To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1221-Stop Right There After Alec ended the call, he quickly went to check out what Vincent had said was blowing up on the Internet. When he saw the photo, he couldn't help but laugh.

When Jenny saw him laughing, she was puzzled and asked, "What's so funny?” "Check it out online yourself.’ Alec didn't tell her. He thought it would be more interesting for Jenny to discover it herself.

Jenny didn't hesitate and quickly did as he suggested. Soon, she found out what Alec was laughing about. She saw the photo and thought it was quite beautiful.

She immediately tapped on the "Save" button without hesitation; it was like she did it out of instinct.

"That was a nice photo." Jenny put away her phone and expressed her opinion on the matter.

Alec walked over and sat next to her. He asked, "Vincent called just now and asked if I wanted to retract it. What do you think?"

"It's up to you. I don't care." They were already boyfriend and girlfriend. In addition, the news about them wasn't slanderous in any way, so Jenny didn't really mind.

Alec smiled when he heard her say that, knowing what she meant. "Then we'll just let it be."

As a result, their photo circulated around the Internet for the whole night until the next morning before it was replaced by newer, more pressing news. The attention it received decreased significantly by then.

Jenny didn't pay attention to these things but noticed that many people were looking at her when she went to the hospital.

When Pete came to find Jenny, she'd just finished seeing the last patient. After the patient left, she looked up and noticed Pete standing next to her. Glancing at him, she commented, "You don't seem to be doing well."

Pete looked tired and even had some stubble. He was unlike the Pete she'd seen before.

"My father was arrested. Isn't it normal for me to not be doing well?" Pete asked rhetorically, sitting across from her.

Jenny looked at him, unable to tell if he was genuinely worried about Eric or just acting.

After a long silence, Pete suddenly asked, "Do you think…he will be sentenced to death?"

In fact, even if Eric were sentenced to life imprisonment, Pete wouldn't feel guilty. He thought his father deserved that punishment.

But if it was the death penalty…

Despite all the hatred he had for that man, he still didn't want him to die.

Jenny knew what he meant but didn't want to give him any hope. "He's definitely going to die."

Pete pursed his lips and didn't say anything.

"Although he was your father, his hands were stained with blood, so he deserves death," Jenny added.

Pete understood what she meant and sighed heavily. 'I know, but I haven't gotten over it yet."

"I heard that he'd already handed over all the affairs of the Dafoes to you before he was caught. That meant he was aware of what the outcome would be. You don't need to feel sad for him," Jenny said.

Pete nodded. "I know. I was just asking casually.’ "Why did you come today, then? Our collaboration is over, so I don't think there's a need for us to meet again.’ Jenny's gaze was sharp and unfriendly.

Pete smiled lightly and felt that Jenny’s change of attitude came all too fast. "I still need to testify in court to put the nail in the coffin. So, how can our collaboration be considered complete?"

"Even if you don't testify, Eric is already doomed. If you go, it's your personal choice to exact revenge against him. Whether you go or not is up to you." Jenny smiled at him. Pete hated Eric immensely. If he missed this opportunity, there wouldn't be a chance for him to get his revenge again.

Pete looked at Jenny, silently acknowledging how intelligent she was. "You know, you're quite a fine woman. Why don't we…"

"Stop right there. I'm not interested in you." Jenny ruthlessly rejected him.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1222-Magnanimous Brother-In-Law Pete smiled and said, "I know, you're fixated on Alec. I really don't see what's so good about him that's worth your affection.” "You wouldn't understand.' Jenny seriously doubted that Pete, who grew up in the Dafoe family, would understand what love was. Her guess was indeed correct-he didn't understand, nor did he intend to figure it out. If love would make him follow in Eric's step, he would rather never have something that destructive for the rest of his life.

"I'm done joking around with you. I'm here to invite you to dinner." Pete returned to normal and stated his intentions clearly.

Jenny looked at the time and found that it was indeed time for dinner. However, she'd already made plans with Alec earlier. "I don't think there's a need for that.

We're just partners working together for a common goal. You don't need to thank me."

