Ch. 511..520
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 511-1 Relocating Headquarters Jenny was actually very busy. She had decided to place the company headquarters in Bardoff City. That way, she would be able to develop her company better. Hence, yesterday, she asked Jade and Alfred to come to Bardoff City.
They were important people in the company. Jenny would have to discuss it with them beforehand.
As for why she called on Alfred despite knowing of his twisted intentions, it was because she didn’t have much manpower. Alfred’s resume was brilliant.
Besides, he hadn’t done anything overboard. Jenny decided to ignore it for now and keep him at arm’s length.
Jenny picked them up from the airport.
“Miss Walter.” “Jenny.” Alfred and Jade walked toward her, smiles on their faces.
Jenny nodded at them and gestured for them to get in the car. She would first take them to the hotel, then talk about relocating the company’s headquarters.
Jade was full of curiosity. “Are you really the missing daughter of the Walters, Jenny?” “Probably.” Some things were too complicated to explain to Jade, so Jenny had to use that as an excuse.
Alfred looked at Jenny, saying nothing. There was no telling what he was thinking.
Mortimer had told him to get closer to Jenny because he knew of her identity.
Alfred was supposed to make her fall in love with him before she returned to the Walters. That way, he would become the Walters’ son-in-law. With a few manipulative schemes, he might even be able to take hold of the entire Walter family.
But not everything was in his control.
He had not made Jenny fall in love with him, and Jenny had already returned to the Walters. Jenny was completely out of his league now. He had a vague feeling that his plan was not going to work. These few days in Parrington, he had been doing a lot of thinking. He couldn’t really stay in Jenny’s company working for her, could he? He would have no future. In his eyes, Jenny’s company was just a run-of-the-mill. Nothing big would come of it.
But before he thought of an escape plan, Jenny had contacted him, asking him to be in Bardoff City with her and Jade to discuss relocating the company.
Alfred didn’t know what she was thinking. She knew he was Mortimer’s son, yet she hadn’t fired him. Instead, she was using him. It was against all logic.
Not long after, the car arrived at the hotel entrance. They walked in, and after checking Jade and Alfred in, they went to the restaurant. It was time to talk about business.
Jenny ordered some food. “Let’s eat while talking.” “Alright.” Jade nodded. She didn’t have to be polite around Jenny.
“I called you both here to talk about relocating the company.” Jenny had already renamed La Vie Jen Rose Designs to Jeneration Group, which showed how ambitious she was.
Jade nodded as she ate. She already knew beforehand. “Moving here wouldn’t be a problem, but we won’t have a good standing. Someone might sabotage us.” La Vie Jen Rose Designs was just an insignificant company, but now Jenny’s reunion with the Walters had generated some traffic. But that could not change the fact that it was just a small company.
“Don’t worry. I’m the daughter of the Walter family now. No one will dare to openly attack us.” It was because of this that Jenny decided to move now. She wasn’t sure if she could stay in the Walters for long. If she left, it would be harder to relocate.
That was why she had to move now.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 512-Alec Is a Small Fry Jade nodded when she heard Jenny’s words. She thought that they made sense. “That’s true. The Walters are part of the Ten Elites. Those people would be afraid of them. They probably wouldn’t go against you.” “It’s settled then.” Jenny had made her decision. “The only thing you guys have to do in Bardoff City for these few days is to look for an office complex for Jeneration Group.” She could do it herself, but she had to take care of things in the Walter family.
She simply didn’t have the time.
“No problem.” Jade nodded.
Jenny took two agreements out of her bag and placed them on the table. “These are the two companies that are now under my name. Take them and place them under Jeneration Group.” Jade and Alfred each took one of the documents. They were surprised. “You’re certainly ambitious. You want to be part of even these industries.” “Of course. These are money-making businesses. Why wouldn’t I do it?” Jenny smiled. She wasn’t taken seriously yet. She’d have to be one step ahead of everyone else.
They put the agreements away. Jenny looked at Alfred, who hadn’t said a word since he arrived. His thoughts were unreadable.
“Please get me a cup of coffee, Jade,” Jenny said.
