Ch. 1171..1175: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1171-1175

Chapter 1171

Corentin had moved everything under the sun to this place, as though he was playing his role as the father.

Corentin had a meeting that afternoon and then left the company.

Jeremy also happened to be there to see Corentin for something about work. He placed his hands in the pocket, the documents in his armpit, and strode casually.

Just when he was about to knock on the door, Evan came by and said, “Mr. Hilton, the CEO went out.”

“He was also out when I was here yesterday. He seems busy lately?” Jeremy frowned.

“He is indeed busy.” Evan did not say much.

Jeremy raised his eyebrows, then walked away.

He saw a woman that made him feel troubled on the couch as soon as he entered the office. “To what do I owe the honor, Ms. Hilton?”

“I am your sister. Stop the nonsense,” Meredith said.

“I am busy. I don’t have time to chit–chat.” Jeremy sat on the couch. His long legs supported against the coffee table.

Meredith was not pleased to see his attitude.

She knew that no one at home could restrict him, and of course not her.

“I asked you to keep Ashlynn on the watch. What happened to that?”

Jeremy was uninterested. “What’s more to keep her on the watch? She is always at work. Right, she has been absent recently. I have not seen her in a few days. Corentin is busy too. I guess the two of them are always dating!”

He deliberately annoyed Meredith.

He knew that Meredith had a crush on Corentin, but she saw herself very highly as a rich girl, like she should, except that it attracted people who liked her only for her money. On the other hand, Corentin was not interested in putting in all the effort to impress her.

Meredith got hold of the point where Ashlynn had not turned up to work for a few days. She did not believe that she was always on a date with Corentin.

“Is she sacked?”

“It is better for you to ask Corentin about this.”

Meredith was irritated by his attitude. “Jeremy, you need to get this straight. We are family, and we are together through thick and thin. If I manage to marry Corentin, this will be good for both of us.”

“I guess you had mistaken it. It should be the Lloyd family that wants to marry the Hilton family. Is Ashlynn such a threat to you? Are you looking down upon yourself, or are you looking down upon our family?” Jeremy asked.

“The Hilton family has deep roots, but the Lloyd family has great powers. If we can collaborate, that would be a very powerful combination. I am the one who puts so much effort and attention into the family, and I don’t even know why I need a brother like you. Beware, if you ever annoy me, I will tell your mother about it!” Meredith stormed away angrily.

Jeremy rolled his eyes. His mother was very fond of Meredith solely because her first daughter, his actual sister, went missing.

He called Meredith from the back. “Are you really confident that Corentin would marry you?”

“Of course, you would not have the confidence, coward.” Meredith left.

Jeremy pouted, then tossed the peanuts into his mouth.

That was why he disliked Meredith, who was too arrogant for her own good.

She also thought he was useless.

Nevertheless, he actually knew something about the day that Ashlynn left the office. She was dragged away by Corentin, and Ashlynn did not look good back then.

Could they have quarreled?

After Meredith left the office, she went to see Cory Lloyd.

Her intention was obvious.

Ashlynn was taking a nap while Corentin was going through the documents on the bed.

He turned and saw Ashlynn, who was sleeping soundly. His eyes were filled with happiness.

In eight or nine months‘ time, the baby would be born.

When Salvatore was out there back then, he had never thought about starting his own family. After all, he did not have the capacity.

Before Ashlynn entered her adulthood, he was already in contact with various women. He even dated back to when he was around fifteen.

No gang member was exempted from engaging prostitutes and fighting.

His life plans back then were mostly to open a poker clubhouse.

One day, his head was broken by his alcoholic father with glass bottles, and he lay in a pool of blood in the back alley. That was when he met Ashlynn, and that was when his life began.

Everything has changed since then.

Chapter 1172

Too bad, Ashlynn betrayed him.

Now, he could consider letting Ashlynn get away with it, for the kid.

The phone on the nightstand lit up, but it did not buzz.

Corentin picked up the phone and saw the caller. Then he went out to answer the call.

“Come here for dinner,” Cory said on the phone.

Corentin hung up. He knew that it was more than a dinner.

He asked the servants to keep Ashlynn on the watch before he left and warned that they would all lose their lives if anything happened.

The servants naturally knew what to do.

The black Bintley was parked in front of the mansion, and the butler went forward to open the door for him.

He bowed and said, “Young Master, you are back. Elder Lloyd is in the study.”

He entered the study, and then tossed his coat onto the couch, and took a seat. What’s up?”

“Can’t I see you for no reason?” Cory took a sip of his tea.

Corentin’s long legs crossed. He was not having much patience to beat around the bush with Cory.