"I'm not thanking you. I just think you're quite to my taste. As your younger brother, I should treat you to a meal," Pete said with a smile. The word " younger brother’ made Jenny's hair stand on end.

She glared at Pete sternly and said dryly, "Stop talking nonsense. I don't have a younger brother as old as you."

"Oh? Why don't you ask Lynette? I think she considers me her son." Pete grinned confidently.

Jenny didn't know how he had the audacity to say such shameless words. He hadn't exactly treated Lynette well. What made him think that she would consider him her son?

Waving at him dismissively, Jenny tried to shoo him away. "Go away. I don't have time to eat with you."

"Come on, let's have a meal together…my dear sister." Pete blinked at her pleadingly like a spoiled brat.

A chill ran down Jenny's spine as she looked at him. At that moment, she thought he looked like a devil. "What do you want?"

"Nothing. I just want to improve our relationship and have more contact with you in the future. After all, we're siblings," Pete justified.

Jenny didn't know what to say to that.

Obviously, she didn't believe what Pete said. Upon careful consideration, she guessed that he couldn't suppress the Dafoes now and wanted to improve his relationship with her in order to secure help. After all, with the support of the Walters, he would have more say within the Dafoe family.

Alec walked in right then. Seeing Pete there, his cheerful expression immediately became gloomy. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, you're here, my dear brother-in-law. Perfect timing, let's have dinner together," Pete declared smilingly despite Alec looking all grumpy and unfriendly.

Alec was at a loss too. He turned to look at Jenny, as if asking her what Pete meant by that. Jenny shook her head, indicating she hadn't the foggiest idea either.

"My dear sister and brother-in-law, let's go. Come on, don't leave me hanging like this," Pete spoke again, looking slightly aggrieved.

Alec walked to Jenny's side. His originally indifferent face softened a bit." Okay."

"Alec…"

"He called me his brother-in-law. How can I refuse him?" Pete's way of addressing flattered Alec to no end.

Jenny was speechless, silently cursing that Alec was unreliable at times like these.

"As expected of my magnanimous brother-in-law!" Pete then clapped his hands and announced, "Let's go. I've already booked a restaurant."

With that, Pete turned around and walked out, Alec and Jenny towing behind.

"Why did you agree, Alec?" Jenny was sure Pete had ulterior motives.

Alec didn't care. He hugged Jenny and whispered in her ear, "We both know his little tricks, and they won't affect us. So, what's the harm in agreeing?"

"But… "Jenny was aversive toward any further relations with the Dafoes.

"Jenny, do you really think Lynette doesn't care about Pete at all?’ Alec suddenly asked, stunning Jenny with his question

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1223-Jenny Worries Too Much On the way to the restaurant, Jenny remained silent because of Alec's words.

She hadn't thought about it before, but now she suddenly understood the meaning behind his question.

It was possible that Lynette had no feelings for Eric and even harbored resentment toward him. But she should have a different kind of feeling toward Pete. She'd been a parental figure to him since his childhood, after all.

Regardless of how Pete treated her now, she'd likely sincerely treated him as her stepson.

The bond that they had formed over the years wasn't something that would disappear overnight. Jenny couldn't help but feel helpless about this kind of situation. Initially, she didn't want to have any contact with the Dafoes anymore, but now it seemed like she had no choice but to keep in touch with Pete.

"Don't think too much, Jenny. While Lynette may have some motherly love for Pete, it definitely won't surpass her love for you. If she has to choose between you and Pete, I'm sure she'll choose you over him without hesitation," Alec expressed.

Jenny chuckled lightly. Was that so? She didn't feel that way at all.

Although she was Lynette's biological daughter, she hadn't really spent time with her mother at all. On the contrary, she was with Pete throughout his childhood and as he grew up.

"Don't worry. I’m not exactly lamenting that. I just don't want Pete to cause us trouble later on," she explained. She didn't want to be involved with the troublesome Dafoes, nor did she care who Lynette would choose. She was fine on her own and didn't need another mother to care for her.

"Don't worry-if anything happens, I'm here," Alec said with a gentle smile. His warm smile somewhat calmed Jenny's heart. She felt that she'd been worrying too much.

