To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1321-I Wish You Happiness Paul downed the beer in his cup and said mockingly with a sneer, "Why do you care, hmm? It's all because of you that she's like this now, Gilbert. Stop pretending that you care." Paul didn't show restraint in his choice of words when talking to Gilbert.

"I'm just going out of my way to remind you to check on her. After all, she's still a Wagner. Are you going to sit back and do nothing?’ Gilbert felt that he was being wrongfully blamed. He couldn't quite wrap his head around how Marigold's current situation had anything to do with him. Even if the child was biologically his, it wasn't like he consented to Marigold getting pregnant with his child in the first place. In light of this, how could he be blamed?

However, he felt that there was no point in explaining anything. "Whatever, she's Paul's sister. This has nothing to do with me," he thought with a shrug. And so, he got up and left. Since the conversation with Paul was meaningless, there was no need to continue.

After everyone had lunch at Jenny and Alec’s marital home, one by one, they started leaving. All of them had their matters to attend to, and life still had to go on. They would probably be unable to gather again like today for a very longtime.

Now that Jenny had gotten married, Stephanie and Leonard, as well as Zack and Janet, were planning their respective marriages too. Both couples had intended to tie the knot but decided to wait until Jenny's wedding was done first.

As the dust had settled for Jenny's wedding, they naturally didn't want to waste any more time and drag things out.

As their wedding celebrations came to an end, Jenny and Alec accompanied Old Mr. Faust and David to the airport.

“Grandpa, Alec and I will come visit you soon," Jenny said to Old Mr. Faust.

Then, she looked at David and said, "Uncle David, thank you for coming."

Although he was the only one who came, Jenny was grateful enough for his presence. To Jenny, his presence there was equivalent to her late adoptive grandfather, Horace, being there too. In a way, David represented the Wilkins family. She believed that her grandfather was watching over her in heaven.

“Jenny, I'm sure you'll live a happy life, so I won't need to worry about you anymore. But if anyone dares to bully you in the future, remember to tell me. I may not have much, but I'm strong." Worse came to worst, he could beat up Alec if he ever made Jenny suffer in any way.

Hearing that, Jenny's eyes reddened with tears, and she nodded with a smile.

"Don't worry, Uncle David. I’ll definitely ask for your help if someone dares to bully me."

After saying their goodbyes to Alec and Jenny, Old Mr. Faust and David walked into the airport together. Since they were both returning to Parrington, Jenny arranged for them to be on the same flight to keep each other company.

Watching their retreating figures, Jenny had a somewhat ambivalent feeling; she even felt a little melancholic. Alec pulled her into his arms, comforting her, "Hey, it's okay. If you miss them, we can visit them anytime. ■ “Yeah, I know." Jenny nodded.

After their plane took off, Jenny and Alec left the airport. They would go back to work for a few days and get their ducks in a row before leaving for their honeymoon. They'd decided on it before they got married. Time was racing; they had to get their work affairs in order as quickly as they could.

As soon as Jenny arrived at the hospital, she received a package. She was flabbergasted upon opening it. The package had come from overseas; it contained a diamond and a letter.

The letter read, "Hi Jenny, I heard that you and Alec got married. I'm sorry I couldn't attend your wedding. Well, you wouldn't want me there either, so I didn't come. I don't know if you've forgiven me. I don't dare to hope for your forgiveness, but that doesn't matter. I won't disturb your life in any way in the future.

I hope Alec treats you well. If he doesn't take good care of you, I'll come and teach him a lesson, even if you'll hate me for it.

Jenny, I wish you all the happiness in the world."

By then, Jenny knew who the sender was. Looking at the contents of the letter, Jenny felt a complicated mix of emotions.

If it hadn't been for all the unforgivable things he'd done before, she would have been thrilled for Evan to come and witness her happiness.

Unfortunately, there was no way to turn back time and undo all the harm that was already done.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1322-How Did She End Up Like This?

Three days later, Jenny and Alec boarded the plane for their honeymoon. The first destination they'd chosen was Xeridia because many great legends about love originated from that country. Even though they might not necessarily be true, Jenny and Alec still wanted to go and see it for themselves.

At the same time, Graham and Lynette started their tour around the world as well. They decided not to travel with Jenny and Alec, as they also preferred to have private time with each other and no one else to make up for all their years apart.

However, fate had a funny way of arranging chance encounters when one least expected them. At their first stop, Graham and Lynette coincidentally ran into an old acquaintance that neither of them was particularly fond of.

Their first stop was Harthor, a small country with picturesque scenery. At the moment, they were strolling on the streets and browsing the wares the vendors had to offer. To be more exact, Graham was accompanying Lynette to shop around. Women, whether young or old, were generally unable to resist the temptation of acquiring items that were pleasing to their eyes. Shopping had always been something the fairer sex was enthusiastic about.

