Liberty said, “Sonny, Mom’s not going to lecture you anymore. Just come home whenever you have time, but let me know in advance so I can arrange a blind date with that girl. Trust Mom’s judgment—she’s really a wonderful girl.”
Sonny replied, “Okay, Mom. You and Uncle Duncan should go out together. It’s been a long time since you’ve enjoyed a regular night out. You should visit the food street tonight. The atmosphere is always so lively.”
Back when they were in Havenmill, if they got off work a little early, Sonny and Titus would change out of their suits and sneak off to the night market for local snacks. The place was always packed with people and full of energy.
Liberty smiled. “You mean the food street, right? I know. I’ll go take a walk with your Uncle Duncan later and look around. I won’t eat any late-night snacks, though—I don’t want to gain weight.”
Duncan chimed in from the side, “You still think you’re going to gain weight? Ever since you came to Jensburg, you haven’t gained a single pound. No matter how many delicious meals I cook for you, it doesn’t make a difference.”
It was because of her overwhelming workload and constant pressure.
