Julian stepped up behind Miranda and wrapped his arms around her.

Miranda let out a long breath. “We made it all the way here, but my son’s still back in Tudela all by himself.”

“Alone?” Julian said softly. “His grandfather and his dad are both there. He’s not alone. Stop worrying so much.”

Miranda turned and punched him lightly in the chest.

“Of course you’re not worried. He’s not your son.”

The moment he heard that, Julian lifted her into his arms.

“Then have one with me.”