’What do you think of this one?" Lynette went into the fitting room and changed into a new set of clothes. Currently, she was standing in front of Graham and seeking his opinion.

Graham looked up and nodded in appreciation. "It looks very beautiful on you."

Lynette rolled her eyes at him. She'd tried many different outfits, and he’d yet to say she didn't look good in any of them. "Alright, let's go with this one and check out the shop next door."

Swiftly, the salesperson packed the outfit Lynette wanted into a bag. Graham carried all the shopping bags for Lynette as they made their way into the next store that sold bags.

’Welcome.’ The salesperson instinctively bowed and greeted them. But when she looked up and saw the person standing before her, she froze in shock.

Right then, she wished the ground would give way and swallow her whole to spare her from embarrassment.

’Rowena?" Graham furrowed his brows and called out her name. He was surprised to see her there and couldn't quite come to terms with the fact that she was working as a salesperson in a store.

When they divorced, he'd given her a huge sum of money. That money should be enough for her to spend for the rest of her life!

Rowena's expression became strained and awkward, and her gaze constantly wandered between Graham and Lynette. After some time, she spoke up, "Rowena? You must have mistaken me for someone else. My name is Lucy."

’It's definitely you, Rowena! You're not fooling anyone," Graham exclaimed internally and was about to say what he thought out loud.

However, Lynette quickly interrupted him by saying, "Apologies, Miss. We mistook you for someone we know."

Afterward, she hastily led Graham away, feeling quite awkward about the whole encounter.

As they left, Rowena breathed a sigh of relief. Comparing the luxurious outfit Lynette wore to her own shabby and unrefined appearance, she felt a twinge of bitterness. She thought that if Graham had loved her even a tiny bit, she wouldn't have fallen from grace and ended up in such a miserable state.

The money Graham gave her during the divorce had long been swindled away by a con man. Therefore, she could only resort to working in order to make ends meet now. Needless to say, she was leading a tougher life here than when she was in Clusia.

Yet, she never considered returning home, even though her daughter, Jolene, was still there. Going back was never an option for her.

On the one hand, she didn't want to be mocked by others upon returning to the country with her tail between her legs. On the other hand, if she returned with her current situation, it would cause Jolene to be looked down upon as well.

Since she'd chosen her current path, there was no turning back, no matter what kind of adversity she faced. She made her bed, so now, she had to lie in it.

While she was lost in thought, another customer entered the store. She hurriedly bowed again and said, "Welcome."

Meanwhile, Lynette had dragged Graham off to another store, and Graham still hadn't picked up on the cues. "Nettie, I'm absolutely sure that was Rowena.

Why did you-"

"Think of it, Graham. For someone as proud as her to stoop to such a state …Do you think she wishes for others to recognize her?" As a woman herself, Lynette could gauge this much. That was why she steered Graham away so that Rowena could retain a tiny bit of dignity.

Lynette's reminder gave Graham an "Aha!" moment. "You're right. I'm just curious how she ended up like this. Even though I wasn't particularly happy with her demands during the divorce, I didn't mistreat her in any way."

"Who knows? A person's fate is predestined sometimes." Lynette didn't want to delve into the matter, and she didn't want Graham to delve into it either. After all, Rowena was his ex-wife. She would be a saint if she said she couldn't care less that Graham showed more concern than necessary for Rowena.

Even if she minded, she wouldn't find fault with Graham because of this.

After all, she was no longer a naive and willful young girl in her twenties anymore.

"Is there anything else you would like to buy?" In the next second, Graham had Rowena out of his mind and continued shopping with Lynette.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1323-I Love You, Alec (The Finale)

Compared to the unexpected encounter Graham and Lynette had on their side, Jenny and Alec had a relatively peaceful time. After landing in Xeridia, they decided to stay at a hotel by the sea. They had a great view of the ocean by simply looking out of their window, which put them in a rather refreshing mood.

At this moment, they'd just gotten up from bed after an intense round of lovemaking. Perhaps it was because they'd left work and other worries behind on this vacation, which was rare for them, Jenny and Alec were in high spirits.

"Shall we go out for a walk?" Alec asked as he hugged Jenny from behind.

Glancing at the nearby beach, Jenny nodded. "Okay."

With that, the two of them walked out of their hotel and made their way toward the beach.

Sunlight shone upon them, casting long shadows in the sand. The setting sun further added to the romanticism of the scene and made it all the more beautiful.

Holding hands, husband and wife strolled along the beach leisurely.

Suddenly, a group of children ran up to them. They were holding some roses in their hands and spoke in broken Elderonian, "Hello, sir. A rose? For lady?"

Alec turned to look at Jenny, but she averted her gaze. She didn’t give any indication as to whether she wanted the roses or not. It was up to Alec to decide.

