To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 651-What Do You Think?

Unaffected by her anger, Randy kept smiling and was even secretly glad to have evoked some emotions from her. 'Shall I send you back to the office? ' he asked.

"No/ she turned him down and left immediately. He didn't insist and watched as she left. The relationship between Jenny and Alec left him wondering.

After lunch, Jenny drove to Walter Inc. Although the encounter with Alec ruined her mood, she didn't let it affect her work. She strode to Graham's office, knocked on the door, and entered.

He quickly shut the document he was reading and smiled at her. "Take a seat. I heard from the staff that you've been here since morning. You must be tired."

"I'm not as weak as you thought. I came in early in the morning but did nothing of importance. Tired? I'm far from it." She knew Graham wanted to be a good father to her, but she wasn't accustomed to his doting manner.

He smiled at her comment and joined her on the couch. "Is something up?"

"Yeah.” She nodded and handed him Randy's proposal. ’Take a look at it first."

He took the proposal and poured through it. Soon, he was done reading, but his expression had grown serious. "What do you think?"

"It's abnormal. Something's fishy," she answered coolly.

He nodded in agreement. "I bet there's some issue behind this land. If there's nothing wrong with the land, there's a possibility that the Glasses are trying to trick us."

After years without any business cooperation, it was odd for the Glasses to suddenly seek a partnership with the Walters.

’Yeah. We should get someone to look into it. I'm not saying that we can't work with them, but we need to know what we're getting into. Maybe we can even use their tricks against them." She grinned.

He smiled, thinking that his daughter resembled him a lot. "Sure, I'll get someone to work on it."

After the discussion, Jenny did not plan to stay long and stood up to leave.

"Jenny, you don't have to show up in the office every day if you have other matters to tend to. Everyone knows that you are my successor. This is a cold hard fact. You don't have to care about what they think of you," Graham declared. He would rather Jenny not waste her time on business development and follow him around to learn some lessons in management instead.

She stopped in her tracks and pondered over his suggestion. Then, she took her seat on the couch once again. "Since you brought up the topic, I want to discuss it with you.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 652-That's Enough. Let's Go After leaving Walter Inc, Jenny immediately went to work and investigated the land under the South City Development Project. Even though Graham had promised to look into the matter, she was struck by Randy's bold move to suggest a partnership-he must have been confident that the Walters wouldn't get any dirt on him.

Feeling uneasy, she decided to take matters into her own hands. Only when she examined the details by herself and pinpointed the problems could she devise her counterattack.

Back home, Randy met with Wayne and told him about the conversation with Jenny.

"Dad, do you think she meant her words?" Randy was wary despite Jenny's verbal agreement to consider the deal. In his eyes, Jenny was sly and duplicitous. Her willingness to work with the Glasses invited suspicion as Randy wondered if she was scheming against them.

Wayne pondered the idea for a while and said, "That's hard to tell, but we're alright as long as she doesn't make us her enemy. As for the partnership with the Walters, we'll need to wait until Graham Walter is no longer in charge of the company."

As long as Graham was around, it would be difficult for the two families to form a genuine partnership.

"Does that mean you will spare Jenny Walter?" Randy knew that the mercenary hired by Wayne had arrived in Bardoff City and was ready to go after her at any time.

Wayne seemed to be considering the question too. He answered after a pause, "Well have to see. To be honest, I have more confidence in Jenny than in Jolene. She's difficult to fool, but she is quite capable. Who knows? She might lead the company to greater heights. Well never lose out if we get on her good side."

Randy nodded, thinking that Wayne's explanation was reasonable. "So, Rowena and Jolene…" "Send them home. Since Rowena's married to Graham, we have no right to interfere in their family matters," Wayne decided. Even though he previously claimed to care a lot for his sister and niece, he could easily change his mind for his own self-interest.

Moreover, he wouldn't want to go against Graham at this time. Lately, issues had been cropping up in his company's projects, leading him to suspect that someone was sabotaging the Glasses. He needed to be more cautious than before.

Randy nodded after hearing Wayne's decision. It sounded like Wayne was ready to have Jolene marry Brandon Britt. He left the study and went downstairs. He saw Rowena and Jolene in the living room, and they greeted him.

"Aunt Rowena, Jolene, you can't stay with us forever. Why don't you head home and have a good chat with Uncle Graham? Maybe you'll change his mind," he immediately requested they leave.

