Ch. 1096..1100: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1096-1100
Chapter 1096
The butler was stunned when he saw Corentin. “You are home so early, Mr. Lloyd.”
“Yeah.” Corentin went upstairs and into the bedroom, before entering the walk–in closet with a clear intention.
He stopped before the shelf and ran his hand on Ashlynn’s clothes, before finding something inside the pocket.
He took out the small jar of pills and his expression darkened as he read the indications on the jar. He narrowed his amber–colored eyes and tightened his grip on the jar until it shattered in his hand.
The lid flew off and a few of the pills fell onto the ground.
‘You sure are good at hiding this, my dear Ashlynn. Good for you!‘ He thought as he considered a hundred ways to make Ashlynn suffer for this.
In the end, he came up with an idea and exchanged all the pills inside the jar with vitamin, before placing it back into the pocket, knowing that he would be surprised with a child soon.
Vitamin looked similar to contraceptive pills and Ashlynn was completely unaware that she had been taking vitamin instead. She continued to take one pill behind Corentin’s back every time they were intimate and felt reassured by it.
After lunch, Anne stayed in the living room with her triplets.
Chris sat on the couch next to her with a laptop on his lap, its screen big enough to cover his entire face. Charlie was more active and was waving his toy knife and gun around, while Chloe sat next to Anne with a book in hand and read it aloud for Anne.
Mia brought some fruits over and placed them on the coffee table, before placing a few pieces on a smaller plate and handing it to Anne. “Mrs. Marwood, have some fruits.”
“I don’t want it,” Anne refused.
“Are you bored, Mrs. Marwood? Maybe you should take the triplets out for a walk,” Mia suggested.
Before Anne could respond, Charlie came over and said, “Mama, we can take you to get cake!”
“I like cake!”
“Mama likes cake!”
Anne chuckled, “I think you three are the ones who want to go out. Have you forgotten that you need to take your afternoon nap?”
“We want to buy cakes for you, Mama…” Chloe set her book down and threw herself into Anne’s arms.
Since there was nothing much to do, Anne agreed. The children used to go outside to play and ever since she had lost her eyesight, they had been forced to stay indoors.
The triplets were overjoyed and leaped around Anne, before taking her hand to lead the way.
The driver and nanny accompanied them to the cafe.
Anne and Anthony had brought the triplets to the same cafe before back when she could still see.
“Mama, take it slow. There are stairs, so follow us!” Charlie kept his hand on Anne.
Anne held Charlie’s hand with one hand, and held her cane with another.
Despite how tiny Charlie was, his presence was still reassuring and heart–warming.
Once they entered the cafe, the triplets did everything for Anne. They led Anne to a table to take her seat, Chloe stayed with Anne, while Charlie and Chris went to buy cakes and juice in an orderly fashion.
Other customers stared at the toddlers dazedly, all the while thinking, ‘What was I doing when I was their age? All I did was cry all day and pee my pants. Those two look like they are just two, yet they are doing what adults could do. How impressive!‘
Everyone had their eyes on Charlie and Chris when they took the cakes back to the table, all itching to help them with steadying the tray. However, the two seemed so focused that they unknowingly melted the hearts of many.
Charlie and Chris held one cake each and since they could not carry the rest, the waitress helped to carry everything else to the table.
*The waitress, too, was enticed by the triplets and distinctly remembered them as they had been in the cafe before.
‘It’s a good thing that scary man isn’t here, or we will have to clear the cafe again,’ the waitress thought.
Before long, Charlie took out a credit card from his bag and commanded, “Clear the cafe!”
“Huh?” The waitress gaped, while the other customers were at a loss.
Anne immediately stopped Charlie. “No, don’t listen to him!” For a moment, she could not help but feel defeated at how Charlie had taken after his father.
“Please enjoy your food, then!” The waitress said politely, before leaving.
Charlie placed a piece of cake in front of Anne and handed her a fork, while Chris placed a straw in the juice, before handing the glass to Anne. Chloe, on the other hand, scooped a spoonful of cake.
The other customers had not been able to take their eyes off the triplets ever since they entered and stared at Chole, wondering if their hearts would stop at the adorable scene of Chloe stuffing her mouth with cake.
Once Chloe successfully had a piece of the cake on the spoon, she moved it closer to Anne’s lips and said, “Mama, say ‘ah~“!”
All jaws dropped as they screamed internally, ‘Ahhh!!! She gave the first bite to her mom! So sweet! She’s an angel!!‘
Anne took a bite of the cake and said, “Hm. It’s strawberry–flavored. It tastes nice.
