He walked straight over to the head of the Gratton family. Old Mr. Gratton was a little younger than Old Mr. Francoeur and was still in good health. Dressed in a suit and tie that evening, he looked to be in his early sixties.

He was surrounded by several business tycoons from Donimingon. They were all much younger than him, yet they treated him with the utmost respect. The Gratton family held a status in Donimingon comparable to that of the Francoeur family.

The Gratton family was much larger. Old Mr. Gratton had three sons and two daughters, and his children had given him more than a dozen grandchildren. He was a happy old man, surrounded by children and grandchildren.

Old Mr. Francoeur had always envied his old friend the most. He envied that Old Mr. Gratton had a house full of children and grandchildren, while the Francoeur family had only ever had one son in each generation, and now only had one granddaughter.