The color drained from Rowena's face. "Randy, what is this?"

"Aunt Rowena, I didn't want to do this to you either. But we can't anger Uncle Graham." He pretended to look embarrassed, but the look in his eyes showed he was unconcerned. One could tell that he was faking the embarrassment.

Feeling cold from head to toe from rage, Rowena recalled Graham once told her that she was nothing to the Glasses. At that time, she refused to believe him and even thought he was sowing discord. Now, she finally learned that he was speaking the truth.

It didn't matter that she was a family member. She realized that even her family would abandon her to protect its self-interest.

"Randy, what do you mean? Go home? Doesn't that mean I'll have to marry Brandon Britt? But you promised to help me!" Jolene was agitated and blurted out before Rowena could say a word. She refused to marry Brandon Britt and forever remained inferior to Jenny.

Randy did not even seem sorry for Jolene. Her agitation only irritated him."

Jolene, you must know Uncle Graham well. If I help you out, he'll teach me a lesson." "Randy…"

That's enough," Rowena suddenly interjected with an icy look. "Let's go."

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 653-Have You Thought About the Consequences?

Jolene refused to leave, for she knew what was waiting for her at home.

However, she failed to free herself from Rowena's grip and had no choice but to be hauled home.

On their way home, Jolene cried in the car. "Mom, why did we have to leave?

We should ask Uncle Wayne and Randy for help. They will help us out for sure."

Rowena was frustrated enough, and Jolene's incessant crying pushed her buttons. "Stop crying!"

Jolene was taken aback after being admonished. "Mom, even you're angry at me now?" She sobbed even louder.

Feeling helpless, Rowena pulled Jolene into a hug. "I'm not angry at you. I just think that we need to figure out a solution instead of crying uselessly. Did you seriously think Uncle Wayne and Randy would help us if we begged them to?

You'd be naive to think so. They will not help because they won't get on your dad's bad side just for us. Got it? We are nothing to them." She decided to clear the air with Jolene to wake her daughter up to life's realities.

Jolene wasn't blind to the facts; she refused to accept reality. "Do I really have no option than to subject myself to fate?"

"Jo, marrying Brandon Britt isn't a bad choice." Rowena thought it over and decided to adopt a different mindset.

Jolene's eyes widened in shock. "Mom…"

"Hear me out," Rowena cut her off. "The Walters are more powerful than the Britts. When you marry Brandon, you'll have a say in that family, and they will not bully you. If you are capable enough to hold power in the Britts, you will be the de facto matriarch of that house. Isn't that way better than having nothing as the second daughter of the Walters?' The more Rowena thought through the new plan, the more she believed it was doable. Moreover, the Britts were just a little behind the Walters and might even surpass the Walters one day.

Jolene was quite tempted by her mother's idea. Now, the matriarch of the Britt Family, she'd be interested in that role. Still, she frowned in dissatisfaction. "If I could marry James Windsor, I'd be at a better starting point than marrying Brandon Britt. Isn't that much better?"

"That sounds great on paper, but does James even want to marry you?" After the dinner with James at Walter Castle, Rowena thought the possibility of Jolene marrying into the Windsors was nil. That guy was clearly interested in Jenny and was so close to expressing his disgust at Jolene. Anyway, she didn't want to hurt Jolene by stating the fact since she still cared about her daughter.

The mention of James sent Jolene into another crying fit. Under Rowena's glare, she sobbed quietly. "But I can't let it go. Can we think of another solution?"

"What else can we think of?" Rowena was out of ideas and believed that Jolene's marriage to Brandon wasn't a bad outcome. Most importantly, Brandon appeared to take a liking to Jolene, and their marriage would fare better than hers. "Jo, I know you want to aim higher, but have you thought about the consequences?" In a rare moment of honesty, Rowena laid bare her feelings to Jolene. "I had the same idea as you when I was younger. That's why I used all means to get married to your dad. But look at me. I never became the matriarch of the Walters, and he has never perceived me as a wife."

Rowena went on, "If you insist on marrying James Windsor, you might end up like me in the future. Can you accept that? On the other hand, if you marry Brandon Britt, you can rest assured that you will be held in high regard in that family. From how I see it, he's also interested in you. You'll be happier marrying him."

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 654-Something's Fishy Jolene listened to Rowena’s explanation in heavy silence and secretly disagreed with her mother's arguments. She believed Rowena's failure stemmed from her inability to conquer her dad's heart. Thinking that she was different, she had confidence in her allure. She could make James fall for her once they were married. However, no one knew where she got her confidence from.

