Chapter 6321
Charlie and Maria were walking around the Stanford campus. The clock had just struck five, and numerous college students were emerging from the main lecture halls, heading toward the various stadiums scattered around the campus.
Basketball courts, football fields, tennis courts, and other sporting venues dominate nearly every open space here. While Stanford is not primarily known as a sports school, the culture of collegiate athletics has deep roots in America. Consequently, sports play a significant role in the lives of college students, with many choosing to engage in exercise and training as soon as classes end.
Maria seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. Each time they passed by a sports field, she would pause to watch the activities taking place. Charlie could see the excitement in her eyes, indicating she was eager for a life filled with such energy.
It appeared that the age of seventeen or eighteen represents a peak of vitality. This enthusiastic approach to sports naturally holds a powerful allure.
The two reached the edge of the football field, where the school team was engaged in practice. The team was divided into two squads, and they began a spirited competition on the field. This particular event drew the largest number of participants and spectators. Many fans waved flags and cheered from the sidelines, creating a lively atmosphere.
Maria and Charlie found a spot to sit in a less crowded area. Gripping her ball with one hand, Maria watched the training session and asked, “Have you ever played rugby, sir?”
“No,” Charlie replied, shaking his head and smiling. “I don’t even know the rules.”