The Walters and the Fausts were close to being invincible when they joined hands in Clusia. At least most people wouldn’t dare to cause trouble for them.

Jenny thought that she's been a bit too paranoid.

She nodded and smiled at him. "Alright, I understand."

As they chatted, Pete's car that was in front of them halted. Alec's car also came to a stop accordingly. They all entered the restaurant together.

Pete had apparently booked the venue in advance, so there were no other people in the restaurant, and it was very quiet. Jenny furrowed her brow and walked behind Alec, still wary of Pete. However, her worries were clearly unnecessary.

Pete had simply invited them to dinner. During the meal, he chatted casually with Jenny about some unimportant topics, as if he really wanted to get closer to her.

Even after dinner, when Jenny and Alec returned to their villa, she still couldn't figure out what Pete's intentions were.

"Are you still thinking about Pete's motives?" Alec looked at her, feeling a little helpless. He then poured her a glass of water and went on, "Don't be fooled by his childlike appearance; he's actually very smart. Establishing closer ties to our two families would benefit him greatly. I'm sure he's aware of this.’ Jenny nodded. She also guessed that this was Pete's goal.

"Pete is different from Eric. It looks like he's probably preparing to transform the Dafoes and not engage in illegal activities, so he needs our help," Alec continued.

His words instantly shed light upon Jenny. She nodded thoughtfully and finally understood what her stepbrother might be up to. "I knew it! The Dafoes' business doesn't coincide with the field both our family businesses are in. It wouldn't make sense for him to try to win us over. So, it turns out that he's aiming for a transformation."

"Don't worry. Based on my observation so far, he shouldn't have any malicious intent. He just wants our help."

Alec usually didn't bother with these things, but since Jenny was so worried, he decided to help her out and ease her anxiety.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1224-Help Him When the Time Comes The incident put Eric in a horrible light, so his trial soon came. Jenny didn't go to court for his hearing, but she did see some news about it from the media.

Eric thought he still had a chance to escape, so he continued to deny his guilt in court until the prosecution presented the data of the people who died under his hands. With that, he was utterly silenced.

It wasn't because of guilt that he decided to shut up, but because he understood one thing. If the prosecution could obtain the information, it meant there was a traitor in the Dafoes who had leaked his wrongdoings to the prosecution.

When he was still contemplating who the traitor could be, Pete appeared in court as a witness, and everything became clear to him instantly. Pete testified that he saw Eric kill those people with his own eyes, and he also revealed many of Eric's other illegal activities.

Eric didn't refute any of it. From the moment Pete appeared in court, he knew he couldn't turn the tables this time. But at that moment, he didn't care about his crimes being brought to justice in court. He stared at Pete and asked blankly, "Why?"

He couldn't understand why, as a Dafoe himself, Pete would do something that harmed the interests of the Dafoe family. Didn't he know that speaking out about these things could be fatal to the Dafoes?

"I just think that the Dafoes should take a different path." Indeed, the former Dafoe family did all sorts of evil deeds and ruled the city, but so what? In the end, nothing good would await them, considering all the sins they'd committed.

Pete wouldn't let this opportunity to change his family for the better pass him by.

Eric understood the meaning behind his words and chuckled, not offering any rebuttal.

The verdict for Eric came out quickly. His deeds were unforgivable, and he was sentenced to death, unsurprisingly.

Before Eric left, he said to Pete, "I hope the Dafoes can flourish under your leadership, and I hope you won't regret your decision today."

Pete didn't speak. He knew in his heart he would never regret it. Even if the future development of the Dafoes could not compare to what they'd achieved now, at least it would be honest and upright.

Three months before Eric's execution, Lynette met him once, but the two didn't say anything to each other.

"Sometimes, I wonder…What's so different about me compared to Graham?

Why did you always want to escape from me?” Eric couldn't help but ask, unwilling to accept his fate.

Lynette glanced at him, not knowing what to say to him. He was going to die, yet he was still so hung up about such a thing.

