Around nine that evening, Belle left with Avah and Hendrix, riding back to the city in their car. Since they all had work the next day, staying overnight at FC Manor wasn’t practical. Waking up before dawn just to rush back into the city would be exhausting, so they preferred returning that same night, ensuring they could rest properly and start the next day without fatigue.
After the younger generation left, Jane mentioned to her husband that she and Lilian were planning a trip to Havenmill in X City to visit their adopted son, Titus.
“Lilian also wants to attend an auction in Annenburg,” Jane said with a light laugh. “If she spots antiques she likes, she’ll probably bring a few back for her collection.”
Even as she said it, Jane couldn’t help but smile. Lilian had already inherited a vast collection of antiques from her master, yet she still couldn’t resist adding more—clearly inheriting not just his treasures, but his passion for collecting.
Of course, most wealthy families owned antiques, but very few could rival the sheer scale and value of Lilian’s collection. Her personal collection was especially unique, filled with ancient medical texts and rare works on poisons. Her master, the old doctor, had been an avid collector, and every item he left behind carried significant value. Before his passing, he divided his estate into four portions.
The largest share went to Lilian, his only apprentice and, in many ways, his adopted daughter.
Titus and Fabian each received equal shares, reflecting how deeply the old man valued them both. In his eyes, his grand-disciple was no less important than his own grandson, and he treated them with equal affection and fairness.