“Hehe!” Chloe was happy.
“You don’t have to feed me. I can eat on my own.” Anne did not want them to focus on feeding her and forget about themselves.
“Mama, try mine!” Charlie insisted on feeding Anne, followed by Chris.
Anne took a bite of each of their cakes and guessed the flavor. Once they finished the cakes and drinks, the four left, unaware of the eyes that followed them. After all, not all children could be as adorable and sweet as the triplets.
Once they were out of the cafe, Anne asked, “Shall we take a walk in the mall?”
“Yay!” The triplets were more than happy to spend time with their mother.
As the mall was not far away, there was no need for them to take the car, so the four walked over. Just as they arrived at the empty field in front of the mall, they heard a familiar voice.
“What a coincidence, Anne.” Bianca walked over.
“I thought you can’t see. Why are you at a mall?” Meredith was with Bianca as well.
Anne was shocked at the realization that Meredith was in Luton with Bianca.
“Is there a rule that people who can’t see cannot go to a mall?” Chloe argued innocently.
Meredith was instantly rendered speechless, not expecting someone so young to be so sharp.
“There are a lot of people inside the mall. You three are too small to protect your mom,” Bianca reminded.
“We can protect Mama!” Charlie protested.
Chapter 1097
Anne shielded her children and said, “Let’s go.”
“Anne, what’s the hurry- Ow!” Bianca wanted to stop Anne from leaving, but twisted her ankle and fell onto the ground, shouting, “Ow! My ankle!”
“Are you alright?” Meredith went to help her up.
“My ankle hurts. My bone might be broken. What should I do? Am I going to lose my leg?” Bianca wailed.
Anne scowled and thought to herself, ‘Can it be that bad? Are they really trying to scam us by faking an injury? We didn’t even touch her…‘
“Hey, isn’t that the piano goddess?”
“I think so. What is she doing here?”
“I think she hurt her ankle…”
“Is that Meredith Hilton next to her?”
“It really is her! Who knew we would meet celebrities like them here in a mall?”
The people in the mall instantly swarmed them as they tried to get a closer look; some even took out their phones to take photos of Bianca and Meredith.
Noises filled Anne’s ears from all directions and she realized that they had been surrounded by fans.
Her priority was her children and instantly tried to take the children away, but wherever she reached, there were people blocking the way.
“I’m sorry. Excuse me. Excuse me…” Anne shoved at them, but the fans ignored her and pressed even closer, throwing Anne and the children off their balance.
“Stop! There are children here! Move away!” Anne raised her voice.
Seeing that Anne was trying to escape, Bianca faced her fan with an enthusiastic smile and moved her foot quietly.
Anne backed away from being pushed by the crowd and tripped on something. Losing balance, she fell onto the ground, pulling Charlie down with her.
Anne could not be bothered with her own safety and reached out for Charlie.” Charlie, where are you? Charlie! Chloe! Chris…ah!”
Someone fell onto her, causing her body to slam against the ground.
“Get off…” Anne could not see anything and was increasingly nervous.
“Mama…Mama…” Chloe cried out.
“Mama is here, Chloe. Don’t be afraid…” Anne paled and gritted her teeth as she tried to push the person on top of her away.
Bianca spotted Anne struggling to get up and pushed another person closest to where Anne had fallen. The person she pushed fell backward and landed on the woman who fell onto Anne.
“Ah!” Anne felt as though all her organs were being smashed from the pressure of having two people on top of her.
“Get off! Stop crushing Mama!” Chloe went to push at the woman on Anne.
Chris went to help, but turned and found Charlie on the ground with blood on his forehead.
“Charlie!” Chris hurried over. “Charlie, wake up!”
“Papa!” Chloe burst into tears. “Papa!”
In the dark, Anne was overwhelmed by noises with Chloe crying and Chris shouting, and noticed that Charlie had not responded.
“No…” She muttered.
Bianca watched as Anne was rendered helpless and thought viciously, ‘Die! Die already! Stomp them to death! Die, Anne Vallios, and take your kids with you! That way, Anthony will be mine, and mine alone!‘
She turned around and spotted the bodyguards hurrying over and was instantly agitated at how swift they were.
Anne could not push the person on top of her away and sobbed frantically as she struggled to breath.
The person on her was trying to get up, but fell onto her again shortly after. Unable to move, Anne reached out as she tried to find her children.
