With every adjustment, Menadion’s Wrath grew stronger. Solus managed to weave more runes before hitting another obstruction and being forced to stop.
By the time dinner came around, she was just short of completing the final rune.
“I’m exhausted.” Solus leaned on the Sage Staff like a cane. “Even with you stabilizing the elemental crystals and the Eyes, managing the Ears’ data flow while casting a Blade Spell is too much. Let’s call it for today.”
“Just a few more seconds.” Lith performed a final scan of the pseudo–Sage Staff’s configuration before dispelling it. “Done. I’ll compile the data and store it in the Library.”
“If the tower finds a way to improve it, we’ll have the answer waiting tomorrow.”
“Gods, I can’t believe that just a few months ago we had to design a new crafting method for every prototype—and rely on the Factory to produce dozens of versions before one worked,” Solus said, storing the Yggdrasill wood in the Armory to boost the tower’s processing power.
