Ch. 981..985: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 981-985

Chapter 981

“Let’s go home for dinner,” Anthony said as he led Annę and the children into the car.

On the way home, Anne noticed that the triplets were oddly quiet as they leaned against her, as though they had done something wrong, but she did not have a clue on what happened.

“What’s wrong?” She asked.

The triplets shook their heads in unison.

Anthony stared at them pointedly and said, “They are probably tired!”

Charlie flushed and remained quiet, while the other two nodded in agreement.

Anne turned to study Anthony’s face and though he remained expressionless, something felt different.

They arrived at the Royal Mansion and the five headed into the dining hall to eat.

After dinner, Anne got up to use the bathroom and the triplets tried to follow her, when Anthony stopped them. “Stay right here.”

Anne turned around. She had been a lot slower since she lost her memories and asked, “Do you three want to use the bathroom as well?”

“They don’t,” Anthony said, “you should go ahead.”

Anne shot him a confused look, before heading into the bathroom.

Once the door was closed, Anthony’s shadow loomed over the trembling triplets.

“Papa…”

“Don’t try to make excuses,” Anthony said coldly.

The three pouted.

“The two of you, stand in the study room and reflect on your actions!” Anthony commanded Charlie and Chris.

“We…we didn’t do anything wrong!” Charlie protested .

“Have I not told you not to talk to Lucas Newman?” Anthony questioned sharply.

“Papa, we just ran into him by accident…” Chris explained.

“Does that mean you can go shopping and play with him? “Anthony asked, “Go ahead unless you want a beating!”

Charlie and Chris reluctantly turned and headed toward the study room, before slamming the door behind them furiously.

Needless to say, Charlie was the one who slammed the door.

‘That brat,‘ Anthony thought, ‘if I don’t keep him in check now, I won’t be able to control him in the future.‘

Chloe looked up at Anthony. “Papa, have you forgotten about me?”

“You are going back to your room. Shower and go to sleep.

“Okay…” Chloe headed for the stairs and climbed up, wondering why her punishment was different from her brothers.

Anne came out of the bathroom and noticed that Chloe was climbing up the stairs. “Where is Chloe going?”

“She’s tired and wants to sleep,” Anthony said.

Not seeing Charlie and Chris anywhere, Anne thought that they had returned to their room as well and said, “I’ll go back to my room, too.”

“Sure.”

She studied the dark look on his face in confusion, wondering if he was angry with something.

‘But why?‘ She thought. ‘Did the triplets do something?”

She went up the stairs and Anthony turned to head into the study room.

Once he opened the door, Charlie, who was on Anthony’s office chair, and Chris who was playing on the coffee table, immediately ran toward the corner, facing the wall.

Anthony shot the two a glare before walking over to stand behind them expressionlessly. “Come here.”

Thinking that they had been forgiven, Charlie and Chris turned around to look at Anthony.

Charlie was still slightly upset and was determined not to forgive Anthony even if Anthony apologized.

Anthony took out pieces of paper along with two pens from the drawers of his desk and picked a finance book from the shelf, before sitting down on the couch. He opened the book and commanded, “Copy.”

Charlie and Chris stared at the pages filled with words, their faces twisting in pain.

“What, you can’t?” Anthony asked.

Chapter 982

Provoked, Charlie clenched his fists. “Who said I can’t? We can do it!”

Chris gaped at him.

“Very well. Copy ten chapters,” Anthony commanded, before leaving the study room.

As soon as he left, Chris asked with resignation, “Why did you say we can? We only know simple words!”

“We just can!” Charlie grabbed the pen and started coping, but his words simply looked like mysterious symbols.

“That looks ugly!” Chris commented.

Back in the room, Anthony spotted Anne sitting by the bed, possibly day–dreaming since she had returned to the room..

“What’s on your mind?” Anthony stood before her, his towering height intimidating.

She stood and stared at him dazedly. “Are you angry?”