Chapter 1098
‘Don’t let anything happen to my children…‘ Just as she prayed, she suddenly felt the weight on her lifted.
“Mrs. Marwood!”
The bodyguards that hurried over immediately surrounded Anne and the children and shielded them from the fans. As she was being pulled up from the ground, Anne recognized Ivan’s voice and grabbed onto his arm frantically. “Leave me. My kids… the kids…”
Ivan stood in front of Chris and Chloe protectively and lifted Charlie up, noticing that there was a bleeding wound on Charlie’s forehead.
He realized that the situation was worse than he had anticipated.
He turned around to find Bianca on the ground and Meredith surrounded by the crowd.
They had only been surrounded by the fans inside the mall, but even passers–by began to gather out of curiosity, even with all the bodyguards and nannies here to help, there were only six of them.
“Mama…” Chris and Chloe cowered in fear as they threw themselves into Anne’s arms. They were merely toddlers and had never seen such a chaotic scene.
Anne held them close. “It’s okay. It’s okay…where’s Charlie? Charlie?”
“Mama, Charlie is hurt…” Chloe sobbed.
“What…?” She let them go and reached out to find Charlie, before noticing that Charlie’s head felt wet. “What is this…” She placed her hand under her nose and instantly paled as tears fell down her cheeks.
“Blood… Ch–Charlie….h–hurry! Send him to the hospital…”
More and more people gathered around and forcing their way out might hurt Anne and the children. In the end, lan decisively took out his gun and shot three times in a row at the sky.
Startled, the excited crowd all fell to their knees, covering their ears as they tried to comprehend what had happened; none of them knew what they had done.
“Let’s go!” Ivan carried Charlie, while the other two bodyguards picked Chris and Chloe up.
The nanny took Anne’s hand as they ran out of the mall and got into the car, before hurrying toward the hospital.
Anne kept her hand on Charlie’s and mumbled in a quivering voice, “Charlie, it’s going to be fine. Mama is going to take you to the hospital. Don’t be afraid. It’s going to be fine…”
She desperately wished that she could see her son and hold him closer, but with her vision taken from her, she was rendered helpless and could only wait.
Chris and Chloe remained in their mother’s arms quietly with tears in their eyes, but did not dare to cry.
The car arrived at the hospital at the fastest speed possible and Charlie was hurried into the emergency room where Kathryn was already waiting.
Anne stood in the corridor with her hands on her two children, not daring to burst into tears as she did not want to scare them by making them think that Charlie was in critical condition.
“It’s okay. Charlie is going to be fine,” she mumbled. “Is Anthony here?”
Anthony had to be here for this.
“We’ve already informed Mr. Marwood and he is almost here,” Ivan said in all seriousness. “This is our mistake. We had not anticipated for something like that to happen within such a short period of time.”
Feeling like she was at the brink of a mental breakdown, Anne said to the nanny, Bring the children home.”
“Mama, we want to be here with Charlie!” Chloe held onto Anne’s hand, reluctant to leave.
Chapter 1099
Anne could sense Chris grip on her hand tightening and compromised. “Sure…”
Back when Chloe was sick, her brother had never left her side and since Charlie was injured, it was only natural that the other two would want to stay.
“Mr. Marwood is here!” Ivan said.
Anne turned her head. Though she could not see, she could hear the sound of Anthony’s leather shoes stepping onto the ground as they approached.
“I’m here.” Anthony walked up to Anne and stared at her intently.
The fear threatening to take over her heart faded slightly at the sound of his voice.
“Papa, Charlie got hurt here!” Chloe pointed at her forehead.
“There was so much blood!” Chris added.
Anthony patted them on the heads. “Papa is here. It’ll be fine.”
“Yeah. It will be fine!” The two children trusted their father.
“Take the kids to rest,” Anthony commanded.
“Papa, we want to wait for Charlie to come out!” Chloe requested.
“I know. There’s a room next to us. You can wait inside,” he said.
The nanny took the children to the private room to rest.
“If Charlie hurt his head, is he going to end up like me?” Anne panted as tears scrolled down her in the absence of her children.
“It won’t happen. You are scaring yourself.” He wiped away her tears. “Are you hurt anywhere?”
Anthony had already been informed on what happened from Ivan.
Anne shook her head and said, “No, just had people fall on me…” She could not sense any discomfort even if there was any as she could only think of Charlie. “As long as Charlie is fine, I’ll be fine.”
