Robert’s girlfriend held back her excitement and asked him tentatively, “Your family invited you to dinner. Is it appropriate for me to join?”
Robert smiled at her and replied, “If it feels awkward, keep in mind that they suggested this themselves, so if you have no other plans, feel free to come along.”
She paused for a moment, feigning hesitation and then said nervously, “Okay… But if there’s anything I should be aware of, please let me know in advance so I don’t embarrass you.”
Seeing her nervousness, Robert felt a wave of love and compassion wash over him. He gently touched her face and said with a smile, “There’s nothing to worry about. Even though he’s from the Rothschild family, just treat him like any ordinary elder today.”
His girlfriend nodded slightly and asked, “Do you have time? I’d like to go back and change into something more formal.”
Robert nodded with a smile, saying, “I have time. I’ll accompany you to your dorm.”
She nodded again and together they made their way to her women’s dormitory.