“Good of you to notice.”

She stilled slightly at his response in confusion. “Why? Is it because…of the principal?”

“What did he say to you?”

“…What are you scared of him telling me?” She summoned the courage to question.

Anthony scowled and stiffened.

She bit her lower lip. “He didn’t say much…I used to send my children to his school. That’s all.”

“Don’t get anywhere near him again,” Anthony commanded.

“Alright…I’ll go get a shower.” Anne turned and headed into the bathroom.

She did not have the courage to confront him, after all. She was aware of the power imbalance between her and Anthony and the fact that she did not matter much to Anthony, but only to the children.

Considering her position, she should be grateful that she was allowed to live peacefully in the Royal Mansion.

‘Why must I want more?‘ She thought. ‘Like asking him to fall in love with me…‘

What Lucas said was enough to point out the issue of her relationship with Anthony.

Anthony loved Bianca and was still seeing her, whereas Anne was more of a person who Anthony needed to look after the children, which was why Bianca continued to come between them even after they got married.

Feeling as though something was pressing against her chest, she struggled to breath.

Anne realized that she loved Anthony to the point that her heart ached with his every move.

The door to the bathroom opened and Anthony walked inside.

She turned around and saw Anthony setting her pajamas onto the cabinet, before removing his own clothes to join her in the shower.

‘Anthony does this with Bianca too, right?‘ She thought. Maybe their interactions are even more intimate than this. Am I just a liability to him?‘

She felt extremely insecure whenever she wondered how long such a sense of liability would last. She turned around and wrapped her arms around Anthony, closing her eyes and hoping that he would anchor her in all her troubles.

“Don’t you know that it’s dangerous for you to do this? Hm?” Anthony stroked her hair.

Anne tore her body away from his with a blush and turned around.

Anthony held her from behind, all the while trying to suppress his urges. “It’s not time yet.”

Anne was not trying to seduce him, but instantly felt rejected and depressed, so she remained quiet.

At night, Anthony got out of bed after Anne fell asleep and headed into the bedroom to check on Charlie and Chris.

Anthony stared at the ‘words‘ on the paper along with the drawings of two faces by the corner. “What is this?”

“It might look ugly, but we copied it seriously!” Charlie said.

“Yeah! We worked hard!” Chris desperately wanted to stop as his hands felt exhausted.

Anthony knew from the beginning that they were not capable of copying so many chapters and merely meant for this to be a punishment to warn them.

He tossed the papers onto the coffee table roughly before asking, “Will you go near Lucas Newman ever again?”

Chapter 983

“Papa, are you jealous? We won’t call him ‘Daddy‘ again, then!” Charlie promised.

“We know that you are our papa!” Chris added.

“You are not allowed to call him anything!” Anthony lectured darkly.

“You are not being reasonable!” Charlie protested angrily.

“Do you want to copy a few more chapters?” Anthony threatened.

Both Chris and Charlie were instantly terrified and shook their heads frantically. “No!”

“Go back to your room to sleep!”

The two hurried outside without hesitation.

Anne was not aware that her sons were punished, and neither did the triplets mention anything out of fear toward their father, not wanting to copy any more chapters.

Anthony had been busy in the next two days and Anne remained in the Royal Mansion most of the time without going anywhere else, not to mention reaching out to Lucas.

She had found peace in ignorance, but it still left a hole in her chest that haunted her.

Seeing how the children were enjoying themselves in their room, she returned to the living room. She sat on the couch and wanted to watch television, but happened upon an entertainment show interview Bianca.

Bianca stood by a piano elegantly as the reporters took photos of her.

“Ms. Faye, you are looking more and more gorgeous with every day. No one has seen a brighter star than you!”

“Not only do you have the looks, but you are incredibly talented as well. I heard that you will be playing in Athetin next week. Is that true?”

Bianca smiled enchantingly. “Haha, news travels fast, don’t they? I’m not sure about that yet!”

