It was Charlie who stepped into the room, he’d just arrived at Shangri-La. He looked around the room for a minute, then focused his gaze on Mr. Mai, and asked, “Is this Mr. Mai?”
The sight of Charlie’s confident and stoic gaze left Mr. Mai with the belief that he was a police officer in plain clothes, so he hurriedly said, “Hello, Officer, I am Mr. Mai. Something very important to me has been stolen!”
Charlie nodded, and said to Isaac Cameron and other staff around him, “I want to survey the scene, everyone not directly related to the incident will leave.”
Isaac Cameron pretended not to know him, and said hurriedly, “Okay.”
After speaking, he and the other staff left the room together, and shut the door to him as they left. In the room, only Charlie, Mr. Mai, and his great-grandson remained. As he watched Isaac Cameron close the door, Mr. Mai couldn’t help but ask Charlie, “Officer, are you the only one from the police who’ll be responding at this time?”
Charlie looked at Mr. Mai, and suddenly said with a somewhat grim expression, “Since there are no outsiders, I will speak openly. I am not a police officer. I came to find you, because there is something we must talk about”
Mr. Mai frowned and asked very vigilantly, “You are not a police officer!? Then who are you!? Do you have my compass!?”
