Always Been Yours Chapter 1251--Nicholas lectured Tessa while massaging her body. Knowing that he was worried for her, she nodded with a smile. “Don’t worry. I know my limits. If I can’t go on, I’ll take a rest.”
He cherished her more when he saw how persistent she was. Gregory also added, “Mommy, you need to take care of yourself. Or else, Daddy and I will worry.”

The couple let out a sigh of relief. That is good news as long as the baby’s getting there! They exchanged smiles. Gregory, who was leaning against his mother, looked confused by the adults’ conversation. “Doctor, is Mommy safe now?”
The child knew nothing about fetal malposition, but he was sensitive toward any discussion around the topic. When he sensed that everyone was tiptoeing around his mother, he picked up fast and realized that his mother might risk her life giving birth to his baby sister.
The doctor was amazed at the level of concern that Gregory showed for his mother. He rarely met him in person, but Gregory always behaved very well during the consultations, which was rare for a kid of his age.

“I want spaghetti.” Gregory blinked at her adorably. She fell in love with his cuteness and beamed. “Sure, let’s have spaghetti and go shopping for the baby.”
Nicholas agreed to it because she was in high spirits, and the family walked out of the hospital. At the entrance, he reminded Tessa, “Wait for me here. I’ll drive the car from the parking lot, and we’ll go for lunch.”
“Okay. Greg and I will be here.” She nodded with a smile and waved at him.
He could not resist giving his demure wife a peck on the forehead. Her smile widened after his kiss. Then, he turned to Gregory and reminded the kid, ‘Look after Mommy. I’ll be back soon.”
“Daddy, you talk too much. Get the car. Mommy will be tired from all the standing.” Gregory pouted and urged his father to leave.
Always Been Yours Chapter 1252--Tessa chuckled. Nicholas headed to the basement parking lot with an affectionate smile. Now that his father had left, Gregory happily took Tessa’s hand and fretted over her. “Are you tired, Mommy?”
“I’m not tired.” Tessa shook her head with a smile. Gregory continued, “Then, are you thirsty? I’ll give you some water.”
He took off the little water bottle he had on him. Tessa’s eyes glinted mischievously as she watched Gregory doing his best to take care of her.
“You can drink the water, sweetheart. Mommy’s not thirsty,” she said as she pushed the bottle. toward Gregory. Gregory lowered his head despondently.
Tessa burst out in laughter when she saw his reaction. She had figured out what he was up to earlier. He was probably jealous after seeing Nicholas kissing her.
Thus, she bent down and cupped his cheeks to kiss him. “You’re such a good boy, sweetheart.” Gregory was startled but he soon started grinning. “You’re the best too, Mommy.”
He tiptoed and kissed Tessa’s cheek as well. The mother-and-son duo was full of smiles and laughter as they waited by the hospital entrance.
Just then, Tessa’s phone started ringing with a call from Timothy. He knew that Tessa had a check-up at the hospital today and was worried about how it went.
“What did the doctor say? Is the baby in the right position?” “Almost. The doctor says it’ll just take a little. longer, but it should be corrected when it’s time to give birth.”
Tessa smiled as she relayed the good news. Timothy sighed in relief. “Thank goodness the baby’s position can be corrected.”
While the two siblings were talking, a silver van nearby suddenly lost control and came barreling toward the hospital entrance. Tessa didn’t notice anything, but Gregory realized that something was wrong.
His eyed widened with fear when he saw the van hurtling straight at them, and he shrieked at once. “Watch out, Mommy!”

Tessa was curled up on the ground as the agonizing pain that came from her abdomen racked through her entire body. It was so painful that her mind went blank. She was as white as a sheet.
Blood kept gushing out from her, and soon, the ground was covered in red. Nicholas had just brought the car around when he witnessed this scene. His heart stopped beating for a moment.

Nicholas heard the ongoing discussion. His blood turned cold and his footsteps grew heavier as his hands trembled violently. Gregory was sitting on the side of the road, frozen in fear.