"Emotions are always hard to explain. If you weren't so obsessive, maybe we wouldn't be in this situation today,’ Lynette answered indifferently. She had no feelings for Eric, even after all those years by his side. She had cursed him more than once for his gruesome deeds and knew he wouldn't have a good end.

Eric laughed lightly. "Yes, but I can't help it. The first time I saw you, I wanted you as my wife." He didn't even understand how Lynette ended up with Graham, even though he'd known her first.

"It's useless to talk about these things now. Since you've come to see me for the last time, there's one thing I need your help with." Eric smiled and didn't continue with meaningless ponderings anymore.

Lynette remained silent, waiting for him to continue.

"I always thought Pete didn't have much ambition, so I never thought much of him. But now it seems that I was wrong. He wants the Dafoe family to transform, which is a good thing, but he doesn't have the ability to do it. I hope you can ask Jenny to help him when the time comes.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1225-Can You Accept Me as Your Mother?

After she left the prison, Lynette told Jenny the last words Eric had said to her.

Then, she added, "You don't have to hold back or worry about anything for my sake. Although Pete was raised by me, he's not really my son after all.” "I understand what you mean. Don't worry, I know what to do," Jenny said to Lynette on the phone.

After they hung up, Jenny didn't think much of the matter. Although she'd entertained Pete's invitation to a meal before out of consideration for Lynette, it didn't mean she would compromise again and again.

If Pete wanted her and Alec to help him, he had to offer enough chips. As long as he could offer sufficiently attractive benefits, even if he were a stranger, she and Alec would help him.

On the day Eric was executed, the news gave enough coverage to the former overlord of Bayside City. Jenny could see that almost all the media published news related to Eric on that day, no matter which website she browsed.

But did it even matter at this point in time? Eric might be rotting in hell or waiting for his turn to be judged by God by then.

Taking a deep breath, she felt an unprecedented level of calm.

At night, Graham invited her and Alec to dinner at Walter Castle. Jenny didn't refuse, as everyone was feeling joyous that day.

Jenny and Alec didn't go to Walter Castle together, as Graham personally called Alec. Upon receiving a call from Graham, Alec put his work aside and went to Walter Castle to help Graham prepare dinner. He wanted to perform well in front of his future in-laws, and Jenny was well aware of this.

"You're here, Jenny." Lynette was wearing a completely new outfit that was absolutely different from the style she'd worn previously. She looked more similar to her appearance in the photo of her that Graham always kept around.

Upon hearing Jenny's name being mentioned, Graham and Alec both peeked out from the kitchen.

"Wash your hands, and dinner will be served," Alec instructed.

"Okay." Jenny nodded.

She went to the bathroom to wash her hands, and Lynette followed behind. It made Jenny a little uncomfortable.

"Do you have something to say to me?" She had talked to Lynette on the phone in the morning and discussed Eric's matter. Now that Lynette was looking at her expectantly, Jenny didn't know what to make of the situation.

Lynette shook her head, but her eyes reddened involuntarily. "Jenny, can you…accept me as your mother?"

Jenny froze for a bit, then she smiled and replied, "You're already my mother by blood. Whether I accept you or not doesn't matter."

"Jenny, you know what I mean." Lynette didn't want such a cold and distant relationship with Jenny; rather, she wanted her daughter's heartfelt recognition.

Jenny didn't say anything, which was indicative of her stance on this matter.

Lynette felt uneasy but knew very well that Jenny didn't like her being pushy.

She could only endure the pain in her heart and ask, ’What do you think about me and your father?"

Upon hearing that, Jenny pondered it carefully and answered, "It's really a matter between you two, and I don't have much right to intervene.

However, you are still my parents, and you've yearned for each other all these years. In the past, there were too many obstacles standing in your way, preventing you from being together. But now, all the obstacles have been removed. If you still love each other, then follow your hearts."

In other words, Jenny still hoped that the two of them could be together. They were already middle aged, and at this stage, they should be enjoying life.

Jenny genuinely hoped that they could be happy together

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1226-Are You Sure?

Lynette understood the meaning behind Jenny's words. She smiled and said, ’It's just that we're both old now, unlike before."

