To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 911-Are You Still in Contact with Her?

Sensing her rage, Alec burst out in laughter and handed Jenny a glass of cocktail. 'Try this."

She accepted it and took a sip. Then, she complimented his skills, "It's nice. But the alcohol isn't too strong. It tastes like juice instead."

"Yeah, it's not good to overdrink." He deliberately added only a little alcohol into her cocktail so as to not affect her sleep.

Jenny looked amused but said nothing as she slowly sipped on the drink.

Alec made himself a cocktail and asked, "Has Walter Inc told you about the charity fund?" His staff had visited Walter Inc on the matter, but he was unsure if Jenny was briefed on the progress.

"Yes, they told me about it." She nodded.

"How's the girl's mother doing? She's able to undergo surgery without worries, right?" he asked, but his only goal was to learn more about Jenny. Truth be told, he was not interested in the others.

"Yes. We have scheduled the surgery, and I'll be her surgeon," she added.

He glanced at her and noticed no worried look, which showed that she was confident. He said, "Well, the surgery will go well if you're on the case. You handled Faye Lawrence's tough case excellently, so I believe in your capability."

"Speaking of Faye, are you still in contact with her?" she asked.

He paused before regretting bringing up Faye-he was digging his own grave.

Jenny, however, seemed to read his mind and chuckled. "Don't worry. I don't mean to interrogate you. I was asking about her health."

Although the surgery was a success, there was a chance of relapse. Therefore, she casually asked him about Faye's progress.

He let out a relieved sigh and answered, "I'd contact her once in a while. She's doing fine studying abroad. She finds the environment more suitable for her."

Even though he was totally disappointed with Faye after all her wrongdoings, he had to protect her, considering that Anthony had saved his life. That was the reason he sent Faye abroad.

"Cool." Jenny said nothing more. Although she disliked Faye, she couldn’t be bothered to hold a grudge as long as Faye didn't give her more trouble.

Jenny didn’t stay long at Alec's place. After downing the juice-like cocktail, she excused herself. He didn't object and sent her to the door. After confirming that she had returned to her own place, he closed the door of his unit. However, instead of going to bed, he went to work in his study like a tireless robot. His life consisted of only two things—Jenny and…work.

Back at home, Jenny stared blankly at her unfamiliar bedroom. Soon, she gathered herself and quickly tidied up the place. Then, she went to the bathroom to shower and then lay comfortably on her bed.

She had a good sleep that night, perhaps thanks to Alec's cocktail juice. She usually would struggle to sleep well in an unfamiliar place, so the good sleep came as a surprise. At first, she thought Alec was bluffing when he mentioned how his cocktail would help with sleep, but his words turned out to be true.

The doorbell rang, interrupting her thoughts, and she scrambled to get out of bed without washing up. She was embarrassed to see Alec, all dressed up, at her door.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 912-reakfast on the dining table. "Do you want to wash up first?"

"Alright." She returned to her senses and rushed toward the bathroom.

Alec watched on with a huge grin. He could tell that Jenny had a girly side despite putting up a cold and independent front. However, she'd only show her true side in front of people she trusted.

He believed that his hard work had resulted in progress because Jenny never behaved in that way in front of him before. This proved that she trusted him to some extent. It was good news, but he still had work to do to win her heart.

After washing up and changing out of her pajamas, she joined him in the living room, the blush still lingering on her cheeks from the embarrassment. She casually asked him, "Why are you up this early?"

"It's not too early. It's a habit of mine." He always woke up early in the morning.

Sleeping in was not his habit at all. Jenny woke up at an average time in the morning, but it was late when compared to Alec's.

"Let's have breakfast." He pointed at the food on the table. "You don't have to go to the hospital today because it's Saturday. Right?"

"Yeah. But I need to visit my patient." She could have stayed home, but she developed the habit of doing a morning round at the hospital, especially checking in on the patients scheduled for surgery on Monday. She wanted to keep an eye on them to prevent any complications.

Alec felt bad for her because she was working too hard. "Do you plan to keep working as a doctor?"

