“Wake up Beau,’’ I nudge him for the tenth time this morning. I have been awake for a couple of hours now and somehow, he has decided to be stubborn this morning.

“In a minute,” he grumbles into the pillow. His face is covered with the duvet but I can just imagine the frown that he would be carrying on his face.

A lot has been going on. Today, we have to go back to my old house. I call it my old house because the community is my new family. I can never forget where I came from but I am loving who I am. There was a joint decision to wake Belis and Dru. We didn’t know how long they needed but we felt that it was time. A lot has happened. I didn’t want them to miss the whole family while they were asleep. They need to get to know the twins. They need to watch them grow.

I know father agreed to this because of me.

He could see that I wanted my whole family to bond with my kids and it might be a little selfish but I am sure they are ready.
