Job Hunting
In the blink of an eye, two days had passed.
Magnus’s body had mostly recovered, and Denise’s sympathy had run its course. At seven o’clock sharp, she stood by his makeshift bed and nudged him.
“Get up. Time to look for a job.”
Magnus groaned, burying his face in the blanket. “What’s the rush? Let me sleep a little longer.”
Annoyed at the sight of him still lounging around, Denise said nothing. She simply bent down, grabbed the blanket, and yanked it off with one swift pull.
A wave of cold air hit him, and Magnus curled up instinctively, shooting her a glare. “What was that for?”
