Ch. 1091..1095: Powerful Papa with Triplet Babies Chapter 1091-1095

Chapter 1091

“You are calling her wrong,” Corentin reminded the triplets.

“Oh. Great–Aunt,” Charlie corrected himself.

Back when Ashlynn was still working as Anne’s personal assistant, they had always called her ‘Big Sister‘.

Cory’s lips twitched at the way the triplets addressed Ashlynn and immediately changed the subject by commanding the butler to serve the dishes.

He had been tolerant of letting Corentin bring Ashlynn along, but that was when he did not know that Meredith was coming as well.

After the meal, Cory, Anthony and Corentin headed into the study room to discuss the future development of Athetin.

Anne, Ashlynn, Bianca and Meredith sat by the table to sip on their tea, while the triplets played near them.

“Anne, you can come to Ashlynn more often from now on. I can take you around. I know every place in Athetin,” Meredith offered.

“Thank you. I can’t see right now, so I don’t think I can go anywhere,” Anne said.

“After your eyes get better, then.” Meredith was reminded of something and asked, ” Ashlynn used to be your assistant, right? Who would have known that Corentin would take a liking to her? Other women could only dream of having that kind of luck.

Ashlynn could sense that Meredith was about to mock her again.

“Yeah. She was great at her job and I didn’t want to let her go, but my uncle liked her so much that there was nothing I could do,” Anne said.

The smile on Meredith’s face froze. “Is that so?”

“Does he really like her that much, or is a certain someone just that good at seducing men?” Bianca added, pointing the blame not only to Ashlynn, but also to Anne as she had always done.

“You mean how your mother cheated when she was married?” Ashlynn retorted.

“How dare you talk about my mom that way?” Bianca was instantly enraged.

“Those words aren’t mine. A simple search on the internet would say as much,” Ashlynn.

“Why you-”

Bianca was about to say something else when Anne interrupted her and said, ”

Ashlynn, why don’t you come take a walk with me. The doctor said that taking more walks would speed up my recovery.”

“Sure.”

Ashlynn helped Anne outside, leaving Bianca and Meredith behind with dark looks. on their faces.

After walking a distance, Ashlynn asked, “Do you need to rest?”

“I’m fine. I just didn’t want to sit with them. This was just an excuse to leave,” Anne said.

“I didn’t want to be with them either. Bianca never changes. What does she want?” Ashlynn asked.

“She and Anthony are deeply in love, so naturally she wants me out of the picture.” Anne stared ahead and listened to the sound of her triplets playing nearby. “What’s

with Meredith?”

“Elder Lloyd wants Corentin to marry her, but she doesn’t know that the real Corentin is dead,” Ashlynn explained. “I do wish that they would just get married, though. That way, I can leave. I didn’t want to come here today. You are already in Athetin anyway, so I could have just visited you later on instead of coming here, but Corentin forced me to come here. I suspect that he was the one who got words to Meredith to lure her here. I know Salvatore like the back of my hand.”

“And if that’s the kind of person he is, do you really think you can leave even if he

marries Meredith?”

Ashlynn froze and was instantly rendered speechless by her question.

“If you don’t know what to do, let’s just take one step at a time!” Anne muttered, ” There’s bound to be a way.”

Sensing the sorrow in her voice, Ashlynn asked, “Is it really that bad between Mr. Marwood and you? You have kids, unlike Corentin and I. We are tied in a knot that could only be untied if one of us snapped.”

“Do you know that Bianca was the one who killed my dad?”

“Bianca did that?” Ashlynn gaped.

“She admitted to it herself. I am certain that she did it, but Anthony is taking her side, like he always has.” Anne’s chest tightened in misery.

Chapter 1092

She had been the witness to Anthony’s relentless effort of protecting Bianca, and knew that if she moved against Bianca, Anthony would do anything to stop her.

“What now, then?” Ashlynn asked.

“I’ll have to find a way forward after I get my eyesight back.”

Ashlynn held her hand as they walked and realized that she had been wrong to think that Anne was in a better position than hers. Ashlynn did not have any children and could always leave whenever there was an opportunity. Whereas Anne had three children with Anthony, which meant that she had three reasons stopping her from leaving whenever she wanted.