Jade was about to tell her to get the waitress, but then she saw Jenny’s gaze on Alfred. She understood immediately and got up. “Alright.” After she left, Jenny smiled at Alfred and asked, “You haven’t said anything since you got down the flight. Penny for your thoughts?” Since she was being direct, Alfred didn’t beat around the bush. “You probably already know of my identity. Why are you still keeping me?” Not only was she keeping him, but she was also involving him in huge company matters as if she wanted him to take responsibility. Alfred couldn’t figure her out.
“Your identity and your capabilities aren’t mutually exclusive. I bear no interest in your identity. As long as you don’t do anything to hurt the company, I couldn’t care less about whose son you are,” Jenny said.
Alfred raised his eyebrows and said, smirking, “I approached you with an ulterior motive. Why do you think I’d slave away for you since you already know who I am?” He wasn’t a fool. Jenny knew of his identity, and she would be on her guard around him. She’d never like him this way.
“Well, are you planning to quit?” Jenny looked at him, not surprised by his words.
It made Alfred a little disappointed. He’d wanted to see some sort of emotion on her face.
“Alfred, with a brother as talented as Alec and Mortimer as your father, you have been upset all these years, haven’t you?” Jenny said calmly, looking at him.
Alfred stiffened. He glared at her. “Upset? Why would I be upset? Alec is a small fry.” “Why would you target me if he was a small fry?” Jenny asked with a smile.
She’d already seen through that part of Alfred’s thoughts.
Alfred said nothing. Growing up, he didn’t know about Mortimer’s true identity.
He thought he was just like the other kids and his parents were like anyone else’s. But then he grew to know of it and learned of Alec’s existence. He couldn’t control himself from investigating everything about Alec, and every time he saw how happy and sought-after Alec was, jealousy burned in his heart.
They were both Fausts. Why did Alec have that life, and why was he just a regular guy?
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 513-You Just Want Me To Be Your Corporate Slave He couldn’t let it go. All these years, he tried to surpass Alec to prove he was nothing less than him. However, he hadn’t succeeded. He was just an illegitimate child. At least Jenny was publicly recognized. Alfred could only hide in the shadows, something the Fausts had to hide.
“Alec isn’t your enemy, Alfred. He didn’t cause what you went through.” Jenny spoke slowly in al calm manner. “If I were you, I’d figure out how to make myself stronger and stop wanting to return to the Faust family. It doesn’t mean that you have to be associated with the Fausts your whole life. just because of your name. With your talents, you could build your own empire.” Jenny felt that if Alfred put his efforts on the right path, he’d be able to forge a future for himself.
Alfred said nothing. She continued, “What your parents did has nothing to do with you. You can choose to steer your own life.” “But why is he the one who gets to have everything?” Alfred was still not letting go. Faust Group probably didn’t mean much in Bardoff City, but they were like royalty in Parrington. Alfred felt that he would never reach that level on his own.
“Everything that Alec has is also due to his own efforts. When Mortimer suddenly left, Faust Group was left without a leader. He had to step up and manage an entire company when he was still young. It’s not as easy as you think.” Although Alec had never told her of this, Jenny could picture Alfred was still indignant. Jenny continued, “All these years, you already got a lot of things that he never had.” “What?” Alfred didn’t understand.
“You had your parents by your side when you grew up. They protected you and kept you company. But what about Alec? Rightfully speaking, he’s the one who should hate you.” Jenny felt sorry for Alec. She couldn’t imagine how he had endured all those years of being an orphan.
Something stirred in Alfred’s heart. A part of him agreed with her. Then, he scoffed. “You just want me to be your corporate slave.” “I’m not denying that.” Jenny smiled. “You have amazing talents. I’d like you to stay and work for me, but you’re not losing out.” “Not losing out? I could leave and join a bigger company right now, and they wouldn’t reject me.” He couldn’t figure out where Jenny had the audacity to say things like this.
Jenny stroked her chin and batted her eyes at him. “Do you remember what you said when I asked you why you wanted to work for me? It was a pretty good answer.” Alfred was stunned. What had he said?