He chuckled lightly and accepted the rose a young boy handed to him." Sure."

Upon seeing that he was agreeable, the children all started promoting the roses they had in their hands. Not long after that, the children dispersed, and Alec was left holding a large bouquet of roses.

Jenny was amused and felt a little helpless at Alec's generosity. "You're such a benevolent man, Mr. Faust."

Although she did want one, she never expected Alec to buy all the roses in one go. She thought he'd performed an unnecessary act of generosity-he could have just bought one rose instead of all of them.

In response to that, Alec laughed sheepishly and replied with a straight face, "Well, I think one rose isn't as pretty as a bouquet of roses. Look at this. What do you think?"

"I think…" Jenny looked at the bouquet of roses and reached out to take it from Alec. "You're right. It does look more beautiful like this."

Upon hearing that, Alec smiled.

The two of them continued with their walk. Alec felt unsure about how to broach the topic of having children with Jenny. He'd decided to wait a few more years before having children, but what if Jenny didn't hold the same opinion? Because of that, he wanted to discuss the matter with her and make sure they were both on the same page.

"Jenny, what do you think about having children?" Alec finally decided to take the bull by the horns.

As he brought up the topic too abruptly, it caught Jenny off guard, and she was unsure how to answer. "Um…I think we're still young and shouldn't rush into having children too hastily."

She thought Alec was hoping to have children as soon as possible, so she looked kind of troubled when she gave her answer.

"I think the same way too," Alec quickly responded. He didn't intend to have children so soon, either. Though he didn't dislike children, he didn't exactly like them very much either. In any case, he was sure that his feelings toward his offspring were definitely incomparable to his intense feelings for Jenny.

Jenny heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing his reply. "Really? That's great! I thought for a moment you were going to pressure me into having children."

"No way, Jenny. How could I do that to you? Besides, I honestly think it's not the right time to have one. Even if I did hope to have children, I wouldn't force you if you don't want to." Alec smiled wryly-he wasn't the type who enjoyed forcing others to follow his whims and fancies.

With a happy smile, Jenny leaned against Alec's shoulder. They stood there quietly, watching the sun slowly disappear into the horizon. The scenery was a sight for sore eyes, and so were the newlyweds who stood under the setting sun.

Some distance away from them, a photographer took out a camera and captured the captivating scene. He hadn't the foggiest idea that he would win an award for this photo later on.

Watching the sun slowly set, Jenny started to feel sentimental. No matter what fate or destiny threw at humans, ultimately, they were the ones in control of their own lives. In her and Alec's case, they were joined in holy matrimony in the end because they both loved each other.

"Alec," Jenny suddenly spoke up, turning her head to look at him.

"Yes?"

“I love you."

The sun sunk into the coastline, but there was no need to lament its departure because tomorrow, it would rise again, welcoming another hopeful new day.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1324-Extra: Stephanie and Leonard's Wedding Stephanie and Leonard's wedding took place two months after Jenny and Alec's wedding was held. Ultimately, they chose to have their wedding on a small island in Clusia. It was more convenient for everyone to attend that way.

They didn't invite many people-just their family and friends.

At that moment, the sun was shining dazzlingly on the island.

Jenny's eyes were fixed on the wedding ceremony taking place ahead.

Witnessing the ceremony conducted by the priest, she felt genuinely happy for Stephanie. Jenny was glad she'd finally found her happiness.

Then, she instinctively shifted her gaze over to Paul, sitting across from her. His eyes were on Stephanie and Leonard too. Besides a slight frown, he didn't show any other emotions. Upon seeing him in a relatively calm state, Jenny breathed a sigh of relief.

Actually, Jenny was rather concerned that Paul might kick up a fuss that day and cause trouble for her best friend. However, it seemed that he had come to terms with the situation and reconciled with the fact that he couldn't change anything.

As the ceremony came to an end, the wedding reception followed right after.

Considering that there were only a small number of guests, Stephanie decided to hold her banquet in the open air. This gave her wedding a unique feel compared to conventional weddings normally held indoors.

"Congratulations, Steph!" Jenny said, beaming widely.

Stephanie approached her after changing into another gown. Right then, her cheeks were flushed, and she seemed a bit bashful. "Well, Jenny, now that we're both married women. We can't visit nightclubs anymore."

"Stop spouting nonsense, Steph! Even when I wasn't married, I never went to nightclubs with you." She immediately had to clarify herself, seeing how Alec's expression clouded over. Stephanie was clueless to make such a remark.

Stephanie chuckled lightly. "Sure, sure. You didn't go with me. I went by myself."

"No more going to the nightclub in the future," Leonard chimed in right beside them, seemingly having appeared out of nowhere. He pulled Stephanie into his arms, his words carrying a hint of warning.

