During dinner, Johnathan, trying to make up for things, kept piling food into Luis’ bowl.
Soon, Luis’ bowl was overflowing. Finally, he looked up and protested, “Dad, I can feed myself. I’m pretty good with chopsticks, you know. I can do it.”
Luis had always been independent. His aunt Jane often praised him, saying he was even better than his older brother, Enzo.
Johnathan chuckled. “What, you don’t like the food Dad picks up for you?”
“It’s not that,” Luis said seriously. “It’s just… you keep giving me food, and I can’t eat that fast. My bowl’s already full. If you want to help, you should wait until I’ve finished what’s in there first. And besides, you should give food to Mom too. We agreed we’d protect and love Mom together.”
Sariyah’s heart melted. She stroked her son’s head lovingly. “Our Luis really is such a thoughtful boy.”
Johnathan laughed. “Alright, Daddy’s fault. I’ll wait for you to finish before adding more. Take your time.”