"Mom, what did you do to marry Dad?" She suddenly became interested in Rowena's past, thinking she might take a page out of the book.

Rowena looked ashen-faced when she heard that. "Jo! Don't be foolish!"

’Mom, I'm done for if you refuse to help me." Knowing that Rowena would help, Jolene put on a pitiful face.

Indeed, Rowena sighed upon seeing her daughter's expression. "Are you sure you want this?"

'Yes. I'm willing to do anything to marry James Windsor.’ In comparison, James Windsor was better-looking and wealthier than Brandon Britt. She'd be a fool not to marry James.

In the face of Jolene's determination, Rowena knew her advice wouldn't work.

'Okay. I can help you, but there's no guarantee he'd marry you even if the plan worked. What if…"

"No, that won't happen. He will marry me for sure." Jolene believed that there wouldn't be any "what-ifs". Rowena shook her head and said nothing more.

When they arrived at Walter Castle, they entered the living room to find Jenny sitting on the couch. Jenny looked puzzled by their arrival. "Oh, you came home earlier! Why didn't you spend more days with the Glasses?"

"Jenny Walter! Wipe that smugness off your face!" Jolene gritted her teeth spitefully but knew she was powerless in front of Jenny. Despite that, she was not worried, for her Uncle Wayne had hired a mercenary from abroad that would help get rid of this bitch.

'When Jenny's out of the picture, I'd still be the heir of Walter Inc even if I'm married to James," she thought gleefully.

Jenny raised an eyebrow in amusement. Jolene's empty threats never evoked any emotion in her. "Why would I be smug? You, on the other hand, have the right to be smug because you're getting married soon. You must be over the moon."

Jolene's expression soured upon hearing that. Rowena shook her head at her daughter and held her back. Then, she turned to Jenny. "Jenny, I know you never liked Jo, but we're family. Let's not make things awkward."

'Are you threatening me now?" Jenny smirked and looked Rowena in the eye.

Somehow, she had a look that scared Rowena. Jenny was younger than her but exuded an imposing air. She had to admit that Jenny took after Graham.

'You're overthinking. Why would I threaten you?’ The last thing she needed was a fight. At this moment, she needed to focus on the plan to get Jolene married to James Windsor. To do so, she wanted to avoid any arguments that might attract Jenny's unwanted attention.

Jenny didn't press on after Rowena conceded. "Is that so? Great. We're a few days away from the engagement party. My dear sister, you need to start making preparations." Smiling, she purposely provoked Jolene.

Worried that Jenny might anger Jolene more, Rowena dragged Jolene back to the bedroom.

Jenny snickered when they left. How real of the Glasses to kick Rowena and Jolene out after one day! The more she mulled over Randy's proposed partnership, the more wary she grew. The selfish and materialistic Glasses wouldn't share the profits from a project they had bagged-simply impossible.

'Something's fishy!" Jenny thought.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 655-It's My Business On the next day, Jenny drove south to check out the land the Glasses had successfully bid on. Graham had confirmed nothing was wrong with the land from his investigation. There was no issue with the legality of the project, which was located in a strategic location. The project would be lucrative once the land was developed into a business district.

Last night, she looked into the details of that parcel of land and found nothing wrong with it, but she still felt bothered. Why would the Glasses share such a great project with them?

With that question in mind, she arrived at the construction site to see for herself.

Only then she'd feel assured.

Workers were entering the site even when the project hadn't started. It looked like the Glasses were ready to get things started. She wondered if there was truly nothing fishy with the project. Did the Glasses genuinely want to cut a deal with her?

She still couldn't place full trust in them. Since security wasn't tight at the site, she sneaked into the grounds when no one was looking, adamant about finding out what was going on.

She hid in a corner and observed the group of workers seated together. Some of them were on their phones, and some were chatting. No one was working.

Why did the Glasses hire the workers without assigning work?

Full of doubts, she wanted to go closer and eavesdrop on their conversations.

Unfortunately, she accidentally knocked against a piece of wood. The huge noise from the falling wood attracted attention.

"Who's there?" A man, who had been on his phone all the while, stood up and yelled. His eagle eyes were keenly looking in the direction that Jenny was hiding.

Was she caught red-handed? She wanted to go up to the workers and muddle through with some made-up excuse.

