trying to stare into her soul. “I’m worried about you.”

Anne’s expression darkened as she went into the living room. “I already told you that I will go back after a while. You shouldn’t have come.”

Anthony wrapped his arms around her from behind before pressing his lips against her ear. “Why not? I won’t be a bother, okay?”

Anne bit her lips with a troubled expression.

She had just received a mission of killing Anthony and thought to herself, ‘Will Tianya find out that Anthony is here? What should I do? If Anthony is here, we won’t have the excuse of traveling back to deal with the mission. If I refuse to do anything now, Tianya will realize that we don’t intend to accomplish the mission at all.”

“What’s on your mind?” Anthony rubbed his lips against her ear.

She tilted her face to the side uncomfortably. “Nothing.”

Anthony narrowed his eyes. “Was that your friend?”

“Yeah.”

“Come with me? I can make arrangements for your friend,” he suggested.

If it was in the past, Anne would not hesitate to agree, but the situation had changed and she wished that Anthony did not come.

Frustrated, she shoved him away. “Just go! The kids are still in Luton and I’m worried for

them.”

“They are all grown up now and don’t need us to worry about them,” he said.

The triplets were sharp enough to travel abroad when they were two, so at the age of four, no one was capable of fooling them anymore; not to mention the fact that their everyday life was well taken care of.

However, this was not Anne’s main concern and all she wanted was an excuse to get Anthony to leave.

“Why do you have to always push my boundaries?” Enraged, she shouted, “I told you that I’m coming alone and you insist on following! Why…why do you have to be this way? Anthony Marwood, I’m begging you, just leave me alone, alright? I regret everything! I shouldn’t have ever returned to Luton in the first place!”

A sharp pain pierced through Anthony’s chest as though someone was ripping his heart apart by hand. He moved closer to caress her cheek despite the pain and asked, “What’s wrong? Did something happen? Talk to me.”

Chapter 1485

Anne wanted to show her rage and contempt for Anthony, hoping that would drive him away or to retort with the same attitude at the very least, but Anthony had exceeded her expectation and remained extremely gentle.

Tears welled in Anne’s eyes, not wanting to show her weakness in front of Anthony, she turned her back at him. “I’m doing fine as long as you stay away from me. I’m begging you, Anthony, go back to Luton, okay?” Anne tried her best to remain a leveled voice.

Anthony tensed and narrowed his eyes at the pain in his chest, before responding in a hoarse voice, “I know I’m doing this wrong, but I’m trying. Don’t worry. I won’t bother you. Get some rest.” He then turned to leave.

The sound of the door closing struck Anne’s heart like lightning, bringing her in tears as she closed her eyes in despair.

She could stop herself from loving Anthony and accept that he was seeing another woman, but she could not let anything happen to him.

In the next instant, she opened her eyes and ran for the door to find Anthony standing by the road all alone.

There was not a soul or a car next to him and it was almost as though he existed alone in the darkness.

“Anthony!” She called out to him.

He jolted and turned around to find Anne standing in front of him in tears. “I will go back with you.”

He stared at her as his breath hitched and wrapped his arms around her waist, before burying his face into the crook of her neck.

Anne felt as though he was trying to blend into one with her, his reluctance to leave and the fact that he was dating Lucia-overwhelmed Anne’s mind, but she decided to look past. everything to prioritize Anthony’s safety for the time being.

“Let’s go now!” She let out a muffled voice with her face pressed against his chest.

Slightly taken by surprise, Anthony let her go and looked into her eyes. “There’s no hurry. Rest for a night before leaving.”

“I don’t need to rest. Besides, I can rest on the plane,” she insisted and took his hand. “Let’s go! Where’s your car?”

He studied the anxious look on her face and tightened his grip on her hand. “Okay.” He took out his phone and commanded, “Come over.”

A black car drove their way from afar and stopped right before them.

The car headed straight for the airport and as Anne watched the town vanish into the darkness, she decided to call Yuri as soon as she arrived at the airport.

Anne had thought that they were taking a normal flight, only to find out that Anthony had reserved the entire plane and they could board right away without having to go through.

security.

Anne excused herself to the bathroom to make a call, but Yuri did not pick up. She bit her lower lip and thought, ‘What’s going on? Why isn’t she picking up? Did she leave in such a hurry that she didn’t take her phone with her?”

After making three consecutive phone calls, Anne gave up with the hope that Yuri would call her back.

Not daring to stay too long in the bathroom, she went out and sat down on the couch. across from Anthony, noticing a glass of milk on the table that Anthony had poured for her.

“It’s warm. You will sleep better later,” he said.

Anne did not refuse and sipped on it, before pursing her lips. “Can we wait? I am going to call Yuri and convince her to come with me.”

“Sure.”

However, half an hour passed and Yuri had yet to return her phone calls.

‘Is Yuri trying to give us space by staying out there for the rest of the night?” Anne thought, her heart sinking into her stomach.

Just then, her phone rang. She had thought that it was from Yuri, but tensed immediately when she saw the number displayed on the screen.