"Age has never been an excuse to limit your love for your destined one.’ Jenny turned around and looked at Lynette.

Lynette was stunned for a moment, then nodded. "You're right."

"So, do you still want to be with my father?" Jenny asked, actually worried that Lynette might change her mind now.

However, her worries were unnecessary.

Lynette thought for a moment and nodded. "Of course, I've been waiting for this day for so many years."

Hearing that, Jenny was relieved, "I hope you both can be happy."

"What about you? Jenny, what about your happiness?"

Right now, Lynette didn't care whether she could be happy or not. Instead, she cared more about Jenny's happiness.

Jenny's gaze instinctively turned toward the kitchen. Lynette understood instantly but still had some concerns. "Your father told me that you were divorced from him before. Why did you choose to be with him again?' "The situation between us is very complicated. You and my father don't need to worry about it. Just live your own life." Jenny didn't want to explain too much.

Moreover, to Jenny, Lynette’s opinion wouldn't affect her in the slightest. She didn't care whether Lynette approved of Alec or not.

Hearing her say that, Lynette wisely chose not to comment further. "Let's go back to the dining room. It's time for dinner."

"Okay."

After their short chat, the two came out of the bathroom.

By then, the food had been served on the table. Jenny could easily tell which dishes were made by Alec. After all, compared to Alec, Graham's culinary skills were shabby.

"Let's eat." Graham came out of the kitchen with the last dish and smiled at Jenny and Lynette before sitting down across from them.

Alec had also opened the premium red wine he had brought and poured a glass for everyone. "Today is a good day. Let's have a toast."

"Sure." Jenny nodded. She also felt that it was a good day.

After resolving the matter between Lynette and Eric, Graham didn't have to worry about her safety anymore. The four of them raised their glasses, clinked them, and drank.

"The wine is good," Graham praised. He'd had a lot of grievances with Alec before, but what happened in the kitchen just now made him change his mind a bit. A man who could cook so well shouldn't be bad in any way, right?

"Jenny, now that your mother is back, I'm going to take her out to see the world.

From now on, I'll leave the Walter family to you," Graham said slowly while eating. He felt a bit sorry for Jenny when he decided to do that since he would go around the world while leaving his daughter at home to work hard.

However, Jenny didn't seem to mind. She waved her hand casually and said, "You guys can just go ahead. There won't be any problems with the Walters."

Then, she asked an unexpected question. 'By the way, when are you planning to get married?"

As soon as she spoke, Graham and Lynette looked at each other. Lynette lowered her head, and Graham replied, "Well, I talked to your mother about it.

Actually, we're not that concerned about getting married. It's just a useless piece of paper in the end. As long as we are together, it's fine."

Jenny's expression became somewhat serious upon hearing this. She looked at the two of them and said, "Are you sure? If this gets out, it might impact Madam Bell’s reputation.’ She was concerned that their relationship would be fundamentally improper and illegitimate if they didn't get married.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1227-Sleepless Night "Jenny, I don't care about these things. In fact, I suggested it," Lynette said.

Although she still loved Graham, she didn't want to suffer the hardships of marriage all over again. She felt that being together with Graham like this was good enough, and there was no need to be hung up on any form of legal status to be Graham’s wife.

Since Lynette said so, Jenny didn’t push forthem to get married and let it go.

“Alright, you guys should decide for yourselves."

After all, it was their own business, and the days ahead were theirs to live. As a daughter, she had no right to intervene too much.

The topic ended there. Graham had originally wanted to ask Jenny and Alec when they planned to get married, as he planned to go traveling around the world after they got married. But thinking of what Alec had said in the kitchen earlier, he felt that asking now might be a bit too hasty.

No matter when they got married, Graham and Lynette could always hurry back by that time.

Soon, they were done with the meal. A harmonious and warm atmosphere lingered around after that. It gave Jenny a sense of being at home, but it was a very weak feeling that disappeared after leaving Walter Castle.

"I think your father and mother are still very affectionate toward each other. You don't have to worry too much," Alec said, looking at Jenny and trying to comfort her. They were in the backseat of the car, and she was leaning on his shoulder.