He then refused to say a word but only waited for him to tell him.

“Are you busy at work?” Cory asked.

“Socializing and networking, not that you don’t know of,” Corentin said casually while leaning against the wooden couch.”

“Why did I hear that Ashlynn had not been to the office in a few days? Did you quarrel?” Cory asked.

“We fought that woman. I have already thrown her out.”

“The pregnant woman is now history,” Cory said.

“We have moved on, but she has not. He will talk about her from time to time.”

“Is it because of something else?”

Corentin’s face was grim, and he looked at him. “What do you think it is? Is this not something that you want? I think it is perfectly normal for someone like me to be hiding a girl at my place?”

Cory did not want to have a row with Corentin.

Even if he did not see eye to eye with this son, this was the only son he had left with.

He figured that Corentin would not do something too out of the line either.

The butler, who was standing by the door watching, thought that his young master was a rather tough nut to crack as well.

“I thought you were preparing for the wedding date between the Lloyd family and the Hilton family!” Cory said.

“I told you, we will think about this later.” Corentin’s face was dark.

“You are not young anymore. You should get married now. Plus, just an engagement, not a wedding. The Hilton family has already expressed their stance, and we have to reciprocate as well. If you want to keep your Ashlynn safe in the house, you have to agree to it,” Cory said.

Corentin’s face turned even darker.

The atmosphere in the study was even tenser.

The butler thought this was the scariest that he had ever seen.

Cory asked, “I agree to keep your ex–wife, and you should at least listen to me, right? Don’t you forget who rescued you from the big old filthy drain?”

Corentin’s face was dark the whole time, but he did not say anything.

He did not say anything, did not mean that he agreed to Cory’s ‘grace‘. He had always been the one fighting for his own chances. He did not mention that because he did not want to burn the bridge.

After all, Ashlynn was pregnant now, and he could not afford any mistakes.

So, he did not want to make things worse with Cory.

“Then, you arrange for it,” Corentin agreed.

This caught Cory by surprise.

He did not expect it to be so easy.

Chapter 1173

“No problem with the engagement, but my condition is you don’t find Ashlynn anymore,” Corentin said sternly.

Cory nodded his head. “Sure, then I will arrange for it.”

“If I get engaged, will you invite your wife?” Corentin asked deliberately.

Cory did not look too pleased. “She is doing well in the mental hospital. There’s no need for that.”

Corentin finished the dinner and did not stay any longer but immediately left.

He left Cory alone at the dining table.

The butler went forward. “Elder, do you want some soup? I see that you did not have a single sip of it.”

“Do you think I have the appetite for it?” Cory placed his cutlery down.

“A man is looking for a woman, they are both consenting adults. There is nothing to worry about.” The butler consoled him.

Cory had never underestimated Ashlynn. “This woman is not the same. She is Salvatore’s ex–wife. She could send Salvatore to jail back then, so she must be ruthless. Now, Corentin is swooned on by her again…”

“Elder, please do not worry. Young master is not the same anymore. Plus, he already agreed to the engagement with Ms. Hilton, didn’t he? After the engagement, they will need to marry each other. It will be as you wish.”

Corentin agreeing to the engagement was a consolation to Cory.

As for Ashlynn, he needed to finish her sooner or later.

It was because of Ashlynn he did not agree to the marriage at first, but now he has changed his mind.

What more in the future?

If he did not give up completely on his past, how would he be able to move on to a better place?

A woman should never get in the way of a man’s success.

Ashlynn finished her dinner and walked around the mansion.

She was impressed by the picturesque scenery that would have cost hundreds of millions.

She also paid attention to whether there was any place where she could have escaped.

She did not see Corentin around after she woke up from the nap.

She was not in the mood to ask the servants either.

She would only have a chance to escape if Corentin was not around.

She took a look around and found there were only two maids and no one else.

So, just the two of them?

If that were the case, they would never be able to keep her on the watch.

Ashlynn did not want to spend any second more on this premises.

“Ms. Thompson, your phone call.” Just when she was zoning out in front of the pond, the maid came by with the phone.

Ashlynn received it, and it was already connected. The maid must have answered it without her permission.

She stuck the phone onto her ear and said, “What’s up?”

“Did you have dinner?”

“Yes.”

“Did you feel nauseated?”

“Not really. I only had a bit of food,” Ashlynn said.

“I will go over earlier tomorrow morning,” Corentin said.

“You go on with work, don’t worry about me. After all, the fetus is still quiet in the womb.”

“Stay in the mansion. Don’t you go around.”

“Got it. Did Elder Lloyd ask for you?” Ashlynn asked.

