You’re our child, Titus’s sister, our family. Yes, you’re Titus’s bodyguard and you protect him, but that doesn’t mean we see you as beneath us. Just treat us the way family should.”
Jennifer pressed her lips together before answering softly, “Master, the old master took me in and entrusted me with caring for the young master. From the day I came to his side, my responsibility has always been to protect him and look after him.
People may not use words like maid or servant anymore, but I am still the young master’s bodyguard and caretaker. Even though I grew up beside him, and even though all of you treat me with love and kindness, I can’t forget who I am.”
She was deeply grateful to the old master for saving her life, bringing her home, giving her food and shelter, and allowing her to study medicine and martial arts.
The young master treated her like a sister.
Her master and the entire Johnson family treated her like family too, but Jennifer never forgot her role. She was Titus’s bodyguard and caretaker. Her life’s purpose was to protect him and stay by his side.