Stephanie shrugged helplessly. She knew more than anyone that Leonard disliked those places the most. "In that case, you better behave. If you anger me, I'm sure there are countless handsome guys out there lining up and waiting for me."

"Ugh! You…" Leonard felt exasperated with her antics.

Jenny laughed and said, "Don't listen to her nonsense. She rarely went to those places." 1 "Whose side are you on, Jenny?" Stephanie glared at her, appalled that her best friend was siding with Leonard.

With a knowing smile, Jenny replied, "I'm helping you weed out any possible causes of conflict with your husband. No need to thank me."

Stephanie stuck her tongue out at Jenny childishly, thinking that Jenny's input was unnecessary. She believed that Leonard wouldn't really argue with her over such a trivial and harmless joke.

After that brief conversation, Leonard went off to attend to the guests, while Stephanie started wolfing down the food with Jenny. "The mousse cake in this restaurant is fabulous! It's the main reason why I chose this place."

"You chose this place because it had delicious cake?” Jenny was perplexed by Stephanie's way of thinking. "Basing your decision on this alone is a tad simplistic, don't you think?"

"In the past, whenever I attended weddings, the issue of utmost concern for me was whether the food there was good. Now that it's my turn to have a wedding, of course I have to choose a place that serves the best food!" Otherwise, not only would the whole event be unenjoyable for her guests, she wouldn't be thrilled about it, either.

Jenny gave up on debating with her. The wedding was about to end, so dwelling on the topic further wouldn't serve much purpose.

They ate some of the exquisite little cakes together. It was as Stephanie had said-they tasted incredibly good. This resulted in Jenny being unable to eat anything else later in the evening.

"Jenny, can we still be as carefree as before after getting married?" After having their fill of food, Stephanie and Jenny lay on beach chairs.

Unexpectedly, Stephanie chose to ask such a deep question when they were in their most relaxed state.

Jenny pondered her question seriously for a while before giving her answer. "As long as you marry the right person, you'll definitely be able to have that.’ “Right.Js that so? Do you think I've married the right person, then?" Stephanie asked.

Jenny looked at Stephanie, noticing the lingering smile on her face. "Yes."

"Really? That's fantastic!" Stephanie burst into peals of hearty laughter.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1325-Extra: Zack and Janet's Wedding With Stephanie's wedding out of the way, it was Zack and Jane's turn next. They were also very eager to get their wedding done as soon as possible without wasting any more unnecessary time.

Jenny didn't help much during Stephanie's wedding-she'd taken care of everything herself. Zack's wedding was an entirely different matter altogether.

As a fellow family member, Jenny had to help with everything related to her adoptive brother's wedding. n.ove.lx.o Somehow, she was even busier now than when she held her own wedding.

She wasn't the only one who was busy. Being the older brother, Gilbert was naturally the busiest among them all. Whenever Jenny saw him, she couldn't help but think that after Zack's wedding, he might really retreat to Mount Wallington to become a Catholic priest. Her mood instantly soured when she thought of that.

"Gilbert, are you really sticking to your previous plan for the future?" Jenny asked tentatively, feeling a little unsettled.

As he was busy with the wedding preparations, he nodded reflexively without giving it much thought when he heard Jenny's question. "Yes, I'll be starting my own life after Zack's wedding."

He was reluctant to wait another day. Mount Wallington awaited him, and he would have a new life after going there.

Jenny felt helpless upon seeing how resolute he was. novëlxo She wanted to say something to dissuade him, but she knew very well that she could not change his mind. In the end, she could only give up.

"What would it take to make Gilbert change his mind?" she wondered. But no matter how she racked her brain, she couldn't come up with an ideal solution.

The next day, Zack and Janet's wedding was held without a hitch.

Zack took the opportunity to thank Jenny and Gilbert on stage. Jenny was quite excited. Upon seeing Zack tie the knot with the woman he loved, she had a peculiar feeling. She swelled with pride as she watched Zack accomplish a major life milestone.

In contrast, Gilbert remained calm throughout. novëlxo Outsiders didn't know what was going on in his mind, but Jenny was perfectly aware of his state of mind.

After the wedding reception, Jenny tried to locate Gilbert in hopes of persuading him not to see through his plans again. But Gilbert had already left the wedding venue before she could find him.

Alec was right by Jenny's side the whole time and knew how anxious she was.

"Jenny, it's clear that Gilbert has made up his mind. No matter what you say, it's not likely for him to go back on his decision."

Although he found Gilbert's sudden decision quite baffling as well, he respected his choice.

"I know it's hard to convince him, but I can't just do nothing and let him become a priest, can I?" novelxo Jenny didn't intend to go down without a fight.

Alec was silent for a while before speaking up again, "I think the only thing that can keep him here would be Marigold’s child."