The two strolled forward and were about to make a turn when they heard Bianca’s voice.

“Anthony, you told me that you are coming here with Anne, and I couldn’t help but come here as well. You won’t be mad at me, right?”

Ashlynn froze and thought, ‘Isn’t that Bianca’s voice? Why is she here with Anthony?‘

She turned to look at Anne worriedly.

Anne remained expressionless as she captured every word Bianca said,

remembering the words she heard from Bianca in Anthony’s office back when she

had lost her memories.

‘It’s not enough for her to do that trick once, and now she wants to do it again?‘ Anne thought and was about to walk over when she heard Anthony’s voice.

“I won’t.”

Anne instantly froze.

She could tell Anthony’s footsteps, not to mention his voice.

‘It really is him…‘ She thought.

“Good, then. I just didn’t want Anne to get mad. Anthony, I won’t come between you two. We can just meet in private and keep this a secret from her,” Bianca continued.

“Alright.”

Anne tightened her grip around her cane until her knuckles paled to suppress the bitterness that overwhelmed her, it almost felt as though there was an invisible hand gripping on her heart.

“Mama!” The triplets shouted in unison and hurried over, attaching themselves to her legs.

“Mama, why are you here? It took us some time to find you,” Chloe said.

Anne snapped out of the sorrow and forced a smile. “Are you having fun?”

“Yes!” They chirped.

“Good.”

Ashlynn noticed the blank expression on Anne’s pale face despite the fact that she was talking to the children. She had overheard Bianca’s conversation with Anthony as well and could not believe what she had just heard.

Anthony had stuck by Anne’s side ever since they landed, and it was hard to believe that he would turn around to say such a thing to another woman.

‘I suppose it’s not that weird!’ She thought, ‘Anthony Marwood is the king of Luton and what’s on his mind is never shown on his face.‘

Bianca darted away after hearing the triplets‘ voices and ran from the other side to avoid being seen with her phone in hand.

She had been alone all along, she had merely recorded and edited Anthony’s voice when she went to the Archduke Group a while back.

‘Anne Vallois, this is what I’m capable of!‘ She thought. ‘Just take the hint and get away from Anthony already!‘

Anne and Ashlynn sat down by the pond while the triplets looked into the pond and shouted, “We have Leopard coral trout, but they don’t have that here!”

“You bought it?” Ashlynn asked.

“Papa went fishing in the sea and caught it!” Chris said.

“It’s this big!” Chloe widened her eyes while opening her arms. “But Great–Uncle has alligators, so that’s cool!”

Chapter 1093

Ashlynn gaped. “Why did he tell you this?”

“Alligators? My uncle kept alligators as pets?” Anne was shocked.

“Mama, Great–Uncle told us that he has a lot of alligators and promised to take us to see them!” Charlie said excitedly.

“It–It’s not fun to look at,” Ashlynn said nervously.

“We love alligators!” Chris said.

Ashlynn did not want the children to see Corentin’s pets and when she saw the confused look on Anne’s face, she explained, “There’s a river behind Corentin’s mansion, where he keeps alligators…”

“I didn’t expect him to have such a hobby.” Anne was referring to Salvatore.

Ashlynn wanted to say that Salvatore was a twisted man who loved vicious

predators like himself, but as the children were still around, she decided not to say anything.

“We can’t see the alligators?”

“I want to see them!”

“They might look different from our books!”

Charlie and Chris were boys who were naturally drawn to adventures, but even Chloe was curious.

“What’s going on?” Anthony walked over.

Ashlynn turned and saw that Corentin was approaching as well. She thought back to the conversation between Bianca and Anthony earlier and glanced at Anne, but Anne remained calm.

Charlie hurried over to Anthony and looked up. “Papa, we want to see the alligators Great–Uncle keeps!” “There are a lot of them!” Chloe said.

Chris simply looked at his father with anticipation.

“I welcome them to,” Corentin said.