Jenny understood what he meant. "I know, I'm not worried. I’m happy for them."

Happy? Alec couldn't see any trace of joy on her face.

"Alec, have you ever thought about what the future will be like?" Jenny suddenly asked as she snuggled deeper into Alec's arms.

Alec was a little taken aback but quickly replied, "I don't know what the future will be like, but there is one thing I'm sure of-my future will definitely have you in it."

Jenny felt her heart skip a beat at his words. Her lips curled up, and the uneasiness in her heart dissipated a lot. "Well, that would be nice."

After returning to the villa, Jenny seemed to be drunk as she kept clinging to him, unwilling to let go. Feeling helpless, Alec had no choice but to accompany her to bed. At first, they slept peacefully, but gradually the mood began to change.

"Jenny, if you squirm around again, I won't be able to hold myself back anymore." Alec felt he had already been very gentlemanly and patient, but Jenny kept pushing him. He could barely hold himself back.

Jenny looked up, and her lips were just against Alec's chin. "No one's asking you to hold back…"

She had whispered those words, but Alec still heard them. He chuckled lightly and then pressed her down on the bed, "You said it yourself."

Jenny blinked her misty eyes at him in a daze, not realizing how attractive that gaze was to Alec. Almost instantly, Alec lowered his head and bit her lips. This night was destined to be a sleepless night.

Early in the morning at Faust Group, Vincent could tell that his boss was in a good mood.

"Mr. Faust, it seems like the Wardleys are up to something," Vincent reported.

At that moment, Alec had a contented smile on his lips, but that smile disappeared immediately when he heard Vincent's words. "The Wardleys? What are they up to?"

"It seems like they have been contacting other families privately, but we don't know what they're trying to do yet," Vincent answered with a hint of concern.

Ever since he found out that Anthony was now the head of the Wardleys, he felt that the man wouldn't give up easily and would definitely try to attack Alec behind his back. It was something Alec was well aware of.

"Hmph, I think he's courting death! Make arrangements to teach the Wardleys a lesson. If they stop what they're doing, then let them be. But if they don't, make the Wardleys disappear altogether." Alec now had what it takes to call the shots for such a drastic decision

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1228-aspect except for his background. Now that he had caught up in terms of background and status, he was naturally adamant about proving his abilities.

Unfortunately, he overestimated himself in the end.

For a while, everyone in Bardoff City knew that Anthony and Alec were warring against each other, and it was evident to everyone that Anthony was no match for Alec. Looking at how the stock market prices had been tanking continuously for the Wardleys, they would be finished if the situation persisted.

However, since they were a big and prominent family, their fall wouldn't happen that quickly. It was just that everyone could foresee that if things continued like that, the Wardleys would be doomed sooner or later.

Before this, Anthony had approached some families, wanting to join forces with them to deal with Alec. They were very interested at first, but now all of them didn't dare to act.

To start off, the Faust family had long been one of the Ten Elites, and with Alec's strong personal abilities, the Fausts were thriving under his leadership instead of regressing. At a time like this, no one dared to provoke Alec.

The board of directors of the Wardleys had just criticized Anthony. They demanded he cease his confrontation with Alec and personally apologize in order to minimize the Wardleys' losses.

Unfortunately, Anthony wouldn't listen to them.

"Anthony, what should we do now? Are we just going to give up like this?’ Anthony had spent some time in the underworld before the Wardleys brought him back, so he had a few underlings under his command. After he went back and became a Wardley, he brought his subordinates with him. They were now his confidants.

Anthony tapped the table, and his expression clouded over. "Quintus, I've encountered a problem now. If I don't resolve this, I'm afraid my life will be over.

Are you willing to help me?"

"My life is yours, Anthony. What can I do to help you? Just tell me.' Quintus was still very young, barely eighteen. In his heart, nothing was more important than comradeship and camaraderie.

Anthony smiled, but there was a hidden murderous intent behind it.