No matter what, that child was his biologically, whether he admitted it or not.

When Jenny heard that, her eyes lit up immediately. "Yes, the child! How could I have forgotten?"

She recalled the dates and realized it was almost time for Marigold to give birth.

With that in mind, Jenny dialed Marigold's number. However, when the call connected, the news she received from the other side wasn't optimistic. Jenny rushed to the hospital without delay.

The child had just been born, not because it was due, but because Marigold was in a critical condition. novelxoTherefore, an emergency cesarean section was performed to extract the baby from her womb.

When Jenny and Alec arrived at the hospital, Paul was already waiting at the entrance of the emergency room. He was the only one on Marigold's list of emergency contacts, and he didn't know about the situation until the hospital called him. He put everything aside and rushed over after receiving the call.

' What happened exactly? She'd been fine all this while. How did she get into such a critical condition?" Jenny had to ask. Though Paul seemed distraught at the moment, she needed to know as much novelxo as possible about the situation at hand to come up with a solution or a contingency plan

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1326-ation wouldn't have become this dire."

Marigold had a brain tumor compressing her intracranial nerves, which led to intracranial bleeding. Due to that, her situation was extremely critical right now.

Paul wasn't the only one feeling immense guilt for his neglect toward his sister, Jenny blamed herself too. Marigold had come to her previously, complaining of intense headaches. Although Jenny had suggested a brain CT scan, Marigold chose not to do it in the end, fearing it might adversely affect her baby.

Now, it seemed there were already signs back then. If she'd been more proactive in getting to the bottom of her condition at that time, perhaps things wouldn't have come to this.

Even so, Jenny could guess the ultimate choice Marigold would make as a mother. Even if she had discovered the tumor back then, she wouldn't have chosen to terminate her pregnancy in order to undergo treatment.

As Jenny thought about Marigold's unfortunate circumstances, Paul suddenly looked at her and said, "Aren't you a neurosurgeon? Don’t they all praise you for your outstanding medical skills? This kind of tumor removal surgery should be a walk in the park for you, right?"

"Paul, you should calm down first," Alec said, shielding Jenny behind him."

Jenny doesn't know how Marigold's condition is right now. How can she perform surgery on her?"

Jenny came back to her senses. Looking at Paul, she replied, "Rest assured. I would definitely do my best in this surgery even if you don't remind me to."

After that, Jenny left and went off to ask the medical in the emergency room about Marigold's condition.

As for the child…They were all unable to spare the child any extra thought at the moment.

Jenny had an idea. She quickly sent a message to Alec, asking him to inform Gilbert to come over. Even if the surgery were successful, novelxo Marigold would be unable to care for the baby due to her health condition. As the child's father, Gilbert should take responsibility during such a situation.

Although they'd already agreed on the financial support and he'd given Marigold the money, the situation was different now. Jenny hoped that he would come and take care of his child. Other than that, she asked Alec to arrange a paternity test for the child and Gilbert. They needed to know whether the child was really his.

After making all those arrangements, novelxo Jenny entered the emergency room.

Meanwhile, Gilbert was stunned when he received the phone call. His child was born, but the child's mother was critically ill, and he'd become the child's sole legal guardian. He looked at the suitcase in front of him and fell into deep thought.

He'd already started packing his bags, preparing to leave early tomorrow morning. But now, this news came like a bolt out of the blue. Despite feeling utterly bewildered, Gilbert immediately made his way to the hospital.

When he arrived there, he saw his own child. Perhaps it was due to their blood connection, as the child, who'd been crying all this while, suddenly stopped crying upon Gilbert's arrival.

Alec appeared behind him in the next second. "I'll take a few strands of your hair for the paternity test."

Just as he reached his hand out, novel.xo Gilbert stopped him. "There's no need. He's my child."

Those eyes and that little face simply resembled his too much. Even without a paternity test, Gilbert was certain that the child was his.

Hearing that, Alec didn't insist. As long as Gilbert acknowledged it, then all was good.

Alec explained Marigold's current condition to Gilbert and stated, novel.xo"You'll have to take care of the child for the time being. If you're inexperienced in this, I think it's best to hire a nanny."

"Of course I'm inexperienced!" Gilbert exclaimed internally. He looked at the tiny infant and had no idea where to start or what to do. Therefore, he followed Alec's advice and found a nanny for the child. He also bought a whole bunch of baby supplies.

Gilbert thought he would despise this child because of how it was conceived.

But upon laying eyes on the little one, an inexplicable feeling of joy took over his heart.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1327-Gilbert and Marigold

In the evening, under the nanny's guidance, Gilbert managed to put his child to sleep on his shoulder. At the same time, Marigold's surgery also ended.