“Ms. Faye, is this a new piano? We heard that it costs a fortune!”

Bianca ran her fingers through the surface of the piano. ” Yes. It’s new.”

“Did someone buy it for you as a gift?” A reporter asked.

She grinned mysteriously. “I’ll leave that to your imagination.”

“Must be a gift! We heard that someone had bought you a piano before. Is this from your boyfriend?”

“Rumor has it that you are engaged. Is this from your fiance?”

The reporters were dedicated to learning any news of Bianca’s private life.

“Even if I tell you who he is, you don’t have the courage to publish it,” Bianca responded with a smile.

No one had expected such an answer and all the reporters were instantly rendered speechless.

Anne turned the television off. Feeling as though she had soaked her limbs in ice water, she stood up and walked outside, before stopping to stand in front of the fences.

The person who Bianca mentioned must have been Anthony, because the piano she stood next to on the television was the exact same one as the one Anne saw in the Royal Mansion.

Bianca and Anthony were once engaged…

She stood dazedly until she spotted a Rolls Loyce approaching from afar.

She watched as Anthony got out of the car and walked up the stairs steadily.

He ignored the children playing in the distance and stared at Anne intently. “Waiting for me?”

Anne lowered her gaze. “I was just standing here…”

He wrapped his arm around her slim waist forcefully, before pulling her closer. “Really?”

Blushing, she muttered, “Someone will see us…

“No one dares to.” He pressed his body against hers, before lowering his head to nibble on her lips, causing her to whimper.

Anne was flushing a bright red as she felt her heart racing.

“I’m going to Athetin tomorrow,” Anthony said.

She jolted in shock. “For…how long?”

Chapter 984

“Two days, at most.”

Anne pursed her lips and held her breath.

The next day, Anthony headed to Athetin in the morning while Anne remained in the Royal Mansion.

News of Bianca’s piano performance in Athetin had been announced the same afternoon and Bianca was spotted in hotel in Athetin.

Anne sat by the grass field with her children and started sobbing all of a sudden.

She lowered her head in an attempt to hide her tears from others‘ eyes.

‘Anthony is in Athetin, and so is Bianca,‘ she thought, ‘ are they together?‘

Every breath she drew through her quivering lips felt depressing. Through her tears, she saw the wedding band on her finger and the more she stared at it, the more it hurt.

At night, she laid alone in bed when her phone rang.

It was a call from Anthony, so she answered it and muttered, “Anthony…”

“Are you asleep?”

“Not yet…are you done with work?” Anne asked.

“Almost. I’ll go home tomorrow. Miss me?” Anthony asked in a husky voice.

Anne felt chills running down her spine and hummed in response.

Anthony fell into silence.

“Anthony…”

Before Anne could finish, Anthony interrupted her. Hang on. Something happened. I’ll call you back later.”

He then proceeded to hang up before Anne could respond.

Anne leaned on Anthony’s pillow with her phone in her hand. She waited for Anthony to call until late at night and soon drifted off to sleep.

It was a sleepless night for Anthony. He traveled from near the Noxus River to the city area, and by the time he arrived at the president suite, it was already seven in the morning.

He had not expected such a hectic schedule and took out his phone as he contemplated whether he should call Anne.

Ivan thought that Anthony was considering the matter concerning the search and said, “Mr. Marwood, why don’t we seek Corentin’s help on this? He’s more familiar with Athetin.”

East of the Noxus River was Athetin and Anthony had sent his men to look for Lilian after she fell into the river.

Someone down the river rescued an injured woman shortly after, but the woman disappeared by the time Anthony’s men hurried to the scene.

It was confirmed that Lilian was still alive.

Anthony had to admit that Lilian’s will to live was strong since she managed to survive through four gunshot wounds.

“We’ve searched for a day and a night, so Corentin must be aware of what we’ve doing by now,” Anthony said, ” Corentin is not as simple as he appears to be.”