Blood continued flowing out of Tessa’s body. It left a long trail on the ground. Inside the hospital, the nurses were shocked when they saw Tessa who was covered in blood.
They swiftly wheeled a stretcher over to Nicholas. ‘Quick, put the patient down.” Nicholas dared not waste even a single moment as he quickly set her down.
Once he did, the nurses immediately wheeled Tessa into the surgical theater. “Out of the way! Step out of the way, please!” Two nurses cleared the path in front.
Nicholas followed closely behind. His hands were clenching the sides of the stretcher so hard that his veins were popping. No words could describe the anxiety he felt.
“Hang in there, Tessa! Hang in there!”
He bent down and cried out to her. His voice was filled with terror. Gregory ran after the stretcher as well. He was ashen-faced and looked altogether pitiful..
Once they arrived at the surgical theater, the nurses wheeled Tessa in but stopped Nicholas from entering. “You can’t proceed any further, sir.”
Nicholas wanted to go in, but whatever sense he had left was enough for him to know that he couldn’t make a scene right now, or he might end up delaying Tessa’s treatment.
Thus, he grabbed the nurse by the collar and declared menacingly, “I’m ordering you to save her no matter what you have to do! I won’t let anything happen to her!”
Out in the corridor, Nicholas stood right by the entrance to the surgical theater. He was still caked in blood and had a frantic expression that had never been seen on him before. His hands kept trembling.
Gregory stood beside Nicholas. He was shaking too and his eyes were slightly glazed over as he was still in shock. Neither one of them spoke as they kept their eyes fixed on the surgical theater.
Meanwhile, inside the surgical theater, the doctors and nurses were fervently trying to save Tessa. “The anesthesia has taken effect. We need to stop the bleeding.” “The patient’s heartbeat is slowing down…”
“The blood won’t stop flowing. The baby could be in danger. We need to do a C-section!” “Inform the next of kin at once and prepare for the C-section.”
The attending surgeon immediately made the call. The nurse nodded and hurried out of the surgical theater with the doctor.

“Uncle Tim…” he called out weakly. His voice was laced with fear and uncertainty. It escaped Timothy’s notice as Tessa was all he could think of at the moment.
He tightened his grip on Gregory’s shoulder as he pressed, “Gregory, quick. Tell me what happened to your mother and the baby!”
Timothy’s words seemed to snap Gregory out of his daze as the latter started wailing. He flung himself into Timothy’s arms and cried his heart out.
“Mommy was bleeding so much, Uncle Tim. I kept calling her. She didn’t respond to me. So much blood.” Gregory was so terrified, his voice trembled with each word. He could barely speak coherently.
Timothy was beside himself with worry, but he told himself to stay strong as he comforted Gregory. ‘It’s okay, Gregory. Don’t cry. Your Mommy will be fine.”
“But the doctor said Mommy might die.” Gregory repeated what the doctor said earlier. Color drained from Timothy’s face when he heard this. “How could this happen?” he gasped in shock.
Sabrina arrived just in time to hear what Gregory said. Her heart ached for Timothy who crumbled upon hearing the news.
“You need to stay calm, Mr. Reinhart. Tess is a blessed person. I’m sure she’ll be fine.” “That’s my sister in there! How am I supposed to stay calm?”
Timothy vented at Sabrina with reddened eyes. Sabrina didn’t take offense as she knew how distressed Timothy was right now.
She knew he was only reacting this way because he was concerned about his sister.

“She will. Your Mommy wouldn’t dream of leaving an adorable boy like you.”
Sabrina nodded confidently, but deep down inside, she fervently hoped that Tessa would bet alright. As Sabrina was busy comforting Gregory, Stefania and Tobias appeared at the end of the corridor.
They rushed over as soon as they heard that Tessa got into an accident. Both their expressions were grim. Stefania hurried over to Nicholas with her anxiety fully displayed on her face..