On Friday, traffic was exceptionally busy as everyone hurried to get off work as the weekend approached. Alec picked Jenny up from the hospital, and they were now looking for a place to eat.

"Is the hospital busy these days?" Alec and Jenny chatted casually while waiting for the traffic light to turn green.

Jenny nodded. "There's never a time when the hospital isn't busy."

"Then, aren't you working very hard?" Alec felt a little worried that Jenny was working too hard, but he knew he couldn't ask her to stop being a doctor.

Jenny shook her head and replied, "I've gotten used to it. I actually think it's better to be busy. That way, my days will be more fulfilling."

"Well, it's fine as long as you like it. But if you feel tired, then take a break.’ Alec could only say so much.

Jenny knew what he meant and smiled at him. "Don't worry, I’m fine. The light's green; let's go."

She looked at the green light ahead and changed the subject promptly.

Alec didn't say anything more. He started the car and continued driving forward.

Just as their car reached the intersection, a large truck on the right suddenly rushed toward them. The truck seemed to be out of control and showed no signs of slowing down!

Jenny's gaze was still on Alec, and she didn't notice the truck on the right, but Alec did.

"Jenny!" he exclaimed and then acted on instinct.

He turned the steering wheel sharply to the right, then protected Jenny in his arms. A loud bang ensued, and both of them felt the loss of gravity.

The next moment, their car fell back onto the ground heavily. Jenny tried to open her eyes to see what had happened, but she passed out due to the huge impact.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1229-The Driver Is Dead When Jenny opened her eyes again, it was already the third day after the car accident. Although Alec had shielded her from the impact at that time, she still suffered significant injuries.

Looking at the white ceiling above her, Jenny felt momentarily confused and was unable to react.

Stephanie pushed the door open and entered, intending to check on Jenny's condition. When she saw Jenny's opened eyes, she burst into tears of joy.

"Jenny, you're awake!"

"Yeah," Jenny responded weakly, her voice hoarse and barely able to croak the word.

Seeing that, Stephanie quickly brought her some water so that she could take a small sip. Jenny felt much more comfortable after hydrating her throat.

She asked Stephanie to help her sit up against the headboard and slowly came to her senses. "Where is Alec?"

Stephanie's expression became a little apprehensive at her question, but she didn't hide anything from her best friend. "He's still in the ICU."

Hearing that, Jenny's complexion paled in response. She was already lacking in color, but now her face became even whiter and more frightening.

"Don't worry. Your parents have found him the best doctors. As long as he can make it through these next two days, he'll be fine," Stephanie comforted her.

Jenny forced a bitter smile. She didn't know what to say.

If Alec hadn't turned the steering wheel to the right at that time, she would be the one lying in the ICU now. Initially, the big truck was coming straight at her, but Alec turned the steering wheel and managed to steer her away from the devastating impact.

"What about that driver…"

"He's already dead," Stephanie answered.

Jenny's face was gloomy. She didn't think it was an accident. "Who was he? M "It seems like he was just a thug. He seemed to be drunk at the time."

Stephanie replied. She didn't know the details either. She'd been taking care of Jenny these past few days and hadn't paid much attention to other things.

Jenny didn't ask any further. The most important thing for her was to wait for Alec to wake up. As for the culprit behind it, she would hunt them down later.

"Steph, help me get to the ICU. I want to see him," Jenny requested and tried to get up. She couldn't feel at ease without seeing Alec.

This time, Stephanie didn't agree with her. She stopped Jenny swiftly. "You just recovered! You can't get out of bed."

"I know my body. There's nothing wrong with it," Jenny insisted.

"No, you can't. Anyway, you can't do anything by going to Alec's side now. You can't even get into the ICU." Stephanie was equally insistent. She felt that Jenny should rest well for the time being.

Jenny felt helpless, as she couldn't walk to the ICU alone without Stephanie's support.

When she was stressing over what to do, the door to her ward opened again.

This time, Gilbert and Zack walked in.

"Jenny? When did you wake up?" Both of their expressions lit up when they saw she was awake. They'd been feeling guilty for the past few days, ever since Jenny had been lying in bed due to the accident.

