Ch. 1276..1280: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1276-1280

Chapter 1276

“I’ve never once said that Meredith was mine, nor have I announced that she’s my fiance. It was nothing but a feast. Did you take it seriously?” Corentin stared down at Beth.

Meredith’s face burnt with embarrassment as though she had been slapped in the face.

“Corentin, how could you say that? You came to dinner with me just to use me?” she asked.

Corentin remained quiet.

Meredith turned and stormed out while Aunt Cher hurried after her..

“Corentin, Ashlynn isn’t who she used to be. She is our adopted daughter and a part of our family right now. You have no right to take her,” Marshall said.

“You want to take her with you? Over my dead body!” Beth said fiercely.

The fear within Ashlynn transformed into pure disbelief as she wondered if Beth was doing such a thing for Meredith’s sake. After all, nothing good would happen to Meredith if Ashlynn agreed to leave with Corentin.

“Are you sure you are not leaving?” Corentin questioned darkly.

Her heart raced as she struggled to think. She did not want to return to Corentin’s side, and if it was possible, she never wanted to see him ever again, but she was not certain if hiding with the Hiltons would work forever.

‘Is this my chance of escaping his control?’ she thought.

“Don’t bother threatening her. Even if she wants to leave, I won’t let her,” Beth said.

“Very well.” He gave one final cold look to Ashlynn before turning to leave.

The two words he gritted out drained Ashlynn of all her strength.

As soon as Corentin left, Beth hurried up the stairs and broke down in tears once she was inside the bedroom.

Marshall went in after her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder to console her. He knew that it had been torture not to tell Ashlynn the truth and that the things that they had done to their daughter would haunt them forever.

“The gods showed mercy and sent my daughter back to me, and what have I done. with it? We can’t let her go back to Corentin. Not even if I die!” she wailed.

“Of course not. No one will hurt our baby ever again.”

Ashlynn remained standing dazedly until after Marshall and Beth returned to their room, unable to wrap her head around what had just happened.

Due to the Hiltons’ interference, Corentin had not been able to take her with him.

‘Does this mean that he won’t be able to do so from now on as well? No matter the reason, at the very least… I’m safe right now,’ she thought.

Jeremy tapped her on the forehead. “Well? I said I will protect you, didn’t I?”

Ashlynn covered her forehead with a pout before laughing. “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me. I am the one who should thank you!”

“Why?”

Jeremy wanted to thank her for staying alive and coming home to them but decided against it and instead said, “Come on, I’ll take you to your room.” Jeremy threw his arm around her shoulder and led her up the stairs.

Her room had been moved from the first floor to the second floor.

When Aunt Cher returned to the living room and saw the two heading up, her expression darkened.

‘This Ashlynn sure has tricks up her sleeves if she can get everyone to protect her. What happened? I see. It is probably because Jeremy likes her. What a wh*re!’ Aunt Cher thought.

Chapter 1277

Ashlynn was taken to the room and noticed that the interior was drastically different from the guest room. She did not know how much the interior cost, but it was decorated in a welcoming manner. The overall color of the room was a lavender tone, including the curtains, with crystals draping over it elegantly.

‘Is this really my room? If Jeremy didn’t take me here, I would have thought that this was Meredith’s room,’ she thought.

“Do you like it?” Jeremy asked.

“Why… did you guys give me this room?”

“We told you. You are a member of our family now. You will only be treated better than Meredith, not worse.”

“But why?”

Ashlynn knew just how much Beth hated her and everything that was happening was beyond her comprehension; she even felt as though they were plotting something.

“I’m the eldest son of my generation in the Hilton Family. What I say matters,” Jeremy said confidently.

Ashlynn doubted his words for a moment but accepted his explanation in the end, as the changes had indeed occurred after Jeremy talked to Beth and Marshall.

He patted her on the head. “I’m going.”

She bowed her head and watched as he walked out of the room, wondering why he had patted her on the head.

Jeremy, on the other hand, glanced at his hand and thought to himself, ‘Is she really my older sister or my younger sister? She just needs to be protected!’

Ashlynn walked around the room. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom were spacious, and there were even two shelves in the walk-in closet.

She moved all her belongings from the guest room, including the clothes and jewelry that Jeremy had bought for her earlier that day.

She had not worn any of them as she felt like she did not deserve them. When someone treated her with kindness unconditionally, she would often feel terrified.

‘Maybe it’s the result of being abused all my life…’ she thought to herself.

She sat down on the soft mattress and admired the room when her phone started ringing.

It was a notification of an unread text message.

She took out her phone and unlocked it before starting to tremble when she noticed that it was from Corentin.

‘Why would he text me at this time? Is it a threat?’ she thought.

No matter what he said, she was determined to stay here. The Hiltons had given her the hope she needed to survive.

She hesitated before opening the video that was attached to the message, all the while confused as to why he had sent her a video.

She played the video and saw a clip of her showering in the bathroom. The screen shifted shortly after to the intimate moments between her and Corentin from all angles on the bed and in the bathroom.

She stood abruptly and paled.

The sight overwhelmed her. Her chest heaved, and she immediately deleted the video before dialing Corentin’s number with a trembling hand.

He answered the call right away as though he had been waiting for her to call all along.

He remained quiet once the call was connected while Ashlynn panted frantically and questioned, “Corentin, when did you film those? You had cameras in your room?”

She recognized the room decoration and the bed from Corentin’s master bedroom.

“Do you like it?” Corentin asked in a husky voice.

“Corentin Lloyd!!” she screamed hysterically.