"Yes. Isn't it nice?" She liked her stable job. Her hours could be quite long and hectic, but it was comparatively more stable than Alec's.

"Those who inherited a family business would have sat back and enjoyed the wealth. But look at you-those who didn't know might think you're just another doctor." He smiled gently at her. She stuck to a routine and did not practice excessive spending. One wouldn't know that she was rich.

She didn't refute his remark and explained, "If I sit back and enjoy life at a young age, I'd feel useless. There’s no sense of accomplishment from doing so." It would be wrong to say that she wanted nothing out of her job— perhaps, she was after the feeling of accomplishment from treating her patients.

"Yeah, my Jenny is different from the others." He beamed at her.

She rolled her eyes, thinking, "My Jenny'? Don't be delusional."

After breakfast, he sent Jenny to the hospital before starting his busy workday at the Faust Group. Compared to her day, his work life was irregular and extremely hectic. He always hoped that he could settle the issues within the Fausts to make more time for her. Alas, things didn't always go according to his wishes.

Meanwhile, Zeke Faust was at the Faust Manor, looking like he'd aged a lot, perhaps from dealing with all the family strife or grieving Xavier's passing.

"Grandpa, I have found the list of servants and bodyguards from the residence who had contact with the other families," Luke Faust said, astounded by the extent to which their residence staff was bought off by external forces.

Thankfully, none of them made any move. Those who had the guts to do so would have paid with their lives.

Instead of taking the list from Luke, Zeke merely sighed, "Get rid of them all."

"Yes, Grandpa." Luke nodded, thinking that those on the list deserved their fates.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 913-'ll Deal with Him on My Own "Grandpa, did the Watkins really kill Dad?’ Luke was doubtful about the theory.

Even though the Fausts didn't interact much with the Watkins, the two families had no major conflict with each other either. Logically, the Watkins wouldn't have committed the heinous act.

However, he poured over the information that Alec provided him with and ran his investigation. It was confirmed that the Watkins had been in contact with the two assassins, who likely died at the Watkins' hands as well. Despite the solid evidence, he still felt that something was off.

Zeke lifted his gaze but didn't answer. Instead, he asked, "What do you think?"

"All evidence pointed to the Watkins, but I still think it's strange." However, Luke couldn't quite pinpoint the reason for his doubt.

Zeke chuckled softly and looked away as he said coldly, "Of course, it's strange because the Watkins family isn't behind the murder."

"They didn't do it? But the evidence…"

"The evidence merely proved that the Watkins had been in contact with the two assassins. But who could be sure that they were the masterminds?" Zeke explained.

Luke furrowed his brows, looking confused. "If the Watkins weren't behind the murder, why did they get into contact with the assassins? They even asked the assassins to frame Alec, so they were obviously guilty."

"My guess is that the Watkins took the risk and contacted the assassins because they wanted to take advantage of the situation and frame Alec.’ Zeke, experienced with the workings of the real world, harbored a guess too. Indeed, he had accurately explained the plan the Watkins had in mind.

Luke was surprised, followed by confusion. "If the Watkins weren't the mastermind, that would leave Alec as the main suspect. Had the Watkins not gotten involved, we could have investigated Alec. But now…"

"Hmph, that's why I think the Watkin Family is useless." Zeke scoffed at how the Watkins failed to think logically and wondered how that family managed to keep their place as one of the Ten Elites.

In all honesty, the Watkins were not to be blamed. They had no idea Zeke was planning to get rid of Alec. In their eyes, they suspected that Yakov was behind Xavier's death. After all, the two brothers were the main competitors in the race to be the family heir. Everyone understood that it was impossible for Zeke to hand the Fausts to Alec unless he was out of his mind. Still, the Watkins, worried that Zeke wouldn't investigate further into Xavier's death, decided to take the risk and frame Alec. Unfortunately, the move backfired.

"What do we do now? We can't just let it slip, right?' Luke trembled in anger when he was reminded of the fact that Alec had killed his father. As a Faust, he never encountered a grievance as such.

