Ch. 986..990: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 986-990

Chapter 986

Finding a chance to end the subject, Bianca said, “Sure. I will arrange two seats in the VIP sections for you.

She tried her best to suppress the frustration boiling within her. Though she really wanted Anthony to stay with her, she knew that Anthony was in a hurry to go home to Anne, and no one could ever change Anthony’s mind on anything.

After dinner, Anthony left early.

“Uncle, when did Anthony arrive in Athetin?” Bianca asked.

“Yesterday morning. You didn’t know?” Corentin asked with the glass in hand.

“I’ve been quite busy and have not seen him all that frequently. It’s just…I think I told you about Anne’s car accident before and Anthony has not been paying me much attention since,” she said.

She wanted to use Corentin to get Anthony back. Corentin did not seem to be aware of the fact that Bianca was not Nigel’s daughter by blood, or he would not have invited her to lunch with Anthony, it was clearly Corentin’s attempt in trying to give her an opportunity to talk to Anthony.

“Ever since my mom passed, I needed Anthony more than ever…” Bianca said gloomily. “Uncle, can you help me? I can’t live without Anthony. At least Anne has her children!”

“I can’t help with relationships, but you have an advantage over other women, so I don’t think that Anthony would be too cold to you,” Corentin said calmly.

“I know that Anthony loves me. Had it not been for the triplets, I would have been Mrs. Marwood by now,” she said confidently.

Her mother had once mentioned that children were the

Achilles‘ heels, but Bianca had not been successful in her efforts to bear Anthony’s child.

“There will always be chances as long as you are alive,” Corentin said, before getting up from his seat. “I’ll be there at night.”

Bianca watched as Corentin disappeared into the distance, feeling motivated by his words.

‘That’s right. I won’t give up,‘ she thought. ‘With Anne losing most of her memories now, she isn’t a match for me!‘

By the time Anthony returned to the Royal Mansion, Anne was taking an afternoon nap on the master bedroom bed with the children.

He called for the maids to carry the triplets out and removed his jacket, before tossing it aside and sitting down by the bed.

His shadow loomed over Anne’s face.

Sensing the eyes on her, Anne dazedly opened her eyes and spotted the man sitting next to her “Anthony… Anthony, you are back?!” She sat up.

He felt a tickle in his chest at her soft voice and pulled her closer. “Did I wake you? Hm?”

“No…” Anne had not expected to wake up to him appearing beside her in such a surprising manner. “Are you done with work already?”

“I left it with others to follow up on it.” Anthony could not remain in Athetin forever until he found Lilian.

Anne did not ask if Anthony was with Bianca and tried to brush everything off as a coincidence. She felt increasingly like a housewife who waited for her husband to return home every day, not knowing what

to expect.

“What have you been doing at home the past two days?” Anthony asked gently, like a father who returned home asking if his children had been good.

“Nothing much apart from staying with the kids. I dropped by the office this morning and came home for lunch, and just stayed in to take a nap with the kids…” It was at that moment that Anne remembered that she went to sleep with the children next to her, while she was alone in bed at the moment. “Where are they?”

“They are old enough to sleep on their own,” Anthony said.

“They are just two…” Anne protested.

“Even if they are two,” he said, before planting a kiss on her lips.

She lowered her chin shyly as her chest swelled.

There was still hope for her as long as Anthony returned to her and they were still a family as long as she could see him.

The next day, Anthony returned to the Archduke Group after having breakfast with his family.

Anne went down the stairs with the children and saw him off.

Chapter 987

Anthony was about to get into the car, before he turned around and walked back to Anne.

Anne had thought that he needed to say something, but he simply covered the triplets‘ eyes with both his hands and pressed his lips against hers, giving her a nibble before finally letting go.

The triplets did not know what had happened, and only noticed that their father had gotten into the car and their mother’s face was flushing like a ripped apple.

Anne accompanied the children to draw in the living room when her phone rang. She glanced over and saw Anthony’s name on the screen, so she took her phone with her as she walked outside. “Anthony…”

“I’m not coming home for lunch.”

“Oh, you are having lunch in the office?”

“Yeah. I will go back later in the afternoon.”

“Sure. I’ll let you get back to work.”

“Good girl.”

“I…I’m not a child…” Anne kept getting a feeling that

Anthony was treating her like a child.

“I agree,” he said in a seductive tone.

Anne could sense that he meant something else, but could not figure what it was.

After the call, she remained standing outside thoughtfully.

“Are you thinking about Mr. Marwood, Mrs. Marwood?” Mia came over and asked with a smile.

Anne blushed. “No, I’m not thinking about him…”

“If you miss him, you can go to his office to look for him! ” Mia said.

“He’s busy. I don’t want to disturb him.” Anne wanted to, but did not want to get in Anthony’s way.

“Why don’t you deliver lunch for him? Mr. Marwood is so busy and he might forget to eat,” Mia suggested.

Anne realized that Mia was right. Anthony would eventually have to eat and delivering lunch for him seems like a legitimate excuse for a visit. However, she had never done so before and felt slightly unsure.