“You said you wouldn’t achieve anything at a big company. Companies like those would treat you like a cog in their giant machine. But at Jeneration Group, you could unleash your potential and turn the company into a large corporation.
You could even make it compete with the Ten Elites. Wouldn’t that be a greater achievement?” Alfred had almost forgotten how to respond when he saw how serious she was being. Then, he smiled in exasperation. “Compete with the Ten Elites? You have some serious balls.
“Of course. I’m confident in my abilities. Aren’t you?” Jenny stared at him with a determined gaze. Alfred returned her gaze, unwavering
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 514-Why Don’t You Consider Me?
Confidence? Alfred had it.
He was always very confident in his abilities. He was just unsure of whether he wanted to work for Jenny.
“As long as you don’t do anything to harm the company, I will not interfere in any of your decisions. This is my sincerity. As for whether you’re willing to accept it, you can think about it slowly.” Jenny didn’t want to keep talking about it.
It’d be futile for her to waste her breath if Alfred still insisted on rivaling Alec.
She’d be better off telling him to fuck off.
“Decisions? You’re letting me make my own decisions? Why do you think I’d be loyal to you?” He honestly couldn’t figure her out. Wasn’t he supposed to be an unpredictable factor for Jenny? If he were her, he would have chased him out at once as long as there was no risk of him sabotaging the company.
But Jenny not only had not chased him away, but she had also even entrusted him with responsibilities. He thought it was weird from every angle.
“Who said you’d be loyal to me? Aren’t you working for your own career as well?
I’m just providing you with an opportunity,” Jenny said, smiling.
Alfred nearly burst out laughing. He looked at Jenny, thinking that she was an interesting person. You’re good with words.” “So, what’s your decision?” Jenny looked nonchalant, but deep down, she did care. If Alfred insisted on leaving, they would have to postpone the relocation.
Jade couldn’t handle it alone, and they wouldn’t be able to find a suitable person in such a short time frame. It wouldn’t be easy recruiting people at the start of the year.
Alfred was quiet for a while. Then, he smiled lightly. “You’ve already put it that way. I’d be wasting such kindness if I were to refuse.” “Well, I hope we cooperate well in the future.” Jenny held her hand out.
Alfred shook her hand. In the instant that they made physical contact, he suddenly said, “Why don’t you consider me? We could turn the company into a family business. What do you think?” Jenny retracted her hand quickly and looked at him like he had a tail. “I think nothing of it.” “I’m serious. We’re both single. And although my family doesn’t compare to the Walters, I believe I’m quite worthy of you, ability-wise.” Alfred didn’t give up. He was honestly a little intrigued by her now. It felt different than before.
Jenny smiled dryly and shook her head. “Sorry. I’m not interested in you that way.” “You really know how to reject someone,” Alfred said. Jenny was not giving him a chance at all. “Is it because you still like Alec?” he asked. He was really curious to know what Alec had.
The question stunned Jenny. Truthfully, she had no idea. She didn’t mind if he was nearby but wouldn’t think about being together with him.
“Oh well. You haven’t even figured it out.” Alfred didn’t plan on pressing the subject. From an outsider’s perspective, Jenny liked Alec But since Jenny was the one involved, she wouldn’t be able to see the wood from the trees. He didn’t reveal it since he’d gained nothing from it. In fact, he wished that Alec would never be happy.
Even though he was successfully persuaded to stay in Jeneration Group, he still hated Alec
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 515-You're so Shameless Jenny left the hotel after finishing her talk with Alfred. She needn't worry about what would come next. What she had to worry about now was how to tackle the party tonight.
Although the party hadn't yet started, Jenny could guess that it would be a battlefield. Rowena and Jolene would never let her go. They'd be causing trouble for her.
But Jenny need not worry. She'd put out the fires one by one. She wasn't really concerned about that duo.
But what she couldn't do tonight was give them their satisfaction. This was her first time showing herself before Bardoff City's elites. She couldn't disappoint anyone.
Her phone rang. It was a stranger's number. She hesitated for a while before picking up. "Who is it?"
"It's me, Jolene." Jolene's voice sounded through the speaker, oozing honey.