Zeke snickered. ’Let it slip?" He had once considered sparing Alec as long as he behaved, but now…

Despite his past conflicts with Xavier, he was still a father who could not bear to see his son dying in Alec’s hands. It was impossible to let it slip.

"Grandpa, do you want me to hire someone to get rid of Alec?" Luke suggested.

Zeke shook his head and advised his grandson, "You stay out of this. I'll deal with him on my own.’ "Grandpa, this case is not worth getting your hands dirty." Luke was unhappy because he was confident that he could take down Alec.

However, Zeke gave him a look, and he promptly shut up. He knew that, in his grandfather's eyes, he was no match for Alec. He wanted to argue with Zeke, but he kept his mouth shut when he recalled his failed plan from the last time.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 914-Don't Overwork Yourself Jenny was done with the morning rounds. She chatted with the patients scheduled for surgery the following Monday to make sure they were okay before she left the hospital.

Two hours before noon, she stood at the hospital entrance, looking lost. She didn't know where else to go after that. A gust of cold breeze lifted the hem of her skirt. She shivered, and her mind was instantly clearer.

She recalled that Alfred told her about Jade's struggles, and she decided to check in with Jade in case her friend needed help. However, she didn’t find Jade in the office, and according to the assistant, she had gone to a client meeting.

Jenny shook her head in defeat. As the boss, she didn't work as hard as Jade and felt a little guilty. Was she too laid back for a company CEO?

With that in mind, she decided to visit her office. Indeed, Jenny had an office in Jeneration Group. The CEO's office was also located in the best spot on the top floor. The floor only had two offices-hers and the general manager Alfred's.

Alfred had established himself as the de facto leader with all the say in Jeneration Group. Jenny handed over the management work to him with full trust. She understood that Alfred was driven by a sense of accomplishment, not monetary reward.

When she went to her office, she was embarrassed to see a newly installed digital lock on the door. She didn't know the passcode because it was her first time coming to her office.

That was awkward.

She had no choice but to knock on the door of Alfred's office. He responded, and she entered. Alfred was busy working on some files and didn't even look at the visitor. She realized that the serious look on Alfred's face when he was at work bore some resemblance to Alec. Sometimes, she wondered how Mortimer, who was not career-driven, produced two capable and workaholic sons. What a mystery!

"What's up?" He finally looked up when he sensed the silence. He was taken aback to see Jenny there.

"Sorry. Just popping in to ask you about the passcode of my office." She chuckled wryly, feeling a little embarrassed. He purposely laughed at her." Oh, CEO Walter still remembers that she has an office here."

"Stop that. My absence shows that I have full trust in you." She coughed, feeling a little guilty for not being around.

Alfred had nothing to say against her remark because she was right. He’d have quit the company if Jenny had come to the office and micromanaged him.

"The default passcode was set to 123456. Reset it yourself." With that, he went back to work.

She nodded and thanked him before leaving. At the door, she didn't forget to remind him with much care, "Don't overwork yourself! Health is more important…"

He smiled and looked up, only to find her shutting the door and vanishing from his office. Shaking his head, he said nothing more and buried himself in work again.

In the office next door, Jenny walked into her space and noted the difference in the interior decor. The office looked more feminine than Alfred's, but she didn't mind.

She sat in the office and realized she had nothing on her plate. She thought, "I am quite useless as a CEO…

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 915-I'll Get Someone to Look Into It By noon, Jade was not back yet, and that got Jenny worried. Which client was she meeting, and why did she spend the entire morning there?

Feeling anxious, she went to Jade's assistant to ask about the client.

Unfortunately, the assistant had no clue, which only fueled her worries. She called Jade without even thinking if she might interrupt the meeting. To her dismay, Jade didn't pick up.

Jenny had a bad feeling that something had happened to Jade, for she always took her call. She wasn't too concerned at first, but the unanswered call worried her. She rushed to Alfred's office and instructed him to look into Jade’s client. At the same time, she ordered Melissa to pin down Jade's whereabouts. As long as Jade was within Bardoff City, they should be able to trace her down fairly soon.

Even after making the arrangements, she felt perturbed.