Anthony glanced at Anne, who had stayed quiet, and nodded. “Sure.”

Bianca came over. “Anthony, are you all going back now? I didn’t arrive at the same time as you guys, sol want to stay with Grandpa. Goodbye, darlings!”

“Who are you calling darlings?” Charlie retorted.

Bianca’s expression darkened as though she had been slapped in the face.

Anne did not hear any response from Anthony and was impressed by how great they were at acting like nothing happened.

Worried that Anthony would scold her children, she called out, “Charlie, come to Mama.”

“Okay!” Charlie ran back to Anne.

Anne patted. his head, determined to protect her children from anyone who might harm them, including Anthony.

‘Charlie was right. They have nothing to do with Bianca!’ She thought.

After saying goodbye to Cory, they left.

They would return to Luton directly after dropping by Corentin’s mansion.

Anne and Anthony left by helicopter while Corentin and Ashlynn left by car.

Once they were all gone, Cory went into the house and Bianca remained standing, gritting her teeth.

‘Those uneducated brats!‘ She thought. ‘If they were my children, they would have been raised to be so much better!‘

“There’s no point in just being angry.” Meredith walked over. “I don’t care about Ashlynn. Even with her out of the picture, Corentin will always see other women. Anne is different, though. She gave Anthony three children.”

“If it wasn’t for the triplets, she wouldn’t stand a chance,” Bianca said confidently, because her own mother got her father back using a child as a bargaining chip back then.

Anne was great at utilizing her advantages and it was hard to compete with three children.

“If they are in the way, just take them out!” Meredith said.

Bianca hesitated. “It’s not that easy. They are Anthony’s children and there are bodyguards guarding them.”

“I’m just giving you advice. Why don’t we go for a high–tea?” Meredith suggested.

Chapter 1094

“Sure,” Bianca agreed.

A friendship blossomed between Bianca and Meredith after they met their common enemies. Meredith hated Ashlynn and since Ashlynn was close with Anne, she

naturally needed to find an ally that hated Anne as well.

Upon arriving at Corentin’s mansion, the triplets got off the helicopter hurriedly to see the alligators.

Anthony turned to look at Anne. “Do you need to go to rest in a room?”

Anne could not see and there was not a point for her to go, but she still wanted to be with her children. “It’s fine. I’m not tired.”

Corentin led them over to the cliff when the servants happened to be throwing pieces of raw meat into the river.

The alligators had all climbed up the shore and there were over twenty of them, when Ashlynn had only seen four before.

“Wow! They really are alligators!”

“So many of them!”

“They can eat so much meat!” Chris said.

Anne heard the sound of chewing and asked, “are there a lot of them?”

“I count twenty–two.” Anthony glanced at the river.

Anne was shocked. She had thought that Corentin only kept two for fun and had not expected him to like them so much that he would keep so many; ordinary people would not love carnivores like alligators.

The triplets stood by the edge next to their parents gaping with their eyes widened in curiosity.

‘Those are much bigger than Leopard coral trout!‘ They thought. ‘Their mouths are so big! They can eat a lot of meat in one bite!‘

“Great–Uncle, do they only eat meat? They need to eat veggies too for a balanced meal,” Chloe said.

“They are carnivores and only eat meat,” Corentin explained.

“They can eat any type of meat?” Chloe asked.

“Yeah.”

Ashlynn listened to the conversation anxiously, worried that Corentin would tell the children that the alligators ate human flesh as well; for a man as evil as he was, it

would not be odd if he decided to mention this to the children.

“Let’s go,” Anthony said.

“No! I want to watch them!” Charlie had not had enough, and both Chris and Chloe turned to look at their father pleadingly.

“It’s been long enough.” Anthony checked the time on his watch.

“Not long enough!” Charlie protested.

“Be good!” He commanded and the children instantly cowered.

“Bad Papa! Bad Papa!” Charlie started yelling.

“Do you want me to toss you in there?” Anthony threatened.

Charlie instantly stopped crying in fear at how large the alligators‘ mouths were, but continued to pout.

“Come on, don’t cry. I’ll show you my dog!” Ashlynn took Charlie’s hand.

