Ch. 1476..1480: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1476-1480

Chapter 1477

“Look up,” Anthony said hoarsely.

Enticed by his voice, Anne subconsciously lifted her chin and stiffened when she realized she was cooperating.

She did not notice the smirk on Anthony’s face.

It was torture as Anthony brushed her teeth with care, caressing each porcelain tooth. He did not stall, and once he was done, he commanded, “Spit.”

Anne bent down and spat the foam in her mouth out. When she looked up again, she noticed the blush on her face and rinsed her face with cold water.

As soon as she was done, she ignored Anthony and left directly. She pressed her hand against her chest outside the room, feeling like her heart was about to leap out of her chest.

The tension between her and Anthony was increasing. From the cold exchange, she had warned him not to touch her at first, before the two kissed and had even slept in the same bed.

Things were spiraling out of Anne’s control, but not only was she not angry, but she also did not leave Luton right away either.

When Anthony headed down the stairs, Hayden came over and said, “Mrs. Marwood has left without having breakfast.”

Anthony tilted his head to stare at the entrance of the house with a stubborn look on his face.

Instead of returning to her mansion, Anne wandered on the streets aimlessly.

Everyone was heading to work at this time, and she was the only one who strolled across the streets as she tried to keep a leveled head.

She had to admit that Anthony was getting under her skin, and it had nothing to do with the triplets.

Anthony meant hell to her, and even if she had loved him for a time, she had suffered as much. Since she had grown stronger, did it mean that she would not be hurt again if she chose to stay with Anthony and her children?

She should not feel guilty about making such a choice, yet she still hesitated.

“Anne?”

Hearing someone calling her name, Anne sobered and turned to find a familiar-looking woman before her.

Overwhelmed by a strange feeling, Anne asked, “Do… I know you?”

“You don’t recognize me?”

Anne stared at the face hesitantly and seemed to recall the woman’s voice.

“I’m Lucia. We worked in the Aesthetic Clinic together in the past.”

Anne was shocked by the name, as Lucia looked different and had clearly gone through plastic surgeries.

Lucia studied Anne’s face with a half-smile and said, “I didn’t think it would really be you, Anne. I thought I had the wrong person.”

“It’s been a while.” Anne did not ask Lucia about the plastic surgery as it was Lucia’s personal choice.

“When did you come back?” Lucia asked.

Anne was slightly surprised, as she thought everyone knew about what had happened.

The conversation that followed was less pleasant.

“Anthony told me that something happened to you and you will never return… this is such…. a surprise!” Lucia smiled bitterly.

“Anthony?” Anne muttered in disbelief. Not many people were allowed to address Anthony by his first name, yet Lucia had done so with ease.

‘Why? Is there something I’m not aware of?’ Anne thought.

Chapter 1478

“Where have you been?” Lucia asked.

“I was overseas.”

“So nothing happened, and you just left. Are you back with Anthony?” Lucia questioned worriedly.

Anne knew that Lucia was not concerned for her safety and asked, “What are you trying to say?”

“I would be upset if you come back to get back together with Anthony. In your absence for the past two years, I’ve been by Anthony’s side, and many people know me as his woman. I’ve fallen deeply in love with him, so will you accept this, Anne?” Lucia said gloomily.

Though Anne had guessed as much when Lucia addressed Anthony by his first name, she was still shocked to find out that Lucia was seeing Anthony.

“You two are… together?” Anne muttered bitterly, her chest hurting as though her heart had been dropped into a pool of acid.

“Yeah, shortly after you left,” Lucia said. She ignored Anne’s silence and pale face to grab her by the hand. “Anne, you will approve of us, right?”

“That’s between the two of you. You don’t need my approval.”

Overjoyed, Lucia chirped, “That’s great. I was planning to leave if you get back together with Anthony. We have been good friends, and I didn’t want to put you into that kind of situation.”

“If that’s all, I’m going home now,” Anne said.

“Are you staying with Anthony?” Lucia asked hastily.

“No.” Anne turned to leave.

As soon as she turned around, the friendly smile on Lucia’s face faded. She had appeared before Anne on purpose, waiting for a chance to inform Anne about her and Anthony.

She knew that Anne would leave. Lucia had hoped that Anne would understand that once two people went their separate ways, it was impossible for their paths to cross again.

Anne did not know how long she had been walking and only stopped when she reached a

dead-end.

She had not expected Anthony to be with Lucia, a friend of hers in the past.

Naturally, who Anthony saw had nothing to do with her, and even if he was dating her friend, Anne had no part in questioning his decision.

She was in no place to do so as she never meant anything to Anthony, to begin with.

She took out her phone hesitantly and dialed Anthony’s number.

He picked up right away. “Hm? What is it? Are we going to pick up the kids together?”

“No. I told you that I need to head back,” Anne said on purpose, hinting that she no longer belonged to this country and her true home lay elsewhere.

Silence took over them, and Anne could sense the tension on Antony’s end.

She did not want to face him or his emotions and was about to hang up when Anthony said, “When are you leaving?”

“Right now.”

“I will get the ticket for you.”

“It’s fine…”

“Why?” Anthony asked hastily.

Not wanting to get into a meaningless argument, Anne agreed. “Alright, then.”

Anthony tossed his phone onto the desk with a dark expression and sat stiffly

Chapter 1479

Oliver tensed at the sudden change in Anthony’s mood. He had entered the office to report. the progress of the operation and had fallen silent after the phone call.