Alfred made some calls to get someone to look into Jade's whereabouts. He saw how worried Jenny was and reassured her, "Don't worry. Jade has always been dependable. She wouldn't get herself into trouble. Maybe she didn't pick up because her phone was in silent mode for the meeting."

That was a possibility, but Jenny trusted her instinct more than his words. Even so, there was no use debating about Jade's safety. All they could do was wait for the information they requested.

Thankfully, they received the information very soon. Jenny was informed about the client and the location of the meeting. Without further ado, she immediately prepared to head over.

Alfred stood up. "I'll go with you." He wasn't too worried about Jade; in fact, he was more concerned about Jenny's safety.

Since Jenny was fine with that, they left the office and drove to the cafe where Jade was meeting with the client. Once Alfred parked the car by the entrance, Jenny instantly hopped out and made a beeline for the cafe.

Melissa found the cafe and even provided them with the number of the private lounge room Jade was in. It didn't take long before Jenny found the correct room.

She knocked on the door, but there was no response from within. Feeling impatient, she opened the door, only to find the lounge empty.

"It's empty? They probably left after the meeting. Do you want to call her now?"

Alfred suggested. She followed the advice and called Jade, praying fervently that Jade was safe and that it was all a false alarm.

When they heard Jade's phone ringing in the lounge room, Jenny instinctively knew that her hunch was correct. Something had happened to Jade!

Alfred came to the same realization. When he entered the lounge and found Jade’s phone lying in a corner, his expression turned serious. "I'll get someone to look into it!"

Meanwhile, Jenny went ahead to look for the receptionist. "Where are the customers in Lounge 288?"

"They left," the receptionist answered without meeting her eyes.

She thought the receptionist was acting weirdly and stared intensely at her.

"They left? Where did they go?"

"How could I possibly know?" The receptionist shook her head.

Jenny demanded, "I want to check the surveillance footage of the cafe."

The receptionist shook her head without hesitation. "Who do you think you are?

We can't show you the surveillance footage."

Feeling worried, Jenny did not waste more time squabbling with the staff. She turned around and gave Alfred a look, after which he promptly went up and pinned down the receptionist. Jenny went to the surveillance room and typed furiously on the keyboard to rewind the footage at high speed.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 916-you're doing?! Let me go!’ The receptionist screeched, pinned under Alfred's hold.

Irritated by her voice, Jenny was about to shoot Alfred a look to make him shut the woman up when he instantly shoved a tablecloth into her mouth. Silence settled in the space.

Jenny soon found the footage clip depicting Jade and the client she had come to discuss the business deal with. To her surprise, there was more than one client, the other turning out to be Jade's ex-husband, Hayden Lowe.

Jenny had heard much from Jade about this man, so she could recognize him from the footage. She never imagined he'd have the guts to see Jade.

As the panic in her heart picked up, Jenny continued fast-forwarding the video.

The client soon left the private room, leaving only Jade and Hayden within, which was strange as there wouldn't be much to discuss between the two.

What happened next pretty much hit the core of Jenny's anxiety.

Hayden carried Jade out from the room, who looked very much like she was drunk. Yet Jenny knew Jade would never drink alcohol in front of someone like Hayden.

Hayden then brought Jade upstairs. Not once did he ever reappear again on the first floor. There were no cameras upstairs, so Jenny didn't know which room Jade had been brought to either. She had Alfred pull the receptionist upright.

"Where are they?"

"I don't kn-’ "Think very carefully about what you're about to say. You know that man is committing a felony. Are you sure you want to be convicted as an accomplice?’ Jenny warned, staring coldly at the woman.

It seemed her threat worked. "First f-floor," the receptionist stuttered out."

Second room to the left.’ She hadn't stopped Hayden when she brought that woman upstairs because the man was a regular. She'd even quelled her suspicions when she saw the state the woman was in.

But heck, she wasn't about to become a criminal just to not upset a regular, Jenny instantly rushed upstairs to the room, kicking the door down before Alfred could help her.

Her fists were already up, ready to attack at a moment's notice, though the scene before her threw her off completely.