She could not imagine what would happen to her if Charlie was severely injured and she could not live with herself if that was the case.
Just the thought alone left Anne in tears. Tears welled in her eyes as she trembled and Anthony pulled her into his arms, muttering, “It’s going to be fine.”
If this was any other time, Anne would never allow herself to be held in such a manner, but she no longer had the ability to think of anything else.
All she could think of was that she wanted Charlie to be fine.
Half an hour later, the door to the emergency room opened.
Anne heard the sound of the door opening and wiggled out of Anthony’s embrace.” Is Charlie out? Charlie?”
“Don’t move.” Anthony grabbed her arm and pulled her back to stand by his side.
Kathryn walked over. “Mr. Marwood, Mrs. Marwood, don’t worry. It’s just an external injury. He did not suffer any brain damage so he will be fine once he wakes up.”
The tensed lines of Anthony’s features relaxed slightly; on the other hand, Anne had been so worried about Charlie that once she relaxed, she could not catch up with the waves of emotions she was feeling and collapsed.
“Anne!” Anthony immediately caught her.
Anne fainted and was carried into the emergency room for a body–check. Luckily, apart from the bruises on her abdomen from being stepped on, she had not suffered any internal injury and had simply lost consciousness due to shock.
Bianca had also been admitted into the same hospital and Meredith left.
Chapter 1100
Meredith decided to leave Bianca to handle the rest. Though Bianca had plotted this, she would have to pretend that she was injured as well to appear innocent.
‘I wonder what’s going on with Anne and triplets?‘ Bianca thought to herself. ‘The bodyguards showed up in time, but I saw that Charlie was injured. No matter the case, one down is better than nothing. I want Anne to suffer, as long as she is suffering, I will be happy!‘
The door flew open and slammed against the wall, startling Bianca.
Anthony stormed in fiercely and Bianca calmed herself before getting out of bed, all the while telling herself that Anthony must be in a horrible mood because of what happened to Charlie.
She walked over to Anthony and asked, “Anthony, how is Ch-”
Before she could finish, Anthony slapped her across the face.
“Ah!” Bianca fell onto the ground, seeing stars, blood dripped down the corner of her lips, which was proof of how merciless Anthony was.
She could not believe that Anthony had hit her.
Anthony suppressed his anger and gritted out, “What did you do?”
She looked up with her cheek swollen. “Anthony, how could you do this to me?”
“I asked you what you did?!” Anthony roared dangerously.
“I didn’t do anything! How am I supposed to know that the fans would swarm up at us like that? Meredith was there, too, and those people surrounded us like a bunch of uneducated cavemen. My
hand is injured as well…” Bianca showed him her bandage- wrapped hand. “You know how important my hand is to me!”
Anthony did not seem appeased by her explanation and continued to stare at her as though he was itching to tear her into pieces.
“Anthony, do you not trust me at all? It was out of my control! Are you trying to accuse me of manipulating my fans to attack Anne? That’s ridiculous! How would I know that Anne is at the mall? Are you saying that I have people following her?” Bianca stood and stared at Anthony in tears. “I did hurt Anne because of you in the past, but was that really so wrong of me? You were my fiance! Who could stay calm if they were in my shoes? I still resent Anne for it, but I know that I can get everything I want. Don’t you know me, Anthony? We’ve known each other for years! We’ve always been close and you hit me for Anne’s sake? I didn’t do anything wrong…” She said as she sobbed miserably.
Anthony did not waver at all and simply said coldly, “Bianca, you better hope that I don’t find out about what you did, or there will be no mercy for you!” With that, he turned and left without hesitation.
Bianca listened to his footsteps fading into the distance and was instantly consumed by the anger boiling within her. She grabbed the chair next to her and destroyed everything in sight.
“Why would you do this to me? Who does Anne think she is?! She’s just a homewrecker, and she is always going to be one! Anthony hit me for your sake! I will make you suffer for it!”
The nurse overheard the noises and hurried inside, only to be startled by the state of the room.
Bianca was not at all apologetic and simply said that she would pay for whatever she destroyed.
“How’s the boy in the emergency room? Did he die?”
“No. It’s just an external injury. He will be fine when he wakes up,” the nurse said.
Bianca froze at the realization that her plan had failed. Losing her temper, she shouted, “Get out! Get out!”
The nurse ran off.
Anthony returned to Anne’s room and though she was still unconscious and pale, she seemed to be fine.
Someone knocked on the door and Ivan walked inside. “Charlie is awake.“
