“I am not doing this,’’ I stand up from the chair in a frenzy. If this is what this is going to turn into, then I am leaving. I don’t want to have anything to do with this place. I need to find a way to get the fuck out of here.

“I already said it. You have no choice in this. You are either in or out,’’ Badger stands up from the chair too and her eyes stay on mine. The anger in his voice is strong. I don’t know what she expected from me. She must have known that I would never want this. I have never wanted this, in all my life. I don’t want to be part of this place. I will never take this oath.

I will never be one of them.

“I don’t want to do this under pressure. I need time to figure out what I want.’’ I shake my head immediately. Maybe my refusal to do this will let her give me some time. Time to think this through before I make a decision. I know it is a long shot but this is all I have. I have to get out of this dinner and find Gyles. Something doesn’t seem right.

“You don’t have the choice. Yes or no Blue,’’ she smiles even though her eyes tell a different story. This is her way of saying she is not going to take no for an answer but I can’t say yes to this.

“I refuse Badger, I will not be forced into this oath. I want to do this with my mate.”