Someone else might think it was cute, but Jenny thought it was gross.
But she did not say it out loud. "Why are you calling me?"
"Well, we're going to that party tonight, and I thought that since you're new here, you wouldn't have your own stylist. I was just going to ask if you wanted to come with me." Jolene hated her from the depths of her heart, but she had to call Jenny to act like she was being mature in Graham's eyes.
Jenny said nothing. Jolene continued, "This party is not like the other ones. You have to dress up. We're the daughters of the Walter family. We can't embarrass ourselves."
Jolene didn't think that Jenny had even attended a party like it. Perhaps she hadn't even attended such an important event. Jolene truly looked down on her.
She wished that Jenny would refuse. That way, she would embarrass herself.
"Is that so? Alright. You can ask the driver to come and get me." Jenny didn't hold herself back. Although she could contact her own stylist, Jolene wanted to play nice. How could Jenny let an opportunity like that slip?
Jolene was a little upset when Jenny accepted the offer. "I'll send the address to you. You can come over by yourself."
Did she honestly want the driver to go get her? Did she think she was really a part of the Walters now?
"It's my first time in Bardoff City, Jolene. I'm unfamiliar with the place. Didn't you say that yourself?" Jenny asked. Since Jolene wanted to play nice, she had to be patient. It'd be useless if she couldn't stomach even this tiny thing.
Jolene gnashed her teeth. "You're right. I'll get the driver to fetch you."
"That's great. Thanks, sister." Jenny hung up the phone smiling. She could only guess how angry Jolene was. But she didn't mind. In fact, she thought it was amusing.
Not long after, the Walters' car stopped in front of Jenny. The driver opened the door for her, revealing Jolene in the car.
"You're so shameless, sister. You wanted me to fetch you personally," Jolene sneered. She felt agitated.
Jenny didn't care. She got in and said calmly, "You wanted to take care of me.
How could I refuse?"
"You!" Jolene was angry. Since when had she said that she would take care of Jenny?
"Start the car," Jenny said to the driver. "There's not much time left. Jolene needs a lot of time getting ready."
Jolene thought that she was just spouting nonsense at first, so she didn't argue with her. But after a while, she began suspecting something.
What did Jenny mean by saying that Jolene needed a lot of time getting ready?
Wasn't she just calling her ugly?
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 516- No Wonder Dad Didn't Know if She Was Related She wanted to burst into anger, but the moment had passed. If she exploded now, she would seem stupid. She had no choice but to gnash her teeth and glare at Jenny in hatred.
Indeed, Jenny did not think she was very smart at all. She didn't care even if Jolene glared at her. She scrolled on her phone, ignoring her.
Soon after, the car arrived at the styling salon. It seemed famous in Bardoff City.
When Jenny arrived, a lot of people were already there.
But Jolene was an exclusive VIP in the salon; she had special privileges. They had a private dressing room all to themselves. Shockingly, there were other people in it.
"Why are you only arriving just now, Jolene? We've been waiting for you.’ Someone walked up to Jolene and wrapped their arm around hers affectionately. They were all Jolene's friends. They had come here to stand up for her.
Jolene glared at Jenny, then said innocently, "Oh, you guys know that my sister just arrived in Bardoff City. She's not too familiar with the roads here. My father made me bring her."
"Oh." They all looked at Jenny.
Jenny didn’t wilt under their gazes. She looked right back at them and smiled, nodding as a simple greeting.
They were stunned. She wasn't like the country girl they had imagined. But they didn't care about it. They had to stand up for Jolene. "Oh, so you're Jolene's sister? You don't look similar to each other at all."
"Really? No wonder dad didn't know if she was related to us," Jenny retorted shamelessly. It wasn't her problem if they didn't look alike. It was Jolene's problem.
The girls' faces shifted into ugly expressions, especially Jolene's. She looked at Jenny, upset, and said, "How could you say that, Jenny? I grew up with my father by my side. Who would I be if I weren't related to him?"
"Don't be angry, Jolene. You must understand that your sister grew up in a village. She probably didn't have a good education. She wouldn’t know how to respect people." Someone's comfort for Jolene was definitely a pointed jab toward Jenny.