Jenny had changed out of her surgeon clothes and was about to go in to see the child when Alec stopped her. He carefully opened the door to let Jenny peek in through a small gap. "Well, look at that. I guess someone is able to tie him down, after all."

Alec was right. Gilbert was completely enthralled by the child. He was so smitten to the point that he’d completely forgotten he was supposed to go to Mount Wallington.

"How did the surgery go?" Alec asked.

’I think it was a success, but she needs to focus on recovery after the surgery. I don't think she should take care of the child," Jenny answered.

Alec smiled, thinking that it wouldn't be a problem. "Isn't Gilbert doing well taking care of the baby? Maybe he can take care of the baby's mother too."

"Are you suggesting…" Jenny dragged out the last word suggestively and laughed.

Gilbert was clueless about their plan. Hence, it came as no surprise that he was confuddled when Jenny brought not only his child but also Marigold, who was just discharged from the hospital, and put them under his care.

"Jenny, what's the meaning of this?" Taking care of a child was already exhausting enough. Now, he was tasked with taking care of a patient as well.

Waving her hand, Jenny motioned for him to keep calm as she replied,"

Marigold is the child's mother, after all. We can't just leave her alone in her current condition, right?"

"But what about the Wagners-' "She wasn't exactly having a good time while staying with the Wagners, to begin with. On top of that, Paul won't be able to cope with taking care of her every day," Jenny interrupted. As Gilbert's frown deepened, Jenny prattled on, "You know, she fought so hard to give birth to the child. I think she'll want to see him every day and be close to him. Letting her stay at your place is the best choice.

If you're really at your limit, you can hire some help.’ This put Gilbert in a spot. Seeing him silent, Jenny smirked, for her plan had succeeded.

After Jenny was done ’negotiating" with Gilbert, she went to talk to Marigold and give her a few words of advice. "Take good care of yourself here. Don't hesitate to call me if anything crops up. Gilbert might seem all macho and tough, but deep down, he cares about you."

"Jenny, I don't think this is necessary…"

"Do you want the child to grow up without a father?" Jenny asked her.

Marigold had no words to reply to that. Of course, she didn't want that for her child.

"If you don't want that, then listen to me. After spending more time together, Gilbert will gradually treat you and your child as family. Just be patient and wait.’ Jenny was in a good mood now. As long as Gilbert wasn't going to Mount Wallington, she was happy enough. On the other hand, Marigold didn't say anything more. She didn't care how Gilbert would treat her. The only thing she cared about was her child.

Previously, she believed that she could raise the child alone. But she was now a patient herself, and coupled with the fact that she didn't want the child to grow up without a father, she was tempted by Jenny's proposal due to all those factors.

Jenny patted her on the shoulder. "You're doing this for the sake of your child.

You need to hold on."

"Yeah, I understand.’ In the end, Marigold agreed. Her motherly love of wanting the best for her child outweighed everything else.

After making sure that Marigold would be able to settle in, Jenny left Gilbert's villa, giving the two of them some alone time.

When Gilbert came downstairs, Marigold was still in the living room. She was currently undergoing chemotherapy and needed to go to the hospital regularly.

Seeing Gilbert, she felt a bit guilty about putting him through this." I'm sorry, I didn't mean for-"

"Don't think too much into it. Stay here and focus on recuperating. Let me know when you need to go for your hospital appointments, and I'll take you there,"

Gilbert said to Marigold considerately, seemingly having figured out that he shouldn't be too harsh to her.

Marigold was stunned, finding the whole situation surreal and unbelievable.

"You…"

"For your child, you should live well, too," Gilbert said again.

Marigold's eyes reddened with tears, and she nodded fervently. "You're right. I must definitely live well.’ ’For the sake of the child and for you too," Marigold promised solemnly in her heart

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1328-Gilbert and Marigold (3)

At first, Marigold only wanted to live better for the sake of her child. However, the more she stayed at Gilbert's villa, she couldn't help but start to have some other thoughts.

"Since he agreed to let me stay here, does it mean he didn't despise me as much as he did before?" Marigold wondered hopefully.

With that thought in mind, Marigold became eager to receive treatment; it could even be said that she was enthusiastic. She wanted to stay alive until her child grew up and live until she and Gilbert grew old together.

Gilbert noticed how she'd changed but kept it to himself. He didn't think much about it. He agreed to let Marigold stay with him partly because of the child and partly because of Jenny's intervention. How he regarded Marigold, however, remained mostly unchanged.

Apart from occasionally checking on the child from time to time, he didn't really interact much with Marigold. Most of the time, life remained the same for him.

He was busy as ever and wholeheartedly poured all his energy and effort into work.

At 10 pm, Gilbert finished work and returned to the villa. Getting off work at this hour was considered early for a workaholic like him. Upon returning to his villa, he went straight to the child's room. The child was already soundly asleep. He took a peek and quietly left the room.