“But he is Mrs. Marwood’s uncle, so he wouldn’t-” Before Ivan could finish, Anthony’s phone began to vibrate and Ivan instantly stopped talking.

Anthony answered the phone and Corentin’s voice came through the phone. “I heard that you are in Athetin? Why didn’t you tell me? I could have taken you around.”

“Let’s have lunch later, then?” Anthony asked.

“Sure. I’ll arrange it.”

After the simple exchange, the call ended.

“Was that Corentin?” Ivan asked.

“Yeah.”

“Do we need to send more men?”

“You will keep an eye on him,” Anthony said, hinting that there was no need to send more men.

Anthony and Corentin had only met in person briefly before and were hardly acquaintances. However, Corentin was Anne’s uncle and was actively working with Nigel’s company, so Anthony saw the need to know this man.

Corentin arranged the venue and reserved the entire restaurant, leaving no one in the hall apart from the waiters.

Chapter 985

The heads of two cities met and anyone who knew about it knew that a storm was ahead. Everyone wondered why they were meeting and whether there had been drastic changes in the market, since such a meeting had never taken place in the past, what others were not aware of was that it was a simple lunch.

Anthony arrived at the restaurant to find Corentin alone inside.

“Sorry I am late.” He sat down.

“It’s fine, I have just arrived myself as well,” Corentin said, “We’ve been saying that we should meet up for dinner since my visit to Luton. Who knew that our first meal together would be here in Athetin. I hope everything is satisfactory for you.”

“Of course. I was going to call you, but the news traveled faster than I did, I suppose.” Anthony remained composed.

“It’s hard for me not to notice after all the big movements you made.” Corentin’s lips curled into a faint smile. “Who are you looking for? Maybe I can help?”

The two were sharp enough to know better than to beat around the bushes.

“I’m looking for a woman by the name Lilian Smith. I shot her and she fell into the Noxus River. She was last seen here in Athetin but went missing afterward,” Anthony said.

“Sure. I will keep an eye out and find her,” Corentin said, before glancing at his watch, hinting that there was another person coming.

“I thought we were the only ones here,” Anthony said impatiently.

“You know her. Here she is,” Corentin said.

Anthony turned around and saw Bianca being led into the restaurant by the waiter, dressed in the most sophisticated dress.

“Bianca happens to be in Athetin at the same time as you. Consider this as just another friend joining.”

Bianca arrived by the table. “Uncle.” She turned to look at Anthony longingly. “Anthony.”

Anthony remained quiet with a cold look on his face.

Sensing his distant attitude, the smile on her face froze.

“Sit,” Corentin said.

Bianca sat down next to Anthony. The table was rectangular–shaped so she could either sit beside

Corentin or Anthony, and it did not seem out of line for her to sit down next to Anthony.

“Serve the food,” Corentin raised his arm and commanded the waiter.

Corentin seemed to be unaware that Bianca was not Nigel’s daughter by blood for him to invite her along.

Soon, countless dishes filled the table and the waiter immediately stood aside, remaining in a distance where the three would be able to see him.

“What kind of wine do you want?”

“I’m good. I will be returning to Luton after this,” Anthony said.

Bianca glanced at Anthony. Though she did not know why Anthony was in Luton, she assumed that it was for work.

“Sure. I will contact you if I find anything,” Corentin said, before turning to Bianca. “What about you?”

“I have a piano performance later at night. Anthony, Uncle, may I invite you to be my guests there?” Bianca asked.

She mentioned Corentin on purpose so that she would sound more natural.

Corentin remained quiet and did not respond.

“I’m busy,” Anthony refused.

Bianca’s expression darkened and decided to try another angle. “Anthony, how about this, bring Anne here.”

Anthony did not bother to respond as he did not intend on changing his mind.

Bianca realized that no matter how she phrased it, she would still be rejected.

“I’ll take Ashlynn to see your performance later,” Corentin said, easing the tension in the air.