“Go ahead, Mrs. Marwood! He will be surprised if he sees you!” Mia dragged Anne to the living room and into the kitchen.

“Really?” Anne asked with uncertainty.

“Of course! There’s a saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!”

In the end, Anne packed lunch for Anthony with Hayden’s help. The main meal was placed inside a lunchbox along with a small container filled with soup, and another container with desserts.

“Mr. Marwood has a stomach issue, so it’s best that he finishes the soup first before eating the rest. The soup we made here is definitely more nutritious compared to the ones outside.” Hayden could not agree to what Anne planned on doing more as he was pleased that Anthony and Anne were getting along.

“I will take the children with me,” Anne said, intending to draw strength from her triplets.

“You should go alone, Mrs. Marwood. With the kids there, you and Mr. Marwood won’t be able to have the room to yourselves,” Mia said.

“Mia is right. You should go alone, Mrs. Marwood,” Hayden agreed with a smile.

Anne went into a car with the lunchbox in her hands and left the Royal Mansion.

She arrived at the Archduke Group a little over half an hour later and the driver helped to carry the lunchbox. ” Mrs. Marwood, I can help to carry this up.

“It’s fine. I’ll do it myself,” she refused.

She stepped into Anthony’s private elevator and reached the highest floor of the building.

As she reached the office, she knocked and when there was no response, she pushed the door open and went inside.

Anthony was nowhere to be found and she set the lunchbox onto the coffee table, wondering if he was not in the office.

“Anthony, we can’t do this. Anne will be devastated if she finds out about us,” Bianca’s voice came from the lounge.

Chapter 988

Anne stilled and paled as she held her breath.

“We’ve had a wonderful time together in Athetin and here you are, calling me over again. If we meet too frequently, Anne is going to find out,” Bianca continued in a worried tone. “Anthony, I know that it’s hard for you to pretend like you love Anne for the sake of the children. It’s hard for me, too. I shouldn’t have made you marry Anne, which is why I agree to what you proposed before. Let’s just get a divorce at the right time. I just love you too much to let you go, and I’m sure that Anne won’t fight me on this. After all, what’s the point for her to keep you to herself when you don’t love her at all…”

Anne backed away with tears in her eyes. Unable to stand it any longer, she picked up the lunchbox on the coffee table and ran away from the office.

Hearing the noises outside, Bianca opened the door to the lounge and walked out.

She had been alone inside all along. She knew that

Anthony was out of the office and headed to the Archduke Group to wait for Anne.

‘I’ll let you have a taste of what it’s like to know that your husband is seeing his ex–fiance in secret, until this feeling is overwhelming enough to choke you to death!‘ She thought.

Anne returned to the parking lot with the elevator and stumbled as soon as she walked out.

“Ugh!”

The lunchbox in her hands flew open and the food inside scattered on the ground.

She stared at the food dazedly and without making an effort to pick them up, she turned heels and left.

Once she was inside the car, the driver noticed the dark look on her face and asked, “Why did you come back down so early, Mrs. Marwood? Did you manage to deliver the food?”

“He wasn’t there,” she said.

The driver thought that Anne was simply upset that she could not see Anthony and consoled her. “It’s fine. Mr. Marwood will be pleased to know that you tried. You can always do it again.”

Anne decided that once was enough and she was never going to attempt it again.

She ran into Anthony and Bianca holding one another the first time she went to the Archduke Group and found them seeing each other in the lounge on her second visit.

She knew what they were doing in the lounge, as normal conversation would not require them to enter the lounge. She kept her head bowed and clenched her fists until they were as pale as her face.

Anne had allowed herself to think that it was a coincidence that Bianca and Anthony were in Athetin at the same time, but in the end, she was merely lying to herself.

When she arrived home and got out of the car, Mia greeted her caringly, “Home so early, Mrs. Marwood? I thought you would have your lunch with Mr. Marwood.”

“He is busy.”

Spotting the look on Anne’s face, Mia realized the plan had worked and continued to add fuel to the fire. “Mr. Marwood must be pleased to see you, right? He’s been so caring and kind to you whenever he’s in the Royal Mansion, and back when Ms. Faye-” Mia’s voice came to a sudden halt.

Anne froze and asked, “What?”

“Nothing. The manager is going to fire me if he finds out that I said this,” Mia said worriedly.

“I won’t tell anyone.”

“Um…back when Ms. Faye lived here, Mr. Marwood acted slightly differently,” Mia stuttered. “Ms. Faye would play piano and Mr. Marwood would listen to her on the couch, then the two would have candle–lit dinner together. Ms. Faye’s room is still there! But I heard that it’s just an empty room because she slept in the master bedroom all the time. After…”

“After I got here, she left?” Anne asked.

“There’s something that people here don’t have the courage to tell you, but whenever you are not around, Mr. Marwood would bring Ms. Faye over…” Mia’s voice faded into the background.

A sharp pain pierced through Anne’s heart.

She had known about it all along ever since she found Bianca’s earring under Anthony’s pillow. She told herself that she could ignore it and wait for Anthony to come home to her like a good wife for as long as she loved him. She thought that all she wanted was to see Anthony, and did not realize until this moment that it still hurt her, regardless.

