He placed her back on the cradle to check her diaper, making sure she wasn’t soiled before he gently picked her up again. “Oh, I know. You’re hungry, aren’t you?”
He handed his daughter over to Sharon Lindt before walking side to prepare a bottle of milk, using his wrist to test the temperature until he was satisfied.