Before she could take a step forward, someone pulled her into a dark space that was apparently a storage room. She almost screamed in fear, but she suppressed her emotions and remained quiet when she sensed that the workers were getting closer to her.

Her heart leaped into her throat when the workers moved closer until they were almost at the storage room.

"Johnny, what's the matter?" Someone joined the worker.

"We heard some noise. Someone might've sneaked in," Johnny answered.

"Maybe it's all in your head. It's most likely because of the wind. Who's going to break into this shabby place?" The man came up and tugged at Johnny. "Let's go drinking."

"I'm down." Johnny scanned the surroundings for one last time and saw no one.

The sound from before must have been an illusion.

"I have no idea why Randy asked us to stand guard," he grumbled, puzzled.

"Don't complain. Let's do what he orders."

Their voices trailed off when they left. At that time, Jenny finally turned around to look at the man behind her. The storage room was built with logs with tiny openings in between, through which bits of sunlight streamed in. Squinting under the faint light, she figured out the identity of the man, which came as a shock to her.

"Alec Faust?" Why would he be here?

He glanced at her without a word. Then, he stood up and left the storage room, ready to leave the site altogether. Riddled with questions, she hurried after him.

When they exited the site, she quickened her pace to catch up with him. "What are you doing here?"

The Fausts were unrelated to the South City Development Project. Hence, Alec's presence was suspicious.

He stopped and looked at her. "It's my business."

"If you insist on drawing a line, why did you drag me into the storage room just now? Did you ask for my permission?" She had wanted to talk to the workers, thinking that they might provide her with some useful information.

Alec seemed to have read her mind and snickered, "Can't you tell they're not workers?"

Taken by surprise, she carefully examined the details. Indeed, the site workers seemed very alert and sported bulky figures-they did not look like average workers at all.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 656-How Wicked!

Jenny followed closely behind Alec and questioned, "Who are they, then?" How odd it was to have non-construction workers on a construction site.

'They're probably with the Glasses," he answered candidly, for there was no reason to shun the topic.

She was taken aback but soon had it figured out. Something must be wrong with the land if the Glasses hired men to stand guard at the site.

Jenny turned around to return to the site, anxious to search for answers to her questions. Seeing that, he quickly pulled her back and frowned. "What are you doing?"

"I came here to figure out what's wrong with the land. I can't go home emptyhanded." She didn't want to waste the trip.

Alec was dumbfounded but held onto her hand tightly. "Aren't you afraid of being caught? Are you flirting with danger now?"

"I know my limits." Jenny believed the men were likely bodyguards with mediocre skills serving the Glasses, and she could handle them easily.

Due to memory loss, he couldn't recall her expertise in martial arts and felt irked by her insistence. "You're quite stubborn, aren't you?"

'This is my business. Mr. Faust, you don't have to worry about me." She shrugged off his hand and wondered how he thought he had the right to control her.

He ignored her remark and said coldly, "You don't have to go back. I’ve gotten to the bottom of it."

"What's wrong with the land?" she pressed on, a little taken aback that Alec had found out about the issue. More surprisingly, he seemed willing to share with her. The anticipation in her grew. Perhaps, the reason behind his reappearance was the same as Mortimer's. Maybe he left her out of consideration for her safety. From her understanding of his character, it was something he'd do.

'The answer's underground,’ he said coolly.

Underground? It was a surprising answer. He handed her a handful of sand from his pocket. She took it from him and instantly understood the issue.

"Ah, so this is it." She chuckled, confirming her suspicion of the Glasses' unusual kindness. The land appeared fine on paper, but its soil composition was unsuitable for constructing high buildings. The Glasses probably noticed the problem and decided to pull the Walters into the project as they feigned ignorance. After the agreement was signed, the two families would have to shoulder any losses when problems surfaced.

How wicked!

She gathered herself and looked at Alec. "Why would you be interested in the land?" She wondered if the Glasses also went to the Fausts for help— that'd be a very bold move.

"Any partnership between the Glasses and the Walters will affect the Fausts."

Not wishing to see the two families working together, he had to destroy the partnership. Thankfully, the partnership itself was a ruse on its own that didn't require any action on his part.

After hearing his explanation, more doubts surfaced. Could Alec be lying to her?

He seemed genuinely unwilling to see the two families working together, though.

’It's up to you to trust me or not." Sensing her suspicion, he shot her a glance and prepared to leave.