“You guessed it.”

“Other than Elder Lloyd, I guess you would not have entertained anyone else.” Ashlynn had a good understanding of the people around him.

Corentin laughed and said, “You are smart, Ash. Then try guessing, why did he look for me?”

“Because of me. You say there are his people in the mansion. I was not around for a few days or at the office. He must have asked you about me,” Ashlynn said.

“You are right.” Corentin was very fascinated by her intelligence.

Chapter 1174

“You won’t tell him that I’m pregnant,” Ashlynn said.

“I’ll just say that I’m keeping a lover somewhere.” Corentin leaned back on his chair and extended his legs. “He can’t interfere. Even if he finds out, he can’t do anything. I just don’t want to deal with the trouble of him knowing.”

“Get rid of this child, and all troubles will vanish with it.”

“I’d rather kill that old twat.”

Stunned by the violence in his words, she lost all interest in continuing the conversation. “I’m going back to my room to rest. Bye.”

She hung up, turning to glance at the fading sun before returning to her room.

She had always known that Corentin did not value family bonds, whether it was his adoptive parents or Cory, but was baffled by his insistence on keeping the child.

‘Does he even know how to raise a kid? He grew up in the slum as a loveless child…‘ she thought.

Ashlynn knew that Corentin would not come back and stayed put into exploring the mansion. Once she realized that there was no one else, she climbed down from the second floor under the moonlight on the third night when Corentin did not appear. Climbing was never difficult for her.

She made one final leap from the wall and was about to run when a strand of light flashed on her face. She covered her eyes, her heart racing.

“What are you doing up, Sis? Admiring the moon?”

She put her hand down and saw Owen walking over with two other men.

Instantly, she realized that she would not be able to escape. Though there was no one else inside the mansion, Corentin had clearly arranged for people to guard the premises, and as soon as she stepped outside, she would be caught.

The thought that Corentin would soon find out about her escape and her heart sank. Knowing that she could not admit to it, she narrowed her eyes sharply. “I’m admiring the moon. Is there a problem?”

Owen’s expression darkened. “Ashlynn, there are plenty of women who want to be with Corentin. You are taking him for granted.”

“You can take him if you want,” she retorted.

“Why you!” He clenched his fists at the urge to beat her like he had always wanted to.

“Want to beat me? Do it!” She stepped forward and tilted her face to the side.

Not daring to touch her, Owen took a step back reluctantly. “If it’s not for Corentin’s child in your belly, I’m definitely going to toss you into the river!”

She listened to his threat and immediately raised her hand to slap him across the face.

Snap!

Owen had not expected Ashlynn to raise her hand at him, and his face was instantly twisted with anger, but Ashlynn was hardly done. The frustration of being caught again boiled within her, and Owen came at the right time for her to vent her rage. She grabbed the flashlight in his hand and slammed him in the head with it.

“Ah!” Owen backed away with a hand over his head. Blood gushed down through the gaps between his fingers, and he was on the brink of bursting. “Ashlynn, I’m going to kill you!”

“Calm down, Owen!” One of the men behind him pulled him back. “She’s pregnant with Corentin’s baby. You can’t touch her.”

The sound of a car engine running approached and before long, the familiar Bently appeared before their sight.

Ashlynn’s blood ran cold at how quickly Corentin arrived.

Owen was outside the mansion and could not have possibly called Corentin when she came outside.

‘Why…‘ she thought helplessly.

A man went over to open the door, and Corentin stepped out of the car. He scanned Ashlynn and Owen’s bloody faces darkly. “What’s going on?”

“Corentin, she hit him.” Owen pointed at the bleeding wound on his forehead. “She tried to escape. I caught her, and she hit me. Corentin, how can you keep a woman like this around?”

Chapter 1175

“You’ve been mistaken. I came out here to admire the moon and was never going to run away,” she lied calmly.

“Quit the bullsh*t, Ashlynn. We are all here to guard the place! You could have admired the moon from inside the mansion!” Owen was a thug, and his pride meant everything. Not only was he slapped in the face, but he had also been treated like a fool and hit in the head.

“The moon looks different out here. Besides, he was rude to me, so what if I decided to teach him a lesson? Corentin, you can’t possibly ask me to accept being bullied by your men, can you?” she argued.

“Corentin, I didn’t…” Owen was about to argue, but Corentin interrupted him.

“Go get your wounds checked!”

Owen gritted his teeth furiously but knew that he would not be able to do anything to Ashlynn and left with the others.

Corentin turned to stare at Ashlynn like a monster lurking in the dark.

She kept her guilt at bay and said, “You can’t believe what he said, can you?”

