Elena had asked them to come. After all, they were Nicholas’ brother and sister- in-law, so they should visit him since he was hospitalized.

Nathaniel walked straight to the bed. Looking at the emaciated, pale Nicholas, he spoke slowly. “You deserve it for mistreating your own body.”

Nicholas pursed his lips. “It’s none of your business.”

Nathaniel naturally wouldn’t mind his business. “Don’t worry. Ceci and I are only here to see if you’re alive or not. We have no other intentions, and we certainly won’t meddle in your affairs.”

When Elena heard their conversation, she immediately tugged on Nathaniel’s clothes, signaling him to stop speaking callously and upsetting Nicholas.