She chuckled dryly and followed after him. "No, I trust your words. I simply had some reasonable doubts. Anyway, I'll buy you a meal to thank you for the help.’ She stopped him, hoping to have a deeper conversation with him. However, he refused to be involved with her. Every time they ran into each other, he felt uneasy because he would lose control of himself.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 657-None of Your Business "There's no need." Alec refused and was about to walk past Jenny to get in his car.

Jenny didn't give up. She looked at Alec and continued, "Are you afraid of me?"

"Afraid of you?" Alec sneered, "Why would I be afraid of you?"

"If you're not afraid, why can't you dinel with me? Although we're divorced, that doesn’t mean we have to avoid each other like the plague, right?"

Jenny looked at Alec, trying to catch any unusual change of emotion from his stoic face. Unfortunately, he remained very calm and aloof.

"I'm not afraid of you; I'm just not bothered. You need to understand the difference between the two." Alec stared back at her, feeling a little annoyed for no reason.

Jenny pouted and continued, "Then that's all the more reason you shouldn't avoid me. You want to become the heir of the Fausts, don't you? Besides working with the Watkins, shouldn't you also consider collaborating with the Walters?"

Alec frowned. "Can you represent the Walters?"

Nodding in response to his question, Jenny answered, "Of course.

Everyone in Bardoff City knows that I'm the Walters heir."

Alec pondered what she'd said for a moment, seemingly really considering that possibility. Seeing him being so calculative, Jenny felt a little saddened. She didn't expect there would come a day when she would need to propose an exchange of benefits just to have a meal with Alec.

After some time, he finally nodded. "Okay, I'll treat you to a meal."

He didn't want to owe Jenny too much and felt it was better to keep her at arm's length. On the other hand, Jenny didn't care who would pay for the meal. She just wanted an opportunity to have a private conversation with Alec. So, she got into Alec's car, and they headed to the nearest restaurant.

On the way to their destination, Jenny thought of the day she saw Alec and Blake walking side by side. Feeling a little jealous, she asked, "What is your relationship with the lady from the Watkins family?"

"It's none of your business," Alec replied coldly.

Jenny was speechless. She couldn't help but lament, "You're the same as when we first met."

Alec didn't say anything. He learned Jenny was his ex-wife by reading about their information. He'd read up on how they'd been married for two years but never met, and after their divorce, he began to pester her. As for what exactly happened back then, he had no recollection.

He didn't want anyone to discover that he'd lost his memory, so he chose to remain silent.

"I remember you once said you fell in love with me at first sight." Jenny chuckled lightly, unsure if she was mocking herself or Alec.

Alec frowned. He didn’t think he was the kind of person who would say something like that. Seeing how unaffected he was, Jenny couldn't help but feel disappointed.

"Alec, if you're doing this to protect me, it's unnecessary," Jenny said as their car reached the restaurant.

Alec was confused by her words. "What do you mean?"

Jenny looked out the car window and then got out of the vehicle. "Let's talk inside."

If Alec was really trying to protect her, he would be cautious and wouldn't speak the truth where it wasn't safe.

Alec followed Jenny into the restaurant, but he still didn't understand what she meant. Jenny chose a private room, ordered food, and asked the waiter to leave them alone. They were the only ones there.

Jenny spoke up, "You can speak freely here. There's no one else besides us.

You don't have to worry about being recorded as well."

Alec furrowed his brows, evidently not understanding why she would say that.

"I remember the time when your father came back-you deliberately picked a fight with me to ensure my safety, and that led to our breakup," Jenny explained, feeling that she'd made everything clear enough for Alec to comprehend.

It was crystal clear, and Alec understood the meaning behind her words.

Because of that, he couldn't help but laugh.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 658-No Feelings "So, you think I purposely said I didn't like you to protect you?" Alec didn't understand Jenny's train of thought. He couldn't comprehend how she could come up with such an idea.

It was Jenny's turn to frown. She could sense the sarcasm in Alec's words, proving her assumption was way off the mark. She took a deep breath and tried to keep her emotions under control.

'It's not like you haven't done this before."

'That was in the past."

Alec's expression became solemn. He felt ashamed he'd done such a thing before. He couldn't imagine putting in so much effort just to protect a woman.

Then again, he had unresolved mental issues and wasn't in a normal state of mind at that time.

'What's done is done. So be it," he thought. Now that he was cured, he wouldn't do such a thing again.

