Persephone was taken aback, looking at the woman with doubt.

Meanwhile, Wynn appeared awkward, tilting his body as if dodging her.

“What’s wrong?” Persephone asked.

“She’s Shirley,” he said softly. “She’s with Kourtney.”

Persephone thought fast, connecting that with his past, and roughly guessed the grudge between them.

There were many nightclubs on the street, and Kourtney was a powerful madam. She certainly had many “generals” under her wing. Shirley seemed to be one of them.
