“You are… you are shameless,” I mumbled, narrowing my eyes at the clear amusement he was taking in my misery.

“If anyone else had said that,” he growled, his voice carrying the unmistakable authority of an alpha, “they would’ve been dead by now.” His tone softened just slightly, though his gaze remained intense. “Only you can say such disrespectful words to me and get away with it.