Recently, they had both been busy with their own affairs. Zack had been staying by Janet's side every day, while Gilbert had been busy making money because he'd given all his liquid assets to Marigold. As a result, they had both neglected caring for Jenny, and they didn't expect something like that to happen.

When Jenny saw the two of them, she instantly asked for their help, hoping they would indulge her. "I woke up a while ago. Can you help me get to the ICU, please?"

Jenny looked at Gilbert pitifully, only to have Gilbert frown back at her. He knew why Jenny wanted to go there. He deduced that Alec was probably there.

"You just woke up. It’s not good for you to get out of bed and walk around. You should rest more.’ Gilbert refused her outrightly.

Jenny was about to say something, but Gilbert interrupted her, "Alec's situation is very stable, so there shouldn't be any problems. What you need to do now is to get better as soon as possible."

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1230-Soup for Me No one was willing to take Jenny to see Alec. As she was still physically very weak, she could only give up.

"Gilbert, can you help me look up that dead driver? I don't think it was just an accident." She didn't believe that things could happen so coincidentally. Even if it really was an accident, she had to look into it herself and dispel any suspicious points.

Gilbert didn't refuse. "Okay, I'll look into it for you. But promise me you'll take care of yourself and not do anything reckless."

"Don't worry, I know." Jenny nodded. With her current condition, she could barely even get out of bed, let alone leave the ward.

Gilbert and Zack stayed in the ward with Jenny for half an hour before leaving the hospital, leaving only Stephanie to take care of her.

In the evening, Graham and Lynette came to visit.

In the past two days, there had been various rumors about Jenny and Alec's accident among the Faust and Walter family members. As a result, Graham had to spend more time dealing with company matters. He even had to find a way to keep the Faust family running until Alec was back in action.

Fortunately, Alec had taken good care of his family business. Even though he had an accident, the Fausts didn't immediately fall into chaos.

"Jenny, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Lynette looked at her pale face with reddened eyes, feeling extremely concerned.

Jenny shook her head. "I'm fine, really.’ "Fine?" With her weak voice, it was hard to believe her words. Lynette turned her head, apparently unable to hold back her tears.

Graham sat next to her, feeling guilty. 'It's my fault for not protecting you well as your father."

"Dad, I'm not a child. I don't need your protection.'* Given the situation back then, even if Graham had been with her, what could he do?

Although she said that to console him, Graham was still very upset, so he decided to stay and look after Jenny. He couldn't let anything else happen to her.

"Mr. Walter, Madam Bell, you should go back and rest. I'll stay here and take care of Jenny. I'm sure nothing will happen with me here," Stephanie persuaded them.

Graham looked at Stephanie gratefully. "Steph, you're a good kid. I know you'll take care of my Jenny, but we're her parents. It's our responsibility to stay and take care of her. You should go back and rest instead."

The two of them kept pushing back and forth for some time, but they couldn't come to a conclusion as to who should stay. Seeing how each party kept insisting that they should be the ones to stay, Jenny spoke up.

"Dad, you guys go back first. Let Steph take care of me."

Both her parents were not young anymore. If they were to take care of her in the hospital for the whole night, their bodies might not be able to take it. If they were to collapse, she would be worried about them instead.

Jenny was very firm about it, so Graham and Lynette looked at each other helplessly and nodded. ’Alright, we'll come see you again tomorrow."

"Okay." Jenny nodded slightly.

As they were leaving, Lynette handed over the soup she'd brought. "Here's some soup I made for you. Do have some."

"Okay, thank you." Jenny didn't refuse Lynette's kindness. She knew that her mother wanted to make up for the years of being absent from her daughter's life.

Jenny didn't mind. If this could make her feel better, why should she refuse? And so, Lynette put the soup on Jenny's bedside table and left the ward with Graham.

The ward soon quieted down. Stephanie took the thermos bottle that Lynette had placed by the bed and opened it. The fragrance of the soup immediately wafted out.

"It smells so good.' "Ahem! The doctor said you still can't eat anything, so I'll take care of this for you," Stephanie said unabashedly, as she was getting hungry.