As he was about to make his way downstairs. Marigold walked out of the adjacent room. "Oh, you're back."

"Yeah," Gilbert replied, "why aren't you asleep yet?"

"I've been asleep for a while but woke up." She woke up due to the sound of Gilbert's car engine, so she didn't get up and take a look.

“Rest early," he said and proceeded to go downstairs.

“Have you had dinner?’ Marigold followed him, clearly not intending to return to her room to rest. With that brief exchange of words, they'd already reached the first floor. "Shall I cook you something?"

"No, you should go and rest now. If there's really a need to cook, I should be the one to do it," he replied. Actually, he didn't feel like cooking; he'd rather go hungry.

Marigold felt a bit embarrassed as she spoke up tentatively, "Well, I'm actually a little hungry."

Gilbert was momentarily lost for words.

"Alright, you wait in the living room. I'll cook some pasta," he said, then went into the kitchen.

Marigold didn't do as she was told. Instead, she followed him into the kitchen, wanting to help with the cooking. Unfortunately, she didn't get the chance to do so. She could only stand at one side and wait, watching Gilbert work away efficiently in the kitchen. Seeing him in this kind of setting warmed her heart.

"Gilbert, have you given up on the idea of going to Mount Wallington?" Marigold asked cautiously. In fact, when Jenny told her about his plans, she was quite shocked.

She couldn't believe that Gilbert would go to such an extreme. Wasn't he living a good life now? Why would he even consider resorting to that?

Right then, Gilbert was washing some vegetables. He wasn’t angered by Marigold's question. “Don't worry. I don't intend to go there for now."

Besides Jenny adamantly opposing his idea, he also had a child upstairs. He didn't have it in him to just up and leave in such a situation.

Marigold felt relieved when she heard his answer. "Ah, that's good."

Gilbert turned to look at her scrutinizingly and asked, "What's good?"

“I…just think it's good that you're putting that on hold for now and not doing something so extreme." Marigold blushed, not daring to meet Gilbert's gaze.

She couldn't let it slip or give out any indication that she liked Gilbert. If he noticed her feelings, he might feel disgusted and decide to drive her out.

Marigold thought if she could stay by his side like this for the rest of her life, she would be contented.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1329-Gilbert and Marigold

Gilbert didn't know what her true thoughts were. He couldn't help but chuckle a little in response to her words. "Why do you consider that extreme? Couldn't going there mean I've decided to let go of the past and begin a new chapter?"

"Um…’ Marigold opened her mouth, looking for the right words. But in the end, she closed her mouth. She realized she didn't have much to say to that. She thought Gilbert was right; why would that be considered an extreme act?

Seeing her dazed expression, Gilbert retracted his gaze that was on her and focused on his cooking. "Alright, go wait in the living room."

This time, Marigold finally did as she was told. Without a word, she turned and went back to the living room, silently sitting down and looking in the direction of the kitchen. From there, she could see Gilbert's figure faintly.

"Actually, who’s the one still holding on to the past?" Marigold wondered. She didn't have an answer to that. The only thing she got was a headache trying to figure it all out.

Soon, Gilbert came out with two plates of pasta. "Eat up. I don't often cook, so they might not taste that great."

Marigold put a forkful into her mouth, and her eyes immediately lit up. ’It's delicious! I've never tasted pasta as good as this."

Gilbert glanced at her but remained silent. Lowering his head and eating his food quietly, he was obviously not keen to converse with her any more than necessary.

Marigold cleared her throat awkwardly and elaborated, "I'm not purposely flattering you. It's just that I rarely come across pasta that suits my taste."

"Eat up," Gilbert said monotonously, making it hard to discern his emotions. It was even harder to gauge if he believed Marigold's explanation.

"Okay," Marigold muttered softly and continued to eat her pasta without another word. She felt like everything she said at the moment would just end up sounding like she was buttering him up.

The two of them ate their pasta in silence, and the atmosphere became somewhat icy.

After a while, Marigold couldn't bear the oppressive mood and decided to speak again, "The baby will be a month old soon, and we haven't given him a name yet."

If she and Gilbert were a normal couple, they would probably host a grand celebration for the baby's naming. However…

Holding a naming ceremony was definitely off the table in their case. But at the very least, they should come up with a name as parents.

"You decide." It almost cost Marigold her life to give birth to this child. novëlxo Hence, Gilbert thought it would be the most fitting for her to decide on the name.

His succinct words didn't divulge his train of thought to Marigold, causing her to misunderstand. When she heard his reply, her eyes dimmed. "He… he's your child too."

Right after she said that, Gilbert put down his fork and looked straight at her.