Jolene smirked and looked at Jenny, hoping to catch her looking uncomfortable.
But what a pity, she saw nothing. Jenny looked as cool as a cucumber.
The others were stunned to see that Jenny was not responding. They were doubtful of her calm demeanor.
"Let's just get ready for the party so we won't be late," someone said.
Jolene nodded. Although upset, she told Jenny, "Jenny, you can pick out a dress from here, and a stylist will help you with the rest."
"Okay,' Jenny responded nonchalantly.
Jolene was utterly speechless. What was Jenny pretending for? She wouldn't even be able to try on these dresses if not for Jolene.
They sat down and began making themselves pretty. A hairstylist came over to help Jenny with her look. She was preparing to curl her hair into ringlets, and Jenny stopped her at once. "Change the curling iron to one of 32 millimeters. I don't like ringlets."
"Please trust our skills, Miss," she said, wishing to still curl her hair into ringlets.
Jenny frowned and grabbed her wrist. "I said, change the curling iron. Do you understand?"
It was a sudden movement. Jolene and the rest had seen it, and their expressions were hideous.
"What are you doing?’ Jolene was furious. Even she dared not anger these stylists. Where did Jenny get her balls from? This was a famous styling salon in Bardoff City. One required more than money to step in here.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 517-Don't Be Too Cheeky Jenny turned and looked over at Jolene. Coldly, she said, "Need I report everything to you?"
"You!" Jolene was angered once more. Jenny was her arch-nemesis!
"The stylists here are all professional, Jolene's sister. You must believe in their tastes. You can do it yourself if you don't trust them," someone said huffily, pointing at the equipment next to them.
Jenny let go of the stylist's hand and sneered. ’Alright. I'll do it myself."
It was just hair. It was easy for her. She'd rather do it herself than rely on these tasteless people.
Jenny walked over to her dressing table, then turned and looked at the person who had spoken. "By the way, please call me by my name in the future. Or, call me Miss Jenny Walter."
Jolene's sister? Didn't she have her own name?
The person turned red but couldn't think of anything to say in response. Jenny was indeed now part of the Walters. In fact, she was older than Jolene. She couldn't afford to anger her.
Seeing that she had gone quiet, Jenny curled her hair in satisfaction.
The dressing room went quiet at once. Jolene's friends were furious, but they couldn't do anything to her. In fact, they had requested the stylists to make Jenny uglier, but now, their plan was obviously not working.
Jenny finished curling her hair and put makeup on herself. Then, she got up to pick out a dress. However, they were all very plain. Anyone could have rented it.
Jenny didn’t like a single one of them.
She turned and saw Jolene and her friends walking out of the fitting rooms.
They were wearing the latest fashions from high-end brands. Their dresses were all much better than the ones Jenny had.
As if feeling her gaze on her skin, Jolene was stunned. Jenny couldn't have seen the difference, could she? She was from a village. How could she tell couture and commercial fashion apart?
"What's wrong? Isn't there anything that you fancy?” Jolene asked pretentiously.
Jenny smiled coldly. She thought that Jolene's tricks were pathetic. "Yeah. Why don't you give me yours? I think it'll fit quite nicely."
Jolene was stunned. She had never seen someone quite as shameless as Jenny.
"I.J'm afraid that can't be done. This was made according to my measurements.
You might not fit in it." Jolene was making up excuses. She was cursing Jenny to Hell in her heart.
Jenny sized her up and nodded in agreement. "You're right. Especially in some areas."
At once, Jolene covered up her chest and glared at Jenny. "You…don't you be cheeky!"
Jenny smirked and turned to leave. She couldn't pick a dress from here. She had to figure out a way on her own. This wasn't a big problem for her at all. It was just a dress-an easy feat.
She took out her phone, preparing to give Jade a call. Jade had her own boutique in Bardoff City, and it was pretty expansive. She probably knew people, but before she could make the call, her phone rang.
It was Alec. Jenny accepted it at once. "What's up?"
"Where are you?" Alec asked.
Jenny told him the salon's name, and then Alec said, "Wait for me at the entrance."