“Your dog?” Chloe asked.

“I know that she has a Teacup poodle!” Chris said.

“Doggie?” Charlie was instantly distracted.

“Yeah. It’s really tiny.”

“I want to see the doggie!” The triplets were distracted and were instantly in a hurry to see the dog.

Corentin left with them and as Anne walked forward with her cane in hand. When Anthony reached out to help her, she shoved his hand aside.

Chapter 1095

Anthony narrowed his eyes, before lifting her up forcefully.

“I can walk on my own!” Anne instinctively reached up to grab his shoulder, but continued to kick her feet in the air.

“You are going to fall,” he reminded.

Anne stilled, knowing that if she fell from the arms of someone with Anthony’s height, she would be in pain.

‘How can he be so horrible?‘ She thought. ‘He comforts me whenever necessary, then turns around to be all lovey–dovey with Bianca. I don’t want this! Every time he touches me, I feel like I can’t breathe!‘

They walked back to the mansion and when Anne heard her triplets‘ cheerful voices, she demanded darkly, “Let me down.”

Seeing the expression on her face, Anthony decided not to push her and set her down.

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Anne walked forward with the aid of her cane. It was flat ground so there was nothing in her way.

“Mama, this is Great–Aunt’s teacup dog. It’s so cute!” Chloe held the dog in her arms, amazed by how tiny it was.

Anne reached out and Chloe presented the dog to her mother’s touch.

“So tiny. It’s really cute,” she commented with a smile as though what happened earlier had not affected her at all.

The triplets had taken a liking to the dog and insisted on taking it with them on their afternoon nap.

When Ashlynn walked into the room to find three adorable children asleep on the bed with her dog beside them, she had come to take her dog away, but gave up eventually as she knew that the children would be happy to wake up to the dog next to them.

Anthony and Anne left after dinner. The triplets struggled as they parted with the dog and promised to visit again.

Ashlynn’s dog seemed to like them as well and ran after them, despite almost getting blown away by the helicopter.

Ashlynn hurried over to lift her dog up and waved at the helicopter.

The triplets pressed their chubby cheeks against the glass windows until everything. on the ground faded from their sights.

When Ashlynn woke up in the morning, Corentin was nowhere to be seen on the bed. and inside the room. She headed to the closer to retrieve the pills in the pocket of her coat and threw one pill into her mouth.

As soon as she swallowed it, Corentin appeared out of the blue and her heart

skipped a beat. She grabbed the clothes next to her smoothly and asked, “What are you doing here?”

There were two sides of the walk–in closet and this side contained only her clothes, so there was no reason why Corentin would be seen here.

“You are up early. Still have a lot of energy in you?” Corentin approached and pinned her against the closet door, with the coat she used to hide the pills right behind her.

Ashlynn’s heart threatened to leap out of her chest, so she shoved at him and said, ” You know that I don’t. Can you let go?”

“Let’s pick up where we left off last night, hm?” He pressed his lips onto hers and nibbled on her lower lips.

She moved closer as he pulled, horrified that he would break the skin of her lower lip. “Salvatore, that’s enough.”

He snorted and refused to let go. “It’s not like you don’t know how far I can go. Other women can only hope for this kind of treatment…”

Ashlynn looked away and thought, ‘As if I want this kind of treatment at all.‘

She shoved him away. “I’m getting out.” She walked to the entrance of the walk–in closet and turned around to find Corentin standing in the same spot facing her. She would not have cared if he was elsewhere, but as she could not risk having her secret exposed, she shot him a confused look. “What’s wrong? Aren’t you coming for breakfast?”

He narrowed his eyes mysteriously, before walking past her. “Of course, I’m coming.”

Ashlynn’s racing heartbeat eased slightly as she followed his steps.

Back in the office, Ashlynn was about to deliver the documents she received from Evan to Corentin, but no one responded when she knocked on the door.

She opened the door and realized that Corentin was not inside his office.

As an assistant, she had no right to question where he went, so she simply placed the documents on the table and left.

Meanwhile, Corentin was back in the mansion.