Jade was curled up in a man's chest, sobbing quietly. She looked over the moment Jenny kicked the door down, gasping out, "What a-are you doing here, Jenny?"

"Are you alright?’ Jenny asked. She relaxed when she saw it was Max that Jade was holding on to.

Jade shook her head. ’He came just in time.’ By "he,’ she meant Max, of course.

Jenny scanned the room for Hayden, but he was nowhere to be found.

"He's with the police now," Max said, still bristling from what happened earlier.

"Good job!" Jenny nodded approvingly.

But Max was still upset. 'You can't keep doing this to Jade, Jenny. Do you know how dangerous it is for her to meet clients on her own?"

If he hadn't followed Jade to her meeting out of concern, who knows what would've happened to her.

"You're right. It's my fault. I'll make sure Jade gets a vacation after this." Jenny didn't argue, either. Thank God for Max, or she'd never recover from the guilt of what might happen to Jade.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 917-Is That All I Get?

Jade hurriedly shook her head. 'This has nothing to do with Jenny. It's my fault, really. I should've been more careful."

She only fell for Hayden's trap because she was desperate to prove to herself that she had surpassed him.

Max said nothing else. He didn't really blame Jenny; he was still upset, was all.

After checking to make sure Jade was really alright, Jenny suddenly felt like the third wheel in the room. Max's prickly expression and persistent weird looks at her affirmed her guess that he had planned to further" console” Jade.

Jenny chuckled dryly and said, "Get some rest then, Jade. You deserve it. I'll mark you down for leave for next week, so you don't need to come to work. I'll handle things with the police too. Don't you worry."

"But I'm fine-" Before Jade could argue, Jenny was already leaving the room with Alfred, shutting the door behind them.

Now it was just her and Max again.

Things seemed normal earlier when Jade was still in need of safety, but now that she'd recovered some, she realized how inappropriate things had been.

She cleared her throat awkwardly. "Thank you."

"What for?"

"Saving me in time. I don't know what would've happened if…"

Max gave her an exhausted look. "Why didn't you leave the moment you saw him?’ If Jade had left at first instance when Hayden showed up, she'd never have been drugged and dragged all the way here. Her lack of self-preservation was really concerning to Max. It even made him wonder if she was still into Hayden.

"I…" The client had clearly wanted her to deal with Hayden. If she'd left, the deal would've failed. That was the reason she hadn't left the first thing.

She just never expected Hayden to do something as lowly as to roofie here. If it weren't for Max coming to her rescue at the very last second…she didn't want to imagine what might happen next.

"No matter. Just.J'm really thankful you saved me in time."

Even after the countless times she'd turned the man down, he was still protecting her however he could. Jade couldn't deny her feelings of gratitude for him.

"Is that all I get?’ Max huffed.

"Huh? What else do you want?" Jade blinked. She didn't know how else to thank him. It's not like he was in need of anything.

Max rolled his eyes. How dense could this woman be?

Before Jade could say anything more, she was cradled into his arms in the next second. "You don't need to act tough in front of me, you know. It's okay if you want to cry."

For some reason, Jade's eyes welled up with tears. It had been so long since someone was so gentle and sincere with her.

Still, she held back her tears, only lying motionlessly in Max's arms.

Meanwhile, Jenny had gone back downstairs with Alfred, walking right up to the receptionist. She knocked on the front desk, jerking the woman back to her senses.

The receptionist quivered just the slightest, asking, "What…what do you want?"

"Come with me to the police station." "What-why?! I told you everything I knew!"

The receptionist shrieked, stepping back, fearing that Jenny might drag her there.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 918-Jenny snorted aloud, finding the receptionist ridiculous. She wasn’t this concerned about the police when helping Hayden attempt to rape Jade earlier.

Did she never imagine herself getting caught one day?

"Don't worry. You just need to make a statement, that's all." Jenny replied.

To Jenny, people like this receptionist, who knew exactly what Hayden had planned to do yet did nothing to stop him, were no more than accessories to the crime.