Before Jenny could ask him why, he ended the call. She looked at the phone in confusion. Why would Alec want to look for her?
She had her suspicions but didn't think too much about it. She walked out of the shop and waited for Alec's arrival.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 518-Fuck Off Jolene's friends stared at Jenny in dissatisfaction. "Jolene, your sister is too much. She doesn't like a single dress from those racks. She has high standards."
"That's understandable. She’s never seen the finer things in life. Now that she has, she just can't get enough." Jolene smirked. "This is how poor people act when they suddenly become rich."
"That's exactly it. She's gone from rags to riches." They jeered, looking at Jenny at the entrance. They all looked disdainful.
Jenny ignored them. Not long after, Alec's car stopped in front of her. He came down with a box in his hands. Before she could ask about its contents, he handed it to her. "Try it on."
Jenny opened the box. There was a light blue gown in it. It was so beautiful that her gaze lingered on it. After a while, she came back to her senses." Did you come all this way to deliver this gown to me?"
"It's your first time meeting all these people in Bardoff City. I can't let them look down on you." Although he didn't want anyone else to see how beautiful she was, he knew clearly what was good for her. Love could not be selfish. That was what he learned.
Jenny took the gown, feeling warmth in her heart. It felt good knowing that someone was constantly thinking about her. "Thank you."
"It's what I should be doing.' He hadn't protected her in the past, but he would in the future.
He followed her into the salon. Jolene and the rest saw the handsome Alec.
There were probably no other men as handsome as him in Bardoff City.
Jenny went into the dressing room to put the gown on, and Jolene went toward Alec. "Hello. I'm Jenny's sister. Are you…. What's your relationship with my sister?"
Alec glared at her coldly. "It has nothing to do with you."
He knew that Jenny didn't like her. Hence, he wouldn't like her too.
Jolene felt awkward. She didn't think that Alec would be so standoffish. She was also a daughter of the Walter family. Plus, she wasn't any uglier than Jenny. She suppressed the anger in her heart and continued talking with a smile. "I have no other intentions. I'm just caring about my sister. She's been divorced and hurt before. I don't want her getting hurt again."
Alec's expression turned ugly at once.
Jolene thought that he had no idea about the divorce. She was happy. She didn't believe anyone in Bardoff City would willingly marry a divorced woman.
"Fuck off.' Alec didn't hold himself back.
Jolene couldn't keep up the act anymore. She was about to blow up, but the door to the dressing room opened that instant, and Jenny walked out.
Everyone saw her in the light blue dress. Her fair skin was aglow with the blue fabric against her skin.
Alec was dazed. So were Jolene and her friends.
"I think it's a one-of-a-kind design from a luxury brand," someone whispered, her tone oozing with jealousy.
What right did she have? What right did a country bumpkin like Jenny have to put on a dress that they couldn't even touch?
Jolene gnashed her teeth. She’d wanted to purchase this dress before but was told that someone had already claimed it. She didn't expect it to be a gift for Jenny from this man.
Just who was he? Was he the son of a secret family somewhere in Bardoff City?
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 519-No!
"How do I look?" Jenny walked toward Alec, asking for his opinion.
Alec came back to his senses and smiled, nodding. "Beautiful. You look good in everything."
Jenny was blushing slightly. She felt a little embarrassed by his compliment.
"Who is this, sister?" Jolene cut them off. She couldn’t stand it. Someone as handsome as him should not be wasting his time on her.
Didn't he care that Jenny was divorced?
Jenny had almost forgotten about them. "Are you interested in him?"
Jolene's throat dried up. She smiled dryly. "You said it. I'm just worried about you. Your identity is no longer like before. You cant mingle around with commoners anymore."
Although Alec didn't look like a commoner, Jolene didn't believe that Jenny would be as lucky as to meet a good man after her divorce.
"Shut up if you don't know how to talk." Jenny glared at her, then looked at Alec.
"Ignore her."
Alec smiled. He hadn't taken Jolene seriously at all. To him, no one else mattered besides Jenny.