Marigold instantly became flustered, and her grip on her fork unconsciously tightened. "I didn't mean anything else. I was just-’ "You don't have to explain yourself. If you want my input, I can think about it.’ He didn't refuse outrightly. In fact, he had a soft spot for the child despite not showing it much.

Marigold's eyes lit up with hope, and she couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Really? You'll come up with a name for him?"

"Yeah. If you need it—"

"Yes, I need it! Of course, I need it!" novëlxo Almost without hesitation, Marigold responded instantaneously.

Gilbert nodded. "I'll come up with something in the next few days."

"Okay." Marigold nodded, feeling exuberant.

Something suddenly crossed her mind, and she looked at Gilbert. "The baby will be a month old soon. If you want to do a paternity test, we can—"

’I don't think there's a need,’ Gilbert interrupted, looking at Marigold. ’I believe he's related to me by blood."

It was an indescribable feeling. From the moment he saw that child, he had a strong feeling-as if he knew by intuition-that the child was his.

Tears started swimming in Marigold's eyes. For some reason, she felt like crying. She could hardly hold her tears back. Perhaps it was because she'd been waiting for this day for a long time. So, she was in overwhelming euphoria that Gilbert finally acknowledged the child was his.

To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 1330-Gilbert and Marigold After finishing their pasta, they each went back to their rooms. novelxo Marigold stopped by the next room next to hers to check on her baby.

She sat by the bed, looking at the child, who was sleeping peacefully. That little face was incredibly adorable, making her unable to resist the urge to give him a kiss. But she held herself back from giving in to that temptation, as she was afraid of waking the child.

Although the child was currently taken care of by a nanny, she knew how much of a ruckus he would make if he started crying at night. novelxo Hence, she couldn't wake him up at any cost.

‘My baby, your daddy acknowledges that you're his child." Even though she'd initially made up her mind that she would raise the child alone, with or without Gilbert, she still hoped that Gilbert would acknowledge the child as his. Perhaps deep down, she wished for the child to be able to grow up with a father figure.

Growing up in the Wagner family, her father never gave her anything much besides holding the title of being her father. So, she'd always lacked paternal love throughout her life. n.ove.lx.o That could be the reason she hoped her child could grow up in an environment filled with paternal love.

After whispering a few more words to her child. Marigold left and returned to her own room to rest.

Meanwhile, in Gilbert's room, he'd just taken a shower. He was just about to get under the covers and call it a day, n.ove.lx.o but he suddenly thought of what Marigold had said at the dining table.

A name…

He had no idea what name to bestow upon the child. novëlxo Therefore, he dialed Jenny's number right away.

Jenny had just gotten into bed with Alec when his call came in. "Hold on a moment!" Jenny quickly took the phone. "It's a call from Gilbert."

"Just hang up the call!" Alec was quite annoyed.

"There must be something important for him to call at this hour." Jenny pushed Alec aside, sat up straight, and answered Gilbert's call.

Alec sat next to her with a grumpy expression full of resentment. Jenny smiled at him, reaching out to pinch his cheek in an attempt to ease his annoyance.

"Gilbert," she greeted, "what's the matter? Why are you still up so late?” "I have something to ask you," Gilbert replied, cutting to the chase." Marigold asked me to come up with a name for the child. Do you have any good suggestions?"

Jenny inhaled in surprise; she didn't expect he would ask her for name suggestions. There was a moment of silence as Jenny thought about it.

Guessing Gilbert's train of thought, Jenny replied, novëlxo ‘Since it's up to you to decide, then you should be the one to choose the name. I believe you can come up with something suitable.’ She didn't dare to decide for him and Marigold when it came to such an important matter as naming the child. Furthermore, Marigold had made it clear that she wanted Gilbert to decide, novelxo so that was all the more reason she shouldn't butt in.

"Jenny-’ "I'm hanging up now. Good night and good luck!" Jenny immediately ended the call. It wasn't because she was in a hurry, but Alec was genuinely not allowing her to answer the phone properly. He'd already started nibbling and raining kisses on her neck when she was still on the call.

Gilbert sighed helplessly as he looked at the disconnected call. He would have to take his time and come up with a name himself. "What's a good name?" he wondered.

After a while, he got up and took several books from his bookshelf. novelxo Upon closer inspection, they were several volumes of poem collections.

Marigold probably hadn't expected Gilbert would try to come up with a name so seriously because she asked him to. He stayed up all night poring over several books before finally writing down one name.

The next day, when Marigold looked at the note that Gilbert handed her and took in the obvious dark circles under his eyes, her heart skipped a beat.

"Thank you." novelxo She didn't say anything else and just expressed her gratitude in a soft tone.

Gilbert shrugged indifferently, pretending that it was no big deal. "It's just a small favor. I thought of it randomly. Take a look and see if it's to your liking. If it's not, then just forget about it. Don't mind me."

Marigold smiled and opened the note.