Chapter 989

“Mrs. Marwood, you won’t tell anyone, right? Mr. Marwood is going to kill me if he finds out,” Mia said.

Even though Anne felt like her heart was being torn apart, she still worried for Mia’s safety and said gently, “I won’t. You are the only one who would tell me this here. Thank you.”

“I didn’t dare to before, but I can’t stand watching how you are lied to anymore,” Mia said. “I don’t understand why Mr. Marwood would marry you if he is still in love with Ms. Faye. He’s just going to end up hurting both of you!”

Anne turned and stared off into the distance gloomily.

‘Why?‘ she thought. ‘I heard every word back in the office. Bianca was the one who forced Anthony to marry me. I had thought that Anthony had married me for the children, and it turns out that wasn’t the case…marrying me has always been a charity case for both Anthony and Bianca and it’s only a matter of time that I lose everything…

“Mrs. Marwood, are you alright?” Mia asked.

“I’m fine…”

Anne walked into the living room where the children were having lunch, and returned to her room straight – away.

It felt as though there were countless invisible hands trying to drag her down to hell and as she sank into her thoughts, the triplets ran into the room, shouting in unison, “Mama!”

She snapped out of her dazed state and forced a smile at them. “Done with your lunch?”

“Have you eaten, Mama?” Charlie asked.

“Hayden said Mama sent lunch to Papa, so they definitely ate together!” Chloe said.

“That’s right!” Chris agreed.

Anne patted Chris on the head. “That’s true. I’ve eaten.”

She had not eaten anything after what she had heard and the humiliation she had been put through for being neglected by her husband.

“Mama, we are going for a walk!”

“Yeah, Mama. We are going to catch butterflies!”

“In the garden!”

The triplets dragged her down the stairs and into the garden to catch butterflies.

Chris and Charlie ran after the butterflies, while Chloe recorded them with Anne’s phone.

Just as Chloe was about to take a photo of a butterfly, it flew off.

“Ah! Don’t go!” Chloe widened her eyes.

“You don’t have to get too close. Just stand here and zoom so you won’t scare the butterfly away,” Anne said.

“Okay, Mama!” Chloe instantly learnt the trick and scrolled her fingers on the screen to zoom in on the butterfly. Just as she was about to take a photo, a call came in and she accidentally answered it.

Shortly after, Anthony’s face appeared on the screen.

Chloe was shocked for a moment, before chirping, “Ah! It’s Papa!”

Chapter 990

Anne and Chloe’s faces appeared on the screen, followed by Charlie and Chris’s. The triplets chirped as they called out to him and Anthony narrowed his eyes slightly in content at the heart–warming scene.

Anne noticed that Anthony was in his office, her heart sinking at the thought of what he had been doing with Bianca inside.

‘Bianca has probably left,‘ she thought, ‘or he won’t be calling me…”

“Papa, we are catching butterflies with Mama!” Charlie yelled.

“I am taking photos of butterflies with Mama!” Chloe added.

“There are so many butterflies! So pretty!” Chris said.

The triplets went on and on about what had happened excitedly.

“Send me the photos later,” he said, “don’t use your mom’s phone.”

“Okay!” The triplets ran off to ask Hayden for a phone, leaving Anne to speak to Anthony alone.

Not knowing what to say, Anne muttered, “If you don’t have anything else to say, I’ll go find the kids now…

“Choosing them over me? Hm?” He asked hoarsely.

Anne lowered her gaze. “I thought you were busy?”

“Not now.”

“Have you eaten?”

“Not yet. Just done with work. I’ll eat in a bit,” Anthony said.

‘You are just done with Bianca, you mean…‘ Anne thought to herself.

Had she not been to the Archduke Group, she would still be thinking that Anthony truly cared for her.

“You should go eat something, then. I’ll check on the kids.”

“Sure. I’ll be back in the afternoon. Also, don’t take naps with the kids.”

“…I get it.” She hung up and remained frozen in place, wondering if Anthony wanted her to reserve a place next to her in bed for him.

She would have waited with wings for him to be back in the past, yet her heart felt heavy at the moment because she learnt that Anthony did not care for her and had only married her because Bianca told him to do so.

‘Maybe he is just waiting for a chance to divorce me…”

She thought as tears welled in her eyes. ‘I love him so much. What would I have left if he divorces me…‘

“Mama, Mama! I took a lot of photos!” Chloe ran over excitedly.

“I caught a butterfly!” Charlie raised his hand, showing off the butterfly that he caught between two fingers.

Chris had caught one as well.

“I’m sending this to Papa!” Chloe picked up the phone to message Anthony.

Seeing how happy the children seemed, Anne suppressed all negative emotions she was feeling.

After playing in the garden and catching all the butterflies they could, she took the children back to their room for a nap.

The three did not hesitate to head toward the master bedroom and crawled onto the bed. “I want to sleep with Mama!”

“Me, too!”

“We woke up yesterday on our beds!” Chris said.

Anne did not have the heart to stop them.

‘Anthony won’t really get mad at them,‘ she thought. ‘He will only lose his temper when it comes down to Bianca.‘