'So, you no longer have any feelings for me now?" Jenny asked, still hoping for a different answer.

Alec nodded without hesitation. "No, I don't."

'I don't understand. What made you change overnight?" Jenny asked in disbelief.

Was everything before just an act? But why would Alec bother to put on an act at that time?

Alec knew that Jenny might continue to pester him if he didn't dispel her doubts.

He asked, "I had serious mental problems before. Did you know that?"

"Yes. I even recommended a psychologist to you." Jenny nodded, not understanding why he brought that up suddenly.

"She recommended a psychologist to me?" Alec wondered silently; he had no impression of that at all. He further pondered if she was the one who introduced Blake to him. But even if that were the case, it didn't matter to him.

"The thing is—I'm completely fine now. All my previous actions were caused by mental problems, which caused me to be obsessed with you. But now that I'm no longer in that state, I won't follow you around anymore. Do you understand?"

Alec felt he'd laid it all out as clearly as possible.

Jenny was so surprised that she forgot to close her mouth, which had gaped open in shock. It was really too shocking. She'd thought of many reasons, but it never occurred to her that it would be that particular reason.

"Are you sure…that mental problems can have such a big impact?" She still found it hard to believe.

Alec knew what she was thinking and was quick to respond. "If not for this, how do you explain why I don't have any feelings for you now?"

"No feelings at all, huh?" Jenny sighed inwardly.

She smiled bitterly, as she couldn't come up with an explanation either. Maybe Alec was right. She had sensed that something was wrong with him before.

However…

Did he really lose all his feelings for her once he became normal again? It seemed too surreal.

"How did you come to this conclusion?" Jenny wanted to ask more questions.

After all, if she didn't clarify this matter, she would probably feel troubled until she got to the bottom of it.

Alec glanced at her and replied, "A psychotherapist suggested it."

"Is that so?" Jenny thought to herself and didn't know what else to say. Perhaps that was the truth. She sighed and seemed resigned. "Okay. Since that's the case, I won't bother you in the future."

'That won't do." It was Alec who spoke up this time.

Feeling surprised, Jenny turned to look at Alec. He continued, "Didn't you say you would represent the Walters to collaborate with me? Was that just a lie?"

He suddenly emanated a dangerous aura. Jenny had never seen Alec like this before. She had no doubt that he would flip the table if she nodded.

"Of course…not." Jenny forced a dry laugh.

"But then, you just returned to the Fausts. Can you represent them in this situation?" Jenny was doubtful whether Alec had indeed secured the trust of the Fausts in such a short span of time.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 659-My Business "You're not collaborating with the Fausts; you're cooperating with me." Alec felt there was a difference between the two. After all, the Fausts didn't belong to him yet.

Jenny raised her eyebrows in response, unsurprised by his reply. "Do you think you have what it takes to strike up a deal with the Walters?"

In her opinion, Alec wasn't qualified enough to bargain for a collaboration with the Walters.

"You can consider it a kind of investment. After I take over the Fausts, our families will naturally be able to collaborate better."

Upon hearing Jenny's words, Alec wasn't offended. He knew he wasn't qualified to work with the Walter family yet, but by the time he could be on equal footing with them, he might not necessarily want to associate with them either.

Jenny fell silent. Looking at Alec, who was right before her, she wondered where he got his confidence.

"Are you so certain that you'll be the one to take over the Fausts? Have you considered the possibility that no matter how well you do, the family head still won't hand it over to you?"

Jenny and Zeke Faust had only met once, but that one meeting was enough for her to ascertain that the old man was no ordinary person.

'That's my business-"

"This isn't just your business. I want to make sure my investment will generate a return. Nobody would voluntarily get into a failed investment," Jenny interrupted Alec.

He fell silent. After a while, he said, "With the support of the Walters and Watkins, I have a great chance of securing victory."

"The Walters and Watkins are external forces. We can't openly support you. I need to know the reason you're so confident." Deliberately showing support for Alec might put her family at odds with Zeke. Therefore, before she was sure Alec would take over the Fausts, the Walters wouldn't show support for him publicly.

Alec looked at her steadily and said calmly, "My confidence naturally stems from my abilities. If the Fausts want to wear me out, they'll have to see if they can hold me down."

Evidently, Alec knew Zeke was testing his resolve and abilities. Since he dared to go to the Fausts of Bardoff City, he must have something up his sleeve.

'All right. You have our support for the time being."