It did not take Oliver much time to figure out who had called. Since Anthony mentioned the ticket, Oliver assumed that Anne was leaving.

“Get a flight ticket,” Anthony commanded coldly without an expression.

“Of course. I will get to it right away.” Oliver took out his phone and completed the purchase within a minute. “Should I have this sent to Mrs. Marwood?”

“Send it to me.” Anthony picked up his jacket and left the office.

“Yes, sir.” Oliver knew where Anthony was headed without having to ask.

Anne did not know if Anthony was going to send her off and returned to the mansion, only to be stunned by the sight of the black Rolls Loyce parked outside the mansion as soon as she got out of the taxi. When she saw Anthony walking out, her heart sank in bitterness.

She felt completely different after meeting Lucia and was slightly disgusted by the thought that Anthony was seeing Lucia.

Lucia was her friend, and she could not help but wonder if Anthony ever felt strange for dating her friend.

She was absorbed in her thoughts when Anthony arrived before her and stared into her eyes. “What happened? Is something wrong?”

Anne sobered and regained her composure. “Nothing. I just want to leave now. The kids…”

“It’s fine. You can call them after you land to let them know when you will be coming back. It should be fine,” Anthony consoled her.

In truth, he wanted to know what happened for Anne to be in such a sudden hurry to leave. He had thought that after sharing a bed the night before, Anne would stay.

“Are you mad about what happened last night?” Anthony asked.

Not wanting to discuss this, Anne asked, “Do you want to drop me off? Will you leave once we are at the airport?”

“You don’t want me to send you to where you stay?” he said with a dark look in his eyes.

“It’s not necessary. Let’s go. I don’t have much belongings.” Anne did not wish to stay any longer.

“I told the servants to pack for you. They packed some food for you as well.”

On the way to the airport, silence fell over the car, and Anne kept her eyes trained outside the window, refusing any form of interaction.

“Will you call me when you get there?” Anthony focused on Anne the entire time despite being thoroughly ignored.

Anne had never heard Anthony speaking in such a lowly tone when he had always been demeaning. She wanted to refuse but decided not to cause too much tension between

them.

“… Sure.”

“Good.”

Despite what had been agreed, tension continued to rise.

Anne ignored the atmosphere since Anthony did not stop her from leaving.

When she got past the security, she stopped herself from looking back until she arrived at the lounge.

Anthony was nowhere to be found, and she could not put a finger on how she felt; it was a mixture of disappointment, bitterness and misery.

In the end, she could never move forward with Anthony because there were far too many unresolved issues.

She was in a hurry to leave because she needed time to calm down and once she accomplished that, she would always return to her children.

Just as she tried to clear her mind, she heard a familiar voice behind her.

“Anne.”

Chapter 1480

Anne jolted and turned to gape at the man standing behind her. “Are you going, too?”

“I want to see you board the flight.” Anthony studied her face stubbornly.

Anne glanced at the flight ticket in Anthony’s hand darkly, realizing that he had bought at ticket just so that he could enter the lounge.

‘Is this really necessary? I hope he is telling the truth,’ she thought.

Anne sat down and glanced at the time on her phone, relieved that her flight was scheduled to take off within half an hour and she would not have to see Anthony once she boarded.

Anthony sat down next to her. “Do you really hate seeing me that much?”

Anne agreed in her mind but turned to look at the planes outside the glass windows before saying, “You are overthinking.”

“Good, then.” He scanned her side profile. “I will come to pick you up when you come back.”

“Are you not busy?” she said impatiently.

Anthony reached for her hand and rubbed her fingers gently. “Work doesn’t matter much to me anymore.”

She pursed her lips and stared at their joined hands, knowing that if she fought him, he would only tighten his grip..

She did not want to draw unwanted attention and thought to herself, ‘What’s important, then, if not work? Me? You already have Lucia, so why are you acting all lovey-dovey with

me?”

“Anthony, have you seen other women during the time I was gone?” Anne did not know what prompted her to ask such a question.

Perhaps it was simply a warning for Anthony to stop and reflect upon himself so that he would realize putting on an act in front of Anne meant nothing.

Anthony froze, and tension rose between them.

Anne waited, feeling her heart sinking as seconds passed by.

Shortly after, he said, “No.”

The pressure she felt on her chest vanished, but she did not feel pleased and thought, ‘But you have. Why won’t you just admit to it?”

“I’ve been by myself for the past two years.” He stared into her eyes.

Anne turned her face. “Doesn’t look like it.”

Anthony chuckled. “You are the only one who can make me lose control, like right now…”

“Don’t… Umph!” Anne’s words were devoured before they could exit her lips.

She widened her eyes in disbelief.

They were in the lounge, and even if it was the VIP lounge, there were still others.

When Anthony deepened the kiss, she jolted and shoved him away before hurrying to the bathroom. However, before she had the time to calm herself, the door was opened, and her heart raced when she

saw Anthony. “You… This is the ladies’ room!”

“I know.” Anthony locked the door behind him so that no one else would enter.

“What… are you going to do?” Anne panicked as he approached, wondering if he was going to take her right there and then.

Anthony pulled her into his arms. “It’s ten minutes before boarding time. I would need longer than that.”

Reading the hint between his words, Anne felt extremely uncomfortable.

“Just let me hold you for ten minutes.”

Anne stiffened, but her mind drifted as she wondered why Anthony appeared so reluctant to let her go.

“What do I have to do to make you stay?” he asked hoarsely.