What was most important was making sure Hayden was punished, though. As long as the woman made her statement honestly, there was nowhere Hayden could run to.

The receptionist heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing she only needed to make a statement. She still asked hesitantly, 'Are you sure that's it?*

"Of course. You didn't actually commit a crime, did you?’ Jenny sneered.

"N-no, of course not’’ The receptionist hurriedly shook her head.

Jenny said nothing else, only leaving the hotel with Alfred behind her. The man wasn't in a hurry to leave. He ended up driving both Jenny and the receptionist to the police station.

The instant Jenny entered the station, loud, annoying screeches grated on her ears. 'No! No way in hell! My husband would never do that! He must've been set up by Jade Weston. He must have! That bitch has had a grudge against my husband for who-knows-how-long, so she'd definitely be up to something like this. Please, you have to help my husband, sir!"

Oh, nearly perfect, Jenny thought. If only Hayden was the victim here, then the woman's cries would be 100% convincing.

The woman overheard Jenny's snort of laughter as she approached them.

"You know just how evil Hayden Lowe is. Do you really think playing the victim on his behalf is going to help his case right now?" Jenny asked.

Though she'd never met the woman, figuring out who she was didn't take much.

After all, who else would be defending Hayden right now save for his mistress?

Maria glanced at Jenny, looking upset. "Who are you to butt in, huh?"

Jenny ignored her, turning to the cop she’d been speaking to. "This is the receptionist from the site of the crime. She can attest to Hayden Lowe's attempted rape crime."

"Really?" The officer looked at the receptionist, who briefly wanted to run away, but still decided to nod.

She was then brought away to make her statement. No way in hell would Hayden escape the law now, Jenny thought.

Maria was left stunned. There was even a witness to the crime?!

Her shock was then colored with anger.

That jackass Hayden still had feelings for fucking Jade Weston!

"I take it you're Hayden Lowe's wife?" Jenny asked.

"Who are you? A friend of Jade's?" Maria asked cautiously.

Jenny neither answered nor denied it. Instead, she said, ’Hayden will likely be imprisoned for this. If I were you, I'd start thinking about how to step out of the situation without bearing losses."

"What do you mean?’ "You're not a shareholder in Hayden's company, are you? Ever wondered what that means for you if he's imprisoned?" Jenny said with a menacing grin.

Maria blinked in surprise, then in fear, suddenly understanding what she was implying.

She'd been living off of Hayden for the past few years, never getting a job or saving much money. If Hayden went to jail, his company would collapse too. At that point, no one would be there to support Maria anymore.

Shit.

"Here's some friendly advice, find a way to get the majority shares from Hayden.

Once you have them, I can buy them out of your hands and handle the company from there. You won't bear any losses, I promise." As for how this woman would get those shares, Jenny didn't give a damn. All she knew was the woman wouldn't just sit by and watch her only pillar of support crumble away.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 919-Did Jenny Send You?

"Really?" Maria asked, still cautious about Jenny's intentions.

"I don't stand to gain from lying to you. You can choose not to believe me, but it's your loss." Jenny shrugged. Her plan was to liquidate Hayden's company, ensuring he never had a chance to rise again once he fulfilled his sentence. Not having Maria sell her those shares would only be a small bump in her journey to destroy the company-she could just employ other ways."

"L.l'll do it!" No way would Maria go down with Hayden Lowe!

Jenny snorted, then gave Maria her number before leaving the station. She needn’t concern herself with what Maria chose to do next.

After leaving and seeing that Alfred was still outside waiting for her, Jenny nodded gently, "Thank you for waiting on me."

"I'm happy to help. Jade is my colleague, after all."

Jenny had Alfred drive her back, then he returned to Jeneration Group to work.

Meanwhile, Yvonne was getting annoyed lying in her ward. Brandon had entirely abandoned her, while things only seemed to be improving for Jenny and not for her. How could she possibly cope with that?

Just then, the door to her ward opened. Assuming it was Brandon, Yvonne cooed, "You're finally here, Mr. Britt~ I knew you still cared about me. I know you're getting married soon.J'm not fit to be your wife, this I know, but I truly do love you. I did some thinking these past few days, and I'd still want to be by your side even though we're not official!"

