Chapter 6271
Chapter 6271
Balin journeyed deep into the frigid Antarctic night, traversing an icy landscape. While the low temperatures outside had minimal impact on him, sprinting through such harsh conditions drained his physical stamina and reiki.
Initially, he could have halted after covering several dozen kilometers to dig out a frozen shelter. However, his fear of the U.S. military’s firepower pushed him to run nearly two hundred kilometers nonstop, seeking a location so remote that even penguins wouldn’t be found there. Using his sword energy, he carved out an ice hole approximately one meter in diameter and thirty meters deep.
Upon creating the ice cave, he smashed the removed ice chunks into crystals the size of gravel, which quickly vanished into the surrounding ice and snow.
Without delay, Balin jumped inside. To maximize his safety, he melted part of the ice on the cave walls with his reiki before lifting the ice to block the entrance.
The biting cold, at minus 60 degrees, rapidly froze the water held up by his spirit energy back into ice, enveloping Balin like a silkworm in a cocoon.
He thought simply to remain here until the Antarctic summer arrived, putting his exploration plans on hold for the year. With the little reiki he had left, he knew he wouldn’t last long in the harsh climate of Antarctica.
This also illustrated Balin’s pragmatic approach; he preferred to abandon a mission rather than risk unnecessary danger.
