Chapter 2004

Eloise was once just as arrogant as she was now full of regret. She tried asking around, but still couldn’t find a way to reach Cecilia.

“Do I really have to go to her house?”

The thought embarrassed her, but the idea of losing over five million was even worse. Plus, the pressure from her husband and mother-in-law left her no choice.

Late that night, Eloise drove over to the Smith residence. The lights were on, but when she asked, she found out Cecilia wasn’t home.

“Do you know where she went?” she asked more gently this time. The pride she’d carried earlier was nowhere to be found.

“You didn’t know? Our boss spends almost every night at the hospital, taking care of her mother,” the security guard answered kindly.

“Oh. Which hospital?”