Chapter 1278

“Honey, don’t shout. I’m going deaf.”

She felt as though she was about to pass out. “You… Delete it… Delete all of it!”

“Do you think it’s possible? I have plenty of videos here. Say, if I send these to the Hiltons or play them on the big screen in the Lloyd Group’s building, wouldn’t that be fun?” he asked cheerfully.

Ashlynn was terrified because she knew that Corentin was capable of anything.

“Do you want to try me?”

“Don’t…” she muttered in a quivering voice. “You can’t do this, Corentin!”

“I want to see you right now. Don’t keep me waiting,” he said before hanging up.

She shivered as she stared at her phone, realizing that she had to return to Corentin’s side as she would rather die than have such a video publicized.

She tried her best to regain her composure. Her only chance was to appear before Corentin as soon as possible. Not daring to delay, Ashlynn opened the door and hurried down the stairs.

“Ashlynn, where are you going?”

She turned around and saw Marshall coming out of the room, realizing that her room was situated next to the master bedroom.

“What happened?” Marshall noticed the dark expression on her face and asked.

Marshall had never said a mean word to her, and Ashlynn had been grateful for it. “I… I’m going back. Thank you for letting me stay. I won’t overstay my welcome…”

“We wouldn’t have given you a room if we didn’t welcome you here. This is your home now, so where are you going? Ashlynn, you are a member of the Hilton Family now. No one can bully you anymore.”

Tears welled in her eyes at his gentle words. She did not want to leave as well, but she could not ignore the video she received from Corentin either.

“I’m sorry!” She bowed before turning to run.

“Ashlynn!” Marshall called out.

She ignored him and darted out of the living room, before running all the way out to the road outside.

She caught a taxi and told the driver to drive toward Corentin’s mansion. Once the car stopped, she got out and headed inside on her own, wishing that the road would never end when a monster like Corentin awaited her at the end of the path.

“Where’s Corentin?” Ashlynn asked the servant.

“Mr. Lloyd is by the alligator river.”

Her heart raced at the mention of the alligators as she wondered why Corentin was there.

From a distance, she saw Corentin standing by the cliff with his back facing her. She suppressed the fear that threatened to overwhelm her and walked closer.

“Corentin, delete the video.”

“Is that supposed to be an order?” He turned around and asked darkly.

“You are shameless for taking videos like that!” She retorted angrily, as she had never expected Corentin to be so ruthless.

He stared at her darkly. “Come closer.”

Not daring to approach, she panted and remained frozen in place.

He ran out of patience and darted up to grab her by the throat. “I said, come closer!”

“Ah!” she screamed.

“My words mean nothing to you now, do they? You sure are enjoying your time with Jeremy Hilton, huh?” he roared as he dragged Ashlynn over to the cliff.

“Ah!” She instinctively grabbed onto Corentin’s collar.

Chapter 1280

“You can’t answer?” He studied her face intently.

“I don’t know…” She looked away.

He took one step closer, his towering height looming over her. “Ashlynn, who taught you to lie to me?”

“I really don’t know.” She took a step back.

“You do know. You just don’t dare to explain because this has something to do with Jeremy.”

“Nothing happened between us,” she insisted.

He narrowed his eyes, realizing that Beth would not have been the one who threatened to come if it was indeed Jeremy who tried to help Ashlynn.

Cory had purposefully mentioned Beth’s name, so there might be more to the story. However, no matter the reason, Beth owed him his son’s life and must have a death wish to try taking Ashlynn away from him.

“Call Beth yourself.” Corentin walked right past her and said casually, “I won’t have to teach you what to say, will I?”

Once he walked past her, she sobered and said, “I can talk to Beth, but… you will have to delete the videos!”

“You are in no position to negotiate with me. Watch it, or I will publicize the videos.” He did not bother looking back.

Furious, Ashlynn felt as though she had been stripped naked on the street.

Once Corentin was gone, Ashlynn walked away from the cliff and sat down on a bench, all the while staring at her phone hesitantly. She did not know Beth’s number, so she could only call Jeremy; even if she did know Beth’s number, she would not dare to call Beth directly.

Just then, she received a call from an unknown number, and she answered, “Hello?”

“Ashlynn, where are you?”

Startled by Beth’s voice, she straightened her back. “L.. I am at Corentin’s mansion.”

“I will come and get you right away. Don’t be afraid,” Beth said.

Ashlynn could not understand Beth’s intention and said hesitantly, “Thank you, but I

plan on staying here and I won’t go back to your house.”

“Did Corentin threaten you?”

Beth had guessed right, but Ashlynn simply said, “No. I just want to live here.”

“Corentin has hurt you, so why would you stay with him? Haven’t you had enough?” Beth asked.

Ashlynn listened to Beth’s heated tone and froze, not knowing how to react.

“You can’t stay with him. Come back. We will protect you. You have nothing to fear,” Beth consoled.

Feeling increasingly confused, Ashlynn asked, “Auntie… Why… would you say that? I mean nothing to you.”

She began to suspect if Beth was truly going through such length for Meredith’s sake, but if she was not, Ashlynn could not imagine what could prompt Beth to act this way.

“I told you that you are my… adopted daughter. It’s not strange for me to protect you. The Hiltons stand with you, okay?” Beth’s heart ached at being called ‘Auntie’ by Ashlynn.

Ashlynn wanted to argue that Beth had only offered to adopt her to humiliate her but decided against it in the end.

“Thank you. I am willingly staying by Corentin’s side…” she said earnestly.