“I don’t believe anything but my own eyes.”

Stunned, she thought to herself, ‘Eyes? Corentin saw me escape? Maybe he is just lying.‘

She panicked as he walked closer; she wondered what she had been missing.

“Curious?” He stood before her, his towering height kept the moon out of her sight, and her blood ran cold.

“I don’t know what you are talking about…” she persisted.

“I forgot to tell you that there are cameras in the mansion.”

Her expression darkened, and she thought to herself, ‘There are cameras all over the mansion? I didn’t see that coming. Doesn’t that mean that Corentin saw everything that I was doing?‘

Exposed of her lies, she backed away.

“Aren’t you going inside?” he asked, ignoring the anxious expression on her face.

She bit her lip and turned to go inside while Corentin followed closely behind.

The main door slowly closed behind them, and the two walked through the garden to get to the living room.

She instinctively looked around for the cameras but knew that they must be hidden so that she could not find them. As soon as Corentin told her about them, she felt as though countless eyes were watching her.

“Stop looking for them. You won’t be able to avoid them even if you know where they are.” Corentin saw right through her.

“You installed a lot of them?” she questioned coldly, as that was the only explanation as to why she would not be able to avoid them.

“Every corner.” He propped his hands on his hips as he studied her darkly. “Including the rooms and the bathrooms.”

“W… What? The bathrooms?” She gasped in disbelief and thought to herself, ‘Forget the rooms. How sick can this man be to install surveillance cameras in a place like a bathroom?‘

“Your every move is being watched. Don’t try to leave again, or I will know immediately.”

She walked up to him furiously. “I can ignore the rest, but no cameras in the bathroom.”

He narrowed his eyes evilly. “I’ve seen every inch of you, and I might just know your body better than yourself.”

“Even if that’s true, you can’t do this!”

“Don’t get mad. It’s bad for the baby.” Corentin did not intend on removing any of the surveillance cameras. “Alright, let’s go back to the room and rest.” he stormed up the stairs and darted into the ensuite bathroom to the master bedroom. She looked around, and when she failed to find anything, she closed the light and used the flashlight on her phone to search in the dark until she found a little red dot next to the mirror.

She opened the lights and spotted the camera hidden behind the mirror, which faced the entire bathroom. Anything done in the bathroom would be captured. She reached to tear it out but was stopped by a hand around her wrist.

“Corentin Lloyd!” she screamed.

“Even if you managed to get it out, I can still put that back in. Don’t waste your energy. If it weren’t for the cameras, I wouldn’t even know that you haven’t given up.

Is it really so torturing for you to bear my child?” he warned.

“No! It’s not just torture. It’s hell!” she resisted fearlessly.

His expression darkened as he dragged her back to the bed by the wrist. “Go to bed and sleep.”

“I’ve never wanted to bear your child. Not five years ago, not now!”

He grabbed her hair and pulled until she was forced to look up.

“Ah!”

“Are you giving birth? Huh?!” he gritted out.

“Umph! Ugh… Never! Corentin Lloyd, just kill me! Kill me!” She glared daggers at him.

He pulled her hair until the veins on the back of his hand began showing. His chest heaved as he stared at the determined look on Ashlynn’s face before shoving her aside.

“Ugh…” She stumbled backward and fell onto the bed.

“I’m going to take a shower. You are staying in bed until I come out!” He stormed into the bathroom.

The door was slammed shut.

Ashlynn exhaled through her quivering lips as tears filled her eyes, unable to calm herself as her head still ached from the assault earlier.

Corentin was a ruthless monster who was capable of anything in order to force her into giving birth.

‘What about me? Am I supposed to stay here for ten months? This is a prison!‘ she thought.

By the time Corentin came out of the shower, Ashlynn was already on the bed with her back facing his side. He lay down, knowing that Ashlynn could not possibly be asleep so quickly. Having calmed down, he turned and reached his arm over her body to hold her hand.

Indeed, Ashlynn was awake.

She could not fall asleep, no matter how late it was. She had just been told that the mansion was full of surveillance cameras, and she was not given any respect for her privacy, which would not happen even if one was in prison.

“Ashlynn, give birth to our baby. I will be good to you.”

Her heart did not waver as she thought, ‘What is it like for a monster to be good? No one would want to accept that.‘

“If I give birth, will you get rid of that river filled with crocodiles?” she asked emotionlessly.

“I’m keeping that.”

“What for?”

“It will be of use if you lose the baby.” He tightened his arm around her. “I’m glad that you are willing to give birth to it now. That way, the river is just nothing but a decoration at most.”
