Seeing Frank here meant that Frank had already killed the red-fur monster, and he was naturally terrified.
“Don’t worry.” Alda quickly went up and assured him nonetheless. “Mr. Frankton won’t kill innocents. Why don’t you start by telling us who you are?”
The youth stammered, “Pax brought me here against my will… To play chess!”
Frank understood right then. “So I can proceed once I beat you?”
The youth quickly nodded but soon shook his head. “Actually, that’s not all. I mean, I could just let you pass… but Pax said I can only do that if you beat me at chess, or he’d make me suffer. Please, you have to help me!” Frank smiled and nodded. “I like an honest person, so I’ll make an exception for you.”
With those words, he took a seat in front of the youth, but the youth whispered under his breath, “Wait! There’s a penalty if you lose. You have to be careful!”