He took out a diamond necklace from his purse. "It's beautiful, but your neck looks a little bare." Done speaking, he put the necklace around Jenny's neck. It was a blue diamond, and it matched the blue dress perfectly. It was very prominent.
Jolene and her friends were stunned. How much did that diamond cost? It was huge. Jolene felt envious. The Walters were rich, but she had not inherited any precious gems. Her father rarely gifted them to her.
She didn't think much of it before, but now that Jenny was here, she felt upset.
Right at that moment, someone walked into the shop. Jolene realized that it was the driver. She was a little surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"Mr. Walter has ordered me to give this to Miss Jenny." The driver handed Jenny a box.
Jenny took it and opened it, discovering a bracelet in it. As far as her understanding of gemstones went, it was an artisanal sapphire bracelet. A priceless piece.
Before Jenny could speak, Jolene threw a fit. "For her? Why is it for her? How can Dad do this? No! There is no way!"
Jolene screamed and kicked up a fuss. Her friends wanted to comfort her, but they didn't know how to do so.
They didn't think that Graham would play favorites. Jenny had just returned to the Walters, yet she was treated like a princess. What would happen in the future? They wanted to curry favor from Jolene so that their families would benefit from her in the future. But judging by how things were turning out, reality would soon disappoint them.
Jenny kept the bracelet and looked at Jolene. 'Why can't he? Can he only give you things? Can't he give them to me?"
She didn't know that Jolene had never received a gift like this. She thought that Jolene was merely being jealous.
"No! I won't let it!" Jolene screamed and reached out to snatch the box from Jenny.
It should have been hers. Graham must have got it wrong. He must have!
But there was no way Jolene could snatch it from Jenny. Besides, Alec was standing right next to her. He wouldn’t let Jolene touch even a hair on Jenny's head.
He shielded Jenny, glaring at Jolene coldly. "Please have some self- respect.
Don't make me intervene.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 520-Make It Up to You Jolene was incredulous that someone would dare to talk to her like that. She stared at Alec and Jenny, realizing that neither of them respected her as the daughter of the Walter family. It made her feel like a joke.
"Okay, fine! I’ll remember you.' Jolene seethed, trying to restrain herself.
She didn't know Alec's identity, so she didn't dare lay a finger on him.
Nonetheless, she wouldn't let him off the hook so easily. If he was just an ordinary person, Jolene had already thought of a hundred ways to end him. She left the store with a cold snort, and her friends followed suit. Since Jolene didn't dare confront Jenny, neither did they.
Once they were gone, Jenny and Alec were left alone, and the place became quiet instantly. Jenny stared at the box. She didn't seem as happy as she had appeared in front of Jolene.
"What does he mean? Does he really value me that much?" Jenny asked.
Jenny didn't think she was special in any way. She was no different from Jolene as she was also a daughter. Since Jolene grew up by Graham's side, he had all the reasons to like Jolene more.
Alec looked at the box in Jenny's hand, suggesting, "Maybe he's genuinely trying to make it up to you."
"Make it up to me?" Jenny chuckled. "Unfortunately, that's the last thing I need."
If Graham had appeared in her life earlier, perhaps she wouldn't have been so hostile to him. Unfortunately for him, it was too late now.
"Jenny, it's alright. It's completely up to you. I can protect you without him anyway," Alec said, not wanting Jenny to feel burdened.
Hearing that, Jenny chuckled. ’You are as confident as ever."
She didn't know where Alec's self-confidence came from. They were in Bardoff City, where the Faust Group only had a branch. Their company was incomparable to the big shots in the region. Where did Alec find the courage to promise he could protect Jenny?
Nonetheless, Jenny kept those thoughts to herself because she knew Alec only wanted the best for her.
"Don't worry. I'll keep my word." Knowing that Jenny was planning to move her company's headquarters to Bardoff City, he began to make the corresponding preparations.
In the past, he was content being treated like royalty in Parrington.
However, in the present, the reality of his situation made it clear to him that he still had a lot to do. There was no point being treated like royalty in Parrington if he couldn't protect his beloved.
Jenny put away the box and changed the topic.
"Will you attend tonight's event?"