However, her efforts to move Brandon went to waste when it turned out to be Evan Clarke.

The man slowly walked up to Yvonne, startling her. She tried to hide but to no avail, frightened by his menacing appearance. "W-who are you?"

Before Evan could answer, Yvonne seemed to remember him. "Did Jenny send you? Stay away from me-"

"Hmph. Vain little bitch. Jenny has no time to deal with the likes of you. I'm here on my own behalf." Evan's voice was cold as ice.

Yvonne's scalp prickled; this man wasn't here for any good reason. "What?

Why? I don't know you."

All she recalled was that he somehow knew Jenny, though exactly who he was remained a mystery to her.

"True. We don't know one another, nor do I have a reason to come see you."

Yvonne gulped fearfully.

"But if memory serves me right, you were the one responsible for almost killing Jenny when that damn suicide bomber Randy showed up at her event, yes?"

Evan hissed.

Six feet apart, Yvonne could still feel the hostility wafting off him. She was sure he could feel how terrified she was now too.

"You…what do you want from me?" Yvonne stammered out weakly.

Evan sneered. "Luckily for you, I'm not in the mood to get any more blood on my hands for the time being."

Yvonne began to quiver under her bed covers. The urge to press the call button at her bedside was strong, but her body didn't listen to her one bit." Then…then w-why are you here?"

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 920-Complications "No innocent should be punished, and no one deserving should escape it,*

Ethan said coldly, eyes boring into Yvonne's.

She was truly afraid now. A fearful thought in the back of her mind warned her that the man might actually put her in mortal danger if she didn't tread carefully.

Tears began falling from her eyes. "Please forgive me. I was wrong for saying what I said. I swear I didn't mean it."

"Really?*

"Yes, yes, I swear! I didn't mean to put her in danger. Why would I even want to do that? I don't have anything against her!" Yvonne tried her best to sound convincing.

Sadly, Evan wasn't in the mood to be kind. Plus, Yvonne wasn't even being honest right now, so there really was no need. "Oh? What did I hear about you two feuding in Parrington, then? Are you really sure you didn't purposely put her in danger?"

Yvonne instantly understood the extent of Evan's knowledge now. If he really was there to avenge Jenny on her behalf, there was no way she'd leave without suffering through something.

Her voice grew cold and to the point. *What do you want then?’ "Not your death, I assure you." Evan clicked his tongue. Several bodyguards instantly flooded the room, one with a blade in hand. "I just think we could all do with a little less talking from your end."

Yvonne started quivering again as the guards went up to her. "What-what are you doin-urgh!"

The men forced her jaw open, making her stay still on the hospital bed.

"Careful, don't kill her,* Evan ordered before leaving the ward. He wasn't in the mood for blood and gore at the moment. At the door, he tossed out," Leave her in the countryside once you're done. I don't care where. Just make sure she doesn't show up in the city again.'*

Better to keep people like her out of Jenny's way.

There soon came a blood-curdling scream from the hospital ward. Evan hummed a tune to himself, thinking there'd be one less chattering tongue in Bardoff City from now on.

After leaving the hospital, he called Jenny. "Hey, Jen. You're on leave today, right?"

He wanted to make sure Jenny wasn't aware he'd come here today.

"I heard you moved into a new place. Why haven't I been invited yet~?" Evan teased, though his eyes focused elsewhere, deep in thought.

"Alright. I'll be right there." He hung up the call, then hopped onto his car, driving to Jenny's neighborhood.

Jenny sighed after the call ended. She didn't refuse to invite Evan over even if she'd rejected him because it wouldn't make sense to cut him off to that extent.

She then got up to clean her living room. Then came another phone call, this time from Gilbert.

"I've emailed you everything I found on Janet Hale. Take a look and tell me what you think.’ The moment Jenny heard how solemn Gilbert's tone was, she instantly knew just how serious things were. "Alright."

She instantly opened up her email to read the information sent to her. The more she read through them, the more she realized just how complicated that woman was.