It was as if Nicholas’ anger had taken a physical form. Kieran could tell that the doctor and the other medical staff nearby, including the nurses and specialists, were terrified.
To prevent Nicholas from scaring them silly, Kieran knocked him out with a heavy blow. “Kieran! Why did you do that?” Stefania exclaimed when Nicholas fell unconscious.
Kieran hauled Nicholas up as he explained, “Nicholas would’ve lost control of himself if we let him carry on like that.”
Then, he turned to the petrified medical staff and yelled, “Why are you still standing around? Hurry and save my sister-in-law! If anything happens to her, I can guarantee that you won’t be able to survive my brother’s wrath.”
The doctors and nurses immediately hurried back into the surgical theater. The doors closed once more, and Kieran exhaled before moving Nicholas to a ward.
Nevertheless, Nicholas wasn’t out for very long. He woke up again in just two hours. The first thing he did was did a kip-up off the bed.
Kieran was startled. He swiftly backed away as he hurriedly exclaimed, “Don’t take it out on me, Nicholas. I only knocked you out for your own good. If you flew off the handle and scared all the doctors and nurses silly, then no one would be available to save Tessa.”
He eyed Nicholas furtively. Nicholas didn’t bother with Kieran at all. He strode out of the ward at once and rushed back to the surgical theater.
Once he got there, he quickly asked, “How’s Tessa? Did the doctors say anything when I was gone?” “Tessa’s still inside. No one came out yet.” Stefania answered truthfully as she knew her son was deeply worried.
Still, she couldn’t help adding, “You need to stay calm. Don’t let your nerves get to you. All we can do now is wait until Tessa comes out.” Nicholas clenched his fists.
He knew his mother was right, but he couldn’t calm himself down when Tessa was still fighting for her life. Stefania noticed this as well, so she said, “Why don’t you go and take a look at the newborn baby? None of us have seen him yet. We don’t know what he looks like!”
“I’m not leaving. I’m going to stay here until Tessa comes out.” Nicholas shook his head to reject Stefania’s suggestion. He kept his gaze trained on the surgical theater.
Stefania wanted to try and advise him otherwise, but her husband stopped her “Just let him stay here,” Tobias said quietly. “He’ll feel better if he’s here.”
Stefania seemed to have thought of something as she nodded and didn’t say anything else, but she was shaken. It was her first time seeing just how deeply in love her son was. The surgery went on. It was already dark outside.
At last, after five or six hours, the surgery was finally over The medical team came out of the surgical theater looking exhausted. Everyone got to their feet and rushed over when they heard the commotion.
“How’s my wife, doctor?” Nicholas was the first to ask anxiously.
Always Been Yours Chapter 1259--“Is my sister out of danger now?” Timothy asked The doctor was visibly relieved as he announced, “The patient’s condition is stable now, but she is still weak and will need to be kept in the ICU for observation.”
“Thank goodness! She’s alright,” Stefania exclaimed in relief. Her heart finally settled back in place. “However, even though her condition is stable, she was injured in the crash and her fibula was broken. It will take at least six months before she fully recovers,” the doctor continued reporting.
“That’s not a problem. As long as she’s still alive, then everything will be fine,” Nicholas declared hoarsely as his emotions poured out of him.
Tears streamed down his face. Everyone was stunned to see this. Stefania, Tobias, and Kieran were the most shocked. It was their first time seeing him cry.
Stefania and Tobias exchanged looks. They had a newfound understanding as to how deeply Nicholas loved Tessa. Now that everyone knew Tessa was safe, they all started shedding tears of joy. Timothy was the most emotional.
He wanted to share the joy he felt with someone else, so he grabbed the person who was beside him without even checking to see who it was. “Tessa’s going to be alright!” he exclaimed happily. “She’s going to be fine…”
Sabrina was dumbstruck when she was pulled into an embrace that she had yearned for all this while. She looked up at Timothy who had a silly grin on his face and smiled.
“I told you, didn’t I? Tess is a blessed person. She’ll definitely be fine.” She hugged Timothy and smiled as she was truly glad that Tessa’s life was no longer in danger. Timothy nodded fervently.
Gregory saw that everyone else was celebrating the good news, but he was a little lost himself, so he tugged on Kieran’s arm and asked, “Uncle Kieran, is my Mommy okay now?”
“That’s right. Your Mommy’s okay for now. Do you feel better now, Gregory?”
Kieran crouched down and asked gently
Gregory was still a little pale from the shocking
experience.
However, he was nodding excitedly as he said,
“I am! I hope Mommy will be fine.”
“She will. Your Mommy will be alright.”
Kieran’s heart ached as he hugged the little boy.
He knew that Gregory must have been terrified
by everything that happened in the day.
After celebrating the happy news, everyone gradually calmed down again.
Tobias was solemn and authoritative as he commanded the medical staff, “Since her condition is stable now, I hope nothing unexpected happens again. You must ensure that my daughter-in-law fully recovers from this.”