In fact, even if Alec didn't tell her all that, she would still agree to help him out.

She just wanted to talk to him more and find out what he was planning.

With the support of the Walters secured, Alec's tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed. Soon, the waiter served the dishes, and they ate their meal in a reasonably harmonious atmosphere.

"Last time, when you had dinner with Randy, was it to discuss a collaboration too?" Alec asked casually.

Jenny nodded. "Yes, it was about that piece of land in the southern part of the city. Randy approached Walter Inc all of a sudden. I felt something was off, so I came to check it out today."

'Well, you're very cautious," Alec commented.

Jenny glanced at Alec, finding his behavior strange-it was as if he'd never met her. She'd always been cautious, and Alec should be well aware of this trait of hers.

As they ate, Jenny couldn't help but ask, "The person who chased after you previously was from the Fausts, right? Did you know?"

Alec nodded. It was because he knew that he had decided to return to the Fausts of Bardoff City. Since someone was afraid of his return, he was all the more determined to go back.

"During the time you were missing, did anything happen to you?" Jenny still didn't know what exactly happened to Alec during his disappearance.

Alec raised his head to look at Jenny. While he could tell from Jenny's eyes that she was genuinely concerned about him, he ultimately did not reveal that he'd lost his memory. "Nothing happened. I happened to be saved by someone," he replied.

'That's good," Jenny responded. She then continued to eat without raising any more questions.

To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 660-He Lost Something After the meal, Jenny had no reason to continue pestering Alec, so she smiled at him and said, 'TH be leaving now."

As she walked away, she knew that the next time they met, they would just be acquaintances who happened to also be collaborative partners.

'Okay." Alec nodded, but for some reason, he felt a bit uneasy. He felt like he was losing something.

It didn't take long for Jenny's figure to disappear from Alec's sight, and the feeling of loss became more pronounced. He had a strong urge to go after her.

Unfortunately, Jenny's car was nowhere to be seen, and he had no idea where she went. He didn't understand why he felt that way, especially since everything should have returned to normal.

When his phone rang, and he saw it was a call from Blake, he answered it. ’ Where are you? I need to talk to you about something."

Blake gave him an address, and he drove there right away. He could tell something was off, but he couldn't understand why. Since Blake was a psychologist, he decided to turn to her for help.

Jenny, who had already left, didn't know any of that. When she arrived at Walter Inc, she didn't immediately go inside. She sat in her car, thinking about the things Alec had said. While she understood what he'd told her might be the truth, it was still hard for her to swallow.

She was certainly upset, but she wouldn't lose her mind over the matter. After resting for a moment in her car, she got out and took the elevator to Graham's office, ready to discuss the collaboration with the Glasses.

Now that Jenny had identified the issue of concern, she would focus on it and weave her plan around it. This time, she would teach the Glasses a lesson.

Meanwhile, Rowena was hiding in the corner of a restaurant with Jolene.

"I was informed that James will be here to meet his client today. This is your only chance to see him.” A person like James didn't need to socialize with clients every single day. If it hadn't been because he had an appointment to meet his client that day, they wouldn't have been able to get wind of his whereabouts.

Jolene nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "But how do I…"

She felt a little shy. Even if James were drunk, he wouldn't be completely unconscious. If he saw it was her, he might reject her advances. Since this was her only chance, she needed to make sure everything would go according to plan.

’You don't have to worry about that. I've bribed the waiter attending James' private room to spike his drink. You'll definitely get your chance later." Since Rowena brought Jolene along, she must have had everything prepared in advance.

However, she was still worried for her daughter.

"Jo, have you really thought this through? James doesn't seem like a good guy.

After you get married to him, what if he-"

"Don't worry, Mom. I'm confident in myself. Even if he doesn't like me initially, he'll grow to love me as time passes.’ Jolene wasn't going to give up that easily.

Seeing how determined Jolene was, Rowena didn't say anything further. No matter what, marrying into the Windsors was still better than becoming a part of the Britts.

The mother and daughter waited patiently. Soon, people left the private room one by one, but James was nowhere to be seen. Jolene was anxious.

"Mom, are you sure he's in there?"

"I'm sure of it. He must have passed out by now. Quick, go and take a look.

Don't let anyone else get to him before you do." Rowena gave her a slight push, urging her to go ahead with their plan.

Jolene nodded and went over while blushing furiously. Her heart swelled with joy when she thought that James would be hers in just a moment.
