Chapter 6338
Rachel’s father, David Getty, had been waiting at home for a long time. He felt a surge of happiness at the sight of Darrin Hearth. Extending his hand for a shake, he smiled and asked, “Why did Mr. Hearth come by so late today? That’s never happened before.”
Darrin Hearth returned the smile and replied, “Our chairman asked me to come over and discuss crude oil with Getty.”
David Getty’s expression brightened as he responded, “No problem! By the way, I’m curious about how much shale oil you intend to sell through us this time.”
Darrin Hearth shook his head and answered earnestly, “We aren’t planning to sell; we’re actually looking to buy.”
“Buy?” David Getty asked, puzzled. “You run a shale oil mining company and don’t engage in oil refining. Why this sudden interest in purchasing crude oil?”
Darrin Hearth was candid, saying with a smile, “Our chairman recently shared his views on the Middle East situation, suggesting it could worsen in the near future. Consequently, we want to stock up on some oil ahead of time.”
David Getty appeared surprised. “Mr. Hearth, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has generally improved lately. I’ve heard a new round of peace talks is coming soon, and traffic has picked up a bit. The price of international crude oil should decline before long. It might not crash, but I expect an adjustment of at least 15% to 20%, especially after the recent price surge.”