“We will give the patient the best care possible, Chairman Sawyer.”
The doctors and specialists didn’t dare to make any promises, so they simply promised to do their best.
Naturally, this did not escape Tobias’ notice. His expression turned grim as he sternly declared, “I don’t want you to do your best.
I want you to make sure it happens. You must remain in the ICU until my daughter-in-law is fully recovered.” His imposing aura seemed to have struck fear into the medical staff as they quickly nodded and replied in the affirmative.
Just then, Nicholas said in a hoarse voice, “Can I go in and see my wife?” The doctor nodded. “You can, but only one person is allowed to go in, and you can only see her for five minutes.”
“Only one person? And only for five minutes? That’s not enough,” Kieran said discontentedly. Timothy hadn’t said anything, but Kieran knew that Timothy would want to see Tessa too.
Nicholas thought of this as well and frowned. “Can two people go in instead, and can we have a little more time?” “I’m afraid not. Every additional visitor increases the risks to the patient.”
The doctor shook his head and explained, “Although you will put on a surgical gown before going in, there are openings in the ventilator and other medical equipment in there.
Right now, the patient’s immune system is at its weakest, so it’s easy for her to get an infection. Even the doctors and nurses have to go through a decontamination process before we can make contact with the patient.”
Always Been Yours Chapter 1260--After hearing what the doctor said, Kieran gave up on using the family’s status to ask for special treatment. He glanced at Nicholas and Timothy before advising, “For the sake of Tessa’s safety, why don’t you two discuss and see who’ll go in to see her?”
Nicholas and Timothy looked at each other. In the end, it was Timothy who compromised and gave the spot to Nicholas, who put on a surgical gown before entering Tessa’s room in the ICU.
Tessa looked frail as she lay on the hospital bed. There were several tubes stuck to her and her face was ghostly pale. She looked like a fragile doll.
Nicholas felt as if someone had stabbed him with a knife. His mind was filled with self-blame and regret.
“I’m sorry. I failed to protect you.” He kneeled beside the bed and gently brought Tessa’s hand to his face. “Get better soon, okay? The baby and I are waiting for you.”
“You’ve been so curious to know whom the baby takes after, right? You can find out just as soon as you wake up.” “I’ll keep waiting for you, no matter how long it takes.
There was so much Nicholas wanted to say, but he only had five minutes which was soon over. His eyes were red as he walked back out. Timothy quickly asked, “How’s my sister, Nicholas?”
“She’s still unconscious, but based on the readings on the machines, her condition is stable,” Nicholas replied. Timothy exhaled in relief. “Everything will be fine since her condition’s stable. Now, we just need to wait for her to wake up.”
Nicholas nodded lightly. He had finally regained his cool, and before anyone else could react, he started giving off an almost bloodthirsty air. He looked at his parents and said grimly, “I’ll leave you in charge of the children.”
Then, he turned to Timothy and said solemnly, “When I’m not around, help me take good care of your sister. Call me at once if anything happens to her.”
“What are you going to do?”
Timothy frowned as he stared at Nicholas in puzzlement.
He had no idea what could be more important than Tessa now.
Stefania was also confused. “Where are you going, Nicholas? Aren’t you staying here to look after Tessa and the baby?” Nicholas walked off without responding to either one of them.
“What’s up with him?” Stefania grumbled. “He nearly went mad when the doctors were still trying to save her, and now that she’s alright, he’s not even sticking around to look after her.”
“I think he went to look for Edward.” Tobias looked on as Nicholas left. He had a perceptive look in his eyes. Stefania was startled. She didn’t pick up on what was happening yet. ‘Did something happen at the company?”
However, she refuted herself immediately after asking that question. Knowing what Nicholas was like, he wouldn’t leave Tessa’s side even if the company was on the verge of bankruptcy.
Timothy had a vague idea as to what Nicholas was up to, but he wasn’t sure, so he looked at Tobias for confirmation.
Fortunately, Tobias didn’t keep them waiting as he filled them in. “Edward called me just now and said they’ve located the driver who caused the crash. They’re at an empty warehouse just outside the city now. I think Nicholas left because he heard the news too.”
Stefania instantly began worrying again. Her worries doubled when she recalled Nicholas’ bloodthirsty air earlier. “Go after your brother at once, Kieran! Don’t let him do anything rash!”
She quickly urged Kieran to chase Nicholas down as she was afraid Nicholas might do something extreme. True enough, Nicholas left because Edward had informed him that they found the perpetrator.
The text was the spark that set Nicholas’ fury alight. As he made his way over, his expression was grim and icy the whole time, but his eyes were aflame with rage. Half an hour later, he arrived at the warehouse.
